The waiter starts telling me about the specials. After he was finished, I told him a want a 16oz Ribeye and a glass of Caymus. No bread basked needed. Also, can you throw on one or two long hots? Yes sir! Now this is what I would eat at home. I'd buy a nice steak with a good glass of wine. Did I just describe my last meal before I head up to the pearly gates? Yeah.. Prime 94 SteakHouse makes a good steak. The cook was perfect, it was a little fatty but that's the flavor! The french fries are something similar to a diner fry, they were really good as well. Okay, I can finally leave an in-person review! We've gotten takeout on Mondays a few times for their prime rib special. One of those nights my order was delayed and a couple of sides were missing, but they were extremely apologetic and even offered us a discount, which I really appreciated. Tonight, my husband and I decided to have a quick date night and finally dine in. I honestly can't remember the names of the cocktails we ordered, but they were seasonal, delicious, and beautifully presented. The bread wasn't my favorite, but I'm not taking off any points for that. It's free, and honestly, I'd rather not fill up on bread before the meal anyway. For appetizers, we ordered the cast iron shrimp and the slab bacon. The shrimp was so good. My husband thought it was a little salty, but I thought it was just really well seasoned. I'd honestly go back just for that dish. The bacon was good, but it wasn't as hot as I would have liked. I personally like my food piping hot, so that's just a preference. The star of the night was the Cowboy Prime steak. It was absolutely delicious, great seasoning, a perfect sear, and full of flavor. The temperature wasn't exactly what we ordered, but it was still an incredible steak. It came with vegetables, and even as someone who isn't a big fan of veggies, I really enjoyed them!! For sides, we had the hand-cut fries and a side of the corn risotto. If we had one complaint about the meal, it would be the risotto. It was overcooked and tasted like a basic risotto with corn kernels mixed in. It just wasn't what we expected. Thankfully, the steak was so good that it completely made up for that disappointment. We skipped dessert because we were both completely full, but we'll definitely be back. I also wanted to mention that the service was a little slow at the beginning. Quick update. I consider myself a semi regular at Prime dining in or taking out a few times a month. The food and service are better than ever. And, considering the quality, the value is pretty decent as well. A few recommendations. Prime rib, available only on Monday is outstanding. NY Strips and Rib Eye, are always a solid choice. The Steak Sandwich is absolutely incredible, trust me. Plus, their Pork Chop is amazing when its available. My only negative is that the dress code has become lax over time. I'm not a fancy guy. But for the first several years there was an upscale vibe and guests dressed appropriately which made the experience feel premium. Now it isn't all that uncommon to see guests wearing worn out tee shirts, sweat shirts, flip flops, cutoffs, etc. Nothing crazy, but a collard shirt and no flip flop code would be a fair. Great spot in Fairfield! Amazing is really the best word to describe it. Prime 94 is a beautifully decorated steakhouse with a great atmosphere. There's bar seating if you want to catch a game, along with plenty of seating throughout the restaurant. Reservations are recommended, but if you stop in, the staff truly makes an effort to accommodate you -- which is always a plus. I ordered the filet mignon burger with sliced tenderloin, caramelized onions, mushrooms, Swiss cheese, and horseradish mayo. The photos don't do it justice. It was perfectly prepared, incredibly flavorful, and absolutely delicious -- I'm still thinking about it. Our server was fantastic: super friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. I've been to Prime 94 twice. The first time was for a friend's birthday dinner, and the second time was a casual visit to grab burgers with my family. The first time I had a steak with a loaded baked potato and the second time I had a burger. Everything was excellent. Portions are generous, and the quality is really good for the price. The French fries are especially crispy and light, a must-try. Service was good on both visits and the atmosphere is a little more upscale than a typical chain steakhouse, but not overly fancy. For the birthday dinner, we had a reservation since it was a larger group but the second time we walked in. This place is ALWAYS busy. Prices are reasonable given the great quality. I'd recommend Prime 94 for a nice dinner out or even a drink after work. read more

Very delayed review, but my wife and I went here in July for our 35th anniversary dinner off recommendation from a friend. Our friend attended culinary school and owns/manages a restaurant, and is certainly a fellow "foodie." She raved, so we went! Not disappointed at all, the service was top notch but not "in your face" in annoying fashion. I had a few beers, my wife had a cosmo or two. Started with Carpaccio and calamari, both favorites of ours and fantastic. Calamari was perfectly crunchy and tasteful, and they brought the red pepper flakes upon request. I got the prime rib, which is a Monday night special and I'm told if you don't get there by 6:30pm, you run the risk of them running out. That was truth, as the table next to us arrived 20 minutes after we ordered and were denied as they had no more. Amazing. Although a ribeye is my go to, I just couldn't resist the strong recommendation on the prime rib and I was not disappointed. My only regret was not ordering the larger portion, it was fantastic. So flavorful with a dipping sauce/gravy to die for. The long peppers my wife ordered as a side really packed a punch, wow were they good. Photo included of all! Don't sleep on Prime 94! This restaurant rivals all the best well known steak houses in the area and dare I say, is actually better! Great for a casual meal if you're in the mood for a burger, sandwich, or salad. Also a fantastic option for a steak dinner with all the fixings. Their steaks are juicy, tender, and cooked to perfection. The octopus appetizer is a must - I usually order it every time I come here. It's always tender and cooked perfectly. I also love the blackened tuna salad if you're looking for a lighter non-meat option. My one recommendation is that if you want to come on a Friday or weekend evening, make a reservation over a week in advance (at least!). It was our second visit as a family. We had a great Tomahawk steak on our first visit, so we decided to return to celebrate my wife's birthday. The restaurant was packed as usual, but we were seated right on time according to our reservation. My daughter ordered a filet mignon for its softer texture, and I had a ribeye. The ribeye was a bit tough but tasted okay. We also ordered mashed potatoes as a side dish, thinking it was included with the steaks -- our mistake for not confirming with the waitress. However, since we all ordered the same mashed potatoes (which was a large portion), it would have been helpful if she had mentioned that it wasn't included or suggested sharing one portion instead. Unfortunately, my daughter couldn't eat her steak because it had a strong blood smell. My wife and I tried it as well, and we were also bothered by the same issue. We ended up not being able to finish the meal. It was a very disappointing experience, especially after driving 30 miles from the Fort Lee area. Wifey and I, and another couple, were here a few weeks ago and we had a great time at Prime 94. The place was packed, but we had a reservation...even so, we had to wait about 15 minutes so we had a drink at the bar. When we were seated we had round two of drinks - I think they were all specials - and they were all delicious, though they did take a bit too long to arrive. I get that they were busy, but at a premium steakhouse like this I expect premium service and they were just a bit slow that night. We started with some salads and put in our orders for entrees. Two ribeyes and two filets with sides of Brussels sprouts, truffle mashed potatoes, and creamed spinach. We also ordered a bottle of wine. Our meals were absolutely delicious and mine was cooked to a perfect medium rare. Between the drinks and the meals, you'd have thought we were full...but no. We finished off the night with a couple desserts (chocolate lava cake and an apple crumble cheesecake) and a couple after dinner drinks (one Sambuca and one Bailey's). This place had such a great feel to it and we were seated in the back away from the hustle of the door and the bar. The food was fantastic, but like any steakhouse, you're paying a premium. I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at Prime 94. When we made our 5:30 reservation, we were told we would need to leave by 7:30. That would have been completely understandable, if we were actually seated on time. Instead, we weren't sat until 5:40. Three members of our party (7 total) arrived about five minutes later, but the delays only got worse from there. It took at least 20 minutes just to place our drink order. The drinks themselves were slow to come out, and then we waited another 45 minutes just to place our appetizer order. The service was consistently delayed throughout the entire meal. As soon as we finished our entrees and placed our dessert order, the manager on duty sent us a text saying we needed to leave because the next party was waiting. We asked our waitress to pack the desserts to go, but she encouraged us to stay since it was two people's birthdays that we were celebrating. When we got our desserts, the waitress also dropped off the check and made a very snarky comment" so neither of us gets in trouble". Not even a minute later the manager came over and asked if we were ready to pay. When we expressed that we had waited multiple times for drinks and food and that the delays were not caused by us, his response was, "I know my waitress and she's very fast," which completely dismissed our concerns. To make matters worse, one person in our party overheard the manager at the host stand asking our waitress if it was "the kitchen's fault" that we took so long. She responded "no" and said it was our fault because we were "15 minutes late to our reservation." That was simply not true, and it was incredibly unprofessional to speak about guests that way within earshot. Not only was it inaccurate, but it felt disrespectful and dishonest. It's extremely frustrating to be rushed out of a restaurant,especially during two birthday celebrations, when the timing issues were clearly on the restaurant's end. The entire night felt disorganized, stressful, and poorly managed. Unfortunately, based on this experience, we won't be returning. read more

The bartender said that there were no seats available at the bar, maître D had had to step in and get me a seat at the bar. That's who he spent all this time and attention on taking care of their orders and make sure they had proper service. I've dined here a few time very disappointed tonight though. Chopped salad was not good and long hots weren't hot. NY Strip was fine, cooked perfectly and a really nice cut of meat. The waiter was attentive and did a nice job also. Then at the end on the night they ruined the experience. A different waiter or busboy cleared my high top without even asking if I wanted anything wrapped. I had a spinach side that I didn't even have a forkful of. He then proceeded to present me with a check that wasn't mine and was nearly double. He said sorry but they threw out the spinach. I said no problem, just take it off the bill the waiter wasn't very nice about it and said he would have to ask the manager / owner. Well the owner and manager found the whole thing very amusing, looked over and had a laugh with the waiter. The owner's attitude was very unprofessional, arrogant and demeaning. Mistakes happen but don't make fun of your customers because staff doesn't do their job correctly. I don't need crap like that and definitely will not be coming back any time soon. read more
