We absolutely love king tiger martial arts! My 6-year-old has been attending for a few months now, and the growth we've seen has been incredible. Not only are they learning strong karate skills, but their confidence, focus, and discipline have improved so much. One of the biggest differences we've noticed is in school. The lessons they've learned in class about respect, listening carefully, and staying focused have really carried over into the classroom. Their teacher has even commented on how much they're excelling and how much more confident and attentive they've become. It's amazing to see how the skills from karate translate into everyday life. Master C is patient, encouraging, and truly wonderful positive role model to these young kids!!! All the instructors keep the classes fun and engaging while still teaching structure and responsibility. My child looks forward to every class and is always excited to show and tell master c the good work he's done outside of the studio! The studio is clean, safe, welcoming, and has such a positive, supportive atmosphere. It really feels like a community. I don't take martial arts lessons but our halau practices here on Sundays. It is a nice sized studio that they keep nice and clean. They have a large main room, a yoga room and a smaller practice room. I love walking in and seeing the inspirational things they have on their wall and front windows. read more

I don't take martial arts but my class holds practices here every Sunday. Am newbie but the amenities look top notch- as you enter there is a counter with essentials as merchandise for sale. As you enter the dojo, mirrors live the front wall, the entire dojo area is lined with cushioned mats. There's a TV in the rear wall, am sure good to watch instant replays of martial arts demo's or competitions. Planking the TV are nam chuks, sticks, etc.The left side has benches for audience to watch and cubbies with trophies on them. On the opposite wall are the American and Korean flags.hanging overhead from the ceiling are posters seemingly made by students here. There are at least three reasons why being a part of KTMA is important to me. The first would be that I'm able to challenge myself as an individual, pushing outside of my normal comfort zone, and pursuing something beneficial to me. Then, to show my children if you want something in life you need to earn it and work hard for it. This expectation does not stop with childhood but will follow you through to adulthood. One of the final reasons is to continue to further immerse in taekwondo and Korean culture. My four children and I are a part of this studio. Instructor Perida (2 classes) Master Cielo (1 class) Seriously intense. Great exercise. Strength building. Focus. Learn self defense moves. Camaraderie with fellow classmates. Respect is always shown for instructor, self and peers. The children's class was before my class each day and I really see what a great impact this can have in a young child's or teen's life (respect, strength, discipline, self-confidence, character, follow-through). Instructor Perida was very patient with me. On my part, I tried everything that I was instructed to do, never having the "I can't" attitude. I really had the most wonderful time here. I'm not particularly athletic and hadn't been engaging in any workout-type activities in the weeks prior to taking the class so I definitely did not feel physically ready for this challenge. The first class I took was on a Thursday which turned out to be an intermediate class (oops). We were dripping sweat onto the mat half-way through every class. What I really appreciated is that during certain portions of the class when they were doing advanced moves Instructor Perida would instruct myself and the other newbie to repeat one of the earlier moves, or do the simpler kick rather than the combination kicks. The class consist of the warm-up to get your blood flowing and get your muscles and joints loosened up, the workout/instruction period, and the cool-down. After these classes I felt stronger, more confident and capable in my abilities like I could take on other challenges. And I am grateful to have learned a few great self-defense maneuvers. A few weeks after my last lesson I had the privilege of seeing the students and instructors of King Tiger Martial Arts do a skills demonstration synchronized to music at a festival. It was a wondrous spectacle. It was such showmanship. A splash of punches and lunges and kicks and flips and faux fighting with sticks. I was in such awe of their precision, their movements in unison they were so in sync. Power and determination behind each deliberate motion it was indeed a great performance. Master Cielo and all the staff are amazing. This is not just a martial arts school, it is a small family community. We met Master Cielo at an event with the Virginia Beach Public schools where he was teaching about anti-bullying and what steps to take to prevent and/or get out of a bullying situation for kids. He is an amazing and inspirational teacher. The programs he teaches falls inline with our family values and the core values that all children should be learning. He not only teaches them martial arts, he reinforces good citizenship and education. His programs include self discipline, healthy habits, book reading, and practice that are all requirements signed off by parents to a certain level before the next belt test can be taken. On top of everything that is being taught we have fun in the classes also. Family events, small friendly competitions, and a parents group to help it be a full family experience. read more

Regularly scheduled family events and fun for kids and adults of all ages.The owner is not out to set a money trap another reviewer suggests, as consumers we all have options to purchase merchandise elsewhere. Master Cielo routinely volunteers his time to our local public schools. Unbeknownst to many he also offered free classes to a group of high risk youth for more than 2 years; many of these teens were on probation or had been locked up. I watched each of them give him their hard earned respect and they positively responded to his mentoring. They looked forward to each class and for its duration I watched them transform into unbroken teenagers who once again felt good about themselves and believed they could accomplish anything. Omg, how wrong I was. I picked this place and have been so disappointed. Shortly after signing our 1 yr contract the main teacher left. Master Cielo began to teach less and less leaving it to the 14-16 yr old red/black and black belts or Ms.Bobby (she does so much and tries so hard) to teach and to answer phones. He did get a new instructor but between birthday parties, running the front desk, and running classes I'm sure the teacher to child limit is well over regulation. I thought you actually had to pass your test to get the belt but you really don't. You can mediocre half ass through it and you'll get it. It's just a racket to get money, that's why they have more belts/colors then most TKD schools. Where I really notice do own bad it was, was when we started going to tournaments. Yellow belts from other schools knew far more advanced techniques, they used weapons (not taught at all till red belts the KTMA), there sparring was superb, basically they were way better than our green and blue belts. And it kept happening. When you go you are impressed by the older black belts but don't be fooled! The instructors who trained them aren't there anymore. Your kid will not get that and you will be stuck in a contract. Whatever you do, don't sign the 3 yr contract! Since this is so long I won't get into the safety hazard that "summer camp" was. Don't do it. Oh yeah , ask around you will find different people pay different amounts for the same classes at the studio. Awesome eh? read more

Both my sons who are 7 and 6 yrs old go goes here and it was one of the best decisions my husband and I made. My oldest been going for 3 yrs and my youngest for the past 4 mons. My youngest was having difficulties with his confidence as well as his behavior afterhe started King Tiger his behavior has improved as well as his shyness. I highly recommend them!!! read more

I went for a free trial day. Upon arriving they took us to the class for the 3-5 kids. The instructor, a lady did not greet us or anything just simply look at us with an attitude and told us no shoes. My son was so excited for this class when I told him but as soon as he saw the instructor being rude he did not want to even participate. This was his first time and when he was called to the front the instructor told him to do skills that he did not knew and did not even show him just told him that if he was not participating to go and sit down. She really put my son down and that is not all. They are to kick an xray film with their foot. The instructor came to show my son who was holding his grandmother since he was terrified of the instructor lady. The instructor told him to kick it and if he didn't do it then she would hit him with it on the head.. which she did twice. HOW INAPPROPRIATE! Then she told him not to act like a victim and hit him again with it while he almost started crying. She acted like a completely bully towards my son. We came out of the class so disappointed and met with the owner, who did a wonderful job talking to my son but did not really address the issue and I felt like we were completely ignored when I later explained to him what had happen. The owner did a great job at teaching the second class but unfortunately I will not recommend this business. The teacher who teaches on Saturday morning is the worse and a bully! My concerns and what my son went through were completely ignore. read more

My five year old just didn't take to this sport. We struggled to get him out the door every week. We gave it a good go for four months then had to throw in the towel. Kind of hard if you live in Atlanra, GA., This is a great class and the kids also enjoy it. I have studied other places and also enjoyed there classes. Master "C" is deceiving parents after their trail period. We did a quick quote/write up less than 5 minutes in December with possibility of starting in January. I never gave him my bank information. And he had me to believe it was just a quote for a membership. Meaning if I'd come back later than January the price could increase and I couldn't get the "great discount" I was offered. I told Master C a couple days later that unfortunately I was not going to be able to do this after talking to my husband. He just gave me a sad face and explained what a great program it was. What a joke! My son broke his foot at their Christmas party during the trial period since the side room stairs are poorly constructed. No one ever called me to tell me to come back, check on my son who was injured there, or tell me that I apparently signed a contract without my knowledge. Since then I have been receiving calls that I owe money to Member services; they told me I should of known what I was doing. Master C never takes any of my calls. They want me to pay $2400 for no service! I have not taken my son back there since the Christmas party (broken foot)! And the reception (Chris) says he can't even find my "contract" but guess who has it Member services who says I owe them. I'll be taking King Tiger to small claims court since he lied about everything. He can pay Member services my account balance since I received no service!! read more

This place is a joke, kids might have fun and break boards, even maybe learn some basics. However I trained here for over a year, when I went to the lead instructor's former teacher, the Former teacher said this guy was no good, a bad student with no black belt, and only after money and popularity. I found this to be true too. I left the school for a real teacher, but not until I found out the instructor was sleeping with the secretary, while married. I would rather throw my money in a fire than give it to this chump. Let me give you a review of 2015. Similar to what a previous reviewer said, this place gives false advertisement and is a money trap. Bought their groupon promo, tried out their kid's program then they want you to sign in a contract which is not part of the groupon deal. They will tell you about their current specials to make you sign into their contract. Look for a sign behind the front desk, "tuition fees are non-refundable." They make you well aware of that so they will not be held accountable later on. The program is supposedly design for kids and their martial arts capability. Kids do not understand what's behind every business ordeal when you sign them in any extracurricular activities so parents be aware. I liked the instructor very much. Had no problem at all with the school. The Major Malfunction is with Member Solutions in Hatboro, Pa. Thats the company who handles billing for your member fees. I'll skip the long story. Just make sure you keep your contract because Member Solutions will continue to bill you when you only agree to a set number of months/payments. they are criminal. My bank is fixing it for me. they said to avoid unauthorized reoccurring payments, you should give a business your checking acct routing number and acct number, NOT card number. Those are harder to undo. read more
