Ordered a coconut coffee. With tip, it cost well over $10. The cup they gave me had a crack on the bottom, and I lost about a fourth of the drink on my pants and all over my car before I was able to transfer it to a different cup. They're apparently not answering their phone tonight, so I guess I'll have to give them and their customers a heads up through this review. While on vacation with my son's we visited this spot because we wanted some boba. The previous places we tried to visit had really terrible parking. Although the parking for this place wasn't that much better it at least had somewhat of a tiny parking lot designated for it and the other establishments they shared their small strip mall with. The place is bright, airy and clean. A few tables if you want to hang out. We walked in on a Monday night around 7PM and were the only people there. We were greeted with a smile and the gentlemen behind the counter were more than happy to answer our questions. I chose the mango pomelo with lychee jelly I believe. Although it was delicious what threw me off were the strips of pomelo in it. I guess you can't say there isn't real fruit in it. Other than that it was delicious. I read a review by my friend, Irene, and decided to go on a Sunday when metered street parking is free! King's Tea is located on Kalakaua Avenue between Young Street and King Street. There's a self-storage business across the street (Kalakaua Avenue). Inside the clean, cozy shop, there are some seats for indoor dining. I liked the cute decor and Instagram opportunities. At first, I ordered a shaved ice. There were some language challenges, and I had to figure out that they didn't have fruit cocktail... not sure. I think the bottom line is that they might not be ready to serve shaved ice yet? I ended up getting a Strawberry Fruit Tea and a Dragon Fruit Sugarcane juice. The gal packed it to go... ok... haha... I can leave... The drinks were on the sweet side. I believe she asked me if I wanted a sweet drink - I thought she meant "sweet" as opposed to "tart" like a lemonade. Oh, well... It is tucked away on Kalakaua across from the Storage place, near 7-Eleven and close to Hele on King St. Limited street parking out front. I walked so I'm not sure how much the parking costs. [Ambiance] King's Tea has a welcoming environment with flowers, plenty of seating and even a chandelier in the ceiling. They even have WiFi for paying customers! I suspect they have a restroom but I never asked. [Service] A pretty lady, who I assume is the owner, was super sweet. She made my boyfriend's Taro Shake with care and offered me a bag for my drinks. I ordered the Oolong Milk Tea with boba. I was never asked what level of sweetness, but it worked out because the default sweetness level is perfect in my opinion. The cashier was shy but kind. [Drinks] Both my milk tea and my boyfriend's shake were delicious and fresh. However, his Taro Shake and my Oolong Milk Tea tasted chocolatey--which isn't unpleasant by any means but was surprising. My drink didn't have a powerful Oolong flavor but it was super addictive. I want to go back and try their sugarcane juice (I just know it will be refreshing) as well as their food offerings! Located on Kalakaua not to be mistaken for Waikiki but the opposite direction towards Punahou it's located right across Extra Space Storage, the staff here don't speak much English and the music in here is extremely loud like your in a club loud and be you this communication was literally non-existent. More so the struggle was real that another customer tried to help which was nice but we could barely hear each other as well lol! My question was what's inside your Lotus Fruit Tea...well it's a tea made from the lotus leaves and has lotus fruit in it as well...just one size available no ice or sweetness level is decided just to get it as is apparently. Luckily I just went to the bank as they don't have their credit machine set yet it's cash or Venmo only at the moment. The Lotus tea is very light and mellow slight minty aftertaste is different, this is not your ordinary tea place which I do love though the parking situation will be the real struggle I'd you do t lose your hearing from here but since I went on a Sunday the metered parking is free. I have tried to give this place multiple chances, and have come about 3 times before. Each time, I leave a little more disappointed but I won't be returning again as I don't think it's worth my money. The boba is decent, but extremely overpriced. With tax, it came out to $8.10 for brown sugar milk tea with boba, much higher than other places nearby. I came in and got that order, but they didn't give me boba, they gave me rainbow argar. I'm not quite sure how you can confuse the two, as they don't sound remotely similar. I admit it's my fault for not saying anything, and I should've asked why there's no boba. What I don't understand is how she got confused because she even double checked with me and asked me if I wanted BOBA in my drink and I said yes. We tried the lemongrass peach orange tea, taro shake and King's Milk Tea with all the toppings. It's a brand new boba shop with a funny logo of a baby on their cups. There is plenty of seating and they are open pretty late. The taro shake tasted really fresh and wasn't icy at all, they use real taro so it's not as sweet as other places that use taro powder. The King's Milk Tea was also not super sweet and you could really taste the tea flavor and not just the creamer, it was also great to try all the different toppings they offer! The orange peach lemongrass tea was super refreshing and the sweetest drink we tried. The prices are super reasonable for the quality and there's also free wifi available. We got two teas which were okay, the boba was also a good soft but chewy texture the sweetness was just right after being adjusted to 50%. My husband and I were in the area on a Friday night and bummed to find out they were closed. We came back when they were open and were stoked that they had the buy 2 get 1 free promo going on. I wanted to know what the Happy Milk Tea was, but the guy at the register didn't seem to understand English. So the lady (who knew a little English) tried to help, but still could not explain it...I'm glad she tried, but other customers might ask the same questions too... Came back to give this place another try and was greeted by a very friendly lady. I ordered a banh mi and Vietnamese coffee. The coffee was strong, bold flavor with a hint of chocolatey sweetness. Woke me up and hit the spot. I ordered the traditional Banh Mi. It is a Vietnamese sandwich made with a Crusty French bread rolls smeared with pate, mayo, Asian ham, pickled vegetables, green onion, coriander/cilantro, fresh chillies and drizzle of seasoning. I've been to King's Tea a few times and have tried their: peach, orange, & lemongrass tea, matcha passionfruit, kumquat sugarcane, and lotus fruit tea. Parking may be tricking since I believe they don't have a lot... just street parking? They fall towards the "expensive" side but it is understandable since they have unique drinks which may costly to source the ingredients. Out of everything, I would have to say their peach, orange, & lemongrass tea is the best. It's super refreshing and for those who aren't familiar with the flavor of lemongrass/thrown off by the idea of it, don't worry because it is just a slight hint! There's also peach(?) bits included in the drink which was a nice surprise because I didn't order any toppings. The matcha passionfruit has a balanced mix of both flavors; there are passionfruit seeds and I'm not entirely sure if they can make the drink without it but I like it because there's something to chew on. And the matcha is not too strong. Kumquat sugarcane is pretty much what you would expect it to be. Lotus fruit tea is my least favorite because my expectations were coming from a lotus tea I had elsewhere but King's Tea lotus tea had a hint of lychee to it, and it came with a type of bean(?) topping. read more

Upon returning from our treachous hike, I was craving for some sweet drinks, boba perhaps. We stumbled upon this little tea shop on our way back to the hotel. This cute little shop was decked out for upcoming Vietnamese new year and loud viet music was playing. My husband ordered their most popular drink, King's milk tea with full toppings.
