Tasty Italian food. We came in without a reservation on a Saturday at 5:30pm and it was busy. Many families eating early but glad we got a table by the door. We didn't realize there was happy hour ending at 6pm. We got the Polpette al forno ( meatball & homemade bread) $7 , Spaghetti bolognese special $29, and finocchiona pizza. The food tasted amazing, and their chili oil is a must The staff were very friendly, made recommendations and gave coloring sheet and crayons for our kiddo. From the same restaurant family as Pizzeria Farina, Di Beppe, Ask for Luigi etc. We went for the "Dinner For Two" option - you get 1 starter, 1 pizza, 1 pasta, and 1 dessert for $90 (used to be a far better deal at $75/80). **A heads up**: Depending on the options you choose, this deal could actually end up being more expensive than the items individually. Antipasti/Starter: Polpette al forno - comes with three meatballs in a tomato sauce. Good but fairly forgettable compared to the other dishes. Wish we'd tried the seasonal vegetables instead as got food envy later. Pasta: Ragu di manzo - this was a great dish. Nice al dente pasta. Well balanced sauce and melt in the mouth beef cheek. Pizza: Finocchiona - Lovely pizza, great thin crust. Big fan of the fennel sausage. Similar to Pizzeria Farina (though think the pizza there might win in a head-to-head). Dessert/Dolci: Tiramisu - a well-made end to the meal and perfect to share. Service was friendly, fairly quiet when we went. It wasn't a hot day but they had fans set up around the restaurant on full blast due to the heat from the pizza oven, so they can't turn them off - not particularly fun if you're directly in front of the fan. Would definitely come back if I was in the area, but wouldn't seek it out. If you're looking for pizza, I'd say Pizzeria Farina is better. If you're looking for pasta, Di Beppe/Ask for Luigi are likely better. read more

I love a good italian spot! This place is a few blocks up from the lovely londsdale quay - one of my fave areas. It's a super cute little italian vibe - homey and cute. The service is decent - the servers are quite nice and the food came very quickly. Prices are a bit on the expensive side for what it is, but i do really enjoy the food! I'd give it a 8/10. I loved the carbonara pasta we shared, and the pizza was decent - i personally order a more doughy crust. I do really enjoy this spot and recommend checking it out :) read more

Four of us came to celebrate our friends birthday. They have an incredible dinner deal - 2 items from each category (appetizer, pasta, pizza, and dessert) for $150. The sizes are huge so we had leftovers. We ordered their appie special (toast and burrata) and their cavolo nero ( local kale, roasted garlic & anchovy dressing, focaccia bread crumbs, parmigiano). The bread was so fresh and accompanied the squishy cheese perfectly! The salad was the perfect size and paired perfectly with the cheese/bread. I drizzled with their homemade chili oil which was so great! For pasta, we got the Pomodoro (spaghettoni, pomodoro, parmigiano reggiano, basil) and the prosciutto e piselli (campanelle, pea & arugula puree, english pea, white wine, lemon juice, butter, parmigiano, crispy prosciutto, pecorino romano). The pomodoro was sweet and very light. Nice juicy tomatoes added the perfect bite! I didn't have the other pasta but my friends finished that up pretty fast! For pizza, we got the Verdure (pesto, Kale, Peppadews, olives, Ricotta, Mushrooms, roasted Garlic) and margherita (tomato sauce, fior di latte, olive oil, basil). The verdure was so deliciously balanced. The roasted garlic hit and the mushrooms were soft. The marg was ok! Seriously, we couldn't really eat at this point. Lastly, we got the torta al cioccolato (flourless chocolate cake, whipped lemon ricotta, olive oil, sea salt) and the gelato (fior di latte or chocolate). My god the chocolate cake was incredible. One of the best desserts I've ever had. The gelato accompanied the cake so well. The restaurant has the feels of Italy. A lot of old time photos and a selection of Italian pieces. Service was good. A little too hot for me and not enough air (they do have a wood oven so makes sense). read more

I believe adding more pasta water could make it better and the guanciale pieces could be bigger for the maximum experience. The frutti di mare was better than the carbonara. Exceptional taste and sublime flavour. Gotta add $8 for adding the frutti di mare which should be explained in the beginning. For the pizza, we got finnochiona and the boscaiola. The finnochiona was way more superb than the boscaiola. Its a fire oven pizza but i dont think its neapolitan. For neaopolitan, the pizza should be thinner and more fluffy on the edge. But the pizza was very crunchy which was good. For the dessert, we got the tiramisu and the chocolate cake. Like i have said previously the tiramisu is one of the best in town. Another outstanding italian family restaurant in north van. True hidden gem i should say. Tucked away amidst a residential are..,my guess is the place used to be an old house. Everything was on point. I mean, when was the last time You had an amazing bfast pizza. Slices prosciutto baked into the pizza with a soft boiled egg in the middle. The crust was magnificent. Thin with bubbly burnt edges but sturdy enough to hold the toppings. Just like how they make it in italy. The pasta were made fresh. From the bolognese To the classic carbonara with guanciale, to the pappardelle with wild boar ragu, and the bolognese with pork ragu...everything screamed quality and freshness all throughout. I was very very impressed With the dishes here. The sauces were meticulously prepared. Take the carbonara...they couldve used cream to cheat, but no...,they used real egg yolks and generous portions of pecorino cheese. They dont do short cuts or skimp on the ingredients. Fine italian foods will be served to you. If they pecorino or parmigiano reggiano, that is what you are getting. Quality quality quality and a stone/brick Oven right in the center of the restaurant to make you smell the aroma of the pizzas being made. Perfect harmony to entice all the senses...lol. We went to Farina a Legna tonight. It was a mix of good and bad. We started with the Burrata cheese special which we added pesto to. This was outstanding and a great start to our meal. My wife ordered the funghi pizza and I had the carbonara pasta. The pizza was alright - something was missing from the flavour profile. Maybe it needed some additional toppings. The carbonara was a disappointment to be frank. It had the tiniest pieces of bacon and the pasta itself was too al dente with not enough pecorino pepper flavour. Recently enjoyed another Kitchen Table restaurant and had a lovely dinner at Farina a Legba. I am definitely feeling the Italian vibes here! The place is absolutely beautifully decorated with the checkered tiles, indoor plants, cute picnic table for larger seatings and they have outdoors patio seatings too! For those with a group, the dinner for 4 option is such a great way to try out a selection of dishes the restaurant has to offers - you can choose two items from each course. For our group we ordered the Polpette al Forno + Baratta/Pesto Bread Platter + Ragu di Manzo + Frutti di Mare + Prosciutto & Arugula Pizze + Finocchiona Pizze. Every thing we had was delizioso! Terrific reason to drive to North Vancouver. We arrived 3 minutes before 5pm and there was already about a dozen people waiting. We were let in at 5pm. A few parties were immediately seated, but we were placed in a queue and waited another 5 minutes before we were seated. I guess they stagger the seating as to not overwhelm the servers and allow those first in a chance to get their orders placed first. Once we were seated, we were given a menu and told about the daily special, one which happened to be a $75 16oz Rib Eye. We order one Rigatoni, one Pizza and one Beet Salad Appetizer. The total came to about $55 before taxes and tip. The pizzas are made fresh to order. In fact, you can see someone in the back tossing the dough to make the crust. Surprisingly, the hot food all arrived within 10 minutes, followed by the beet salad 5 minutes later. The pizza was called the Boscaiola, and it featured white sauce, prosciutto cotto, PEAS, mushroms, parmigiano reggiano and mozzarella. Crust was amazing, one of the best I've ever had. I could have done without the peas, but I didn't mind them. The Rigatoni was also very good, especially the meat sauce that it was drizzled with. And, the beet salad was a lot larger than I was expecting. Service was attentive the entire stay. My water was probably refilled 5-6 times. Servers came by regularly to remove plates and check in on our satisfaction. Definitely worth walking the two blocks from Lonsdale Quay. read more

We had dinner on the patio on Sunday evening. We had reservations. The chairs for seating on the patio have definitely seen better days. When we first sat down my chair was wobbling. I thought that it was because I was sitting on uneven pavement and tried moving to another table to see if it would be any better. A man at another table saw me trying the other table and mentioned that it wasn't the pavement but that the chairs were not stable. It appears that most of the chairs for the outside patio are wobbly. The man said that most of the chairs were not really well balanced and told me to take his seat. They must have bought the chairs at a garage sale. They are very uncomfortable. The waitress witnessed all this but did not get the gentleman a more comfortable seat. We were there during their happy hour and ordered wine from the happy hour menu. This is fortunate as their wine prices on the regular menu have a very substantial mark up. In other words they are very high. For dinner we shared finnocchino pizza and carbonara pasta. When the pasta arrived the sauce was very runny and did not coat the pasta. There was no problem having this rectified. We didn't even have to mention the problem to the server as she took one look at the pasta and commented that it was not a good carbonara. They redid the pasta and did not charge us for the dish. The pizza was very good. We liked the crust, it is thin and a bit chewy. They bring oregano oil and chili oil to the table so you can season your pizza to your taste. Although the food was very good the meat on the dishes was very sparse. There were very small amounts of sausage on the pizza and on the carbonara you really had to hunt to find the very small amounts of guanciale. Between the 2 dishes there may have been a total of 2 oz. of meat. For the prices they charge they should be more generous with the protein. The service was amazing. I think our servers name was Meghan. She services the outside tables and has been there about 4 months. She is absolutely terrific. She checked on us and ensured that we had everything we required during the course of the evening. A real gem. I hope I got her name right. Di Beppe in gastown is also owned by the same group. We prefer Di Beppe and will likely just continue going to Di Beppe. read more

there was a temp office move that's happening at wrk and since i dont have a car, my lovely cowrker (and fellow foodie) a offered me a ride to help me move my stuff. my arms def had a wrkout. in an effort to express my gratitude, i offered to have dinner and comp a drink for her (another drink will comp'd at our nxt outing...in 1wk LOL). i've always wanted to try this place - pre-COVID and was super excited that it reopened. a and i were both astonished abt their setup and santization. the tables were vry well spread out, with directional arrows. tables AND chairs were wiped down btwn each grp and all the staff wore masks. so onto the actual review. drinks - spritz and bicicletta. a and i both had a spritz each to start. love how the cocktail came in a bottle and we can pour as we go. i read (like always) the menu and did my research abt bicicletta - kate was ever so helpful with explaining the diff btwn the 2 drinks. when i did order my 2nd drink (the bicicletta), kate rmb and was like "yep got it." the bitterness of the bicicletta is def an acquired taste...im not sure i'll order it again the nxt time im here but...i might? the spritz i def downed too quick cuz it was sweet so...it might help me slow down a bit (lol). for food, we had bread and olive oil to start. the house made focaccia was super soft, and the olive oil was fragrant and smooth. it was prbly just me but i can def taste the yeast in the focaccia - not a big deal but just a note. a didn't taste it so who knows, it could have been the alcohol talking. then we had the aglio e olio - oh-so-good. the garlic was def the highlight of this dish so beware of that. the pasta was perfectly al dente and the shrimp was very fresh. the cherry tomatoes added a nice tartness to the dish, and there was a subtle kick frm the chili in the dish. after the pasta, we had the finocchiona pizza - i love the chili and regular (could have been the oregano infused one) olive oil that they give you. the pizza crust was nice and thin - you can see them make and bake the pizza in front of you as they have an open kitchen. a and i both preferred chili olive oil cuz of the little kick it provides. by this pt, we were in a semi-food coma but we decided to share the tiramisu. it was very light and not-overly-sweet. the dessert ended our dinner nicely (with the exception that julia choked on the cocoa powder by accident lol). 5-star rating means julia will be coming back! read more

Finally got the chance to try Farina a Legna, heard they were run by the same team behind Di Beppe (Kitchen Table Group) so I figured it would be good. I booked a reso a few nights before on their website and it was very easy process. I went with my family and we got there a bit early and immediately we were checked in and seated, all the tables had wall separators which was very COVID safe. Our server was an older gentleman and he was so so great, he was so helpful and polite and not pushy and overbearing which I loved, I wish I got his name to shout him out because he made our experience so great. We decided to get the Cavolo Insalata, Tagliatelle Verde con Funghi, Bosciaola Pizza and the daily special Mortadella Pizza. The Cavolo Insalata was a nice kale salad with anchovy dressing, roast garlic, bread crumbs and parmigiano. The kale was really fresh and tasted delicious but the salad was a bit too salty for my liking. Next came the Tagliatelle Verde con Funghi, immediately you can tell that the spinach pasta was made fresh because it had a perfect al dente bite. The wild mushrooms were so flavourful and there was a large variety of different mushrooms and I loved that they were sliced thick so you could taste how juicy it is. The porcini sauce and truffle pecorino nicely fused the pasta together without it being too creamy and heavy. The Mortadella Pizza (daily special) came out first and was my favourite pizza of the night. It had a pesto sauce, mortadella, fiore di latte, tomatoes and arugula. I usually don't like sliced tomstoes in my pizza but it made it so juicy and flavourful and paired very well with the savoury meat and pesto. The mortadella meat was not salty at all, I usually don't like when cured meats are too salty. The Boscaiola Pizza had a white sauce base and had prosciutto, peas, mushrooms, parmigiano and mozzarella. I liked this pizza as well, the white sauce was not too heavy and paired well with the mushroom, it was so juicy, the proscuitto was great as well and not salty. All in all, I loved that these pizzas were all made by hand and put into the wood fire oven, I was lucky that my table was beside the pizza station so I was able to watch the wonderful staff make our pizzas right there. I definitely will be returning to Farina a Legna, our total was ~$87 before tip for all 4 of us and we left very full. Amazing Italian food. I had carbonara, which came out with delicious, subtle flavors. The yokes and cheeses were amazing together. My wife had the Ametrico (spelling?) which had a much sharper taste that was, quite likely, the best 'spaghetti with bacon' I have ever tried. The pork was wonderful. My son had the cheese pizza, which was a very solid Napoleon style, fired pizza. I am a somewhat ignorant diner, trying to describe this all, but I really enjoyed this meal; I think it is the best meal I have had in North Vancouver. read more

My husband and I ordered the quattro formaggi and fungi it was tasty and cool pizza place in the hood. But after we got home from dinner we were soooo bloated, gassy and dehydrated for hours drinking cups of water. I'm not sure if it was the pizza dough or sauce? We both hadn't eaten much that day and the pizza was the only thing we had. We probably won't go back unfortunately since there are lots of other pizza places that don't cause stomach irritation. I recently bought a mattress from Sleep Shop. This is a family owned company they are knowledgable, and the service is above and beyond that I received. I previously bought from a big box retailer, and was not at all happy . This is one of the few places you can buy latex breathable mattresses . I love my new bed, it was reasonably priced and I was taken care of perfectly. If people leave a not so good review on this company I would say it is more about a buyer who simply cannot be satisfied this company is amazing and I would continue to buy from them. Through covid lockdown we have ordered from Farina so many times and always been satisfied! When we have eaten there (pre and post lockdown) service is efficient, friendly and consistent. The food is always yummy and they have a nice selection of wines (including lambrusco) I have dined in 4 times and never been let down. With the new covid protocols in place its even more lovely as you can actually hear everyone your seated with. Before it was still an awesome experience, packed and busy but a cool scene. Now it's the best of both worlds. My go to order is a margarita pizza with either sopressata or prosciutto added on, and my husband loves the finnochiona. Carbonara is saucy and delicious and the noodles are usually cooked firm/al dente (which I prefer) finish with a tiramisu or a sgoropino and you're set!
