I asked if this was professional, the tone and attitude she was showing. She said in a defensive tone, "what? I'm trying to help you and you won't let me help you, so how can I help you?" She continued being defensive and talked over me when I tried explaining Misaki's attitude to her, so I hung up. Absolutely unprofessional. Will not be taking our camps here. Management needs to hire more suitable staff.

There are 12 lanes on each floor. Each lane can support up to 5 players. They do sell drinks (including beer) as well as snacks such as hot dogs and chips. The venue can get a bit cramped when the space fills up. Something to keep in mind.

There are plenty of lanes for bowling along with pool tables and some arcade games. The name of the game here is 5 pin bowling. It's a fun and relaxing experience. Since they only have 5 pin bowling and they didn't allow us to drink by the bowling area, we decided to play billiards instead. It was around $22/hr for each table. They had multiple tables that were really close to each other which made it tough to play. I would recommend them to space their tables out more so that players are not bumping into each other and have enough room to play. They also did not have a water fountain at the venue so I asked their bar if I could get a glass of water. They said that we have to pay for it and they would only take cash. I wasn't looking to buy a bottle of water, just wanted a glass with tap water. But they said that we would have to pay for the cups, luckily my friend had some change so I was able to get water. I feel like for such a big venue space that serves alcohol, serving a glass of tap water shouldn't be such a big ask. The service was ok!

I spend as much time playing a challenging outdoor sport as I would, for example, by playing golf, but for a minute fraction of the price. It is a game which can be played at an elite competitive level from childhood until you are much later in life. If you prefer to just go have fun in the sun in a recreational way with a bunch of your friends, you can do that too. You do not have to wear white, that is only for competition. The only requirement is that you wear a flat-soled shoe with no big treads that can chew up the finely manicured grass. For those familiar with bocce/boules/petanque, lawn bowling is quite similar, you have a moveable target (a jack) and depending on if you are playing singles/pairs/triples/ fours, up to four -3 pound bowls to roll to it. The twist is in lawn bowling that the bowls have a bias so they do not run straight. Your task is to roll the bowl while predicting the curvature line of the bowl and with the correct weight, to have it rest closest to the jack which is at least 21m down the rink. It employs a lot of the same strategy and tactics that you might see in the sport of curling. West Point Grey LBC is adjacent to Trimble Park in one of the most lovely settings in Vancouver. It is a friendly and inclusive club which boasts members that range in age from the 20's to the 80's. The lawn bowling season begins in May and runs through the end of September. The club also offers instruction and loans bowls to those interested in learning how to play. Outside of North America, particularly in Australia and the UK, lawn bowling is viewed as a sport for all ages and they have clubs that boast thousands of members. It is a pity that there is the stigma in Canada of lawn bowling as being only a senior citizen's sport because it really is a lot of fun and could be enjoyed by a lot more people.

Recently young people have been branching out and getting into lawn bowling way as a fun way to spend time with friends, enjoy the beauty of the natural scenery and engage in friendly heckling. If you're lucky, you might even see a mole pop its head out of the greens. Think Caddyshack but less of a disturbance. The only real downsides are that a) the Park Board is really persnickety and b) some (a verbal few) of the older Members don't like having young people on the greens. Memberships are available to everyone, however, and strongly advised. Fact: lawn bowling is addictive.

Kerrisdale LBC has an excellent bowling green, really nice members, a terrific clubhouse (cheap beer!), excellent coaching and several provincial and national champions in their ranks. It is easily accessible by bus and has a ton of free parking right outside the club. I encourage anyone that would like to try it out to swing by the club and roll a few bowls (free!) to check it out.
