Yay, In The Heights! The show was great, and even the New York accents were pretty convincing. Though this was my first time seeing the show in any theater, I was impressed by how the choreography must have been re-worked to suit the unique stage layout at King's Cross. The stage is in the middle, with audience seating on both of the long sides, meaning the sets are set up on both short sides of the stage. Luckily, it's a small theater that maybe seats a few hundred people, so everyone gets a good view.
There's a small, themed bar in the reception area where you can grab a drinky before heading into the theater, and sweets, snacks, and souvenirs are for sale as well. Right now it's New York City subway-themed since the show is set in Washington Heights...I'd love to see how they transform it for other plays.
We got discounted tickets through Time Out, too, so our experience was pretty affordable! And check out the Granary Square Fountain across the street after the show...it's cool. read more
