Karma was diagnosed with Lepto but was never given the vaccine nor was she ever put on pet…read moreinsurance, even after the Executive Director of Gofi Dogs was instructed to do so several times. I took her to Angell Memorial Hospital and medical care began. My name was the only name on the account. At no time was anyone from Gofi allowed to visit Karma in the ICU unit. After I left Angell, the Executive Director of Gofi Dogs visited without telling me. She told them she was the "co-owner" of Karma. They denied her access. Angell called later that week and said an "irate woman was calling them, verbally abusing three staff members, and trying to get access to Karma." They denied her again. Several Gofi staff members told me they witnessed this and said the Executive Director was completely unhinged. The Executive Director called me a few days later and said, "If I had known Karma needed dialysis and had been allowed access to her, I would've had her euthanized." READ THAT AGAIN. I don't care about the bullying, harassment, getting the Walpole police involved (the Executive Director did that too), calling a lawyer she knew I'd contact (more on that later), the lack of communication, or the flip-flopping about how much money she demanded. I only care about what Karma had to go through. Because the account was in my name only, Karma had that fighting chance. And because of that, she's alive. If it had been the Executive Director of Gofi Dogs' decision, Karma wouldn't be. READ THAT AGAIN TOO. Karma had no one as she sat in that cage for days with tubes sticking out of her and having no idea if I was coming back. That is beyond inexcusable. I sent an email to the Board of Directors of Gofi Dogs. I never heard back from them. Not. A. Word. The Executive Director of Gofi Dogs set up a fundraising platform for Karma and raised well over $1000. I never saw a dime. I contacted a lawyer and he said, "If you have any social media content up, take it down." "Why?" I asked. "Someone from Gofi contacted me and warned me about you. They don't want their reputation tarnished." I asked if it was the Executive Director of Gofi. "No," he said, "It was someone else on their board." The Executive Director also had my review taken down somehow so this is my second posting. Unethical, conniving, and shady all around.

I have extensive familiarity with this…read morehospital: my pet has been hospitalized there twice, including once in the ICU, and has been evaluated by internal medicine, cardiology, ophthalmology, and neurology. Unfortunately, despite the hospital's reputation, we repeatedly felt that our concerns were dismissed and that communication with specialists was unnecessarily difficult. During one hospitalization, our pet experienced what was later believed to be a neurological event, possibly a stroke. When we visited, we told the staff that he was behaving abnormally and appeared weak in very specific and concerning ways. Our observations were dismissed. He was subsequently discharged barely able to walk, despite having been fully mobile beforehand. After calling the hospital and bringing him back, we paid for a neurology consultation. Neurology recommended medications, but despite having paid for the consultation, we initially could not speak directly with the neurologist and had to push repeatedly for a conversation. I understand that consulting specialists are busy and that internal medicine may remain the primary service, but when an animal has experienced a potentially life-altering neurological event, being effectively unavailable to the owners is unacceptable. I worry that another owner might not have felt able to advocate as forcefully. Later, our pet developed episodes of staring, circling, and other abnormal behavior. We returned to the emergency department because we were concerned about seizures. We were told that it was probably not a seizure and that the symptoms could be gastrointestinal. We repeatedly explained that he was behaving very differently from his baseline, but we did not feel that our account was being taken seriously. After further discussion, we were sent home with Keppra (anti-seizure medication) and instructed to monitor him. They also told us not to start the medication for now, and wait to see if he had another event - which made sense. He had another episode, we started the medication, and he has not had another episode since. That may or may not prove the episodes were seizures, but the most troubling part of the experience was how consistently unheard we felt. I recognize that veterinary hospitals are often understaffed and overworked, and I have tried to give Angell the benefit of the doubt. However, these were not isolated frustrations. They formed a repeated pattern of poor communication, inflexibility, and failure to listen carefully to an owner who knew that something was wrong with his animal. Anyone considering Angell should be prepared to advocate very firmly, ask direct questions, and insist on communication with the clinicians involved in their pet's care. Based on our experiences, I no longer believe that Angell is necessarily the best or only option for specialty and emergency veterinary care in the region.

Christine has always been on time, attentive, and responsive to both in-person, and virtual sessions. I was with her before CoVID and the transition to virtual sessions during the pandemic was seamless. Despite what the other review said, I have found working with Christine to be incredibly invigorating and helpful. She pays close attention to details that are important to you - more than just about whatever issues you may be working on, but also about what matters to you. She has been a great asset for me in working through numerous problems that have come up through the years, and providing me relevant, practical advice on how to work to improve myself and my strengths. I also want to note how much Christine truly cares about those she works with, as she has, on numerous occasions, had impromptu sessions with me when I needed urgent therapeutic support. Overall, Christine has been probably the best therapist I've ever had in over 15 years, hence why I stuck with her for so long. I truly think the other reviewer did not give her even the smallest of chances, as that review sounds NOTHING like the Christine I've worked with for years now.

They were and are there during life's most difficult moments in a pet parent's life. We are always amazed at how the animals respond to Dr. Huffenus. We have dubbed him the cat and dog whisperer. Seriously. The staff are knowledgeable, supportive and empathetic. They were there helping us when we didn't know that our little 4 1/2 pound curly Chihuahua swallowed a tiny piece of grill brush. I don't know how he saw it on the X-ray. Then perform the surgery the same day as the diagnosis. When Curly had back issues, they worked with another woman there who loaned us their small dogs back brace before we could figure out what size our dog needed. And most recently, they were there when we had to let go of our 17-year-old cat Everette. They went the extra mile to try and extend his life. Ultimately, we had to let go. We were touched to find that the staff sent a sympathy card home to us. I could go on and on singing the praises of these pet doctors and staff. But my prayers go up for each, and everyone of them and their families for the kindness, generosity, and empathy that they have shown us. I thank God for them. From the bottom of our hearts, my husband and I are grateful.
