What a great find Kings is, this little shop off the beaten path was miracle find. As with most leather and semi leather products here in Hawaii the materials just fall a part. Thankfully kings took one look and knew what to do. The funny thing was he had a group of the same stools sitting there with the same problem. We picked out the materials and color and left feeling great about the prospect of reupholstered bliss. As you can see from the pics the quality is pretty much better than new. We couldn't be happier and our expensive stools were saved. If you have a car seat, couch, or anything that you love and want to save drop by or call and you won't be disappointed. We searched for someone to reupholster our koa dining chairs and found this business had great reviews. They aren't on Puuhale Rd, and have relocated to Moowaa St. The owner is super friendly and funny. He makes you feel like you've been friends forever. We took the material and old chair pads to him and he said they'd be done in 2 weeks. He was done in several days! We had a specific pattern so he had to line up the material carefully . We had the best experience with the proprietor and his crew. He's easy to work with and has the customers interest in mind. We have a couch with a detachable chaise lounge and I wanted to convert the chaise lounge section into a regular cushion and separate ottoman. When I called, I spoke to the owner and said he could it and quoted me a price. A few weeks went by before we took the chaise cushion and it's base to King's. These guys have no clue when it comes to leather repair. Brought them a seat back from a BMW 325i that had torn the thread at the seam where the sun had shrunk the leather. The leather was still fine. All it needed was to be massaged with leather oil and restitched. But, our meeting went like this. I pulled up to the shop. The only available parking was in front of the garage door. The person I spoke with was standing in the doorway, so I asked if it was ok to park there. He replied, "That's fine", and turned to walk away. I then asked if he was who I needed to talk to about a repair. He then stopped, turned back around, looked me up and down from head to toe, stumbled over what he wanted to say, then replied, "Yes, what do you have?" So, I unloaded the seat back from my van, and showed him. He took one look, touched the dried part, and said, "This cannot be fixed. Is there anything else I can help you with?" I then asked, "Not even if you were to oil the leather?" To which he replied, "No." I wanted to correct him at this point. It took everything I had not to. But, it was clear he didn't want the job, and he didn't have the skills to do the job properly anyway. So, I left. Long story short, took the piece back home, bought some leather rejuvenating oil, followed the directions, took it to Aloha Upholstery, and they had me fixed up in about an hour and a half. Never mind the fact that I got a super weird vibe from the guy when he looked me up and down from head to toe after walking away from a potential new customer without greeting them. Bravo! Bravo! I bought a used 2013 Tahoe last year, and the driver's seat was pretty sunken in. The leather was getting stretched out and the foam underneath seemed compressed out of shape. Mr. Lee took one look at it, diagnosed the problem, explained exactly what the problem was, and told me when I could drop it off for repair. I dropped of my car a few days later at 7:30 in the morning, and by 10:30 he was calling me back to tell me he had finished the repairs. Job was completed in just a couple of days; well-ahead of his estimated time. We also brought in some cushions to be re-stuffed. First thing first. Dont use the yelp map to get directions to his shop. It led me to the wrong place. His shop is easy to find though. When on Nimitz heading east bound, turn right at the McDonalds after the Sand Island Access road. His shop is right after the recycling place on the left. He explained everything from the different colors, textures, and how its going to look in my car. It took me a while to find this place, but it was well worth it! I had spent quite a bit of time looking for a place where I could get the headliner of my Jetta replaced, but was stuggling because I kept hearing about the poor quality that people received and the outrageous costs. After hearing a few good things about King's, I brought my car in and was not disappointed! Out of all the places I looked at, King's was the least expensive. The quality of work received was outstanding and the interior of my car now looks better than it ever has before. As an unexpected but very pleasant surprise, King's repaired my sunroof (actually took out the broken parts and replaced them) before reupholstering it. This was a complex task that would have cost a fortune if I had the dealership do it. The total price for a completely reupholdered headliner and sunroof, sunroof repairs, and all the parts? $370. Absolutely the best deal around considering other places would have charged well over $600. All of the work was completed in less than a day - I dropped it off in the morning and picked it up that same afternoon. I will strongly recommend King's Upholstery to anyone looking to get their car interior fixed up, and will definitely be going back should I need their services again. read more

The headliner in my Mazda 6 has been falling for a while now. Just as a heads up, if you don't know any better (like I didn't) and this happens to you, GET THIS FIXED ASAP! The chemicals from the foam/adhesive are harmful to your health. Anyway, I don't typically like going to places like this, because the staff at these types of places are unfriendly (am I stereotyping?) and make me feel like I'm in the wrong place. But when I pulled up to King's Upholstery, the owner (I'm assuming) waved at me and made me feel very welcome. After parking, he walked over to my car and said, "Typical Mazda." I wasn't sure what to make of his comment - it seemed like he was mad or something, so I giggled nervously. Then he educated me about parts from Japan versus America versus Mexico, LOL! He was seriously, HILARIOUS. He was very talkative and made my boyfriend and I crack up. I left my car there all day (on a Saturday) and he called me right around closing time to let me know that my car was finished! I paid $261 to get it fixed and it was so worth it. The headliner wasn't the same exact color that it once was, but it's close enough to the point that no one will notice otherwise.
