They really know anything and everything about chimney's and fireplaces. The team was trained by Jack King, who knew more about chimneys than anyone you could imagine. His days were all about fireplaces and chimneys and he was a true expert. When I first met hm, I emailed him a picture of my chimney, and he instantly replied it was a 1938 chimney, he knew all the details about it. His valuable knowledge and expertise in repairs and building was handed on to this great current team at King Fireplace. They do excellent work, and have been honest all along in all their assessments, and also fair in pricing. This week, they were here at my place for two days fixing cracks in the bricks and lining the interior of the chimney, which makes it very safe. The work is super clean and precise. They make you pay in advance by Venmo-ing an individual - which probably indicates tax fraud - so you can't refute charges or get refunds when they botch your service issue. this place is a SCAM - they came out to to look at my outdoor fireplace, told me we needed to replace a part, I paid a deposit for the part and didn't hear back for 2 months, they eventually came back to replace the part and then told me we actually needed a different part, which they would order. I followed up every month for 6 months and they told me the part was backordered. Finally 8 months after initially reaching out they told me it would be $6,000 to fix it (the fireplace is worth less than $2,000). Terrible communication. Can't recommend. They canceled our appointment 10 minutes before the end of the window. I expressed my disappointment about this so the tech came out. Identified issues with both fireplaces. One diagnosis was semi-correct but I had to further repair later (glass-front fireplace lacks adequate oxygen). Second fireplace was incorrectly diagnosed as faulty controller. I was told they would order the controller and follow up for installation. There was no follow up. I ordered a controller and replaced it but this did not solve the problem. Overall great work, detail, nice finishing. They reinforced the chimney from bottom to top, added rain protection, a new flue, repainted the interior with fire paint, and installed a new gas burner. The only downsides - they left a bit of a mess at the foot of the chimney and my roofer said they messed up a little area around the chimney (which will result in more costs on my side) Overall they were a solid team and did good work. read more

We used Kings Fireplace a few years ago to update our gas fireplace to the 21st century. Yali helped me reuse my logs to save me money and turned our fireplace into our absolute favorite feature of our house, especially on our cold mornings here in LA. I just called them out again for maintenance. They returned my call within 15 minutes and were prompt to get me on the books. Turns out my maintenance was only a dead battery in my remote, not maintenance at all and my fireplace still works perfectly after the years years and no one made me feel dumb about the batteries :) Needless to say, I have recommended them to friends over the last few years and now wanted to recommend them on yelp! I wanted to remodel the fireplace in my condo which was old, dated, ugly and did not even work. I found King's Fireplace on Yelp. The designer who came out helped me determine how I could modernize my fireplace without too much investment/remodeling and we came up with painting it, putting a new fireplace mechanism in, adding mirrored sparkly glass (they gave me black glass per my request and I added a bit of champagne glass on top myself per the technician's helpful suggestion) and a custom made stainless steel frame to place over the old one. It wasn't exactly cheap but was well worth it. I am very happy with the result and it really elevates my living room and condo. But this business is unbelievably unprofessional, insulting and untrustworthy. I would caution anyone thinking about hiring this company. My husband and I made an appointment to fix our B Vent fireplace on December 16, 2018. This was on a Sunday when we usually visit family. But instead we waited around for the technician to arrive and he never did. I understand that things happen. But I expected a call in the very least to let us know that the technician couldn't make it. That call never came. When we called the business to see what the deal was, the receptionist indicated that she had no way of getting in touch with the technician. That's a pretty crummy business strategy. I was upset because we have extremely limited time to spend with our loved ones and we had given that up in order to wait around for someone who never showed up. As a result, I left a negative review here on Yelp. Within minutes, the technician got in touch with us and said he was sorry. He wanted to reschedule to make things right and asked that we take down the review. We didn't want to take down what I had written until he actually showed up to fix the fireplace. At that point he called my husband and demanded that we do because it was hurting his business. I agreed to take the review down, and he did show up to evaluate our fireplace malfunctions. He claimed that he would be back to fix it, and guess what? He's given us the runaround ever since. It's Jan. 8th as I write this review. We've been dealing with this clownish behavior since Dec. 16th. I'm embarrassed that I remained patient for this long. When I called to book it, I asked the woman about that and she promised someone would come over. I booked the appointment for more than a week after, but decided it was worth waiting for, based on the reviews that said how great they were at repair. So we waited an hour. I called repeatedly, only to get their answering machine. I sent them emails and texts and never heard back. And no one ever showed up. This company shouldn't be allowed to even be in business. If you want to book an appoint, wait around and have no one show up, then have another person promised to come, and basically waste an entire day of your time, then this is the company for you.
