Pork fried rice was good but smelled burnt. Fried wontons were good but very small compared to other restaurants. The Mei fun was not what I imagined, no seasoning no cabbage/lettuce, no coloring and they added onions even though we asked for no onions. Just bland. I ordered chicken with broccoli in garlic sauce. The chicken was overcooked and mushy. The garlic sauce was thick and bland. The white rice was very pasty. We also ordered pork fried rice which was over sauced and very salty. My wife ordered chicken chow main that was colorless, salty and lacked flavor. Everything was well below average to this point. However, we did order one item that was just plain bad. The wonton soup. The wontons tasted old. Very old! Like the were frozen and thawed multiple times. I couldn't tell the difference between the dough and meat filling. Mush! The broth was dark brown with a strange flavor and tasted old as well. All in all nothing we ordered tasted fresh at all. It's been a few years since I last ordered from King Wok. It used to be alright. Perhaps this was just a bad night? Whatever the case it will be a long time until I order from King Wok again. I have no Idea what happened tonight because usually this place is very good. Tonight hands down was the worst Chinese takeaway I've EVER had. Hot and sour soup was salt and cabbage... no other flavors. Szechuan dumplings were drowned in some sort of soy concoction rendering them inedible. Came here on lunch one day during work. They have a good lunch hour special were the rolls are $3 each. That was a nice surprise. Didn't take long for them to make it either so I made it back to work in time. Philadelphia rolls are my thing. This one was average to me. But I would definitely come back to try their Chinese food too and other rolls especially because of their specials. read more

Have been a fan of King Wok for years. Alas, I admit a couple of the poor reviews in the past year or two cause me to shy away. Sometimes a good place just tanks. But, a couple of the newer reviews draw me back to "take a chance". My last menu indicates that my Singapore Chow Mei Fun is $9.50, but the new menu price is $10.95. Egg rolls also rose from $1.55 to $1.80. I did not know this but paid the price and got a free soda with the coupon from their web site. It is hard to complain when the food is simply delicious. The crispy and appetizing egg roll is a bit larger than some others. The Singapore Chow Mei Fun comes in a standard 7" container, but of the taller variety. This is a lot of food with a fair amount of meats. I almost forget my Soy Sauce as the food is simply outstanding and does not need any more seasoning. I down my egg roll with the help of Chinese mustard packs. I wish the prices were still cheaper. But hey, they have to pay rent and eat too. I am betting they are eating their own great food. This place isn't bad. I actually really enjoy their sushi here. But they bumped up the price and it's more than their competitors (actual sushi restaurants). Often they tell you a time it will be ready on the phone and when you get there it's not ready. I usually try egg rolls, remembering from when I was a kid getting egg rolls packed with pork, but am disappointed almost every time, till I came here to King Wok.
