But we didn't know they closed at 6! Lol - Thanks Aunties! The food is just as delicious as ever - crispy, flavorful, and now they offer it topped with a fried egg and chili oil on the side... he was in heaven! We also spotted fresh lumpia in the warmer last time, so we'll definitely be back to try that next. If you're a sisig fan (or looking to become one), I highly recommend Sw8 Dada's Sisig! My thing is, I've had different preparations of both the lechon and sisig before. I have to say that the ones I got from home-cooked versions versus commercial versions are different (at least for me it has.) It seems as if the sisig and lechon were initially boiled to cook it thoroughly, then they fry it before they serve it to you to get that crispy feel from the skin. The thing is, the jello-like/slightly slimy texture of the fat leads one to believe that it was boiled first or at least not fried thoroughly. There's nothing wrong with boiling as long as the skin and fat come through as crispy. The skin was crispy, but the fat wasn't. Perhaps, they just need to fry it a little more. Other than that, if it was crispy throughout, I would've given it 5 stars. I'm looking forward to trying the other things on the menu like the beef pares.

We talk story, woman comes and gives me a menu, asks if I want coffee. I get the coffee and place my order. Smokemeat fried rice omelette and short stack banana pancakes. Everyone on the counter, except me, is addressed by their name (towards each other as well). One guy gets a honi as he leaves. Others are greeted by name as they enter. Brah! Das neighborhood coffee shop. I also know now why the banana pancakes are so darn good. We were overstuffed after eating that and downing the real star of the show here which was the pho. The meat was tender and flavorful and the broth was so good! It has a meaty flavor I have not experienced elsewhere. My gf knew going in when she ordered the Beef Back ribs that it was going to be more than she could eat and she truly struggled, it was a lot of meat even with my help. She thoroughly enjoyed every bite though. Service here was attentive and quick. Our food came out really fast, and the kind servers made sure to keep our water topped off and check in on us often.
