Lunch Special honored even on weekends!
    Ramona V.

I love King Palace. San Ramon is my hometown and I remember when King Palace was new a little over a decade ago. I used to come here with my family. I hadn't been back in years, and recently came here with my mom for a Saturday lunch. I love how they have lunch special pricing even on weekends, not a lot of restaurants do that. I got the Honey Walnut Prawns which comes with fried rice, and hot & sour soup for only $10.95! Can't beat those prices on this side of town! The food is delicious and definitely hits the spot when you have Chinese food cravings. I'll be back again soon!

Quick service , call by phone. Here's the menu updated pricing . Authentic food. Tasty . Recommend

Quick and fast Chinese food. Service is excellent. Food is served hot and delicious. Looking for a quick lunch deal come to this place. The place need a update but it functions pretty well. This place is a hole in the wall place. Good food, quick and good for people who on the budget.

    Prawn?

This place is getting progressively worse. Shrimp are now being sold as prawns. Everything smothered in 'brown sauce'. Only 1 table with customers on a Saturday night at 6:30pm. Appears one-half of restaurant is being used as living quarters. Never again.

    House special pan fried noodle

Stopped by for a quick bite. No tables filled and half the restaurant looked like a make-shift kid's area with Legos and other toys on the table. But plenty of takeout business while we were there. We were seated and ordered house special pan fried noodles, moo shu pork and sweet and sour fish. The fish was the highlight, albiet a little too much sauce. Noodles were beautifully presented but too Americanized for our taste. Moo shu pork was fine although the "pancakes" were a little dry. Too be expected if there's not enough churn in their supply. But the leftover moo shu pork made for an excellent topping on a salad the next day. Prices were fine, nothing crazy. They had a 3 dish minimum, $10.75 each special, but we didn't find enough on there that we wanted. The last thing I'll say is that I was exceptionally thirsty after the meal. I don't know if it was too much salt or msg, but something made me feel dehydrated!

We were looking for some Chinese food for lunch today and we came across Mandarin Delight, so we…read moredecided to give it a try. These were the dishes we tried: - Firecracker Chicken: it was deep fried chicken breast chunks tossed with spicy Sichuan peppercorns and dried chilies. Despite using chicken breast, the chunks were surprisingly tender and didn't feel dry at all. The spicy, numbing flavor really came through, but I felt like the dish was severely under salted. I think just a little more salt would've elevated the flavor completely. Also this dish wasn't spicy at all to us even though we were forewarned that it was gonna be spicy. - Spicy Basil Chicken: this dish had a flavor profile that reminded me of Thai style Basil Chicken Stir Fry, but I thought the Thai stir fry version was far superior. The flavor wasn't bad though, and what really impressed me was the chicken. The slices were so soft and tender that I couldn't believe I was eating chicken. The texture almost reminded me of fish cake, it was that tender. However, I did think the dish was a little unbalanced, with the vegetables taking up a much larger portion of the dish than the chicken. And I did think that the bell peppers were undercooked. - The House Special Chow Mein was fantastic. The flavor was smoky, savory, and slightly sweet, creating a really nice combo of flavors. The noodles were also nice and chewy and had a great bounce to them. I loved all the different toppings that came with it too, and there was also Bok Choy mixed in for some vegetables. The portion was pretty generous as well. Overall, the service was amazing. The older couple, who I assume were the owners, seemed to do pretty much everything themselves. They took our order, brought out the food, and checked on us throughout the meal. They were very hospitable and nice. The ambience was just okay... The restaurant felt a little cramped and was somewhat dark. One thing I really didn't like, though, was that the kitchen was open and right next to the dining area. I felt like all the cooking smoke and smells were drifting directly into the dining area, which wasn't particularly pleasant while we were eating.

There was never an entree I didn't love. We always ordered the salt and pepper prawns with no shell because they never over batter it and it's perfectly seasoned. You taste everything. But honestly, you'll never go wrong with whatever you order. The first time I went, probably a decade ago, I had my doubts because the staff was super nice and efficient. Usually restaurants with good staff overcompensate because the food was off, but they continue to impress even after 10 years. The inside is peaceful as well. Love the art on the walls and the soft music that plays. Bathroom is pretty clean too. Everything there is clean. I hope they come back soon, someone better write a review when they do! Since they closed due to the fire, I've been eating at all sorts of Chinese restaurants-both Americanized and traditional. But i just can't find anyone who can do food just like them with good quality ingredients and perfect flavoring.

It also has a good atmosphere too as its not a big restaurant either and still fun to sit down and eat lunch or dinner at. Which speaking of which, the deals are pretty good too especially at lunch when you can get a meal with rice, a poultry dish and soup. The same also applies to dinner too except with dinner there are good choices that you can choose for like a family dinner which is even better. This can not only help you save some money, but it can also make it easier for you to try most of everything so you can decide if you want to come back. Give it a try for sure as its right near the Trader Joe's of San Ramon.

Dining room looks very upscale for a mom and pop operation. Staff is very gracious and accommodating. I was there for a late lunch once. Watched a family of 5 walk in wanting to sit down and order. The restaurant was technically closed for a staff lunch and reset for dinner. The front door was unlocked only to let stragglers like me and another table out after finishing our meal. The server was nice and let the family stay. Great customer service isn't the only reason for the 4 stars. AW has amazing value lunch deals. Love the simple stirfries best. Healthy but tasty. Lots of quality veggies. Highly enjoyed the veggie and shrimp stirfry. The string bean beef is also yummy. My sister thinks their hot and sour soup is great. I love the crunchy woodear mushrooms while she likes the flavor. We both appreciate the kitchen not skimping on the tofu, bamboo shoots and egg. Not everything is a favorite tho. Tried the mushu for takeout once. Didn't enjoy AZ's version. Also didn't enjoy their veggie eggrolls. Wrapper was good and crispy but veggie filling was oddly mushy. Happy to find Amazing Wok as our regular neighborhood place closed recently. AW is a few miles further but it is now our "go to" Chinese American restaurant. Will gladly return to explore the extensive menu.
