Prefaced with I'm the sickest terminal cancer patient to ever make a complete and full recovery,…read moreand needed a lot of dental work from spending 25 days on a vent - 10 of those in a coma, having brachytherapy (radiation) in my trachea - bad for teeth, malnutrition and starvation to 60 pounds and so forth in 2019. I arrived at Dr Burke freshly transferred from my new anxiety dentist who said I was too anxious. 1-collectively between 2021-2025 over 50k was spent on 13 crowns. I only have 4 uncrowned teeth, so that's a lot of money to only have 7 bottom teeth - the 8th was pulled a year ago. Half of that money? Redoing work, I have 6 new crown with holes in them because root canals were performed shortly after. 2 apicoectomy surgeries on 2 of those failed root canals. In 2025 4 root canals were done, in 3 different appointments. (Read as: cha-Ching, cha-Ching, cha-Ching). 2-the second apicoectomy Dr. Burke told me I was having a root canal redone. It was a lie, and he admitted he lied so I wouldn't "get emotional." It was a betrayal to find the stitches the next day, a chunk of cartilage missing, and spend a vacation with my face bruised. Worse, it was a lie he thought was funny because he tricked me. 3- that was also the first time he gave me fentanyl. As it was also the first time he made my husband leave the room. I had told him previously how I'd spent a month in the icu getting 2 shots of fentanyl a day, and went into a terrible detox in hospice and for weeks afterwards. I was a medical addiction, went through hell to get off it, and he GAVE it to me without asking or telling me. Lack of consent - illegal and negligent. I was given Fentanyl only in free appts, which is the one thing I don't understand. 4.) Dr Burke really doesn't care. In a procedure if the drill is not on, he leaves. He has never finished any of my procedures. That's left to the ladies. 5.) I was dismissed from his service, the letter (pictured) I take responsibility for not leaving. But I had trouble finding another sedation dentist, and I was afraid to leave what I was familiar with. That-is my bad. 6.) I was told I was dismissed was for seeking a second opinion on 21k worth of dental implants, and it frustrated Dr Burke. 7.) do you like staff gossip? Do you like women gossiping and complaining about the dentist? It's awkward AF, but get used to it. 8.) I was dismissed right before getting my implants, so they've kept everything. The molds, the map to place them, everything. 9.) money is paid up front, and is 10% more if not cash. I have missed appts, such as my last one, in which my dad could not get $7000 total that day, but could the following day. Not good enough. Should I make him pay $700 more bc of my cancer debt? No. 10.) I've enclosed pics of a large procedure over 3 hours from 2021 where u received less sedation than for a free root canal through a crown last February. That's crazy. And dangerous. If an administrator would like to rebut my review, all appointments were recorded. I have my entire file, the canceled checks. I wrote an entire book about the patient abuse and lack of care that almost cost my life in my cancer story. Also, I've found a new sedation dentistry and it's been wonderful. I'm so sorry I didn't leave earlier. I wanted so badly to believe you people cared about your patients. ***I'm not taking down my review. It's legal (I've checked) and I have no reason to.

I have been going here since 2015. Unsure if there was a staff change, but I was treated with such…read moredisrespect by two employees not just one but two. They are also no longer accepting Delta Dental, and it takes months to get an appointment. While I like my dentist, her support staff is rude and unprofessional. The staff is a big part of business. I did tape the conversation, and her support staff was aware but that did not stop the way I was being treated. For customer services purposes I will be forwarding to the dentist directly. Hopefully, she makes a change for the better.

So, you guys have heard of that phrase "you don't know a good thing until its gone," right? Well I…read moresortof experienced that this week... You see, usually I plan a visit upstate in the early spring - visit family/friends, get my teeth cleaned with my fav dentist, have my hair cut by my fav long-time stylist, visit Wegmans, etc - but b/c of scheduling conflicts I'm not going to be able to make the trip this month. Soooo seeing as how I was at my 6-month mark I made an appointment with a dentist in NYC. After I left the appointment all I could think about was Clay Dental Care, and how much I missed them! I've been going to CDC since I was a kid and in 20-something years I don't have a single complaint. Why are they so awesome? Here are a few reasons: - The Dr's, the hygienists, the assistants - all of them are seriously the nicest people. They've got hundreds of patients and each and every person in the building remembers my name, and always asks how my Hubs and life in NYC is, so nice! - The place is so clean and up-to-date too. This is a team of people who care about where they work and making patients comfortable. TV & magazines in the comfy waiting room, all of the exam rooms are decorated with items showing off each dr/hygienists personality, there's XM radio playing smooth tunes. - The staff is great about explaining everything they're doing and they take their time - whether it's xrays, getting rid of that tarter buildup or shinning everything up. - There's an assortment of toothpaste flavors available for your cleaning. Don't be ashamed to ask for bubble gum! :-) - Not only do I get a toothbrush when I'm done - but toothpaste and floss and sometimes mouth wash. Once I was given a tooth brushing timer, which I still use occasionally! Did you guys know you're supposed to brush for 2 minutes!? It's true. I really really missed CDC this week... my next cleaning should be in about 6 months and I'm going to start planning my trip upstate now. I'd absolutely travel 250+ miles to get my teeth checked here. For those in central NY looking for a dentist - consider giving Clay Dental Care a call. They are seriously the best!
