Moses and EcoGrizzly did a great job for us. Our situation was a little weird, in that our fireplace box developed a hole in the floor and needed repair. As it turned out there were several issues. We had three different companies come out and although EcoGrizzly was slightly more expensive, they were far and away the most professional and knowledgeable. They were very communicative, did a thorough inspection and gave us a clear understanding of our options. In the end we had them convert our wood burning fireplace to gas. I was skeptical that I was going to like it, but for a variety of reasons, it's what made the most sense. In the end, they did a fantastic job, fixed all of the issues we had and made the fireplace look hugely better. Definitely recommend this company. THE END OF THE STORY: The most recent rain storm verified that the chimney leakage was only resolved after hiring another contractor to fix inept workmanship on the chimney cap installation and sealing of storm collar. After contacting Eco Grizzly to invoke the product quality/workmanship warranty there was no response. MOSHE DIDN'T EVEN RETURN MY PHONE CALL. A BBB complaint was filed and Eco Grizzly responded, but failed to address their responsibily for the on-going leakage or their warranty. BBB closed the case without resolution so let this be fair warning to all: ECO GRIZZLY DOES NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTY OF PRODUCT OR WORKMANSHIP. From the invoice: "Service warranty is valid for members only OR up to 12 months after the inspection." From the chase cover warranty: "To further ensure your satisfaction, we are pleased to offer a 5-year warranty on our chimney chase cover. This warranty covers any defects in materials or workmanship that may arise during the first five years of use. In the unlikely event that you experience any issues with your chimney chase cover within the warranty period, please do not hesitate to contact us. Our team will arrange for a repair or replacement of the product, without any cost to you." ... and continues: "...please be advised that this five-year warranty is valid upon annual inspection by Eco Grizzly, which should occur 12 months after the date of purchase." ... and ends with a disengenuous (at least in my experience): "We take pride in our products and stand behind them with a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. We look forward to serving you for many years to come." So much for customer satisfaction or the written warranty...! EDIT: what a joke... writing your own false narrative. I hope you're not calling me a liar but it sure reads that way. No problem, the record is here and at BBB for anyone to read and make up their own mind. And the only blame shifting is by YOU. And after another inspection I wasn't happy with, Jack from Eco Grizzly was so much more informative, patient and professional with me and my family. These guys don't know what they are doing. They had us replaced three different parts and the issue wasn't fixed. At after the fourth try they asked us replace the entire system for $2000. To us it was obvious they're just guessing so we called a different company, the technician for the new company immediately found the issue, and explained that whomever worked on the fireplace previously damaged all the wires and ordered the wrong parts. Over all this company had us wait over 3 months ordering the wrong parts and left it damaged. I wish they didn't claim they know how to fix it, and instead of wasting our time, money and damage the fireplace. read more

I have found "chimney sweeps" in the past to be fly by night, somewhat shady characters. Always one or two people show up and "clean" and inspect your fireplace and chimney. Are they really cleaning it? Is the maintenance work they recommend and do really needed? Is it being done correctly? You, or at least I, never really knew/know. A few months back I found cracks along the base of my chimney, the exterior surface. So I made a post on Nextdoor. Soon, the owner of Eco Grizzly replied, and provided links to articles about the manufacturer of, and the type of, the chimney on our home. Unfortunately, the chimneys put onto homes around us are pre-fabricated and have a history of problems, some of which are unsolvable apart from demolition. Yikes. He offered to come out and look at no charge. I wasn't expecting good news. I wasn't even sure he'd be honest. I was guarded. My apprehension was soon mollified when the owner and one of his workers arrived. They examined the inside of the chimney - the firebox - and found it to be free of cracks, and accordingly not in need of demolition. Then they systematically reviewed, photographed and documented the condition of my fireplace and chimney and issued an amazingly thorough report. They were also on the roof inspecting it. Their report does recommend some projects. The work is not cheap, but seems proportionate to the issues that I know my chimney and fireplace have. We are ruminating on getting the work done now or more toward next winter. Bottom line: you can trust these guys. They are a real company with professional & knowledgeable people, from the office, to the technicians, right up to the owner. You needn't look elsewhere for your fireplace/chimney needs. read more

They were professional, thorough, and took about five times the amount of time to put together an estimate versus the first person.
