My experience ended up being 4 stars because I paid $704 for diagnostics and a transmission fluid service, only to be told that the transmission issues would likely continue over time. The recommendation given was that replacing the vehicle might be a better option if we didn't want to continue investing money into the truck. Afterward, I reached back out to ask for a quote on either rebuilding or replacing the transmission so I could better understand my options. Unfortunately, I've waited quite a while without receiving a response. At this point, even after spending the money on the diagnostics and service, the truck is still undrivable and sitting in a parking lot while I continue paying for a rental car. I completely understand that transmission work can be complicated, and I am grateful they were able to inspect my truck since I don't know much about transmissions myself. When I first brought the truck in, I also mentioned an issue with my taillight. I was initially told it would be added to the diagnostics at the end, but it was never looked at. I was later informed that I would need to pay an additional $185 just to diagnose the taillight issue. At that point, I decided to simply pick up the truck. The communication was excellent from start to finish while the vehicle was actively being worked on, but as a returning customer, I do feel disappointed that I haven't received any follow-up regarding the transmission quote. They were upfront about their diagnostic fee of $185 plus tax. I needed a new alternator, belt, and battery for my 2006 RAV4. I asked for a rough estimate so I could compare it to a few other shops, and they told me $400-$600 for parts and labor. After reading other positive reviews, I decided to have my car towed from Kaneohe to this shop. The drop-off went smoothly, and I received a call shortly after with two quotes. The first quote was $2,075 to replace the alternator, belt, and battery, and the second was $3,200 to also fix an oil leak in the engine. This is an older vehicle, and the quote was 4-5 times higher than what was originally estimated. I decided to pay the $185 diagnostic fee and take my car to a different shop. After calling around to a few smaller shops, they told me this specific car requires more labor because the radiator has to be removed. However, they said it should cost between $1,000-$1,300 at most. I ended up going to a local shop, and they completed the repairs for $1,150. They also checked for an oil leak and found nothing. This shop not only bait-and-switched me on pricing but also tried to get me to pay an extra $1,200 for a repair I didn't need. I would give 0 stars if I could and will be telling family and friends to avoid this shop, as they are not honest. UPDATE: 04/16/26 I uploaded a picture of the Yelp message coming directly from your company, so you can't call me a liar. 'If you can't produce this, what you're saying isn't just false, it's libel.' That is a direct quote from you. I also wasn't looking for the cheapest repair, I was looking for a fair quote. After visiting your shop I called three different shops and you quoted roughly twice the amount that they did. So I went with a shop that priced right in the middle and had good reviews. It's also interesting that you didn't mention your $1,200 quote for an oil leak that didn't exist. Your pricing is your pricing I just wish you were upfront about it or provided me with a more realistic quote. The shop I went to used all brand-new parts but sold them at cost rather than upcharging their customers. That business has been around for over 30 years, so it's surprising that you would resort to insulting their credibility rather than owning up to your mistake and making things right. Thank you for further proving my point about why people should avoid your shop. Maybe this isn't the experience for everyone, but as a first impression, it guaranteed that I won't be returning. Greg reached out to me explaining that based on the video I sent, it appeared that the ceramic coating was working, but not how it should be. He asked if I could bring the vehicle in so that his team could wash it, and verify this in person. We agreed that I would drop my vehicle off on Friday. This will allow for a pickup on Saturday. Upon drop off, his guys, Zane and Kato accepted the vehicle and tested the ceramic. Right away, Zane said that it wasn't reacting correctly. I left my keys with them and was told that the vehicle would be ready for pickup the following day and I would be notified by call or text. Saturday -- Premiere is open until 6pm. Once 5pm came around I was admittedly starting to get a little bit nervous seeing as how I needed my car for work on Monday, and I knew they were closed on Sunday. I attempted to call and received no response. Living closeby, I just decided to head over. I got there about 540pm. Greg was there detailing the interior of a car. He had plenty of vehicles to take care of. He was friendly and apologized for the lack of communication, citing that he was swamped with the influx of vehicles. He explained that my car was "done" but that he, himself, had taken issue with it. When we approached my car, it was clear that work had been done. But upon closer inspection, there were water spots on my glass and streak marks on areas, exacerbated by the light from his cell phone flashlight. He was able to quickly wipe some of them off. He again apologized and said that he didn't like the work that was done and asked if he could keep my vehicle until Tuesday so that it could be completely redone. This I respect. Alot. For a boss to take ownership of their work and the work of their employees goes a long way. I left it -- picked it up on Tuesday. The car looks fantastic. Here's to waiting it out and see if the ceramic holds this time around. Very glad that I chose the boys at Premiere. They did an amazing job on my camaro, that I felt it only right to use them for our SUV. My last interactions with Greg (the owner) and his team were nothing short of amazing. He is a personably guy. I reached out to them asking for an interior and exterior detail on my 2023 Mazda CX50. After some back and forth on the services, I ended up changing my service to a "basic" ceramic coating (which includes an exterior detail to prep it) and full interior detail. The price was amazing. Greg takes care of his customers. I wont mention it here as pricing can always change. As a reminder to anyone reading this -- its always a nice gesture to tip them, though, not required. Greg was able to take my car pretty quickly. I made the appointment for a drop off on Saturday. For those of you that don't know, ceramic coatings require a curing time, and therefore, I needed to leave my vehicle overnight. The garage is secure and under surveillance. It is easily accessible in the downtown area. I came back the next morning to pickup my car. It looked stellar! The lighting really makes the cars pop too. The exterior looked brand new (minus water spots that apparently weren't able to be removed from the 3m decals). The interior also looked great. I had some minor pet fur still embedded, but nothing to harp about. I noticed that the trunk space wasn't addressed though. No biggie. Now the reason for my decrease in rating: I want to start off by reiterating that Greg and his team are excellent dudes to work with. They are friendly, fast, and do good work. My Mazda, this time around, just isn't what I expected from them. I haven't been able to get back for the car wash because the weather has been awful -- so its been a little bit of time since the coating. There are some spots where the ceramic is noticeable. Particularly under the side mirrors, you can see the coating is still there and streaked on. The new formula that they used on this "basic" coating, definitely shows a difference. Maybe this coating only included one pass over, i'm not sure, but the beading effect just isn't there. Dirt and grime still clings to the car and it doesn't wash off with water. The roof doesnt appear to have been coated, but I could be wrong. The wheels were not coated. I am unsure if the glass was coated. The trim appears to have been coated but not wiped off properly. Anyway, do I recommend them? Absolutely. I still think they do good work at a great price. However, I would strongly encourage you to ask about their options for ceramic coating and not get a lesser package. Mahalo Premiere
