The birthday girl had the short rib grilled cheese which looked exactly like the pictures. She managed to eat the whole thing. I had the steamed clams. The presentation was totally unexpected. It had a pizza dough topper that was puffed up with the clams, linguica & broth nice and steamy underneath. It was an amazing preparation and the dough helped tame some of the spiciness from the linguica. We all said we would come back. I would give this restaurant a solid 4.5 stars as the refill of our water was a big sluggish. Since you cannot rate in 1/2 star increments, I gave it a 5.

Our server, Sydney, was friendly, helpful, and made sure we had everything we needed. The clams were served inside a bread-like pastry. My husband especially enjoyed that part, while I skipped the bread and dug right into the clams--they were fresh and delicious. The lobster bisque was rich, flavorful, and just as good. One unexpected bit of entertainment came from the couple seated next to us. It sounded like they were on a first date, and while I certainly wasn't trying to eavesdrop, they were talking so loudly it was impossible not to overhear! They seemed to be having a wonderful time, and it added a lighthearted touch to our lunch. Hope springs eternal! Overall, I was very happy with both our meal and the beautiful waterfront setting. I'd definitely stop here again the next time we're passing through Stuart. The only thing that gave me pause was the dinner menu, which looked a bit pricey, but for lunch this was a very enjoyable stop. You don't need a reservation for lunch so that was a plus. I called and left a message twice but never received any return call. We almost considered not going, and we were not asked about our reservations (that I was finally able to make online). We arrived when they opened at noon (on a weekday), and other than one other table that arrived soon after us, we were the only ones there until we left a little over an hour later. Still, this place wasn't full, so I'm not sure about the hype concerning the need for reservations. There was only 1 server, who was very friendly and helpful but seemed overly busy. It looked as if a manager might have wandered in and out briefly. The kitchen is open, so there was a bit of noise coming from there. This place is not very large. The food was very good. We both enjoyed the soup. I had the Southwestern veggie, which was the soup of the day. It was very spicy, but I was able to tone it down with some sour cream. We shared the Margarita flatbread. It was very good. The tomatoes were extra delicious. My date had the lobster and shrimp bisque and loved it. He also had the strip steak, which he ordered medium well, but it wasn't, more like medium rare. He had the brussel sprouts and potatoes as sides and really liked them. I had the Baja cod tacos, blackened, and I would definitely get them again but ask for the sauce to be on the side instead of drizzled everywhere but on the actual tacos. It was difficult to scoop it up and get it on my tacos. I also had a side of potatoes, and they were wonderful, thin layers with generous amounts of cheese. I took most of them home (we had lots of leftovers) and they reheated really well. We tried two desserts: a flourless chocolate cake and a carrot cake. The desserts were the only dishes we weren't impressed with. The chocolate cake was ho-hum, basically tasted like fudge. The carrot cake was 80% raisins and other dried fruit.
