Left voicemail, no call back. Sent text, no response. Called yet again, still no answer. Like damn, I'm trying to give you my money and you're still ignoring me. I called, spoke to a human being and got an appointment for the next day. Joseph came out and did excellent work, explaining to me what he was doing. We got a great set of new logs (which I requested, it wasn't an upsell. Someone on NextDoor brought this to my attention after I highly recommended Sindee and her company for fireplace/chimney needs. I was surprised/disappointed to hear the news, so decided to call the number myself (there is no longer a website); a male answered with "AAA" - which could mean anything (I've been a member of the Auto Club for over 40 years, and lots of companies use AAA in their name; it would have been more helpful and informative if he said "AAA Chimney" or something similar); anyway, I asked for Sindee and he rudely informed me that she retired. He was so curt and abrupt that I didn't dare inquire further and will now need to find a new fireplace/chimney company to work with when needed. I wish there were more stars to give these guys! Imagine me sitting on a sofa in my soon-to-be home as the home inspector was doing his thing. It started out as a subtle nuance of something rodent like. A smell that was not conducive to my new castle fantasy...the closer I got to the fireplace the stronger it got. I bent down and yup...sure enough...there was no mistaking it...something has been living under there and defecating up a storm. I called out a fireplace company and they said the rodent probably got in from below and I needed to take the whole thing out to seal the bottom and replace the fire place. Thousands of dollars! Oh by the way, if I want the fire place to work, as is, at least $500.00 to replace a broken valve. I decided to take a risk and see if a chimney sweep company could help me out. It couldn't hurt. Everyone at this company is so professional and nice. I called a few days prior to my appointment because I had to reschedule, no problem! They showed up on time and laid down fabric to create a path to walk on. They completely cleaned out under the fireplace through the access panel and deodorized and wiped it down multiple time. I thought that was going to be it but then their professionalism really shone through. They completely inspected the fireplace outside and in. They found a small hole where the gas line came in so they screened it in and caulked it down. OK, surely that was it....no... They then wanted to make sure the fireplace worked. I told them about prior mentioned valve so they decided to fiddle with it. 20 minutes later a miracle was performed! A glorious fire was blazing. They even made sure there wasn't an issue with carbon monoxide. Not only did these guys save me money they restored my excitement about home ownership. Another company quoted me a price to put things in order, however when their guy came out he basically doubled that price.
