Currently staying here, tomorrow is our final day. Love the pull throughs, pools are great BUT they do not enforce the adult only, trying to buy a drink Sunday, 10 year old kids sitting at the alcohol bar blocking seats, kids screaming and jumping around (don't advertise adult only unless it is). Very clean park. Good luck finding staff to wait on you at the restaurant. Monday the bar and restaurant to the pool area were closed so no pool side service . Tuesday, bar open, no one around to serve though. Staff is super friendly when you interact with them but just know the perks like poolside bar, adults only pool and poolside service are spotty and you will NOT be enjoying an adults only pool. Shuttle is super clean, on time, great perk for visiting Kings Island. Overall, we booked for certain advertised perks that we didn't get so we would not return at $150 a night. read more

I am a season pass holder for six flags, and we visit multiple parks throughout the summer. Kings Island is a must for us and the highlight of the summer. We live in Grand Rapids MI so its a decent drive for us, especially pulling a camper. Since 2021 we have stayed at what was originally called Camp Cedar for every visit to KI because we prefer camping while we stay. The campground is amazing. We have loved to visit the bar throughout our time there and have dinner at least one of the nights we stay, until this year. This past Saturday, September 5th, we went into KI in the morning. It was a pretty hot day, so we decided to head back to the campground, take a swim in the pool and then grab a drink and have dinner at the pool bar/main restaurant area. We spotted a couple of open seats at the bar, so we went over (inside area looking out into the pool area) and sat down. The area had not been cleaned off and there appeared to be a to go box still sitting on the bar where we sat. It was clear whoever sat there before had forgotten to take their food with them. There were numerous people behind the bar and there was a younger guy washing glasses right in front of us, facing us. He never made eye contact but in my experience as a former bartender myself, I am pretty sure he was just trying to help out whoever was bartending by getting them caught up and that he was not authorized to wait on people. No one ever made eye contact with us or acknowledged we were there for what seemed to be forever. Then an older couple sat down to the right side of us. The bartender, a lady with dark brown hair, rushed over to them to give them a hug and clear the bar in front of them to take their order. We lifted up our things so that she was able to wipe the bar in front of us as well, assuming we were going to finally get waited on. She never made eye contact. She then picked up the to go box and asked everyone around us if it was theirs, still not making eye contact with us. (WHICH SEEMED WEIRD). I said out loud, "It was here when we sat down" so that maybe we could finally be acknowledged. Nope. She waited on the older couple, got them drinks and proceeded to go on as if we did not exist. This was where my girlfriend started to get upset and said, "okay, let's go". I thought I would at least give it a shot and try to get her attention, so I said out loud, "excuse me mam". I know she heard me. She didn't even look at me. Just pretended we were not there. I looked over at the man on the left of me and (he was watching this happen from the start) he said to me, "This is unbelievable!" I responded by asking him, "did I do something?" he shook his head no and was beside himself just as we were. Even the older couple to the right of us that she was so excited to see looked at us with their arms in the air acknowledging what everyone had seen. This was embarrassing. This was humiliating for both me and my girlfriend. My girlfriend wanted to pack up everything and leave for home right then. I just suggested that we do not return to the bar/restaurant again and try to enjoy the rest of our visit as we had paid for three nights and planning to leave Monday. I was wearing a Michigan State shirt. That is the only thing I can think of that I could have done to "upset" this lady. She blatantly ignored us on purpose and it was humiliating. I have bartended as well as been the General Manager of a couple different bars/restaurants in the past. I would never let this person step foot behind a bar that I was in charge of ever again. Pretty sure we won't ever be back. This has ruined what we considered to be the highlight of our summer. Even though the kids had a good time, I had several issues. 1. Rude woman at front desk canceled my reservation claiming to be the Manager. I had to call around to multiple locations in order to get in contact with someone to assist me. 2. I reserved a Boo Boo Cabin with a Propane Fire pit but received a regular fire pit. Had to purchase firewood and starter kit. 3. Floors of the cabin were extremely dirty!!! 4. Wi-Fi wasn't working, Netflix wasn't working, had maybe 7 TV channels available. 5. Loft area was extremely HOT and the kids slept downstairs on the pull-out sofa (thank God we had a pull-out sofa). 6. Rented a Cabana for $106.75 spoke with Events about 2 pizzas and 2 pitchers of soda to be delivered to our Cabana and they were not delivered. I had to go get my own food and pitchers which made things very difficult, trying to watch 8 children by myself and go get their food. 7. The showers at the pools were broken so I had to have everyone rinse off back at the cabin which was a huge mess. The Activities were great and the staff running the activities were great! Kids got bored in the evening; I wish there were more activities later in the day. The playground area could be built up to accommodate older kids too; the bouncy pillow was really the only thing they could play on. Enjoyed listening to the live music. read more

Great campground for visits to Kings Island or other Cincy attractions. While located just off I-71 its easy to get to, our site was close to the pool so the only clue we were in an urban area was a tall Speedway gas station sign. We got a great pull through site right next to the pools. The pools were wonderful, very clean with a nice large kid pool and a separate pool with food/drink at the 21 and over pool. Bath/shower houses were immaculate and in good condition. One shower is larger than others, wish they would add a handicap sign on that one to encourage that people with mobility issues get first priority. There is room for a stool or bench in there to make dressing easier. Site was pretty level and everything worked great. We have a sticker on our camper that says WE ALWAYS LEAVE THE CAMPSITE CLEANER THAN WE FOUND IT. That wasn't possible here as it was totally clean when we arrived. We made sure it was when we left I enjoyed a day at the pool while the family used the discounted KI tickets. Great stay! read more

I will say the most friendliest staff ever we just pulled in on Monday as we were walking our dogs the bartender Misty offered them a pup cup they absolutely loved it and before we knew it it was 8:00 p.m. and we were just chit chatting away we had the loaded chicken nachos which was amazing and Misty kept our drinks full and cold. She was telling us about all the new things happening and about the live band this coming Friday which we will for sure be there along with all our friends and family. We had a wonderful time! We go every summer with our family and it's the perfect place for adults and kiddos! The splash pad may be my favorite as the water gradually gets deeper so you're not stuck sitting in either half a foot of water or 3ft. Our cabin was perfect with two bedrooms that each had their own bathroom. The food has gotten better over the years and the menu has a whole assortment to offer that even after 4 days of eating lunch and dinner there, I still haven't tried everything I wanted to. The staff was friendly, specifically bartender Mark, who catered to our almost every need including the pets, the toddler and always kept our favorite drinks up and ready! We stopped here with our RV for three nights. Online it looked like a beautiful place, but we were disappointed once arrived. The rv pads are level but tight. A golf cart was parked in our assigned spot where our truck should be. I had to go to the office and complain. We went to the restaurant for dinner and there was only one employee working the entire place including the bar. At least 40 people sitting around waiting. We decided to leave and have dinner offsite. The next day we went to the pool and the beach box bar was closed. After inquiring, they said it's only open on the weekends. We went into the restaurant to get drinks from the bar and they were all out of rum and tequila. Only had vodka... disappointing when we wanted piña coladas or margaritas. Overall the campground was clean but it needs better management. Won't return. read more

Simply amazing place. I travel a lot with my children, and they said that Kings Island Camp Cedar is one of their favorite places that we've ever visited as a family. I have to agree! We all had a great time here. The resort has RV camp sites and cottages, and we stayed in one of the cottages that slept four people. Our cottage had one queen bed in a bedroom on the bottom floor, and also a queen bed in the upstairs loft area. One thing to mention is that the loft area can get a little hot and stuffy if you're visiting during the summer, which is when we stayed there. But the cottages have central air, so that helps a little. Our cottage also had a full bathroom with a great shower and bathtub, a full kitchen, a broom closet, a living room area, and a deck with a fire pit and sitting area. The cottages are truly a home away from home. It's not necessary, but I recommend renting a golf cart while you're there! My kids got a kick out of it, and it helps to get around the area a lot quicker. Because you will probably want to visit the amenities around the resort. There are two huge pools: one for everyone, and one just for adults. I never did get around to visiting the adult-only pool, but the general pool was amazing, and I typically dislike pools. The pool here is heated, so there is no adjusting period: you just walk right in and start swimming. It also has a waterfall feature, and two basketball nets with balls available to play with. There are lots of reclining chairs everywhere, and cabanas to rent. Right by the pool is what they call Belize Street, with a little row of restaurants that sell different things, like Mexican food, hot dogs and ice cream. Only a couple of them were open when we visited, but we bought some popcorn and drinks, and took them back to the pool area. It's nice to have food options so close by the pool! Speaking of food, there is also a full restaurant on site, with indoor dining. We ate there our last night, and they have a good kids menu with lots of options. You'll also find a general store with a coffee shop, which serves gelato and other ice cream treats (as well as s'mores on a stick!). They also have a gym here! The gym at Camp Cedar is way better than it needs to be. I liked it a lot and appreciated the neatness and abundance of exercise equipment. You'll find ellipticals, treadmills, stationary bikes, weights, resistance bands, balls, and more. Let's see, what else? Oh yeah, there's also a basketball court and tennis court (or maybe it's a pickleball court?) on site, too. There are a couple of walking paths, too, that will take you a bit into a wooded area. We didn't even visit to go to King's Island -- but if we did, there is a shuttle that runs frequently to and from the park from here. read more

This is a great campground! They are not specifically affiliated with Kings Island anymore, but have a shuttle that can take you and pick you up which was convenient. Great paved sites. Very little shade on the RV sites though, so bring your own shade. They have a family pool and adult pool. Pools are great, and you can rent Cabanas for the day (they even have mini fridges and TVs in the cabanas). Staff was really nice. They have an activity center where the kids can do crafts and check out games. Two bars on site for pool drinks and an ice cream place. Cute little cabins and rental campers available. Very frustrated that I stayed there over two months ago and got 400$ taken out of my account that I have not received back. Keep calling, no answer. Apparently this has happened to multiple people. We had read reviews about site spacing being quite small. We stayed on the back row in the 200's. These don't have site spacing issues, and although close, you have plenty of room to back in. Value is hard to define here. We paid $750(ish) total for 3 nights and 2 days of theme park admission. The campground - even on a weekend during summer - was maybe at 60% capacity. Pools, food, and bars were open and the facilities were in great shape. With that said, our site was pretty gross. There was a ton of dead grass and dog poop on our site. The site's aren't cleaned between campers and this is evident. We loved Kings Island but Soak City isn't large enough to handle the crowds. They should either limit capacity or come up with some other solution for that specific part of the park. Pro's: 1) Great amenities for the entire family including an adult only pool, bar, food, and kids activities. 2) A shuttle that runs every 10-15 minutes from CG to Kings Island. 3) Good location just outside Cincinnati. 4) Trash receptacles located every several sites making it easy to take the trash out. 5) Concrete pad's and good utilities. 6) Lightning fast TMobile (didn't even need Starlink) Con's: 1) Actual site cleanliness was terrible. 2) Interior sites have narrow roads and spots. Try and stay in the 200's. 3) Expensive nightly stay's (at around $120+ before ticket prices) We'd stay here again if visiting King's island. read more

This review is for the new camp cedar. It's really a hard place to review since it's still new they are still ironing out some kinks. Positives: the staff is exceptional, the food is decent, golf carts are a blast, the outdoor areas were clean and well maintained, the cabins were cute and fun, kings island shuttle was convenient. Negatives: the WiFi is junk, the cabin we stayed in wasn't properly cleaned (our socks were dirty from the floor on day 1), the "loft" area in cabins are hot and not safe for you g kids, the bathroom by the pool wasn't being maintained and the floor was always slick and filthy and the kids pool is pretty small. All that aside it was a memorable staycation for us. We will be back and I have faith as time goes by little things will be improved. read more

Let me just say this place is TOO EXPENSIVE... Especially for the quality of service and how dirty all the facilities are. I live in my rv year round. My boyfriend is older so he has to have more room to move and sleep. So I have reviews on both cabins and an rv site. First day there, huge windstorm happens and literally RIPPED my awning off. We placed it on the ground seeing as there was no way to properly dispose of it because it was the soze of my rv. Instead of offering to help, we get a PHONE CALL (not even 300 feet from the office mind you.) Terry and her band of employees start harassing me about my campsite not being "to our certain standards and appearance" meanwhile I let them know I had no way to dispose of my awning (which I would've liked to reattach but wasn't given an option while staying there.) This was around the time we also got a smaller cabin. This cabins bedroom door wouldn't stay open while trying to carry luggage in, the bathtub felt like it was going to but through the floor, there was barely any cookware in almost any of them. Shower curtains hang too low and have mold and pool in the water in the bottom. Have found numerous stray hairs in supposedly cleaned room. After three weeks of stay We went and stayed at Lake Cowan. Had to come back because most state parks are closed. When we come back MRS TERRY states "we don't have any spots or cabins available" and refused to make us a reservation. So we reserved online to spite this woman. And ever since she's been driving up and trying to say she didn't recognize us.. the second cabin we went to had a loft. It also had fleas jumping on me immediately when laying in the bed and I had to purchase flea killer spray to not have to deal with this upturned nosed judgy lady. And if that wasn't enough... SOMEEEONE TURNED THE HOT WATER OFF IN THE CLOSET SO WE DIDNT HAVE HOT WATER... Lastly the last cabin we stayed in was the exact same spot cabin as the first with the weird bath tub and door that was messed up and there was a big black stain on the com we have probably spent close to $6,000 in two months because of circumstances and weather, and let just say I wish I could have my money back. read more

This place is awesome we stayed here during the winter season and my boyfriend and I loved it we stayed for 3 nights and 4 days and would absolutely come back. We plan on doing so in the spring or summer or next time we are visiting family in Ohio. You get your own cabin and it's exactly like a tiny apartment. The water pressure in the shower is very strong and hurt the skin a little but that's teeny tiny not much of a complaint. We stayed in a one bedroom and we had a kitchen with a full size fridge and a living area with a tv there and in the bedroom. The people at the front desk were so nice we spoke with Alex the most and he was very nice. We even had someone come around and shovel our pathway out so we could step on the stairs and rock path without slipping on snow. They have a lot of cool stuff to do when it's warmer out that I can't wait to experience next time! read more

The name now is actually Camp Cedar. It's a very nice campground offering cottages and RV camping. The cottage we rented was clean and cute. There's not much room to move around if you have small children and more than four people even in the ones that sleep 8 people. For safety, there should be handles on the ladder to the loft and slip pads on the rungs. The property is very nice and I enjoyed the small trail they have made. It's very convenient to Kings Island and they offer shuttle service. I would stay here again. Hopefully they consider making an area for tent campers. read more

We stayed here for a 3 day weekend. The campsite was muddy from recent rain. There was straw down but not near enough. Sites were terribly close together. No shade. We were on the annex side. Not what we expected. The pool, lobby and restaurants were all on the other side of the road. The restaurants were open during their down time which was a nice surprise. We ate at a couple of them. The food was very good. The open aired bar was very nice. The dog park did not exist. It was just open ground with a doggy bag pole in the center. For the price this was not what I expected. However, the proximity to Kings Island was excellent and the shuttle buses ran pretty much non stop. If you're expecting a traditional camping experience this is not it. However, it is an excellent spot to park your camper to go to Kings Island. read more

I haven't stayed here yet but my review is based solely on reaching out for information via email. I wasn't sure if they offered day passes and if they didn't I wanted to see if any of the cottages were handicap/ wheelchair accessible. I got a clear no on the fact that they did not offer day passes and you had to stay. But my second question was never answered. I even sent a second email reply and never received an answer back. Poor customer service so far. Maybe my review will change if I can get some answers and book a trip. But until then the poor customer service and communication has left me questioning even going. read more

Ok guys. I'm not usually one to write super negative reviews, but here goes...the pictures online sold us. My husband and I were separated and recently reconciled so we thought we'd take our season Kings Island passes and stay somewhere different after going to the park, so we chose here. The website says we can check in up to two hours early for $10 extra per hour, so when we tried, we were immediately told no. We were soaked from the torrential downpour at Kings Island, so I found David, the only good thing about this "retreat." He helped us get in early. We got in to our cabin and noticed stains EVERYWHERE, our bed pillows had yellow stains on them and the bed sheets and comforter were folded and in a pile on the bed. There were bugs crawling on the wall because when the front door is shut, there's a half inch gap where they can come in. Also about 10 dead bugs on the window sills. It's a minimum of $350/night. I'd think for that price it should be cleaner, not cost extra to check in early if your cabin is ready, not have big stains on the pillows, and we shouldn't have to make our own beds. Just sayin. Either charge less or provide cleaner spaces. Just sayin...never again. read more

We spent 4 nights at Camp Cedar in June. The location near Kings Island was great. The free shuttle service was excellent. The camping sites were nice and had a separate parking space for vehicle, gas fire pit was provided. The pool was clean but I think a break every 2 hours is necessary because there were so many underage kids without parents. This would give the lifeguards the opportunity to see if parents had guardians or if they were just dropped off to fend for themselves. There were too many glitches that tell me the processes are not well understood by staff, or perhaps they don't have processes? First, we were moved to a different campsite- turns out the reservationist never locked in our site. Second, we reserved a cabana and even with the receipt in hand the guard insisted we didn't have a reservation which necessitated talking with the manager- turns out they overbooked. Third, I watched the young bar tender. He was making too much in the blender and then throwing it away. Fourth, we went to the grill which is now open. It was 7pm. It was not busy. We ordered salads and pizzas. We asked the waitress for our salads to be brought first. Waitress said, of course. An hour later, we had not received our salads. We had three hungry kids with us, so we left. The management team was good about trying to make things right, but well trained staff is what makes for a great experience. read more

Nothing luxury about it. First time I've ever felt the need to gripe and I'm definitely not one to do so. Usually a sans Karen. Got in early at 3 knowing check in was 4 figured it was worth a shot but the room wasn't ready. No big deal, so we found something to do and came back after 4. Room was not ready, asked when it would be and the response was maybe 5. Lost me at maybe. Asked for a more clear time and she said that was impossible to know but usually they are ready around 5. Check in is 4 not 5. The statement usually around 5 tells me this happens often. Asked nicely to cancel so the nice attendant goes to talk to the manager who is too lazy to talk to us and tells the attendant to tell us to cancel through Expedia. After an hour and a half of no resolve and unable to get a refund we decided to try again at 5:30. Rooms not ready. Still no manager to be seen leaving a young attendant with no power to fix our situation. Manager never came out of his office to talk to us and we were unable to get a refund or voucher even when they were now 2 hours past having our room being ready. I understand being short staffed but I don't understand doing nothing to let us know that our room was running late or not being a manager and helping a paying customer who is out of town with no where else to go. Finally get checked in by 6. Room/cabin is less than expected and far from advertised. Bring a crowbar to get in and out of the bathroom as the door will definitely get stuck. The bedroom door won't close at all. There is what looks like to be black mold around the shower head. If you eat at the restaurant be warned prices are bloated and they excessively water down their sauces. You'll get better food at McDonald's. Nothing in the general store is priced which is straight up shady business. You have to ask another attendant what anything cost and they might know. I should have done more research. Looked online and there were people with similar experiences. One had found a used condom in their room and still no refund. read more

We did a two night stay in a cottage here... the cottage itself is super cute and you know when it opened it was pretty amazing. But now that it's been around for a bit, things are lacking. I really really wanted to love this, but the more I looked around the more grossed out I got at the filth. Everywhere. Not basic wear and tear, but pure lack of cleaning. For the money you pay to stay in one of these cottages, this shouldn't be what you're noticing. The pool was really nice, and the restaurant was good-but too expensive for what you got. I hope management looks into the cleanliness of their facilities and improves. read more

Was skeptical about staying here from the reviews. HOWEVER - this was a fantastic campground for the location (no wilderness due to location but new, friendly staff and clean).!! We stayed 2 nights in our RV and got the 2 day kings island pass with parking. Our children are little, so we drove our RV to the park (RV lot is right up front and not crowded on 4th of July weekend) but they do have shuttles every 15 min. The staff was so friendly. Our garbage was picked up immediately every morning. Our propane fire pit was easy to use. The pool was fun. Our 3 year old loved the park. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to everyone. read more

This camp is great. The pool and amenities were fun and enjoyable and great for down time when you are not in kings island. However at night, the RV park lacks security, and lots of strange crowds come to hang around the park at late hours of the night. We stayed for 3 nights and on our 3rd night noticed a large crowd of around 20-30 younger people outside standing around going in and out of cottages which they seemed to not be staying at. This also might explain why the cottages were reportedly so dirty. Some of these younger people were carrying weapons. Finally a couple of sheriffs were called. When we spoke to a woman at the front desk, she let us know that we are not the first to complain about the lack of safety at night and that her manager could not be spoken to as they were not in, despite it being the middle of the day on a Monday. Hopefully an effort will be made to change this soon. Apart from that, the park was wonderful. read more
