I went to pick up meds 4-5 hrs after the script called in. Told it was not ready. Person at counter told them to expediate since I was there. Told wait will be 25 mins. 2 others arrived after me & within 20 mins picked up their meds. Pharmacist did not seem focused on filling script but she was talking with others, helping someone with delivery of copy paper, etc. After 45+ mins, meds ready, 2 of 3 scripts only had 8-12 pills, not enough to get me thru Tuesday when more pills available. At noon went to another pharmacy have scripts transferred from Kinney. After 5 hours Kinney called requesting me to complete sale before they would transfer script. Consequently, it was too late for the script to be transferred & filled by the other pharmacy that day. This was the second bad experience with not enough pills and poor service. On a positive note, the other pharmacist was working hard and "staying on task". He filled multiple scripts without interruptions. read more

I know they're busy, because all the pharmacy business from a flooded nearby town, moved over to them. I acknowledge how hard the employees are working. But Kinney as a corporation should be ashamed of themselves for not adjusting to the business overflow, and putting strain on their employees. It's gotten worse over the last two weeks, probably because employees have resigned in exhaustion. PAY THEM MORE! My main complaint is the phone. I've spent over an hour the last two days on hold, being sent back to the front of the store, and then back to the pharmacy. If employees are going to be instructed to ignore the phone, then this should be indicated in the phone maze. It's simple -- "The pharmacy is currently not taking phone calls due to increased customer volume." Done. People not happy. But not wasting time waiting for someone to pick up. And Kinney corporation? SHAME! read more

I am incredibly livid with your pharmacy right now. I have had horrible experiences with Kinney Drugs, and began using the Shaws Osco Pharmacy in Williston about 15 years ago. I have been very happy with them. I take care of an adult with a significant intellectual disability. He had been using Kinney Drugs, and the Berlin branch is near my office. For the past three years I have had extremely poor service with his medications through Kinney Drugs. Prescriptions are not renewed, I have to initiate refills, and they are seldom ready when they are promised to be ready. On the rare occasion when a medication is ready, I have to count the pills before I leave, as I am regularly shorted pills. I have been trying to refill prescription for over two weeks. The Berlin branch would not fill it because there were no refills. They would not call the prescribing doctor, so I did. Typical. The doctor renewed the refill. He then contracted COVID (despite being fully vaccinated). I had his doctor call in a nausea medicine for him when he caught COVID. They called it in to the Heinsberg location, as it is only ten minutes away from our house. When I went to pick it up, they said the first script was being transferred there too, but they were not ready yet. I went back the next day, still not ready, and no pharmacist there. Then I got COVID and I couldn't leave the house. I went back yesterday, and they had canceled the scripts and sent them back to Barre. I called Barre and asked for them to be sent to the Essex branch. They said they couldn't do that, but Essex could. I called Essex and Essex said I had to call Berlin to have them sent. I called Berlin and they said to call Essex. I called Essex and told them what Berlin said. Essex said they would fill them. Yesterday. I just went to Essex, guess what? they haven't filled them yet, and said they couldn't until Monday. He is now out of his needed medication. I am unbelievably livid. This is typical of Kinney's. I just had all of his medications transferred to my pharmacy in Williston. No more Kinney's. I called the Berlin branch and explained I was transferring his medications to Shaws in Williston. I emphasized the importance of the medication he is now out of, that I have been trying to have refilled for the past two weeks. Guess what? The Berlin branch transferred all of his prescriptions to Shaws, EXCEPT the one he is now out of. I can not believe all of this is just gross incompetence, I now believe it is personal, and directed toward the man I am taking care of. Perhaps your staff have issues with people on Medicare? Or people with intellectual disabilities? Not sure why, or how you can continue to play power and control games with access to needed medications. Medications are never renewed, renewals are a hassle, and scripts are never ready when they are promised. I left an honest review on Facebook. Kinney's responded asking me to reach out to their customer care team, numerous times. They never responded. The branch manager was "not available" to speak to me, but I was assured he would call me. He never did. I realize there is a history here, and it takes two to tangle. Kinney's obviously does not need, or want my business. I don't understand why, but it is clearly the case. I can assure you I will never ever set foot in or do business with any Kinney's Pharmacy ever again; but, I will also freely share my experiences with Kinney Drugs, especially this most recent experience. read more

I had asked for 3 prescriptions to be filled and only got 2 of them and I had specifically let them know that I would be picking all 3 up. But they decided that one of them could wait an extra day and I'm not waiting 15-20 minutes for them to fill it when I have a tight schedule also asked the cashier up front for certain scratch tickets for $2 and ended up getting $5 tickets instead starting to not be impressed with these people read more

If i could give negative stars i would. This pharmacy is so incompetent, i'm surprised they haven't killed someone yet. From not refilling prescriptions when we called them in to not delivering on the scheduled day, from lying about contacting the doctors' offices about obtaining refills to not transferring prescriptions to a new pharmacy upon request. This pharmacy should be shut down or at the very least not used by anyone!!! I tried to complain to the home office and they just directed my complain back to the store where the head pharmacist Steve made stupid excuses for their ineptness. Now, i can't reach anyone at this store by phone to find out why they seem to be ignoring the request to transfer my mother's prescriptions to another pharmacy. read more

Wow, thanks for deleting my previous review of 03/20/11. Me thinks you cannot handle the truth. "I only go into this store rarely because of the horrible customer service I have received on multiple occasions. There are usually at least 4-5 employees who are visible just walking around the store - NONE will ask if you need help or are looking for something. They haven't re-organized this store in a while, and it shows. There is dust EVERYWHERE if you reach for an item on a top or bottom shelf. The pharmacy in this store is supposedly the busiest pharmacy of the entire Kinney Drugs chain, but I've never seen it. There are sometimes a few elderly people waiting. The worst customer service experience I had in this store was when I naively chose to pop in for a few items a couple of weeks ago. There was only one register open, which was fine because it was pretty slow. When it came to my turn in line, the cashier WALKED AWAY FROM THE REGISTER, COMPLETELY IGNORING ME, because there was a "suspected thief" (a 20 year old guy on crutches with prescription!) in the store and he needed to give his 2 cents worth to his fellow co-worker about it. Besides the fact that I stood there IGNORED for almost FIVE MINUTES, the poor guy with crutches was immediately surrounded by 4 employees (embarrassing much?), 3 of whom were just staring at him. His prescription had not been scanned correctly at the pharmacy, and it was causing the detector to go off. The shift supervisor resolved the issue, AND WALKED AWAY WITHOUT AN APOLOGY to the young man, who was obviously humiliated. The cashier finally returned to the register and said, "Sorry to keep you waiting! They really needed my help!" WTF?!?! NO! THE CUSTOMER COMES FIRST! I am ashamed to say that I worked for this company in the past (not at this location!) The customer service was EXTREMELY BETTER at my old branch and I was appalled by the behavior I witnessed here." read more

I'm struck by the age of some of these reviews. They are no relevant and haven't been for years. There has been a whole remodel and upgrade for the company and a new rewards program. Generally I have no complaints. There are plenty of people at the check out area to help you as well as on the floor. Something I had NEVER experienced (with 30 yrs of experience with this store) was a clerk getting a Mgr to answer a customers question. I was bummed out because I really liked the product and others must have as well as they were frequently sold out. My recent disappointment was an experience with the pharmacy pick-up area. Bad experience for me and rude behavior on the part of one clerk. This person was very unprofessional and rude w/r/t the new program for low income people. I thought it might be a scam as it sounded too good to be true. The clerk breached my confidentiality which no one should have to experience. Perhaps as many as three employees were trying to deal with the new program which was the cause of my visit. No one should breach your confidentiality so blatantly. She practically hollered at me. I was stunned and speechless. I had been getting bombarded with literature from the Feds and the State w/r/t the new program and it was super upbeat. If the clerk can't be pleasant and professional then she has no business working with the public. I have the manager's business card and I intend to file a complaint. This person needed more training w/r/t dealing with the public respectfully. I got emails from my insurer which misstated the program so apparently it was put in place before everyone could get organized. read more

The Pharmacist is very helpful and will help you if he sees you're standing there and the other employees are busy. He went above and beyond in customer service trying to help me get an insurance issue straightened out so that I could get a medication that I really needed. read more

It's really hit or miss as far as the staff. My last visit started with a dose of sass from a young tech I handed new insurance info to for January 1. Since it was a piece of a letter, I did not need it back because I had the card in my wallet. Then I was really impressed by an older tech was able to find a way to process an overpayment resulting from insurance error (paid out-of-pocket, got most back when claim was fixed on insurance end.) However, I had to explain it all again after having a phone discussion with a pharmacist on how to get the overpayment back. I was told it (a note I presumed) was in the drawer for a cash refund. Was not there. I now have two out of two med orders are messed up for over a week. Both are renewals, meaning the exact thing I have been on for years. One was processed as a TRIPLING of the dose without flagging it for the doctor's office. The other, and I am so tired of reviewing the math on this, is for a nasal spray. They assume the lowest dose or one nostril only or other dosages lowballs I have never been on. read more
