Went here to see Anthems of Rock. They put on a great show! All of the 80s rock hits. The singers were good! (noticed one of them was a singer at Mel's hard luck diner the night before) The dancers were all amazing! Although this was on a Monday I felt bad that there were not more tickets sold in the theater. If you love 80s rock this is the show you will want to see. read more

I saw the Christmas Spectacular. The singers were great. The dancers were also great. The Christmas tunes, just perfect. It was hard to see from my seat, the stage seemed too low. The concession stand was reasonably priced. They honored the veterans. read more

What amazing talent at the Christmas show, fantastic dancing and singing. The signage outside had more performers depicted than were actually in the performance. Oh well. The venue could use an improvement. There was one center video screen with videos & special effects that was clear. The screen on the right was so small, it was difficult to clearly see the images. Also, it was extremely fuzzy compared to the center screen. read more

Anthems of Rock was a good mix of songs. Overall the singing was good. High notes seemed to be a struggle for some singers. They definitely need a bass singer to balance some songs. Dancing was on point except for one dancer who was more cheerleader than dancer. Costumes looked like they picked their own and some tried harder than others. Small crowd but fun time overall and very inexpensive. read more

Christmas Wonderland. This show met expectations and delivered a festive, enjoyable experience. The performances were well-prepared, and the show captured the holiday spirit. All the Christmas songs were great and brought strong festive energy to the show. It was an enjoyable and engaging show. Every element--from the performances to the pacing--worked beautifully together. The show also dedicated a time to honor the veterans which was very touching. I left genuinely energized and want to go back to see more from this team. read more

We attended the Irish Tenors and the Celtic Ladies with the Spirit of the Dance. It was a great performance. Very high-energy dancing, great vocals and overall very entertaining. We were sad for the performers that there weren't a lot of audience members but it didn't stop them from giving an outstanding show. Highly recommend this show! We give this review four stars only because the theater looked a bit worn. read more

Am writing about the theater, not the shows we saw. It's OLD!. When in the main lobby, don't look up. the banners are faded and appear as though they could fall at any moment. Neither show was able to fill even half the theater so it felt lacking. The building was too big for the show. It felt empty and the Irish show we saw had probably no more maybe not even 250 people so even a strong applause was weak in such a large venue. Unfortunately, while we enjoyed the shows we saw they lacked the 'spark' a building better suited to the show and didn't feel so run down. read more

Saw Christmas show and it was well done. Our seats were toward the back and had very little view of stage. Heads were obstructing as far as 5 rows ahead. Stage is very low and incline of floor s limited. read more

Very emotional tribute to Veterans and active duty before show. Great show. We saw the Anthems of Rock show. This is not cover band territory. The performers offer very well done renditions of classic rock songs. Ver high energy. Lots of talent on the stage. Guitar, vocalists, dancers, light and sound technicians were all talented. Nice venue. Gift shop. Soft drinks and popcorn, etc. no beer or wine. read more

We went to see Christmas Wonderland. The performance is awful. You could tell they were lip singing. The acts were dumb. An entire row got up and walked out. We left at intermission as did several other families. Would not recommend to anyone unless you're older, and want a singalong type experience. We were told they would be similar to Rockettes. They were nothing like them. Also, we went dressed nice only to arrive and see a concession stand serving cinema type food. People dressed in sweats, just not what you expect when you spend that much on tickets. read more

My wife and I were in town to celebrate our 44th anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed Dancing Queen a show about 70s music. The singing and dancing were great even though one of the heavier women was dropped during a high lift. The theater is on the Strip and very convenient to anywhere in Branson. Plenty of parking and well lit outside. We graduated from both high school and college and we were married in the 70s so this show was pretty special to us. read more

Attended the Anthems of Rock show. It was very fun and entertaining for me. And likely people around my age (50ish). Younger people might find the show entertaining, but just don't know that they will have the same connection to most of the songs. read more

We had a great time and really enjoyed the show Anthems of Rock!! One of the better shows we've seen! Knew every song and felt the energy from all the performers was fantastic. Building was not even close to max capacity even on this busy holiday weekend. They strategically say everyone so you'd be more than 6 ft from everyone. They did ask you to wear mask when not eating or drinking. read more

Anthems of Rock show at this venue was well done. I was skeptical when I decided to buy tickets for Friday evening. I didn't think the production would be a true theatrical performance but the array of 1970s and 80s songs with a the guitar solo was very impressive and highly skilled, which surprised me. Some are better dancers than singers and they use the better vocalists for particular songs while highlighting who the technically trained dancers are in the group. Overall a very good entertaining show in Branson. read more

Cast was 11 in size on stage. The singers did a good job and the dance team was awesome. So much energy and great outfits on the ladies. Male dancers did their share of great moves and jumps also. What can I say about the music, it is Rock and Roll. All very well preformed staying close to the original versions. It was a very exciting show and you can easily get caught up in the performance. We recommend and will definitely come back again. read more

The show was fantastic. A great variety of songs and terrific dance moves. Loved all the 70's music and the costumes were fantastic. The downside of the show were the ushers (if you will call them that), they are ALL cranky with horrible attitudes. It occurred at both shows that we went to today. Why such a bad attitude? If you don't like your job go somewhere else :0 read more

We have loved and enjoyed ALL the current shows at King's Castle. This cast is fantastic, singing, dancing you name it. Then along came Anthems of Rock!! Loved it - and have returned to see it again. The energy of this cast and their amazing talent just makes you want to sing. We really liked the Christmas Show. Can't say enough good about it. I have to add that this theater is doing a great job of distancing with the Covid situation. read more

Went to Anthems of Rock, I had read good reviews, but really over hyped. There was one of the five singers who didn't butcher their cover songs. They had a nice variety of songs to flash back through the 80s and even some 70s and 60s, but at least one vocalist definitely was trying to hard and just over sang the song. The others covered one artist pretty well but struggled covering other artists. The guitarist was very talented and did some really good solos close to the original, minus a few cords. The dancers were quite good and at least one looked to be professionally trained based on the skills. The venue didn't help the cause. Our seat actually broke at the intermission - like the metal bar supporting it actually broke at the weld and forced us to move to another seat. To say it's dated is an understatement. Fortunately it was lightly attended so easy in and easy out. It's Branson, so I kind of know what to expect but definitely wouldn't want to do that one twice. read more

This venue was good and we came here to see New Jersey Nights (the music of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons). There was parking on the side as well as the back of the theater but on a small hill. Inside of the lobby had the castle-like theme to it. There was a small gift shop and a concession stand. In the middle, there was a candy stand that you could select from and there were chocolate at the very least. The staff here were friendly and nice and helped us find out seats. The seats in the theater were comfortable and there were a lot of seats. There was one cup holder for every two chairs so they probably just replaced every other arm rest with the one with the cup holder since the original arm rests didn't have any. This was a good venue and would recommend to check it out for any shows here. read more

My wife and I saw the Christmas Wonderland show. Very disappointing. It was presented as a Rockette type show. The girls didn't even dance in a showgirl outfit until the end. The singing sounded pre-recorded to me with the performers lip synching. Wasn't worth the money paid. read more

We saw the Celtic Tenors on opening day and it was great. The theater was not crowded and there was plenty of parking. The show was amazing and I was in tears at the end with a rendition of "God Bless the USA". Beautiful dancing and definitely loved the Celtic Ladies as well. I highly recommend the show and theater. We plan on going back for the other shows in the line up. read more

We saw the jersey nights show, it was so horrible I would not even give it one star. The lighting, choreography, dancing, sound, and singing was bad. One female dancer (dark hair and thin) obviously out classed the rest of the dancers. If the main group sang in their own voices they sounded fine, but everytime they tried to imitate frankie valley they failed miserably. read more

Those people that left mediocre reviews must've been having a bad day! We were lucky to see a wonderful production of Broadway's Greatest Hits and the performers in the show absolutely worked their hearts out! They put on this production with enthusiasm and talent that is hard to duplicate! Would we go see it again if we ever returned to Branson... Absolutely! 5 Stars! read more

Just saw the Christmas Wonderland. Don't waste your time. Much better shows and locations in Branson. Dirty theatre / old accommodations with terrible parking. Parking lot is an approximate 20 degree up hill slope with only a few handicapped parking on level ground. read more

We saw Christmas Wonderland, 2PM December 31, 2021 show and it was excellent don't believe some of the poor reviews. These singers and dancers did a superb job with many costume changes, special effects and absolutely a joy filled Christmas production. This is a family friendly show and we couldn't have been more pleased. Sadly the auditorium was less than half full so people are believing the poor reviews. If this is showing next year I (Ron's wife) highly recommend it. read more

On February 29th 2012, the theatre was hit head on by a tornado, which destroyed parts of Branson, and most of the Theatre. Thankfully, we suffered no loss of life and it took the best part of a year to re build the Theatre from the ground up, into the landmark property it is today. The transition from being the "Branson Variety Theatre" to the "King's Castle Theatre" then took place being named after the famous theatrical show producer who owns the shows and building, Mr. David King.

When it came time for Bobby to go on his world tours, the Theatre became "The Branson Variety Theatre " and presented some of the best Broadway style shows ever seen in Branson. I've been to Sight and Sound 2 other times and sat in the lower seats... I think I would prefer to sit lower.... Up top, we could see everyone's phones on, people having to stand up and leave- which I know is so picky of me but I would pay the extra money to sit lower. I will say, a perk of sitting up top is the bathrooms and exit way to the lobby that is quicker to exit & way less crowded! The only thing is concessions aren't served upstairs (I think, not for sure on this) We saw David! My theological nerd of a husband had some beef with wanting more exposition especially with Solomon and the temple but I thought it was great use of the limited time they have! They walked us through his young boy years, Samuel anointing him, his relationship with Saul & Jonathan, hiding in the cave, becoming king, Bathsheba, and ended with his confrontation with Nathan and a redemption song. The emphasis was on David wanting to know God's heart and be known by God intimately. Really spoke to me personally in this season. I do think seeing Jesus was my favorite because it's the gospels. My husband says his favorite is Esther. But honestly, anything you see will be good. The ushers are amazing! They were keeping an eye out on anyone who needed anything-even working in the pitch dark to escort parents or children out. They have quiet rooms for families in the back & good seating for those in wheelchairs or anything else. At the end of the show, they have cast members and S&S staff available to pray with anyone who needs anything & they do an altar call for salvation, which is EPIC! They give space for people to encounter God and be walked through prayer.

From where we started at the White River Landing, everything was smooth and well organized. The landing itself is charming, especially in the evening with string lights and a couple of shops designed to match the showboat's vintage aesthetic. There was a dedicated priority boarding line for Captain's Club guests that started on time and before general admission, so we avoided any wait. Staff efficiently guided us through boarding (complete with photo opportunity with an option to purchase later) and to our seats in the dining area. The dining experience was outstanding thanks to our attentive server and other dining staff. With Captain's Club, we enjoyed a menu to choose from, were served ahead of the general admission guests, and the food arrived quickly. During dinner, the show with the Rivertown Ramblers was energetic, also well-organized, and highly entertaining. The talented vocalists and musicians delivered a fantastic performance. The combination of the scenic cruise, great food, priority service, and live entertainment made for a memorable evening and one of the highlights of our Branson trip. I highly recommend the Showboat to anyone visiting and definitely upgrade to Captain's Club if you can.

Great seating and small theater so any seat is a great seat. We sat 10th row on right side Seat Right L 1 and 2. Cons: Women performers wearing inappropriate and skimpy costumes with provocative dancing.( My opinion but would not recommend for kids.) Bathroom confusion, no clear direct sign above restrooms. Men where using the women's bathrooms due to confusion and no signs.
