So I was scheduled for 9 Am but when I called to ask a question they said they'd be at my home at 7:30. They didn't get there until 9:20. Then the head guy left the two guys who spoke very little English packing up my house to allegedly go get gas. He was gone for 2 hours. I literally had to call him when they were done. He thought I was going to wait on him. Nope. I had a long drive ahead of me. I definitely would not recommend them plus they broke the handle on my frig. read more

This is the worst moving experience I've ever encountered. And I've had my wedding flowers crushed. To begin with, the owner asked that we pay him in cash because his business account was overdrawn. Suspect, but okay. We'll help you out. When the day of the move arrives on Friday, March 15th, they were an hour and a half late. I had to call the owner a half hour in to their scheduled arrival time to find out where they were. He said he had personnel issues the night before and hopefully they would be along soon. As they packed the truck, the movers managed to break off the base of one of our nice TVs. As they were loading our 3 TVs, they were pushing and shoving them in. We could hear the squeak of plastic-on-plastic and then the base tore off. They said they could screw it back on by driving bolts through the back of the broken base. Thank you, no. Then, as they were loading our hutch which is a family heirloom, they wanted to place a gliding chair on top with no blankets or anything between. I had to finally tell them to stop and add some blankets. Had I not, they would have left those two pieces to bounce together during transport. Of our two movers, Nathaniel was great. He was upbeat, moving quickly, great customer service game. The other mover was slow, grumpy and overall had a poor disposition. At one point, the second mover decided he would setup our washer without telling us. I don't mind that level of service, but when we walked by, we think he thought we were Nathaniel because he said aloud "I'm over all this s***." That's incredibly out of line and in bad taste. Then, when we tried to use our washer, we discovered it was hooked up incorrectly and our floor was met with a flood of water. The dryer was left for us to hook-up. The movers were also unable to move everything we had. There wasn't much: we didn't even have a LR set or dining room table because we sold them. It was a 3 bed, 2 bath house. This would leave everything down to poor packing. They didn't offer to return to the first house to get the remaining furniture, so we had to get our own U-Haul the next day, costing us an extra $100 to get the remaining furniture. Once the move was completed, we attempted to contact the owner to discuss the damaged TV. No answer. Even though he gave us two numbers to get ahold of him that day, neither us, nor his employees could contact him. We opted to pay everything but $70 pending a callback from him so we could discuss damages. After we attempted to contact him multiple times on Friday, March 15th after the job was completed, we called again on March 16th at 11:25am which was not answered. This is, clearly, within the 24-hour period required on the contract since the job wasn't completed until after 4pm on the 15th. We were not able to make contact with the owner until March 20th at 3:10pm--5 days after the move took place. Once we made contact, he advised that he happened to be on his Honeymoon during that week. Okay, I get that. But communicate to your customers that you will be getting married and then on your Honeymoon, therefore will be radio silent. It's odd that the owner gave us numbers to reach him and then failed to answer them when used. While on the phone, I told him that we discovered that nearly every piece of furniture that wasn't in a box had some sort of damage on it: scrapes, scratches, gouges, and the like. I also reported the customer service issues we had. He requested photos be sent to him and then he would consult a repair professional to discuss repair costs and apologized for our experience and that he would get back to us quickly. We sent the photos within a couple of days on March 25th. I had to text him myself on April 3rd asking if he received them. He stated he did receive them, but the photos look like previous damage. He mentioned he spoke to his two movers and they stated that we "exaggerated" our experience. He states the damages could be repaired with the amount we didn't pay in full ($70). We responded saying that we wanted him to honor his contract agreement that they will pay for damages incurred during the move, but he states he wasn't informed of them within the 24-hour period. While we initially only recognized the TV damage moments after the move was completed, it is unrealistic to expect us to note any and all other damages to communicate to the owner and/or his movers before they left our residence. However, we did note it later that evening and the following day. This is what we attempted to discuss with him within that 24-hour period, yet we were unable to make contact. We are not prone to claiming false damages. There was obviously prior damage on a wooden desk that we even joked about with Nathaniel. At no point have we claimed that damage or tried to scam the owner or his company over it or any other damages. My recent move with Kingdom Movers was, by far, the worst moving experience I have ever had. I have relocated 14 times in my adult life, 11 of which were out of state moves, and my move from Lenexa into a storage unit was an absolute nightmare using Kingdom Movers. The short list; 1. No truck on moving day 2. Did not have 3 guys available on moving day 3. Moving day rescheduled 4. 2nd Moving day had 16' truck instead of 26' that was quoted 5. Showed up at the wrong storage facility 6. Left my area rugs in the rain 7. Abandoned my belongings unlocked and unattended overnight and for 3 businesses hours the next morning Moving day was scheduled for September 18, 2021 and confirmed with 50% deposit of $737.50 On August, 24th. I received a phone call on moving day September 18th from John McCracken at 7:15 am. He told me that he didn't have a truck available for my move. It was at this time that I learned that they do not own their own trucks and rely on truck rental companies. I would have never booked a moving company if I knew that they didn't own any moving trucks. An hour later, John called again wanting to know if we could reschedule for Monday morning. Telling me at that time that he only had one guy to help and that he was only available until 12:30. The original moving agreement was for 3 guys, so not only did Kingdom movers fail to secure a truck, they also failed to secure labor as well. I understand that things happen and agreed to changing the date, letting John know that neither myself nor my husband would be available for the move. Trusting John, the owner of Kingdom Movers, to be the upstanding Christian man that he lead me to believe. John verbally told me that they took a 1 hour break for lunch. They worked from 10am until 10:25 pm and I was billed for 12.25 hours at $200 per hour. Evidently John believes that he should be paid $200 to have lunch. Monday morning John calls stating that they had a 16' truck and not the quoted 26' truck. I expressed that I did not want to be charged extra time for a additional trip, John assured me that I would not be charged. The next call I received was asking me about the storage unit itself. I had originally booked a 10x15 unit however that changed after John did a physical walk through of my townhouse, and recommended I get a larger unit. It was difficult to find a larger unit as there is currently a high demand for storage units, John had told me this previously. I had to change the facility location in order to obtain a larger unit. I texted John the address of the new storage unit and John failed to read the communication, and drove 45 minutes to the wrong location. Keep in mind that he charges $200 per hour, including drive time. We speak again at 6:45 pm when he tells me that they only need to do a final walk through at the townhouse and will wrap up in 30 minutes or so. He also informs me at that time that they left 2 of my area rugs outside in the rain, and as if it were no big deal, he blames his employee stating that "he was in charge of the rugs" and asks me if I want him to unroll it and leave it in the garage to dry. One of these rugs was over $600. Kingdom Movers finally wraps up and leaves at 8:08 according to the next call I received. Then at 10:19 and 10:27 I receive two calls, John tells me that the elevators have shut down and that they were leaving. At 6am my husband and I arrive at the storage unit. My front load washer & dryer, miscellaneous furniture pieces and other items were left in the storage unit vestibule and on the elevator, and my storage unit was left wide open without a lock in place. My husband and I called and texted Kingdom Movers with no answer. We moved the items left into the unit ourselves. John showed up at the unit to "finish up" after 9am. If we had not gone to the unit my belongings would have been left for anyone to take for over 3 hours! This was a complete and utter nightmare! John had plenty of excuse to offer along with a balance due if $1980 which was 7.25 hours and $1242.5 over the estimate he originally quoted. He had the nerve to charge me for not only the extra trip but also for his drive time to the wrong storage facility. Run, don't walk, from Kingdom Movers! Never again will I use a local mover. United and Atlas van lines are far superior companies with individual movers having ownership backed by national company names. read more

Would NOT recommend based on the owner. His employees worked hard and were on time. John the owner quoted a job at $500 and gave a final invoice of $2000. He was unwilling to take ownership other than "I maybe could have done a better job quoting the work." He moved the goal posts a dozen times when I was trying to reason with him on why this was unacceptable. John was dishonest about a conversation he had with my mom further casting blame on us. Very disappointing that we gave John business because we like to support Faith-based companies. If you do decide to use this company, make sure you get it properly quoted and hold them accountable. read more

Beware of Kingdom Movers!! The only positive comment I can make is that the workers were nice, polite, and tried hard to please. Other experience with Kingdom Movers: 30% increase in final bill from bid Verbal agreement on what would be done--no written contract. We did have an email that stated the proposed bid. John admitted he didn't keep notes on his promises or what was included in the bid. Suggest recording the "walk-through" to avoid misunderstanding. He didn't know what he had promised and therefore did not communicate to the workers what he had promised. False claims on website: 100% guarantee, triple A+ BBB rating. Sent 3 men when 4 were promised, then charged because it took longer. Damage to property. 30 foot scratch on wood floor among others. Allowed one 30 minute break for workers in a 14 hour day working in July heat. Our first impression was John McCracken was just a poor business man. Prompt, professional, powerhouses- got a 12-hour job done in half the time, and having never used movers before they were patient with us and knowledgeable about everything we were questioning. I found Kingdom Movers through their Craigslist posting. When I spoke to the owner a couple of weeks before the job, I specifically asked if they were experienced with moving pianos and I was assured they are. The owner explained that a four-wheel dolly would be used. My belongings needed only to be moved from a storage unit into a truck, and the job took about one hour. (Background: My piano was moved into the storage unit by movers who used a four-wheel dolly, and I personally observed the entire move -- piece by piece -- of my belongings into the storage unit. The movers who put the piano in the storage did not cause any damage -- I observed each piece and watched the entire move). When the two Kingdom Movers workers began moving the piano to the truck, they were dragging the piano without a four-wheel dolly to the center of the storage unit. Then the leg broke off. Both men claimed they did not "hear a snap." I was standing outside the storage unit about 10-12 feet away, watching them drag the piano across the storage unit floor. The leg was intact before they started dragging the piano, and the leg broke off while they were dragging the piano. Yet they claim they are not responsible. When they called the owner about the damage, they both gave their version of the events and again claimed they did not "hear a snap." When I spoke to the owner, he explained why they didn't arrive with a four-wheel dolly, and then one of the men offered to go to a friend/relative's place where he could get a four-wheel dolly. While on the phone with the owner, he wanted to explain all the reasons why the men didn't arrive at my job with a four-wheel dolly. So and so had to drive somewhere and he had the dolly in his car ... or something like that. The owner assured me during the previous phone calls that the movers would use a dolly for the piano, so why couldn't they simply bring one? Do they have only one four-wheel dolly for all these jobs they perform? The company's workforce management issues are not my concern -- I don't care why so and so didn't come to work and why he had the dolly in his car. My only concern is that my piano was not moved properly and now my further concern is having to get it repaired. One of my most precious pieces of furniture is now damaged. The owner told me that since two people gave him the same version of the story, and it conflicts with my own, that he cannot do anything about it. Next time (not with Kingdom Movers, because I will not use their services again, of course), I hire supposed professional movers, I will be sure to have at least two people as eyewitnesses in the event that something like this happens again. We needed help packing up our kitchen and John sent to ladies to help me out. They worked hard and quickly. We got it all done in three hours. We are so impressed with the service provided by Kingdom Movers in our recent move. More importantly, at least to us, was that we didn't hear one complaint from any of the movers, even though we had some very heavy and awkward items to move. John and his team are simply the best. They did an all day/night move on a large house of ours. They worked super hard on a hot day. Have John pack the truck as he's a master packer and that saves time/money. They were very careful and didn't break anything valuable. From small to big, they can handle local KC moves very well. John is mature and responsible and clean cut. His guys are super polite and great packers too. They rent U-Haul trucks which keep the price down as well. read more

I live on base and they were able to provide three men who wouldn't be barred from entry. They were professional and efficient moving my items. Really didn't want to spend more money, but happy I did for my peace of mind. Since there was no way I could move a pair of antiques weighing about 225 pounds each, Kingdom Movers handled the job with great care and placed the items where I wanted them. They were also accommodating in that they met me at the antique mall to pick up the items for the short trip to my home. The items were wrapped and tied down in the truck for transport. Kingdom Movers are amazing young men! I called on a very short notice and John was able to help me out. I called Monday morning in desperate need of professional movers for Monday evening. John was the young man I spoke with and he took my information and assured me that they could move me at 6pm! I was so relieved!! I did not know what to expect as I have never used movers before and heard some real horror stories from other people. But when these young men arrived and had so much positive energy it gave me a sense of relief and I knew instantly my prayers were being answered. They moved me in a little under two hours!! They also just wanted me to let them know where I wanted everything and they put things exactly as I told them and even moved a few pieces around for me. But what I appreciated the most was the prayer at the end!! John prayed over me and my family, and he touched something's in my life that no one even knew about.
