This store defines the meaning of "super store." Yes, it has a gas station on the premises. I suspect the revenue from this store places it in the top 5 grossing super markets in Colorado. I had a much better shopping experience at other King Soopers stores. This store was always overcrowded to the point where I was constantly getting stuck between carts. Despite it being filled to the brim, the leadership decided to build out its end cap displays, making aisles even narrower. read more

Ordered a fresh turkey, what we got was a previously frozen one that wasn't completely thawed. The turkey is labeled never frozen. We pulled out chunks of ice the size of a tennis ball. For what we paid we could have bought a cooked one from a different company. Will never purchase a turkey from here again. read more

This store is a dive. It has become a dump since Covid began and hasn't gotten any better after Covid or the strike was settled. We shop there only because of convenience in the location, but I will likely make the drive somewhere else now. We bought pork chops for dinner last night and they were on sale. This store continues to decline... not sure if it's bad management or corporate cut backs The staff a few years back were nice and helpful- not anymore The veg and fruit goes bad too soon and don't get me started on the "remodeled " floral department. The flowers are dead within a few days. When you take the cellophane off the leaves are all dry. I preordered flowers for a funeral and they were wilted roses! Ok the pharmacy is the worst. They are most likely short staffed. If a doc calls your script in it should not take 3 hours. The last thing you want to do when you're ill is wait and wait and then have to drive back to get it. This is now the 4th time it's taken this long the last time we will fill a script here. I travel every week for work and visit gorgeous stores. This pharmacy is the absolute worse!! Staff is incompetent and does not have an understanding of how to operate their computer programs. Staff and pharmacist struggled to find a script sent via dr office, for 3days and once they did, they regret to inform me they had just ran out of the script and couldn't transfer to another location! They were completely useless and then inconvenienced me, my dr and much more! Plus they're are always running out of meds! They're a pharmacy, that's what they do!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND! The two gentlemen at the Pharmacy were very kind and helpful. This is a very big King Soopers. My favorite one I have been to in the greater Denver area. There are many options here for Vegan, Vegetarian, Gluten free. They have a huge supplements section that sells things from homeopathics ( I'm Ill, and was so happy to get something natural to help- I had a brand of Cough medicine that was !Killing! My tum every time I took it, so bad that I couldn't take it even with small sips) Regular medicines, all natural medicines. Gonna cut this one short. They have coin star here, and Western Union. Pharmacy closes at 9. You can get cash back. Starbucks inside. Closes at Midnight. read more

As far as chain grocery stores go this King Soopers location will keep me coming back often. Located conveniently off Leetsdale with a gas station offering some of the cheaper gas in town (spend $100 on groceries in a month and get $.10 off a gallon). I always find the inside to be clean and well organized. A wonderful selection of produce and herbs for my cooking needs. I've only been left wanting on one visit when they were sold out of the herd I needed. I know they have a booze area and I have not had the pleasure of browsing their selection quite yet - it will happen sometime soon I imagine. I can always find what I need within a reasonable amount of time. The people working the registers are friendly and consistently make conversation with me which I find to be a nice change from the normal "hello and pay" jargon I usually get. One thing that stands out is that the parking lot for this King Soopers needs to be twice the size to accommodate the neighborhood. Based on location alone this place is packed and with the smaller sized parking lot people end up circling for a parking spot more often than not. I would steer clear of this location during busy times if you can. I find myself here more often these days and enjoy the consistency in service and product availability refreshing. read more

This is my favorite King Soopers location. It is very convenient since my parents live close by. I really like the wine, beer, spirits selection they have. The store is very clean, love the selection of regular and organic produce, canned goods and meat department. Plenty of parking and it is always busy. I love the fact they do a free download of different items every Friday. Also, make sure you fill out the survey on the receipt, since you can get 50 points good for gas every 7 days upon completion of survey. I also like the deli and bakery departments. read more

Angela A is incorrect, there are plenty of shopping cart return areas in the parking lot. I'm lowering my rating to 4 out of 5 stars. It's still my go-to King Soopers, it's clean, spacious and they do have a lot of items. However, this King Soopers seems to have a great deal of difficulty re-stocking. I've been back several times and the shelves are bare of various items. One example that comes to mind are K-Cups. They have almost completely been out since the holidays. It appears that it's an issue with management, since it's not just one item but many including produce. I hope they can get it together. read more

It's hard to review King Soopers. I'm a diehard Safeway person, probably will always be one. With that said, I came to this location today with my friend who wanted to see what the buzz what about. First of all it's pretty much like any other King Soopers, well the parking lot. No one having ANY direction what so ever, like it's the holiday season in the mall. I will admit it's huge and nice, well cause it's new. You can really tell they're going for the whole foods image with stations for food (upgraded deli, sushi, food bar, etc). They even had a strawberries and chocolate bar for v-day. We checked out and the workers are super friendly and personable. I will admit that I do enjoy that as Safeway is going to almost all self checkout. Overall, I probably wouldn't be back just because it's not close enough to my place, but if it were, I'd come here for deals. read more

I had such a lovely experience here today--the floral department were helpful and fun to chat with and Journeia (I'm not sure if I spelled this correctly!) was so sweet--I had the wrong glasses with me and don't normally shop at this location so I couldn't read the department/aisle signs and she guided me to exactly where I could find what I needed! Update after shopping there tonight. My 3 stars is now 1 star. Hey King Soopers in Glendale. When you say that your deli is open until 9:00 that does not mean shut down everything at 8:45. Turning away customers telling them "the slicers are all down" doesn't cut it. Yes, I went to the manager who called the deli manager. She then admitted with a shrug that "I guess they just wanted to clean up and be done early. " Seriously? Many other markets in the area with shorter lines. Incredibly frustrated with this store. Went to retrieve NY Strip steaks at $4.97 a lb and some 49 cent powerades as listed in the weekly add still up online and listing specials through today and they were unavailable. Couldn't find them and When I asked for help about it I was told they're no longer available and that's the way it works. Even though the sale is posted online through today. Then they closed all the checkouts down at 8:45. And I got to spend 20 minutes looking up all the produce I had bought in the self checkout. Couldn't be more frustrated. Disappointed again in the customer service this store consistently offers. When asking for a roll of quarters in change I've had customer service give me an attitude and act like it's a major pain to their job. Unhelpful staff while shopping... and rude interactions over the last 2 years have made me glad I am moving to a new neighborhood closer to a Trader Joe's. Great selection of high quality and organic goods! They also have sushi, an olive bar, and lots of prepared food if you need something fast. They are extremely busy on Sundays and I try to avoid going on Sunday because it takes so long. They do have frozen organic vegetables, but they are not with the conventional frozen vegetables so it can be confusing to find them. I also wish they carried a more full selection of Celestial Seasonings tea, organic spices, and would keep the tofu stocked. read more

The one star is for the liquor store. It has a good selection and good prices, and some of the staff members that work there are friendly and very knowledgeable about wine. Others are unfriendly and know nothing about wine or spirits. I seek out the friendly, knowledgeable staff members and avoid the others. So, where are the other 4 stars? Probably the same place as the people they need to adequately staff this store. Nowhere to be found. The deli is a train wreck. An "off the tracks, cars scattered everywhere, every car engulfed in flames" train wreck. Wait times of more than 20 minutes are common. I was there today and had the pleasure of standing around for 25 minutes with a large group of similarly angry customers. The deli staff is probably so sick of dealing with frustrated customers, they've simply given up. It's like being waited on by the walking dead. They're unengaged and they move at a glacial pace. When you tell them how long you've waited they give you that "zero fucks given, sir" look and ask you what you want. I watched people walk up and immediately get waited on while people who had taken a number watched in anger. Standing there, you can feel practically feel the rage and desperation of deli shoppers past. And once you get to the check-out lines, you get to wait some more. And some more. And then some more. Here's the thing - this is a nice store. It has a fantastic selection, it's huge, and they sell wine. This should be a flagship store for King Soopers. But it's not because store and regional management let it rot under an eternal dearth of competent, well-trained, friendly staff. Corporate headquarters needs to bring in people to stand there all day and and watch what happens for a few weeks. They'd be appalled and I guarantee the store's management team would be gone. And they should be; They've let what should be a crown jewel go up in flames. Corporate management needs to get creative, they need to put this store under a microscope, and they need to try to fix something that appears to be irreparably broken. read more

Here I thought my family was being too hard on me, after going back to work from a three year hiatus, when everyone acts like they are being potty trained against their will; when I broke a bottle of wine at the register, and a customer in line gave me a hard time. Hearing, "You should be shot!" ...WAS pretty horrible. Even though the staff at this King Soopers rallied graciously around me to save me from a tide pool of wine, as the fumes were assailing my newly opened nostrils and making me dizzy. Hey one ounce of wine does the same trick, but now a whole bottle of wine vapors were about to take me down. But this bottle of wine kept pouring out its liquid like someone took an ax to a wooden barrel. Indeed there was a secret passage under the floor trying to teach me a lesson. From securing the floor area to prevent falling, to mopping up the mess and using paper towels to handle the splatter, to an employee rushing to replace my wine, all the while being empathetic and kind about my accidental folly, it lessened the embarrassment. I turned to my accuser and questioned his theories with, don't you think you're being harsh? He actually asked me if I broke an expensive bottle of wine, and when I said no, he repeated his firing squad sentencing with.."You still should be shot!." Does he train Mr. Un in North Korea or run online courses on how to be a dictator? Maybe. I have learned something from this experience. Not to be too harsh with my family and to be more forgiving. I am practicing more patience even though I might develop a nervous tick. Trying to text my supervisor for an important manner, while people think I'm pondering their next yummy meal, I stop and try to appear diligent in their request and caring. Even while my brain ping pongs with scheduling conflicts, I am reminded that no matter how critical the family issue might seem to them, or how minuscule it might be to me, I cannot appear like a five star general trying to chastise people for not carrying their own weight, and coming up to my standards. Guys. Why the h*** does this place have 3.5 stars? It's among the fanciest grocery stores I've been to in my life and I'm including Paris, London and Nyc (which is the only reason it doesn't get 5 stars.) ... You know what? No. It gets five stars because it's a freaking GROCERY STORE in DENVER and goes above and beyond to cater to its community. This place has: - a full sit-down Starbucks, - a full wine & liquor store, - a sushi bar (pre-made and made to order) - a sandwich bar (pre-made and made to order) - a chipotle style burrito bar (made to order) - wood fired pizza bar (made to order), - grab and go lunch section for corporate peeps - a mochi ice cream bar - an antipasti olive and gourmet cheese bar - a giant organic fruits and veggies section and - a full normal grocery store behind all this. Y'all need to be less stingy, this place is fantastic. read more

This grocery store is nicely stocked. Their deli section is by far better than most other King Soopers in town. I like that it has a liquor store inside for those dinner parties I plan. Makes it easy to get food and booze all in one spot. It has become very congested with the pandemic. So figuring out the best times to go has been tricky. For the most part people wear their masks but I have seen some that do not. Not really enforced however, they do announce it over the loudspeaker pretty often throughout the day. I was told by multiple friends that recently while they were shopping at this kings they've gotten on the intercom and offered Covid boosters to guests while shopping. I've been trying to get a booster for over a week now. I've gone online multiple times to attempt to schedule an appointment for the booster at king Soopers website and it just keeps saying that "there are no boosters available in my area" before it gives me any sort of date option. So after several failed attempts and calling the pharmacy and them telling me to hold 45mins I just decided to go in. Imagine my surprise after being asked to hold for 45 minutes on the phone to find the pharmacy absolutely dead there was nobody in there except for two women working there and a male pharmacist. When I finally get one of the employees to come over to the counter to answer a simple two minute question they tell me they don't understand the system to schedule an appointment and don't know how to help me. In my confusion in the male pharmacist yells from across the pharmacy "if 30 people can figure out how to make an appointment for today you can too, go figure it out" I love how apparently 30 people could make an appointment to get a booster shot that day but not one of them was in the pharmacy in the middle of the day. Also It's so interesting when a patient has a question on how to book an appointment at their location they have no idea. I'm not sure who is encouraging or allows this man to yell across the pharmacy at patients but that was the most unprofessional behavior I've seen from somebody in a medical profession probably ever! read more

I feel like I was just on an episode of "Punked." On Friday December 10th, 2021 my doctor called in a new medication for me to the King Soopers pharmacy at 4600 Leetsdale Drive in Glendale Colorado. Today is December 16th. I have four autoimmune diseases and my family and I have been using King Soopers pharmacy since 2005. I've checked the status of the med several times over the last week - it is always "in progress." Since I was picking up another medication for my son I asked about it. The young lady who looked it up said I need preauthorization (no problem) but also they (King Soopers) may not be able to order it for me. At that moment a lady named Julie (older with grey hair) came over and became very obnoxious. She told me that no other King Soopers had it and I "needed preauthorization anyway." I asked if they had requested preauthorization from my doctor and she said she was going to "do it now." Then she stopped and said no, I needed to find another pharmacy that carried it. I said, "Ok, why didn't someone notify me of this? It's been a week and I fly out on vacation Monday. If I'd known you couldn't fill it I would have found a pharmacy that could." Her response: "Why did you wait till the last minute to try to get it filled?" "Excuse me?" I said. "I saw my doctor on the 16th and that's when she prescribed this new med for me." Then she walked away from me and said loudly enough for everyone to hear "I can see the glass is always half empty for her." And she kept muttering under her breath and shaking her head like someone who is unstable. At that point I asked for her name. She rudely told me Julie. The sweet little girl wringing up my son's medication looked mortified. Julie kept making faces and muttering and saying she was "just trying to help" until I finally told her to please stop talking to me and paid for my son's medication and left. I understand that customer service people are under a lot of stress these days. I understand many businesses struggle to keep employees and even perhaps hire employees they would not have hired pre-pandemic. But I don't thinking asking her why I wasn't notified that they couldn't fill it when they'd had the script for a week was rude and set her off. Her behavior was unacceptable. If you want to lose more customers then keep employing this woman. I could have understood if she'd just said, "I don't know why you weren't notified." But instead she acted like it isn't their responsibility, that it was unreasonable of me to expect them to notify me that they couldn't fill it and then proceeded to insult me and act obnoxious. This employee should not deal with customers. I've never had an issue like this before. Not the problem with getting the med - I'll figure that out. I mean I've never seen such a blatantly obnoxious and rude employee in the King Soopers pharmacy like this. My family and I will find another pharmacy when I return from vacation. And you can bet I'm letting my friends and other family members know about this. Good luck because she's definitely going to lose you more customers. Got my COVID vaccine today. Quick and pain free. Great helpful pharmacy. The wait was minimal: in and out within 25 minutes on a busy Saturday afternoon. One pharmacist and two techs efficiently handled the continual flow of walk-in and drive-up customers. --- As for the grocery store, it's expansive with a Starbucks and liquor department. Some sale items tend to fly off the shelves before they can restock, so timing is key. --- Plenty of parking, gas station, and corner location with easy access. --- I noticed a couple of people without masks. They aren't worth fighting. I'm weary of wasting energy on them. They only seek attention. Those self-entitled, selfish jerks can be found in every city. I can only shake my head and roll my eyes at the parents who raised them. That aside, this is my local Kings and I like shopping here. read more

Fiasco! Doctor called in Rx on Friday to pharmacy in store. Attempted to pick it up Saturday. Not ready and told they hadn't intended to fill it until Monday (Dr. told me it would be ready Friday afternoon). I said I'd wait and shop and return to pick it up shortly. I shopped for 45 minutes then got in a 30 minute long line before it was my turn. Meanwhile, while I waited in line a man (not wearing a mask) was encouraging his dog to bark (could be heard half way across a busy store) and jump in the air and basically be as boisterous as possible, making the elderly man in front of me and me very nervous. Finally after 20 minutes I went and got a manager who came over spoke briefly with dog owner and then told me the dog owner claimed the dog is a service animal (no service animal collar insignia) and there was nothing they could do. The offending dog owner saw the manager talk to me and challenged me to an argument. I did not take the bait and he left. It was finally my turn to get my Rx and it still was not ready. I cancelled the Rx and left empty handed leaving a cart with what had to be $300 worth of groceries (now very warm) behind. Gee thanks King Sooper. I won't be returning. Question: How can your pharmacy be so incompetent? Question: When did I get fewer rights than a jerk of a dog owner? read more

OMG! I didn't think it was possible to love a "regular" grocery store outside of the realm of Whole Paycheck. This King Soopers has everything you could ever imagine and more. This location has a pretty decent selection of fresh produce - organic and regular. They have a huge selection of fresh herbs for your cookery or mad drink making skills. Not only do they have a huge variety of every kind of food stuff a grocery store might have, they even have alcohol at this location! I am a huge fan of anything that saves me time (even 5 minutes) and love the fact I can pick up some booze to accompany the items I am planning on picking up. Another plus, is this location has a gas station. I find myself stopping at this gas station quite a bit as it is on my way home from the gym. It does get pretty crazy at times, but I'm assuming that's because you can get your discount from shopping at the chain. If you live far away from this location I feel sorry for you as this is probably the best King Soopers I have ever been too! EVER! read more

Wow, never shopping here again. I came here on a weekday afternoon. On the way in a car almost hit my 5 yr old and I, then inside two customers hit me from behind with their carts and didn't apologize. When we left the store we almost got hit by a car AGAIN (both times by cars speeding through the stop signs in the crosswalk outside the entrance). Then in my car leaving, I stop at the crosswalk as two ladies walk in front of my car. The entitled Cherry Cretion in the BMW behind me starts honking like I should run over the pedestrians. Sorry Cherry Cretions, I'm from the part of town where other people matter a little bit. Thank God Trader Joe's came to Denver! Crazy people here! I come here all the time but be prepared to wait a majority of the time , especially on the weekend's. Angie is the best she is super fast and my order's are always right on. Judy helped me today and she was very wonderful and very efficient. I'm a Safeway girl by habit but had to stop in at this King Soopers because by God I can get booze there. I've been back many times since then, mainly because of the booze part. Very pretty produce selection, though one star off as they never seem fully stocked with basics like simple greens and fruits (had to have an employee dig through boxes in order to find spinach -- pardone?). But there's a lot of neat colors to look at, and good deli items, and dollar for dollar there are better deals here than Safeway. And the wine selection is decent. The cashiers and staff are far better than decent -- they're great. Quick, efficient, helpful. But there are a lot of people at this King Soopers --- all the time. It's crowded. Bustling. Jockeying for position in grocery aisles is not my cup of tea, but I guess lots of people means this is a good store. And it is. read more

This Soopers is the Soopers to rule them all! Open 24 hours so I can do my shopping at 9pm when no one is there. An awesomely amazing natural section that has basically stopped me from needed to go to Whole Foods more than once a month. Tons of vegan options (Vega protein! Daiya! Gardein! Simple Truth Organic!). Lots of organic options from cereal, to beans, to produce. A Gas station that is in the same parking lot so I can used my fuel points right away. Seriously, finding this Soops was game changing. I went from going to 2-3 groceries a week (I'm a high maintenance eater, apparently) to just coming here with Trader Joe's squeezed in once in a while. read more
