A lovely live performance venue that seat 3,000. It was first opened in 1929 and operated by Loew's till 1977 when it closed. The last film there was Bruce Lee: The Man, The Myth 李小龍傳奇/李小龙传奇 that was released in Hong Kong in 1976. After a few years restoration, it reopened in 2015. The interior is pretty and grand, which is 1929 appearance, but the stage is modernized. Parking isn't easy. We gambled in a private lot behind the theater - can't find pay meter after parked. Theatre itself was good, but the area it's in is SUPER SKETCHY so I would probably avoid going there by myself as a girl late at night for a show. Fortunately we went during early afternoon and there were a bunch of families there, but our center-front seats (orchestra section) had a great view and the sound was good as well. Security moved people along promptly upon arrival. Bathrooms are downstairs and easy enough to access. Probably wouldn't go out of my way to go there for another show again, but if you do and you're driving, the only few "Decent" parking garages are still a 15+ min walk away so plan accordingly. read more

Came for the no cap comedy tour with Dee Ray Davis, Michael Blackson, DC Young Fly, Karlos Miller, Lil Ducal, and Chico Brans. I went to the 7pm show, the live lived quickly, and the check-in process was quick; they started on time such I thought wasn't going to happen. Michael Blackson, I thought, would've had more time, and DC had to cut his set short for the 10pm show. It was funny I had a good time but overall an okay show. The theater itself is set up really nicely with two bars. Bathrooms are a maze to get to, especially with a crowd. There's two levels: the lower and balcony, it's not big of a theater, so no matter where you sit, you'll see the stage. I like the changes, and I'm glad they bought it back to life. read more

This Theatre is a gem. In the middle of a block on Flatbush Avenue you've never think this beautiful theatre was inside. It's regal and ornate with statues and plush red curtains. I've seen two shows here and always sat in the orchestra and both seats lead me to believe all the seats are pretty good. There are a lot of stalls in the ladies bathroom and they were clean considering how many women were using them that night. Parking...terrible. Leave yourself plenty time before the show to park if you're driving. read more

Visit Date: November 30, 2022 I came here to see Morrissey. I normally try to avoid concerts because they can get pricey but I love the smiths and I love Morrissey and when my friend told me he was playing I said it needed to happen. So I found her and I tickets. The venue is pretty nice, it looked like it was good viewing from anywhere you sat. The inside was so pretty, an ornate ceiling, ornate walls, it was beautiful. The bathrooms were downstairs. During the show everyone was standing we snuck off to the front to get a little closer and went back to our seats after. Because everyone stood our viewing was impeded but I think if it was a show mostly everyone sat down for we would have been able to see better. Security was amazing I don't know if they worked specifically for Morrissey or the venue but a few people jumped on stage to touch him and were immediately removed from the stage. Crazy, crazy people. I am nuts in my own ways too but as much as I love certain performers I wouldn't jump on a stage to touch them. That might not stop me from gushing a little if I got to meet them though. Parking is tough here luckily I found something a few blocks away but most of the parking in Brooklyn is tough and that's why I don't drive there often but I'd prefer to drive over taking the damn trains. read more

Fabulous theatre! I had the pleasure of seeing "The London Suede" at this performance venue. Magnificent architecture and design with influences from the Palace of Versailles and Paris Opera House. They registered it as a historic building, so it is worth checking out. We sat in the upper back row, so it made it challenging to see the band. However, if you bring binoculars, you'll be able to see them up close. The acoustics were fine, but next time. I'll try to get tickets up close. read more

Saw Jack White here last night. The venue is beautiful and all of the staff was super helpful and friendly. I had tickets in the Pit which was pitched so you could see from pretty much any spot unless there are tall people right in front of you. Acoustics were really good. Transportation - I took an Uber from Atlantic Terminal and traffic was awful. I tried to get an Uber after the show in front of the theater but that was impossible - even though it kept saying that my ride was "x" minutes away. Don't try that - I waited 10 minutes as they kept assigning new drivers. Then I walked to the Beverley Road subway - it was fine. Ten minute walk. The neighborhood seemed totally safe especially with lots of concert goers walking to the subway. Next time I will definitely take the subway from Atlantic Terminal both ways. read more

Came here to see a comedy show and it wasn't the best decision. The long line wrapped around the corner for many blocks with no supervision. Meaning there were no employees to monitor the line and to avoid people from skipping. At one point some sort of altercation broke out and people began to run. Once things descalated, people rejoined the line out of order. It took hours to get inside the venue and of course the show already started. Yes the decor and size of the venue are decent, however, it's not so easy to distinguish between the sections. Therefore, you must rely on the staff to locate your seat. I won't be back here, even if Chris Brown or Beyonce performs (which we all know will not happen). read more

This is a beautiful theater. The sound is great, the seats are comfy, and you have a great view even at the real high up sections. We purchased a few cans of wine at $13 a piece which was fair enough for a concert venue. I'm removing 2 stars because of the bathroom situation. We had seats in section K, which meant to get to the bathroom we had to go all the way to the basement. The upstairs bathrooms are now part of a "speakeasy" package you need to upgrade to, I believe. read more

So, I went to see Super Freak- The Rick James Story, directed by Je'caryous Johnson, at Kings Theatre in Brooklyn. The show was amazing but what was even more spectacular was the atmosphere of this theatre. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, from the time we entered and got through the metal detectors, with help navigating how to get to our seats. Once we entered the theatre itself, it was absolutely beautiful. Several performances occur here and I'm looking forward to coming back again. read more

Fist the theater is absolutely stunning. The decor inside and out takes you back in time instantly. The ceiling in the main venue space is incredible. I was here to see a rock band "The Mars Volta". I have been to 25+ rock concerts, 6 being "The Mars Volta" at several different venues in NY and NJ. The experience from the line up on was nothing like I have ever seen at a rock show. The staff was incredible. Everything felt organized and calm. No running or rushing or pushing which is a regular occurrence at some venues around the City. The merch table had plenty of staff and went by in a blink of an eye. The line was clearly partitioned and super organized. There are several bars and none ever had a line. I actually ran out mid song to buy a water and was back in my seat before the song ended. The seats are super comfortable and the views are great. The standout however was a manager "Nico" who displayed the best customer service I've ever experinced. My best friend who accompanied me to the show is disabled and walks with a cane. When I bought the tickets I did not realize the venue has no elevators and my friend has tremendous difficulty with stairs. I emailed the venue the night before and they directed me to speak with staff upon arrival to obtain ADA seating. When I arrived me and my friend were directed to the "speak easy" line so she wouldn't have to walk the winding line- up. Nico came out and greeted us warmly and handed us tickets for more accessible seats after checking our ticket. He said to ask for Nico if anyone questioned the tickets. Me and my friend used the ladies room, purchased merch and a drink and headed to our seats. Not 5 minutes later, Nico arrived to ask if the seats are ok and if we needed anything else. This felt like a 5 star hotel, not a rock concert so far. Nico also offered us wristbands to assess the "pit" which was above and beyond. My friend went out during the show to use the ladies room, and there was Nico again to direct her to the ADA restrooms. Not only was he helpful, but also warm and kind in the process! Nico deserves a raise and promotion. Anyone who does customer services knows the job is a hard one, especially in settings that serve alcohol. This man displayed a kindness and love for his job that I have never seen. I have never experienced a "relaxing" rock concert but that is exactly what this was. I will FOR SURE visit Kings theater in the future. read more

This is purely a review of their customer service. On Thursday, May 12, I was the most excited Tori Amos fan in the world when I saw front row tickets pop up on Ticketmaster. I promptly bought them, grabbed my friend, and excitedly headed to the theatre. When I showed up to my seats, minutes prior to Tori coming on stage, I was told by an employee that a terrible mistake had happened - the seats that were sold to me were never supposed to be sold. They had been promised to what I later learned are Tori fans who follow her around on tour and have a general sense of entitlement about them. Essentially, Tori and her people rank some fans as more important than others. It was not a Kings Theatre problem. It was a Tori management problem. You would never have known that from how wonderfully staff handled it for me. Adonna - who later told me it was her first night working on staff, which impressed me all the more - took amazing care of us, and quickly. She initiated a refund for the seats we should never have purchased, comped us excellent seats on the side mezzanine with a great view, gave my friend and I two free drink tickets each with Speakeasy access (private bars they have) and signed us up to see a forthcoming performance by David Sedaris free of charge. All the while she was friendly, genuine and professional. So too was, I believe, the house manager (?) named Dan Harris - sorry if I'm getting your name wrong, Dan, but I'm sure I have your last name right. He signed us up for the Sedaris performance and made sure my refund for the would-be front row seats was initiated, explaining the process to me. I don't blame the Theatre at all. This was entirely a Tori problem. I felt shaken and diminished as a longtime fan. However, these professionals at the theater - and, by the way, every single person on staff I interacted with was warm and friendly, from the bartenders to the ushers to the merchandise salesmen - made what could have been a horrible night into a memory still worth cherishing. You can't ask for more than that. Adonna was particularly amazing - so patient, warm and empathetic. Thank you Kings Theatre! read more

My mom treated me to Chaka Khan and Leela James concert at the Kings Theater for my birthday and what a show it was! I never heard of the Kings Theater so I didn't know what to expect. Before entering, they require proof of ID and proof of vaccination. When we entered, it was surprising to see how huge it is. Also, It's absolutely beautiful! A Broadway looking theater in the middle of Flatbush--I love it! It was a great venue for the concert--I like that the seats weren't too steep. I've been to some theaters and the seating (on the upper/balcony level) can be really steep. Parking can be difficult, although we lucked out. I recommend the Kings Theater--I think you would love it. read more

Sometimes you walk into a place so majestic that just the visual of it all triggers the soundtrack of your life to play in your head. Cue a slow pan of you, awestruck, taking in the site of the turning point of your life. For me, even the memory of Kings Theater makes me recall the dreamy, shoegaze-y music of my favorite band, Beach House, which I've seen perform here. I call it music to fall in love to, tunes that seem too perfect for this world. With its ornately gilded fixtures shimmering across every surface of the space, Kings Theater also feels otherworldly. It pains me to think about this and the other beautiful Loew's Wonder Theaters sitting closed for years, slowly deteriorating from neglect and water damage. The renovation was a spectacular one, and I'd absolutely encourage anyone to see for themselves what a gorgeous place this is. I couldn't imagine not enjoying a performance here, if only just to behold the space. On one of my visits here, Ira Glass, who is the only human I'd ever get star struck for, was seated just two seats away, with no one between us. When I realized it was him I ran through all the things I wanted to say to him in my head, and just decided he didn't need yet another person to tell him about their favorite This American Life episode. I left him alone, and I kind of regret it to this day. For now I'll hold the memory of Ira, Beach House, and these hallowed halls in my heart. Kings Theater is a sacred space. read more

The theater itself is gorgeous and the acoustics seem to be pretty good as well. The attendees were polite and helpful. The King's Theatre is very nice and spacious (except when the concert is over...prepare to be squeezed in). The bathrooms were clean but a bit confusing to navigate. The sound quality was good. The seats aren't very comfy but we didn't use them for most of the time during the show. The security is great and got the crazy people off of their chairs. Food and beverage were average prices. The parking is good and plenty but it's a pain to get to the theater so give yourself extra time. Overall, it was a great show and I would come here again. read more

I will start off by saying Kings Theatre is simply beautiful. Every time I see a show here (no matter where I sit) I'm always amazed by the art and design of this theatre. Located in Flatbush Brooklyn it's not the easiest theater to get to if you are not driving but it's manageable. If you are taking the subway to get here it's about a 15 minute walk from the Q train or a quick bus ride to the theatre. Either way it's worth seeing a show here. I've been here twice, the first time to see Yeah Yeah Yeahs perform and the last time to see SWV and Toni Braxton. Both shows I sat in different sections and both times I was able to clearly see the stage. The sound here is great as well. The prices for wine and cocktails are "reasonable". I say that because most theaters charge anywhere from $13-16 for wine and here a glass was about $9. I also appreciate it being a theatre where a lot of black artists perform. I had the best time at the Toni show and I plan on seeing another show at this theatre in a few months. read more

Attended the Wild Kard Tour Concert on August 12, 2022. Doesn't look like a whole lot from the outside except maybe the façade, but really nice theater on the inside. Didn't see any biergarten on the outside and as other reviewers mentioned seemed more like a Broadway show venue with the more intimate seating and regal decor. Take time to admire the ceiling. There are definitely some photo ops on the grand staircase as well. Would've loved to spend more time here just to look around. Parking did seem like a hassle so public transportation might be the way to go. read more

Wow wow wow!!! This place is sooo beautiful! I felt like I was watching a show on Broadway. I was just here for Tori Kelly last night and it was beautiful!!!! I would definitely go back for another concert or even a Broadway play! The only thing was people stood and I had to stand just to see. While standing it was squished because it's meant to be sitting. The check in was fast. The line was around the block when we arrived but we were in in less than 5 minutes. Very well organized. Like most places no outside food or drink. The drinks are average pricing. I paid $7 for a large Voss. I wish they had a cheaper option for water. Overall, this is a must visit theater for any show or concert. read more

If there is a more beautiful theater in NYC then I have yet to find it. I mean, seriously, you could buy a ticket just to step inside to marvel at the recent renovation job allowing Kings to reopen in early 2015 after laying dormant for years. Not only is the theater magnificent, but so are the people that work here. Every single one was exceedingly friendly and outgoing. All the staff was making cheerful banter with the guests of the theater as most of us walked around slack jawed unbelieving this incredible, world class theater is not located on the isle of Manhattan! Special shout out to the electricians at Local Union #3 IBEW - all the lighting, the sound equipment and basically anything with electricity running through it appears to be installed perfectly. What a great venue! This was my first time at the theater, my mother used to live around the corner, prior to the re-opening of the iconic theatre, in Flatbush. I was here to see the Desus & Mero show, on a very rainy Sunday. Upon arrival, I noticed the venue was extremely crowded and he line wrapped around the corner. However, security did an excellent job moving the line quickly-- asking the concert goers to be prepared so the line could move and get everyone out of the rain. I had both tickets and my friend was running late, as you're not allowed to leave the venue and re-enter, but the guards were very helpful and patient, in creating a medium so I could ultimately get my friend the ticket. The theatre itself was wonderful and they did an excellent job with getting this place back into shape, a few years back. In short, the staff was friendly, the seats are comfortable, which is a big plus, as I'm tall. The sole negative was how slow the concession stands moved. On two occasions, I attempted to get some drinks and a snack, but the line loved extremely slow. Other than that, this place and the show last night were perfect. read more

Beautiful theatre (it better be for the $95MM it cost), but their Ambassadors Club is a weird concept. You just get early access to a windowless carpeted room with it's own bathroom (that opens up to the public once the show starts), and a server that takes longer than going to the dedicated bars. They were also using new handheld POS terminals that were pretty finicky. Finding out the beer selection or looking at the prices of liquors takes way too many clicks. How about just going back to physical menus? Anyway, the show was great. We were on the lefthand side of the balcony, which wasn't the greatest for visibility (this was for the Bon Iver show, where they were projecting words and images on the back of the stage. Most of it was cut off from where I was sitting (about halfway into the row). I think they need to reconfigure their Ambassadors Club to have actual perks (especially for the premium you pay on the tickets), but other than that, it's a fine music venue. Just be prepared to wait forever and to have surge pricing when you leave and try to hail an Uber or Lyft. read more

The first word that comes to mind when thinking back to my experience at Kings is majestic. This is one of the most 'majestic' and breathtaking music venues that I have had the privilege of visiting. This theater is nearly 100 years old and it is so great that they have made restorations to bring it back to life as a concert venue. And a pretty epic concert venue at that. It seems as if Kings has exclusively been booking big names and sell out acts. Don't forget to look up! The high ceilings have beautiful artwork and there are gorgeous hanging chandeliers everywhere. The attention to details inside the theater is fantastic. Make sure to look in every direction so you don't miss out on the moldings and statues that decorate the walls. The theater has a wide and expansive layout which makes it hard to find a bad seat in the house. There is a small pit section but about 99% of the venue is seated. Stellar lighting, acoustics and reasonably priced drinks all made for a very memorable concert experience. If you are visiting during the warmer months they also have an outdoor biergarten next to the venue. Once inside the venue you can make your way in and out of the bar without having to go through security. Just be warned that you can't transport a beer can from the outdoor bar back in. Don't sleep on a visit to Kings Theatre. Even if you haven't heard of the bands on the calendar it's still worth checking out for an worthwhile live music experience. read more
