We camp here 1-2 times each summer. Always enjoyable. Clean and neat. It recently changed ownership so we will need to see. They could use some picnic table repairs/replacements. The sites also could use a fresh layer of stone dust to regrade. Reservation process is easy to navigate. read more

This place is terrible. The long term RV tenants run this place with all of their junk littering what could be nice grounds. Also a huge fire hazard as someone mentioned, there are massive amounts of leaves and dead branches along with fire pits blazing into the night. Good plan. The office though. Who keeps hours from 11 am to 4 pm? If you need propane and need to get to your next stop, no one will help you. Not even the people who work there and are standing right there. It is very very dark at night at this park. So just be aware. Obviously nothing that they can control, but when having to take your dog out at night, and all of the junk covered in tarps all around.. you tend to forget what is junk and what are large shadowy things in the night. Won't be back. They don't care if you come either. So don't bother. Much better places to stay in the area. I also feel their website is misleading. Leading with a huge picture of Lake George. Camped here a week in June 2024 and a week in June 2025. Campground changed ownership in 2025 to a corporate owner, Modern America Campgrounds, which isn't focused on good customer service or ground maintenance. Does false advertising indicating Wifi & Cable which wasn't available. They would not offer refund or free night stay to compensate. Campsite had numerous raised rocks and tree roots posing tripping and fall hazards. We asked to use their rake to do our own maintenance but wasn't given one. Sewer hookup was clogged at site below ours which caused GROSS backup. Pool in extreme need of vacuuming. Dumpster overflowing. Numerous abandoned and moldy campers. Fire pits cracked and broken. At least bathrooms were still clean. read more

We had a GREAT experience camping at King Phillips Campground! Everything was very well kept and the showers and bathrooms were always clean! All the people who stayed here were very kind and friendly as well. I would have given a 5/5 stars however the ONLY thing that stood out to my boyfriend and I during our stay was how frustrating it was having NO HOOKS in any of the showers to hang your belongings on! Thankfully there was a shower chair in some of them so if you were lucky you could put your things down on that - but still, kinda nasty. Would have preferred hooks for sure! Other than that if your looking for a kid friendly, pet friendly, family oriented camp ground whether it be for a quick overnight or a long weekend - we highly recommend King Phillips! read more

King Phillips Campground & Resort - Our setup! - Campgrounds Near Me - Lake George, New York

The campground is huge. Spacious sites. Clean, quiet surroundings, well stocked store and a great pool!! We'll be back!

We decided on a last minute camping trip and found this gem. We have a 30 foot Travel Trailer and were given a pull thru site in the back, at the base of French mountains. Site had 30 and 50 amps, full hookups Shady and in a quiet part of the campground which as a retired couple, we prefer. Pulling our camper into the "pull thru" was a bit challenging as the entrance was narrow with an embankment on one side and a mature tree on the other. We skinned by the tree and rocked a bit on the roots but managed to get in. We also had to clear the way as there were rocks strewn near the sewer and the picnic table was in the middle of the site, but again all easy to shift. The site itself is not one I would ise again as it is parallel to the road with your firepit only 8 feet from the side of the trailer and no space for the picnic table. Again, this was just the site and we were grateful to get a reservation with just a couple days notice in the height of summer. Staff was friendly and the best part was the access to the Warren County Bike trail, with level paved bikeway and plenty of Geocaches along the way. We also met alot of friendly fellow campers and will not hesitate to return again. read more

Camp grounds was decent it was pretty busy for the week we booked . Site was good other then the sewer hook up . I thought we had a camper clog as I was having a horrible time dumping Grey water. Let alone black . After a couple hours working the hose I was finally able to get it clear just to find out we had no clog . I reattached decided to try and dump grey water after a day of showers and some dishes to yet again having a blockage . It comes to be the way the sewer line is installed in a side hill it gets air locked which causes a burp in the flow . Not allowing the water to drain and the fact it has to run uphill for a short Time it will not drain with out have to work the line . Adding a sewer vent near the dump would correct the problem. Pool was nice play ground was decent other then that not much for kids to do . There are definitely other grounds near by with more to do and more kid friendly. read more

This place is great. Tons of fun for the entire family! If you are into camping it's great and so close to lake George village.

So far, this is the nicest campground my wife and have been to. We absolutely love it here. Clean amenities, nice playgrounds, very dog friendly and large sites compared to the other campgrounds we have been to. Pay attention to the septic as it seemed to be a bit far from the the other services. In a rush to setup and had to redo, which I haven't done for a long time. Anyways, amazing place and and great easy back in site. Wifi is a bit weak. read more

Ok let's talk campgrounds and let's talk reality - if there was a 10 star this would rate it. I will agree the wifi is not so desirable but really who goes glamping oooops camping and wants wifi? Clean bathrooms, spotless showers, immaculate sites and a first rate staff! Seriously we showed up to our site and it was raked and clean including the awesome fire pit. Good times, family friendly and a walking trail to the lake (which was amazing)! We will be back again and again to King Philips. So should you! The town of lake george is awesome and the views are breathtaking. read more

King Phillips Campground & Resort - Always on the 4th holiday - Campgrounds Near Me - Lake George, New York

This campground has a great location and is near the bike trail all pluses. On the other side their electrical service was out of balance and kept tripping my surge protector. When I complained,I was told it was a problem with the electric company. Not really my problem. The more important issue was that their sewer plugged causing raw sewage to run out of our sewer connection and under our trailer. They sent an employee down who worked on it and left. It took a trip to their office to complain to get it repaired. They pumped their tank. No attempt was made to clean up the mess, they did put down a deodorant. They also offered 2 other sites the first was too small, the second would have required a large moving job and since we were with 2 other couples we decided to tough it out. The thing that was most irritating was their manager told me I should get a rabbits foot for good luck. My thoughts are they need to maintain their facility. read more

Traveling in a 38 foot coach we stayed 4 nights in a site for big rigs. The site we had lacked gravel and when it rained our pad turned into a mud pit. Is it that hard to put a little gravel down on the dirt? We did notice the sites in the very front of the park did have a good amount of gravel and were level. There are a lot of full-time residents in this park, sometimes when you have this many full-time residents the park gets a little trashy, but this park is very clean. If you have a dog, there are plenty of areas to walk your pet. This park is located in a quiet area. If we were to go back we would only stay in the front part of the park. read more

My husband and I wanted to "test out" our new to us pop-up-camper, so decided to stay somewhat close to home just in case. We chose King Phillip's because it was dog friendly, and we are 100% happy that we did. It is extremely clean and well maintained. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, and just as we ran out of wood for our campfire, along would come a pleasant worker on a golf cart with bundles of wood for sale to save the day! I agree with a previous post. If I could rate this campground a 10 star rating, I would. Best overall campground experience of our 13 day motorhome trip from North Carolina to New York. Trolley stop was convenient to the campground, check-in process was easy, sites are cleaned and racked between visitors. All sites and campers were well maintained. Convenient bathhouse locations. Only suggestion would be, an additional trash dumpster for the sites on the hill. We did not pull a vehicle and would have to carry our trash down each day. Look forward to returning next Summer. read more

This is the third year we've been here and because of a miscommunication probably on my part when I booked we ended up at the top of the hill. After 2 nights up there my husband was not happy and we went to the office to see if it was possible to change sites. My husband and I just spent a weekend camping here and will definitely come back! It was peaceful and relaxing. We appreciated the security of the place as well and everyone was very friendly. This campground is located near downtown and the outlet stores which was really nice. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is because we were told we had a pull-through site and when we got there it was not. My husband had quite the time backing up our camper which was a frustrating start to our weekend. But it all worked out! Make sure if you are promised a certain site, you get it! read more

This is not a wild and crazy camping spot by any means but always have a blast without complaints from the staff. We do respect other campers and that's most important for sure. King Phillips has come a long way in a very short time. The grounds are wonderful. The staff always seems to be doing improvements somewhere in the park. Brand new bathroom and shower facilities were completed and they are " Excellent"! The whole grounds are kept amazingly clean. There always seems to be a new landscaping project in progress that's appealing to us travelers. The nice folks who run this establishment have done an amazing transformation. The location is perfect for everything this resort town has to offer. A quick drive, a bike ride, a taxi, or the trolley shuttle that stops outside the entrance to the campgrounds generally gets you out to the sites and attractions. Really love this place and recommend to all. read more

Well, we started out being very excited about this place and getting to our site each weekend.... We have no complaints about the fellow campers or even the staff; everyone is nice and sociable. My husband being the type to not sit still for long... would get up and rake and work on the site; removing all the weeds and un-mowable grass and dirt that was on our seasonal lot. Trying to clean it up and make it low maintenance and looking good. (just let me add- nothing was manicured or perfect about this site at all- when we got there-it wasn't even "mowed", but we didn't care) The one weekend we were there trying to get settled in...he decided that he was going to ask if we could put stone down and so he did and he was told yes. So the next weekend we paid for and brought our own stone and spread it out and got our site the way we wanted it. We were trying to avoid the mud being tracked in and out of our brand new camper and the overall mess it creates when it rains. Part of the contract states that we have to mow our own lawn...keep it mantained but... you literally could not mow any part of it... maybe weed eat it, but it was not mow-able and it was scattered patches of crap weeds/grass, not nice manicured grass. We didn't ask anyone for anything through the process; we did it all ourselves with our own equipment. After 2 weeks went by the owner visits and tells us; it all has to come off. It's not the "look" they're going for. Don't get me wrong... I 100% get the look that camping is supposed to have... but if you take a look around the park... there are many seasonal sites that do not give the "look" of camping. By this I mean...permanent decks, sites completely covered with turf, full out landscaping with bushes and mulch, paver stones; fences etc. So I guess I am a little confused as to what the issue with stoning our site was? Not to mention there was already stone on our site when we got there, just not enough to spread it without spreading it too thin. I'm not trying to be rude or insult anyone else's site or any of the people there but I guess if you want to preach that you're going for a "look" -- a little consistency might make sense. I also realize it is not our property but there was nothing permanent about what we did and it was more "natural" then some of the other improvements that people made. In my opinion and by the numerous comments of fellow campers it looked great! But apparently it looked too good because its all being removed this weekend at our expense; again. Whole situation is just a shame and leaves me baffled; especially when I look around and see how some of the other seasonal sites are allowed to be left- as an owner I would be ashamed of those verse the well manicured site- but that is my opinion and I am not the owner. We thought we were doing the site and the owner a favor, but that back fired. Not looking forward to getting back to my site of dirt. Took all the excitement and enjoyment out of it. Sorry King Phillips Campground... not happy campers. read more
