Brown Sugar Milk Tea w/ Brown Sugar Boba
    Jennifer T.

Went to Hana tea for the first time since they moved to this new location and it's still just as fantastic as their former Pearl City and Kalihi location! The Genmai is a must!

Our favorite boba tea....brown sugar milk tea with brown sugar boba.

My go to for my norm, my brown sugar milk tea with brown sugar boba. I have to remember to get a medium or small and not the large. For a big back, lol I always get full from the large and end up wasting. I got to try the wife's dragon fruit yogurt and it was actually good. Not bad. Not my cup of tea. Lol I think moreso, I actually enjoyed the lychee jelly lol. But was good not bad. Customer service always great. She was nice and friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Every time I walk in feels so clean, like the ambiance, soft music. Great vibes. Cute decor. Tables to sit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Gotta ask for key to go bathroom.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Don't forget to tip (optional), your straw, and to take pretty pictures of your drink and decor lol get street parking right out front. Located on halekauwila. Came here right after picking up sabrozon for dinner, since they located on the same street. I got my boba and burrito fix!

It's been a long time since I've had drinks from here. Service was fast and easy. A lot of choices you can order from. I ordered the Triple Matcha that came with matcha pudding and matcha creamy cake, and Classic milk tea with mixed boba and creamy cake, all at 75% less sugar.

4.5 stars Came in and tried three drinks -- all worth it! The brown sugar milk tea with boba at 75% less sweet was absolutely the star of the show. Just the right amount of sweetness without the sugar rush. Highly recommend customizing your sweetness level here! The tea and coffee milk tea with crystal boba hit that perfect Hong Kong café nostalgia, and the crystal boba was a fun twist. Also grabbed the peach green tea with boba -- light, fruity, and super refreshing. Boba is $0.75 extra on any drink, which is fair. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The shop is clean, bright, and smells amazing -- that fresh tea aroma the moment you walk in just sets the whole mood.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Will definitely be back! Note: meter parking

Not the same :( Used to be obsessed with Hana Tea before it relocated. I was warned by friends that it's not as good now but I was still excited to try the new location. I got the classic brown sugar boba - it was bland, too milky & boba didn't taste fresh. Very different than the original for sure. Unfortunate. Parking: 20 minutes free in the structure to its right.

Hana Tea was one of the first boba places I tried back when they first opened in their original location several years ago near Dillingham. It was the first milk tea I had with the cheese cap and my life has changed since then and I hold everywhere else to that standard. They moved to the new Kakaako location recently which is very conveniently located. IMO, this place is still one of THE best boba places on island. I've had it at least a dozen times and it is very consistent. The brown sugar milk tea with cheese foam is my regular order and my daughter gets the taro milk tea. We do 75% sweet (we have a sweet tooth so I recommend going less if you aren't) and less ice. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice seating, free parking for less than an hour stay.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is super cute and cozy, there's maybe 10-12 tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service is quick and attentive, I had my drink within a few minutes.

I was interested to try this new located in the Kaka'ako (the salt area) since the other one closed down. Larger size shop compared to last one that closed. I wanted to see how the brown sugar milk tea Boba drink compared. Note that this is made with non-dairy creamer without having to substitute. The flavor was on point and similar to what I'm used to, but unfortunately I feel like the Boba texture was not on point. I'm not sure if I got a bad batch, but the texture had no balance or chew to it. that makes me to believe it had been sitting. you also have the option to order ahead of time on their website. Definitely recommend you get the stamp card to accumulate drink points. Overall, I will give this another shot, but as far as standard and quality to what I'm used to from, it was not as good as when I remembered it to be.

@fortunefoodfinds: "Hey cu-TEA! My go-to brown sugar milk tea with brown sugar boba + creamy cake + brûlée cheese foam @ 75% sweetness with less ice from HANA TEA in Kaka'ako. When in the neighborhood, I just had to treat myself to something good!" Staff: fully staffed [[HIGHLIGHT]]Interior: low tables n' bar stools available[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Exterior: in Kaka'ako area Wait time: 10 mins Parking: street or garage Overall comments: my fave boba drink! Order this time n' time again. Sweet, creamy, great taste, n' warm soft boba. On this visit I redeemed my stamp card so the drink was free with up to 2 toppings!

Best boba in town! I've been going to Hana tea for years now and I absolutely love their brown sugar milk tea with brown sugar boba! This is my go to stop for any boba cravings! They used to be located in the dillingham area but they moved to the kakaako area which I think works out better! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute little cafe with a few tables and counter seating for small groups.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have a fairly large menu of fruit teas and milk teas with various toppings. You can choose sweetness level and Ice level as well! The line generally moves pretty fast unless a customer has questions about a drink. There is garage parking available or street parking in the area. Grace period is either 20 or 30min (there is a sign on the Hana tea door) if not they validate as well.

This is my favorite boba shop! I ordered the hojicha latte with soy milk (I forgot my lactaid), and it was delicious! This was actually my first time having hojicha so I can't speak about how good the hojicha was, but I enjoyed it! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior of the cafe is also so cute and the menu has options for everyone.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My cashier, Remy, was so sweet and answered my questions about the drink. Will definitely be trying more things on the menu!

We stopped by in the afternoon and easily parked on the street. We weren't sure what to expect since this was our first boba here in Oahu. However, our drinks did not disappoint - their boba was soft and chewy and their drink was flavorful and not too sweet. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Space was nice and quiet on a weekday, and the workers were efficient and quick.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We made an extra effort to stop here to satisfy our boba craving and also because our pup is named Hana and we miss her.

Grand opening today 10/15/24. Came by to try Hana Tea. 10% off and a free folder, while supplies last. Ambiance: 3/5 stars. Small establishment. Clean and noisy due to Grand opening today. There is a line. Ordered best seller Brown Sugar Milk Tea 1/2 sweet with coffee jelly. Size large is $6.70 less .67 (10%), plus tax .28 cents. Total $6.31. Ordering your tea is fast... and then the wait lol. Your number will be called when ready. Freshly made here. The brown sugar milk tea is smooth and sweet even at 50% less sweet. Coffee jelly is not too strong. The amount of coffee jelly added to the large drink is little lol. I wish there was a bit more coffee jelly added. Food: 3.5/5 stars.

Do they accept gift card or stamp card at this time?

    They don't

Which shopping center are they in?

If you go near Honolulu CC, they are right across the street along the canal. Hope that helps

Do they offer non-dairy options... like almond milk or soy milk?

when i went they said they didnt. be careful they confuse condensed milk with almond milk, almost served me dairy.

Does anyone know if they cater parties? How much the going rate is?

I've seen them do events, like grand opening/employee appreciation for companies, but not sure about their rates.

Can I bring my tiny dog inside?

Sweet fluffy whipped cream that they smear on the inside of the cup.

Sadly, it seemed more folks were there for the pastries though. First off, I'm surprised I found such a fabulous cup of coffee in what feels like the epicenter of tourist life on this island. While visiting another island nearly establishment had signage stating they served Kona and/or Hawaiian coffee, but nearly every establishment's coffee was absolutely awful. Seeing the location I fully expected them to phone in the coffee, but it's clear that coffee comes first here, even if many of the guests are trying to get pastries! You'll be shocked by the line, but just know the staff is efficient and it moves fast. They offer a variety of their own locally roasted beans here, with options for batch brew, espresso drinks and even pour overs (impressive considering the volume of customers). The coffees are well described and the baristas have the additional knowledge you may be seeking when you order, and all in all this went as quickly as I could have expected. Truly, the coffee was delightful, and the fact I was drinking a hot drink on an extremely hot day didn't even phase me. I wanted so badly to bring home a bag of each one, but given that everything is more expensive in Hawaii, these were all 4x the price of the specialty coffee I buy on the mainland and I just couldn't make it happen. Super late review -…read more I'm sad. I really wanted to love this place but I just couldn't. I don't want to be that person when this place has an overall rating of 4.5 but this is just my honest opinion. I got the blue dream and yes it was very ascetically pleasing, but it was just too icy. Before coming to this place i read a couple of reviews that also said the same thing and i didn't understand what that meant, but now I do. There are a lot of flavorless, just regular, small shards of ice in the bowl. On top of that, the moment I received my bowl, it was already borderline melted. So that got me thinking, how can it be melted and icy at the same time? The only explanation that I can think of is just ice additive/fillers. It's not pure cold acai or whatever is in the bowl you choose, but there's a mixture of ice in it too. Yes I understand, it's Waikiki, everything is more expensive, but the added topping prices on top of the already expensive bowl prices just don't make sense. You want a beautiful looking bowl with a lot of different toppings, yet some toppings can go up to 1 dollar PER topping. I don't know if I've just been spoiled by a couple places in SoCal, but at those places they have unlimited toppings and those bowls are the best that there is. I'm not bringing any bias from other locations, but this is just an honest review based on my experience today.

The last time I was here, I had a cafe mocha which was soooooooo good! The staff and the owner were always friendly! CORTADO!! BARK BARK BARK it was perfectly dialed in. very forward chocolate and nut, with a bright drydown. if you wanna taste the fruit notes let it sit for a bit - i got maybe berry/orange peel. milk steamed well with appropiate amount of microfoam. overall would come back to try a flat white!
