    94. Steam Fish Fillet W/ Soy Sauce
    Corinne P.

I came here with my family of 5 of us for Chinese New Year dinner and oh boy, this place was delicious!! It satisfied our craving for authentic chinese food and all the delicious flavors. When you come, ask for the special menu that gives you a deal when you order several dishes. Ken, our waiter was very helpful and patient with my family ordering. He made sure we had enough food and gave us recommendations. My family feasted!! We had peking duck, eggplant with XO sauce, peking spareribs, pork hash with salted egg, scrambled egg with veggies, clams with black bean sauce, steamed fish, and crispy beef. We had plenty and managed to finish everything! The chicken and corn soup was perfect to start off with too. Inside there are a lot of tables great for groups. There are several big round tables that can fit groups of about 8-10 people. Parking is easy to find and safe as well. Its very clean inside and nothing too fancy. We were immediately greeted right when we entered the restaurant.

There were definitely some highlights of this meal - the fact that they were able to make supreme soy sauce noodles is one, and their eggplant tofu was really great. However, my girlfriend ordered the roast duck plate with rice and it looked like it wasn't actually roasted. The duck itself was actually quite wet looking, and the plate had a lot of juice coming from the meat. Not sure what happened there, as roast duck is typically pretty crispy.

This restaurant is one of my in laws' favorite Chinese restaurants in the neighborhood. My family usually will come here for at least once before we head back to Southern California. The review is definitely long overdue. The food and service here are great. Friendly staff and decently good service. My family knows the previous owner and the staff. A few of the dishes changed its style or taste after the owner changed but it's slowly coming back to what it used to be.

Great service and welcoming environment! The sweet and sour prawn was very crispy and soft-chewy inside, pretty well done on high heat. We asked for reduced sweetness which was a good call. I liked the Chinese broccoli with wine sauce as well. The texture was crunchy and fresh, while geeen leaves were cooked nicely. Beef with ginger and spring onion was very soft and just right. Overall great restaurant for basic home style cantonese food and we enjoyed it! The cleaning solution smell is quite strong there inside which is my only complaint.

Review is for Doordash delivery: For some reason, New Moon has flew under our radar for a long time. We've typically rotated between Leo's, Golden Sand Harbor, HK Cafe, and China Gourmet. New Moon seems to have a good-sized menu with speciality items like roasted duck and chicken - the type you'll see in Chinese Markets and BBQ with that crispy, glistening skin. We ordered 3 items and two were excellent. Fish Fillet with Veggies were generous portion wise and cooked perfectly with a light white sauce. Likewise, Mushu Pork was good - protein, veggies, and carb when you eat it taco-style with the pancakes. You don't even need the Hoisin sauce since the Mushu was seasoned well. A minor fail was the half roasted chicken. Its our son's favorite dish for Chinese family-style cuisine. The skin was indeed crispy and well-seasoned, however once you start getting in the meat you'll fond it extremely seasoned - almost a bit too salty. Still, a very solid Chinese delivery place that's nearby and I can see us coming back to try more of their menu.

We usually come for lunch, but decided to try for dinner. We came around 6:30pm last night, few tables were taken. We were a party of four. Service was great. We ordered four dishes and everything was eaten. String beans with pork Salt and pepper pork chop Sizzling beef plate Pork fried rice My boys were hungry. When I go out to eat with them, they finish all the dishes . Overall, this is one of our go to places for Cantonese food in San Ramon.

For a quick and good Chinese food... there are a lot of choices in the menu. Always do take out... good portion for the price. The service fast and priced reasonably... Try it... perhaps you can decide for yourself.

Under new ownership and I am so disappointed. I ordered what I've normally been ordering, including tomato beef chow mein. It was literally regular chow mein with some sliced tomatoes. The quality went down with new owner. Today's wait was over an hour's wait with dried out roast duck

New spot, new moon! I liked how most of the tables were large /family style with the lazy susans and a few were regular tables for 1-4 people. Their menu was quite extensive and there was even a lunch menu. Everything is family style, so be prepared for the large portions. One thing I noticed about all of the food items were how it was lightly seasoned. There is a sign in front of the door that says they use no MSG. Although, this is great considering sometimes a dish could be way too salty, I feel like it did and didn't work in their favor. They have plenty of seasonings available on the table for you to add more yourself, which makes up for it. The Yang Chow fried rice could've had more flavor, whereas the Garlic Chicken was the highlight of our meal with its sweet and garlicky twist to an orange chicken dish. The egg drop soup had lots of content in there (peas, carrots, and mushrooms) and felt like a warm hug. Wontons were crunchy and yummy as well. The salt and pepper pork chops were crunchy and soft, but not as flavorful as I would've liked it to be. Overall, service was good. We were checked on 1-3 times during our meal and were seated with our drinks relatively quick. Our food also came within 10-12 minutes after ordering. You get a lot for what you pay for, which means leftovers and money saved for a meal the next day. We paid around $65 total for all of these items. I would come back again for their Garlic Chicken and try more of their dishes for a better consensus on the seasoning dilemma I have.

With the closure of Three Brothers From China, New Moon Restaurant is now on the top of my go-to list when it comes to reasonably priced Cantonese food in the Tri-Valley area. My family and I came here for dinner on 10/19/2024. We walked in at around 6pm and the first thing I noticed was one of my best friends and his family were having dinner together. After a bit of catching up, we were seated by the staff. One of them quickly brought us tea and menus. We ordered five dishes off their "Chinese" menu - galanga chicken, salt and pepper pork chop, X.O. sauce seafood trio, beef with string beans, and roast pork and fish fillet clay pot. Out of the five, three were solid on both quality and quantity (beef with string beans, galanga chicken, and salt and pepper pork chop). The other two were full of the "Holy Trinity" of green peppers, onions and celery. Proteins were hard to find in those two dishes. Service was okay for a Chinese restaurant. Understandable because of the limited staffing. Overall, this was a mix bag experience. While some dishes were good, cost control measure on the not-so-good ones was pretty evident. I think a 3-star rating is a fair assessment.

Excellent service and food. We brought an ocean fish for them to cook for us and it was delicious. Other items on the menu were very good and flavorful.

Great food, huge quantities, super service. Got the salt and pepper fish filet lunch plate with chow mein and fried won ton, and an order of garlic broccoli. Had enough for lunch for two, with leftovers!! Called ahead because I had foot surgery, asked if they would curbside delivery, and they were happy to accommodate.

My #1favorite restaurant . Good food, reasonable price and good service. A perfect place for family and friends to get together to have a meal. The chefs are amazing. We did some special orders. The turn out was so delicious!!! Highly recommend.

Dining room looks very upscale for a mom and pop operation. Staff is very gracious and accommodating. I was there for a late lunch once. Watched a family of 5 walk in wanting to sit down and order. The restaurant was technically closed for a staff lunch and reset for dinner. The front door was unlocked only to let stragglers like me and another table out after finishing our meal. The server was nice and let the family stay. Great customer service isn't the only reason for the 4 stars. AW has amazing value lunch deals. Love the simple stirfries best. Healthy but tasty. Lots of quality veggies. Highly enjoyed the veggie and shrimp stirfry. The string bean beef is also yummy. My sister thinks their hot and sour soup is great. I love the crunchy woodear mushrooms while she likes the flavor. We both appreciate the kitchen not skimping on the tofu, bamboo shoots and egg. Not everything is a favorite tho. Tried the mushu for takeout once. Didn't enjoy AZ's version. Also didn't enjoy their veggie eggrolls. Wrapper was good and crispy but veggie filling was oddly mushy. Happy to find Amazing Wok as our regular neighborhood place closed recently. AW is a few miles further but it is now our "go to" Chinese American restaurant. What a great find in San Ramon!…read more Peking Delight in the Gateway Centre Shopping Center, offers an extensive menu with 100's of items. I was there on a Friday, at around 5pm. It's not a large place, it has 7 4-seat tables and 2 large round tables. Service was prompt and quick, even as the place filled up for dinner time. Now, my favorite chinese comfort food is Won Ton Soup. Peking Delight has EIGHT different types of Won Ton Soups. Including three soups you seldom find in Chinese restaurants anymore. I ordered: - Duck Yee Won Ton Soup, $16.00 - Eggrolls, 4/ $6.50 First off, the eggrolls were fresh.....as in not mushy inside. The outer wrapper was golden brown and crisp. The filling was crunchy. Pour the sweet 'n sour sauce over them, and those eggrolls were near perfect. Nice price at $6.50 an order. Duck Yee Won Ton Soup - I haven't enjoyed this soup in decades. If you ever want to try something different, try Yee Won Ton Soups. You seldom see these won ton soups in restaurants. What is Duck Yee Won Ton Soup? It's deep fried won ton dumplings in a dark savory broth. Then they add lots of pieces of boneless roast duck, with the skin and fat still on. Peking Delight added some veggies and some strips of beef. The fried won tons soak up the flavor in the broth, and create a rich and flavorful soup. For me this soup was a meal. It had 9-10 dumplings. The soup didn't quite have that distinctive flavor that I remember from San Francisco Chinatown, but it was a good hearty won ton soup. Serving wise, it's enough for two people. I would definitely return. Free parking in lot. Gateway Centre is at San Ramon Blvd x Alcosta Blvd, right next to I-680.

Several of the dishes tasted like they skipped every seasoning in the kitchen -- just flat, dull, and forgettable. Definitely not a place I'd return to. There are far better spots that actually care about their customers.
