I've always loved Kings! The pizza is amazing, the food is always top-notch, and the service is consistently great. The staff are so friendly and accommodating every time I go. Today I picked up my dinner and noticed they had homemade baklava--one of my favorite desserts. Let me tell you, it was absolutely to die for! We were enjoying a stroll in Gloucester after a boat ride and in search of something quick and really didn't expect much from the bland, dusty-looking diner building, but don't let the looks fool ya. (If it's looks that you're after, go a few blocks down to more hip restaurants in Gloucester main street). Menu has a admirable selection of your pizza/diner fares, and one caught my eye: "Melenzane - breaded eggplant, caramelized onions, ricotta, mozza and our special sweet pizza sauce". The result? The BEST melenzane pizza I've ever tried. The eggplant's cooking, the onions, the sauce, they're all competing for your attention in a delightful combo of flavors. I'm not kidding, the pictures don't do it justice. The next time we pass by the Manchester/Gloucester/Rockport area, this is a definite revisit! We ate out due to pandemic in a concrete round table right by of the side door, sipping Fanta grape and overlooking a giant lobster mural. What else can you ask for? read more

giving one star because i can't give 0, i've ordered from kings a few times, disappointed every time. first time i ordered doordash from them to essex, i didn't have a driver for hours when all of the sudden i get a phone call to come outside because my driver is here? turns out it was a personal driver from kings who proceeded to scold me because they "don't deliver to Essex" but it was available in my area...i said they should've declined the order if they didn't deliver to essex as doordash shows your town when you place your order, "we thought it was essex street"...that's not my fault and i should not be getting yelled at for it....and not to mention the clams i ordered were nasty second time i got mac and cheese from there and it tasted like i was eating cardboard just got a hot dog from them today and it was $9 for a sausage on a sub roll, i can get a better AND CHEAPER hot dog at FENWAY hate this place and ill die on this hill, ill never get the hype read more

Haven't tried the pizza or roast beef because my partner and I are addicted to the chicken kebab wraps. Prices under the new owners are still reasonable. Good service, and nice. They do get busy with takeout orders in the evening, not sure about lunch-time. This is a top choice for us. read more

Take out | Dinner | $20-30 I ordered dinner and it was horrible! I ordered a BLT the bacon was burnt to a crisp it was disgusting like how do you burn it so bad and the think it's ok to put it on a sub like why wouldn't you make the bacon over after knowing you screwed up the first time. I also ordered steak tip Alfredo and you would have thought they poured a pound of salt in it and the pasta was extremely under cooked my daughter couldn't even eat it. The mozzarella sticks were under cooked as well the only thing that came out decent was the chicken wings. The fact that I spent $62.50 on dinner and the food was that disgusting is ridiculous. I feel the longer they have been open the more careless they care about the quality of their food. When they first took over the restaurant it was great the food was great now it just seems like they couldn't care less about what and how they serve their food. I'm done going to this place as the food gets more disgusting as I go and for the prices people are paying you should be putting out better quality food. Also the girl who works up front is always in a bad mood and just absolutely rude. If you can't be nice to your customers then you shouldn't work there. Then he started to make my sandwich grabbing a bun with his bare hands with no plastic gloves. Disgusting. This is complete violation of Massachusetts sanitary regulations that requires glove usage for all ready to eat foods. I informed them about this and demanded my money back. The worst experience in food I have ever had. Total cost $100.97 French fries ice cold onion rings same. Ordered a cheeseburger SUB got cheeseburger on bun, shrimp 10 and a half pound of breadcrumbs. Tried Kings in Gloucester ordered large steak and cheese was good, worth the cost, however the onion rings were burnt and 90% crunchy burnt batter, I called and asked for credit or refund and the woman who answered wouldn't provide either.
