I was able to get a same day appointment at the Kingstowne cat clinic today, which was great! Everyone in the office was very friendly and welcoming! The doctor did a comprehensive exam and listened to my kitten's heart, checked her teeth and eyes, and felt her stomach. She was able to get the prescribed medicine she needed as well. The technicians were able to cut my kitten's claws very easily, when no one else is normally able to. I will come back again when needed! read more

Don't come here if you're not an absolutely perfect pet parent. I left enraged and literally in tears because Suzanne Trosclair is a mean-spirited, condescending, and unforgiving vet. She judged me the second she saw me in the waiting room and brought that negativity into every moment of our appointment. The vet techs, manager, and receptionists are really quite sweet though. I also suspect that the veterinarian/owner at the practice is friendlier based on my limited interaction with her through other people that worked there. There's a very very common misconception that Black people don't care about our pets. We do. I love my boy beyond belief and I made a mistake. I let things slide off my plate. But I called as soon as I had a suspicion of something being wrong. I just feel like the vet bill is punishment enough, I don't need Ms. Trosclair to demean me. I noticed a change in his litter box behavior and I immediately went to Nextdoor to find a vet that had more of a community connection instead of just going to a Banfield. I found the Kingstone Cat Clinic on there and people seemed passionate about it. I immediately made an appointment for the first possible because I was worried sick. I knew that I was going into this vet and I was going to get chastised for not bringing him in initially. But I was not prepared for the genuinely mean-spirited way that Suzanne Trosclair talked to me. From the beginning of the appointment, she was condescending. And she was late. I was willing to address anything that came up. She told me that his mouth was severely decayed and he needs teeth pulled. I said that we would do the procedure and I legitimately didn't know what else she wanted me to say. But she never seemed satisfied with anything I was offering to do to make it right. I left in tears. I paid $300 for a couple of vaccines, a urine test, and to be verbally abused by a woman. Please, please, please do not come here. I went straight to the Animal Care Hospital after and they were so apologetic when I told them what happened at the Kingstone Cat Clinic. I'm so disappointed in this clinic. I had such high hopes of finding a smaller vet office and potentially finding somewhere that I can go to for the next 20 years like all of the other posters on this website. But I can't say I'll ever return here. I've never been spoken to this way at Banfield and that is just so sad. She decided to judge me the moment she saw me in that waiting room. Don't come here. I don't want someone to be disheartened the way that I was. They tried to rectify the issue by offering me a free visit and an email apology. When I told them I wanted an apology in person and they declined so unfortunately, I guess it is what it is. read more

I really love this clinic - I've been taking Tigger and Merlin Cat (RIP 2022) since they both decided to take.me on as their owner back in 2016. The vets and the staff are lovely and kind and knowledgeable. My older cat, Tigger, has been suffering with severe arthritis this winter, and it's been terrible watching him limp around and not be able to jump up on the bed or couch whenever he wants to. Dr. Mosoriak recommended a two prong approach: a temporary pain killer/anti inflammatory to help him heal (it's too rough on older cats' kidneys, this temporary use only), and acupuncture with Dr. Hanson. I didn't think acupuncture would work but wow. I am a believer. Though the effects don't last long, it has a long term/cumulative benefit for Tigger's old joints. Drm Mosoriak has been a rock - I've been a ball of anxiety over Tigger, since we had just lost our other cat in a sudden and traumatic way. But Dr. Mosoriak gave me a bit of a reality check, and eased my anxiety so that I'm not at the vet every week to make sure Tigger is ok. He's just getting old, and I need to let his meds and treatment do the work over time. In short, they have options, theyre trustworthy, and are infinitely patient with anxious cat owners like me. read more

Dr. Mosoriak was wonderful when I took on the care of a young cat with stomatitis, who needed surgery to have her teeth removed. She followed up with me over the weekend to make sure my cat was doing well, even though she was on vacation! That is a level of concern that I really appreciate; I was pretty worried because this cat had been undiagnosed and miserable for awhile, wasn't eating well, probably a little underweight. I take all of my cats to her and really appreciate her concern, but also practical nature. read more

I tried a number of cat only veterinary clinics in NVa before I finally found Kingstowne Cat Clinic in 2020. I am so sorry it took me so long. Dr. Mosoriak has always been wonderful particularly when dealing with my more than a little vetophobic cat Calvin. And her kindness and support when we lost him last August made an unspeakably painful experience a tiny bit easier to bear. I've only had the privilege of interacting with Dr. Trosclair recently but she is equally fabulous. Haven't met a vet tech or front desk person who hasn't been kind and helpful often going the extra mile if needed. I wouldn't think of taking my cats elsewhere (unless it was an after hours emergency and necessary). read more

I have been a client here for 22 years, with many cats during that time. We have never had anything but positive experiences with quality of care. I have noticed some difficulty in getting last-minute appointments, which can be frustrating. However, when this occurred recently, Dr Mosoriak heard my concern and resolved the matter favorably. This was a front-office training issue, which she takes very seriously as the owner. There is also excellent continuity of care. We recently lost one of our elder cats. They were able to connect me with Dr Deborah Boos, who previously co-owned KCC and now has an end-of-life service for cats. I am so impressed with the expertise the vets, techs, and reception team show. I've tried other vets in the area and bringing my kitties to Kingstowne has been by far the best experience. They are so patient, helpful, and genuinely care about the cats and people. This clinic is a rare find with a good energy. The receptionists are very empathetic and professional. We dealt primarily with Dr. Chang because she is knowledgeable in Chinese medicine for our 13-year-old ocicat who had an obstructed colon. We were taken in, as a new patient, within two days, and had a verification visit the following day on the spur of the moment because things were not going as they should have. We cannot thank enough Dr. Chang and the staff for welcoming us and make us feel at home among professional who focus on cats. read more

I have nothing but good things to say about Kingstowne Cat Clinic. I've lived in this area for more than 30 years, and had been using a different area vet up until about 2011. (That vet was bought by a corporation and my last experience there was absolutely abysmal. As such, I was looking for a good alternative.) I spent a great deal of the past decade serving overseas with the USG. When I would come home for long periods of time, I was happy to bring my cats to Kingstowne for their check-ups/rabies vaccinations, often with very little notice. The three events that have hooked me as a client forever were: 1. Handling cats. The other clinic doesn't allow owners to be with the cats during procedures. After mishandling one of my cats, they ended up asking me to come in to coax her down from the top of a cabinet. She was so traumatized, they required her to be sedated for all further appointments. Kingstowne always allows me to be with my pets during checkups and procedures, and *never* asks her to be sedated. They are so gentle, she trusts them. 2. Health certificates. Going back and forth between foreign assignments, my cats needed special health certificates. Kingstowne knew exactly how to handle the paperwork so that I could get the certificates through APHIS, as required by many foreign governments to import pets. 3. In-home euthanasia. My elderly cat was in failing health. Kingstowne vets provided stellar specialized care, allowing her to live several more useful and happy years. When the time came to euthanize her, Kingstowne actually offered in-home euthanasia. I knew that I did not want to make her uncomfortable and scared by taking her to the clinic for her last moments, so they came to me. A vet and a nurse were gentle and talked me through the entire, heartbreaking experience. A week later, I received a condolence card from the clinic, which really underscored how much they understood my loss. I believe that any cat owner can appreciate the special needs that cats have when it comes to healthcare. Kingstowne Cat Clinic is exclusively for cats, and the staff are clearly dedicated to providing high-quality, loving care. I wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

Finding the perfect place for your beloved pets is tough - that's why I couldn't be happier that I found Kingstown Cat Clinic. Ginger (our cat) has been a guest here since we adopted her. Every year they do a great job with her annual tests, and I bring her in monthly for a claw trim. I know, I could trim the claws myself, but Ginger doesn't like it, so I 'outsource' it to Kingstowne. Trust me, they are way better at it that I would be. They do a wonderful job all around, and even know Ginger by name! Seriously, when I call for an appointment, you can hear the excitement in their voice when I tell them that Ginger is coming in. They love my cat! That is one of the main reasons that anytime I need to go out of town for a fews days I leave Ginger with Kingstowne Cat Clinic for boarding. The crew at Kingstowne really do know and love cats, and that is why they will be the only place I take Ginger for as long was we live in Northern VA. read more

I really enjoy this place. I've been twice so far. Of course, one of my favorite aspects is the obvious- that it's a place just for cats. That means when I bring my cat in here, there isn't a chance of a bigass dog exiting the door as we're entering, or a noisy dog barking and making a lot of noise in the waiting room. (I'm not against dogs- I have a big dog- but my cat is elderly with a heart murmur, so, the less stress on her, the better.) I also like the vets I've seen- they always take the time to answer all of my questions, and they let me know what's going on with my kitty's health without making unnecessary or invasive suggestions. They let me know what my options are, but they've also been realistic about what would be helpful and what probably won't make any difference. read more

I have been taking my cat here for over 10 year. The receptionists are always nice and friendly. They seem to know my cat and are great about getting us in pretty quickly. We see Dr. Boos and she is wonderful. She listens and tries to get to the heart of the matter. She continues to have us back for follow ups as we try to figure out the correct dosage for my cat's issues. And the follow-ups are very reasonably priced. I fear I am nearing the big decision with my cat as her health is steadily declining. At 16, this can be expected and Dr. Boos will be the only one I would trust to help me during this time. I'm a newbie to owning cats and our lil one's nails had grown too long. When we noticed, we made an appointment to have them clipped. Then the pandemic hit so we rescheduled. When we finally made it to the clinic they were so kind, professional and careful with their covid protocols. All we had to do was drop her off and wait. I wish we had gotten there sooner. With heavy hearts, we unexpectedly had to make the decision to put our beloved cat down last week, and the entire staff was nothing short of wonderful, supportive, and sympathetic during this time. I've been bringing my cats here since 1993 and they are terrific! All the vets and staff are very caring. Through the years I've had to have several of my babies put to sleep and the vets are so understanding and do their best to soften the blow. I can't say enough about them. Through the years my cats have been seen by each of the vets, but Dr. Boos and Dr. Gulledge have seen them from the beginning. I love love love the Kingstowne Cat Clinic! I actually feel like my cat gets better medical care than I do! Dr. Masoriak is wonderful. She takes the time to listen to what you have to say and everyone here seems to really care about the cats that come in. My 8 month old cat has been three times so far. Once for her initial visit at 5 months for vaccinations and tests, once for spaying at 6 months and once this week because the hubby accidently stepped on her paw and we thought it might be broken. We were able to get an appointment the same day we called and Dr. Masoriak took the time to listen to us describe what happened and what symptoms our cat has been showing. One thing that stands out here as compared to reviews of other vets is that I don't feel like they are offering tests just to milk money out of me. After examining our cat the doctor said that she didn't think it was broken or even fractured, just badly bruised. She offered us X-Rays, told us how much it would cost and said that it was up to us and that it would just be for our own piece of mind but she really didn't think it would show anything and that if it were her cat she wouldn't get them. I really trust the doctors and staff here and am glad to have a place like this nearby! read more

Avoid them. Negligent, arrogant, a hazard to your pets' health. I took my beloved senior cat for help. He was not doing well and is hyperthyroid, per their diagnosis. Dr. Boos arrogantly dismissed him as "just old" and inferred he was not worth the bother. I insisted on an xray, a few days later after the first exam, which revealed he was impacted. He suffered unecessarily due to her negligence. I spend over $500 between two visits in one week and got nothing but abuse and suffering for my dear animal. Then Dr. Boos insulted and criticized me in an obnoxious, harassing phone message and blew off my dear beloved cat because he is old. She also gave me two conflicting diagnoses for his blood count--and told me I should come back for another test. They are all about making money--count on at minimum $200 per visit, and they will mistreat your cat and abuse your privacy and intelligence. read more

I have a high maintenance cat, and the doctors at Kinstowne have been very helpful, friendly, and informative as we tried to navigate the combination of diabetes and hyperthyroid he was dealing with. Sadly, he got very sick last week. Kingstowne worked me into the schedule the day I called, and I think the tech who answered the phone could hear the fear in my voice. She gave me a few options about when to bring him in, and we worked out the best option for us. Dr. Boos had never seen my kitty, but was so caring and listened closely as I explained the symptoms and what was going on. She x-rayed him and suggested that I take him for an ultrasound pretty quickly. Dr. Boos helped arrange for another facility to see him, sent over records, and gave me some very realistic information about what was coming. Sadly, I had to put my guy to sleep that night, as he was much sicker than even I thought. Dr. Boos called me while she was off over the weekend and left me the sweetest message, giving her condolences and offering to talk to me, if I needed. Even though she only spent a short time with my cat, she made me feel like he was the most important patient she saw all day, and I really appreciate what she did for my cat and I. Kingstowne is not the closest vet to where I live, but they came recommended by a friend, and now I can recommend them as well. I will continue to use them for my other kitty. read more

I can't say enough positive about Kingstowne Cat Clinic. We started using this vet after we were highly unsatisfied by another vet office in the area. A friend recommended Kingstowne Cat Clinic. Dr. Boos is amazing. She listens. She doesn't try to guilt you into high dollar treatments. She spends so much time explaining test results and possible options. We've had two serious issues with two of our kitties this past year. Both times, she's spent an inordinate amount of her time explaining the situations in layperson terms. She also offered to email the xrays to my sister-in-law who's a vet in KY just to get a second opinion. We wouldn't trust our kitties to anyone else. I recommend her to anyone and everyone who asks. We feel fortunate to have found such an amazing vet. read more

I had hoped to have better experiences at this cat-only vet clinic. I paid a fee to have records copied but the vet didn't bother to look at them. Both times we went a few minutes early for Saturday morning appointments, but as the waiting room filled up with miserable cats and stressed my pet out and they were still accepting walk-ins. The last time I went the wait was 40 minutes and the cat was unhappy and uncontainable by the time the vet saw him, so the tech weighed him in his carrier and broke the door hinge somehow. Unfortunately their prices and practices seem pretty average for the area, so I started going a little further to NOVA cat clinic where at least they aren't overbooked. read more
