Finding great tonkotsu ramen outside of Japan has become something of an obsession for me. I've…read morebeen disappointed by countless bowls over the years, from Michelin-recommended shops in New York to overhyped social media darlings that make you wonder whether the people promoting them have ever had truly great tonkotsu ramen. Konjiki is good, far from great, but very solid. The broth has the right consistency with a satisfying richness, falling just a touch short of the deep, creamy intensity I personally look for. The noodles were cooked perfectly, maintaining just the right amount of bite. Nothing ruins a bowl of ramen faster than overcooked noodles. The soft-boiled egg was equally well executed, with a perfectly jammy center, and the chashu had excellent flavor and texture. My biggest criticism isn't what's missing....it's what's added. Like many ramen shops outside Japan, Konjiki includes pickled ginger, pickled takana, and braised bamboo shoots. For me, none of them improve the bowl. In fact, I think they distract from what should be the star of the show: the broth. In hindsight, I could have easily asked for them to be left out, but I've never really understood why they're included in the first place. Even so, this is a very respectable bowl of tonkotsu ramen and one I'd happily order again.

Initially looked busy and thought there may be a wait, but the line was actually for the dessert place that shares the same entrance. I usually switch up my order between the Clam Ramens (shio and shoyu). Can definitely say that these are always made consistent (at least on every visit I've had), so there's no surprise. My friend ordered the Avocado Vegetarian Ramen as part of a set. We were both intrigued by the taste of the broth. It was creamy, but not super thick, and had a fresh, vegetal taste. One miss this time was that my friend ordered a drink, but unfortunately it did not come out at all while we ate. We mentioned it when asking for our bill and asked that it just be cancelled, which the server was apologetic about. Interior is kept clean, which some table seating along both walls and also a long high-top bar (communal) in the middle. There's isn't any parking designated to the restaurant, but there's options for paid street parking a short walk away.

Came here on a Friday night and had such a fun experience…read more The space has a great after dark vibe with dim lighting and neon accents, cozy but still lively. We ordered the oden set with yogurt soju, Taiwanese popcorn chicken, and the salmon fried udon with uni sauce. Everything was super comforting and flavorful, especially the oden on a cold night. What really made it stand out was the bingo game. It got the whole bar involved and made the night feel more interactive and social. We ended up chatting with a group nearby and even taught them a Malaysian yam seng cheers, which turned into a really fun moment. Great spot for a lively night out with good food and energy. Would come back.

But unfortunately, this time we got a bit disappointed. Platter was filled with cheap/frozen fries that I don't event want to put it in my system. Salmon udon looked so sad, and we couldn't finish it. Cocktail was not bad though. I liked their lighting and decorations. The server looks cute but doesn't seem to be knowledgeable when we had questions (and keep forgot our requests..) I support local businesses and hate to say this. But probably I may not come back anymore as now there are many other fusion bar options available in North York. *This is only personal opinion, and your experience might be different. I'm not mad or anything haha. Just being honest about what we had that day hoping this helps other Yelpers to decide where to visit or what to eat spending their precious time and money :)

The bar area is on the ground level with many TVs to catch your favourite Toronto teams playing while the upper level is a dining area. Like all other Keg locations, the menu features shareable appetizers, steaks, other mains, and desserts. They also have a wine and cocktail list as well. The Keg also has seasonal specials as well. I've been to The Keg numerous times especially at this location. My go to order is the prime rib with grilled vegetables and a glass of syrah wine. The caesar salad and escargot are good shareable appetizers as well. Recently, I tried the sticky toffee pudding dessert as part of their special feature menu and that was delicious! The warm bread and cheese/herb butter at the beginning of the meal is always a delight as well. Service wise, the staff are always friendly, attentive, and professional. I've never had an issue with service at this location. Overall, a great place for steaks - whether it is a date night, celebrating a special occasion, or treating yourself to a solo meal, you know what quality you are getting at The Keg.

The vibe feels like a mid to upscale Canadian restaurant, with low, atmospheric lighting, candle-lit tables (though ours wasn't lit for whatever reason), and good music. Food tastes great! No complaints there; my entire party enjoyed their meals and drinks. Although they said the bellini was a bit too sweet. Service was very subpar. Although all the employees are kind, they are much too busy running around and helping other customers to provide each table with great service. It took forever to catch our server's attention. We were celebrating a birthday and asked our server for the complimentary birthday treat (which was some sort of crème brûlée dessert) and after we did, it took very long for it to be brought out and we went over our 2 hour time limit. We thought she might've forgotten. As well, when we asked for our parking validation, our server walked away with our tickets without letting us know they'd be brought back by another employee. I really don't think the price of the meal justifies the mediocre service, but happy hour might be better? The underground parking is also a turnoff - pretty confusing trying to find it and navigate inside. Overall not a great experience coming here, but it wasn't the worst time.
