We're definitely creatures of habit. Our latest visit was second to none. We were lucky enough to score seats at the bar for our party of seven. Taylor, our bartender, was fabulous. She was incredibly personable. She made so many great suggestions and recommendations, both for food/drink at the Atlantic Hotel in addition to other potential activities for us in the area once she learned we were here on vacation. The drinks she made were also on point. My Bloody Mary was one of the best I've had. The Orange Crushes were a hit between my mom and aunts who are always on the hunt for great Crushes. Oranges were juiced fresh for Crushes for each individual order which is great to see (not every place we've been does this). My wife loved her Mojito, and my cousins' drinks (Prickly Pear Margarita & Pear Martini) tasted every bit as good as they looked. I also thought it was very considerate of the bartender to serve the extra Pear Martini in a carafe that was resting in an ice filled glass to keep it chilled without watering it down. We also ordered food: Salmon BLT, Crabby Chicken Pretzel Club, Crab Cake Sandwich, Sriracha Dusted Wings, Crab Dip, Eggplant Tower. There were no complaints about the food, in fact, everyone pretty much loved what they ordered. The menu is unique and original containing some items you won't find on your typical menu. Each vacation isn't complete without a trip to Berlin which includes drinks and, at the very least, appetizers at the Atlantic Hotel. This visit did not disappoint and reinforced all of the reasons why it's part of our vacation plans; good food, expertly crafted cocktails, fantastic service, and historic charm. Where before a breakfast was included each morning of your stay, you now are offered 15% off you breakfast, but more on that later. The dining area is a fraction its former charm, but still charming. The dinner menu is pretty good and both of our dinners each night of our stay there were excellent. For this reason I have given two stars. It would be impossible to say the same about breakfast. In one location, an 8AM breakfast opening was listed. Our Welcome Letter stated 830AM was the opening time. Neither time mattered, because on both mornings the Breakfast service wasn't even open. The entry to it was locked up like an after hours NYC Subway entrance. Saturday morning no human being could be found. We even went back at 10AM to see if it had opened yet, with no change. Sunday morning it was locked up, but there a woman behind the bar to give our key to as we checked out. On both mornings we had breakfast elsewhere. We stay at the hotel for special occasions, and this stay was no exception. Staying at the Charlotte Hotel and not having to leave it was always something we appreciated and looked forward to during the previous dozen or so times we had stayed there before. You could hear even minimal talking from that great room (and it doesn't have a door). That is my only complaint about this Inn. The provided breakfast daily was wonderful. The first day we had quiche and the second we had chocolate chip pancakes. All made fresh when you sit down and included sides, coffee, fruit, and yogurt. Really delicious and good quality and the staff were so nice. My husband is diabetic and they easily modified the options to meet his lower carb/sugar request. They also have daily evening tea with a sweet treat which is fun and coffee, tea, and lemon water are available all day and night. Our room was beautiful and looked exactly like the photos and the inn is so charming. Perfect landscaping, all common areas are so cute, and the location is to die for right on the beach, with access to the sand just steps from the lovely wrap-around porch. We were unlucky and it was basically a freezing Nor'easter the weekend we came, so we didn't get to enjoy the beach, the bikes, or any of the out door amenities - but we still found it charming and enjoyed both the Inn and the town. Hopefully, we can come back again in the fall and enjoy milder weather.

Although not on Chincoteague it is a short drive to the island which was beautiful every morning. The grounds of the inn are well maintained and beautifully cared for with paths between each building. The owner showed us where breakfast would be and even brought breakfast to our room one day. Breakfast was also wonderful every morning with juice, fruit, a sweet, and a main dish which was either sweet or savory depending on the day. Our breakfasts including a peach croissant casserole, and a hatch chili egg bake just to name a few. We regularly saw the owners around the grounds and they were always very friendly. We did not get to enjoy the pool but it looked lovely and well maintained. I have only two minor complaints which are more personal preference that actually complain. The room had four windows the were high on the wall which were not covered which woke my partner every morning. These should probably be either covered or the bed placement changed. The button for the big tub in the bathroom was very hard to push on and off. These are really minor things and do not distract from the overall wonderful experience we had. Of note there a ton on Mosquito's on the eastern shore and the islands. Make sure if you are traveling this way you bring bug spray. One last quick note, we got the soaps and lotion add one. The soaps and lotions were wonderful both made and to use. I would recommend this B and B to anyone who wants to enjoy Chincoteague and the eastern shore.

OJ was in a jug. There was a waffle maker, some cereal, bagels and muffins to choose from. The butter was the squeezable kind (yikes) and we all shared the cream cheese out of the tub. The bagel/ toaster barely toasted anything. Check out is at 11. We were granted late check out at 1130. The receptionist came around at 11:15 asking if we were leaving.. smh. Of course, we were running late than 11 so we asked for the late check out. That was pretty annoying. Cleaning kitchen supplies were right behind the counter for the breakfast food, smh. The pool is out front of the lobby and looks a hot mess right now. Its January but the pool has black looking filled water in it and the chairs seem to be all thrown about. There was a McDonalds, Burger King, Food Lion, Gas Station nearby. I would rather stay in Salisbury next time for an upgraded hotel/motel stay for the night.
