Chesapeake Property Management

(22 reviews)

I've been a client of Chesapeake Property Management for almost two years now, and the experience…read morehas been outstanding. The right property management company will treat your property as if it's their own, and that's always been the case with Chesapeake. Whether it was handling issues with my tenant or ensuring I got my annual tax paperwork, their team has always approached my property with my best interests in mind while at the same time providing exceptional service to my tenant. In the few instances where there have been problems (most recently a leak in the ceiling) they were on top of the situation and my tenant was taken care of within a matter of hours, and I had emails with pictures of the damage waiting in my inbox. However, most of the time I honestly forget that I have a rental property, and that's the best compliment I can give Chesapeake. I trust completely that they are taking care of my property, and so far they have yet to let me down!

As an active-duty military service member stationed over 2,000 miles away, I trusted Chesapeake…read moreProperty Management and their real estate team to care for my home. That trust has been completely destroyed. After months of poor showing feedback, I repeatedly asked about the condition of my home and the reported odors. I was assured everything was fine and that it only needed a little paint and new carpet. Unable to get straight answers, I flew over 2,000 miles to inspect the property myself. What I found was unacceptable. The home was listed for sale in a filthy condition with an overwhelming dog urine odor. The laundry room and garage, where the dog had been confined, smelled terrible, and the damage to the laundry room door was obvious. These were not minor issues, and there is no way they went unnoticed. The most disappointing part is the lack of honesty and communication. Had anyone simply told me the truth, I would have immediately approved deep cleaning and repairs instead of allowing my home to sit on the market in a condition that likely drove buyers away. After paying Chesapeake Property Management for more than two years, I expected my investment to be protected--not neglected. I have lost all confidence in Linda, Mary, and everyone involved in managing and marketing my home. As a military family, we depend on property managers because we can't simply stop by to check on our homes. I should never have had to travel across the country just to learn the true condition of my own property. After seeing the condition of the home I fully understood why it did not sell, I myself would have never purchased this house in this condition.

Schiff Home Team of EXP Reality - Left foot prints all across our flooring, I guess whatever keeps her clients happy, even at the cost of disrespecting the sellers home.

This…read moreignorant woman Yamna Monroy (the realtor) with her client and multiple young children comes into our home and she allows the buyers children to continually run in and out of our home, leaving debris across our floor. Incredibly unprofessional, clearly only caring for her client and not for the homes she is showing. Not only that, she arrived over ten minutes late leaving her clients sitting in their car during the rain. And made no effort to take accountability for her tardiness when we were heading back into our home assuming it was a no show. That part was excusable because I understand some people are raised with no manners, but to not correct your client whose children disrespect one's home, that's just sad. Beware showing your home with this realtor, she has no care for you or your home.

Jake Horowitz and his team helped me through this entire process, even going as far as reassuring me and assisting in handling negotiations, managing maintenance, researching HOA docs etc. Five star service is what he provided. From day one, he truly listened to our needs and gave thoughtful recommendations about what would be a good long-term investment versus what might end up being a money pit. He wasn't the type to push for a quick sale--in fact, he pointed out property damage and issues we might've missed on our own, which really built our trust. He stood out among all the other real estate agents we attempted working with. Thanks to his guidance and expertise, we ended up getting our top-choice home in just eight days! The process was seamless from start to finish. Even recently, when we needed to relocate, Peter offered to help us find renters and has continued to be supportive. We'll absolutely be working with him again when it's time to sell. As first time home buyers, we felt we got amazing value for the services provided. Highly recommend Peter and the Red Cedar Real Estate team for anyone looking for a knowledgeable, genuine, and reliable agent.

The best way to describe Peter and Red Cedar is high touch, white glove - concierge service. Peter knew the market and had a powerful team of equally adept realty professionals. Nothing happened without Peter's knowledge and he always focused on what was best for us: Initially meeting through closing. Here's where the professionalism goes to another level - Peter builds relationships with his clients, throws mixers, and checked up on us a couple of times per year. And, he DIDN'T ASK US FOR THE NEXT DEAL each time he subtly checked in on us over 5 years! He and his team cares about you - long term not just to get a sale. After 5 years of relationship building, we called Peter and the Red Cedar team for support. He came over. We completed representation paperwork, his AMAZING 360 degree Ariel and interior video/photography genius turned up and transformed our house into a buyer's beacon that sold our home within 24-48 hours of posting - FULL PRICE OFFER!!!! This is Red Cedar - all day long. After getting an offer, Peter and his team coordinate every document, appointment, and follow-up like a well oiled machine. The signing appointment was completely painless without any hiccups in the paperwork or payout - again, Peter and Red Cedar are professionals and the service providers (Ex. Title Company) were exceptional too. Thanks Peter and Red Cedar for your exemplary support, education, and caring over 5 years!

The office staff is great about helping out with packages and deliveries--there are lockers in the mailroom for packages, or if it won't fit in a locker they'll hold it in the leasing office for you. Office staff will notify you right away if you receive a delivery, everyone is good with communication in general. The building itself is well-maintained. The leasing office staff holds social events for residents which is a good way to meet people in the building. It's a wonderful place for dogs--and their owners. It's right next to the park and everyone in the building is understanding about having a pet. Having parking in the building is a huge benefit. I feel safe being able to park my car in the garage. One time there was an issue with the automatic door to the garage (a malfunction that was quickly fixed) during the interim, while they were fixing it, they had a security guard standing outside the garage for us. I thought that was impressive--they are pretty on top of things. I've only lived here in the winter so I haven't experienced the courtyard or rooftop deck, but am looking forward to doing so. The gym is beautiful--it's huge, and never super crowded. I am not much of a workout person but I appreciate it. Finally, I think rent here is a touch lower than other apartment complexes in Baltimore. I highly recommend 101 Ellwood to anyone in the market for an apartment! Jen G.
