Bent and scratched my Lexani rims during an alignment job. When asked that they fix or replace my wheel the manager of the service department Michael Huffman laughed in my face and called me a liar in front of my father. We have purchased 4 vehicles from this store and have 7 fords that will never ever see this horrible service department again. After doing business with them for 7 years, I believe I gave them enough time to get their act together. They are the FORD store here in town so that's where I serviced my Excursion, and bought and serviced my Fusion AWD SEL. Kip Killmon is really two stories. A sales department, which though not the most aggressively priced, is good to deal with. By contrast, the SERVICE DEPARTMENT, which has had severe turnover during the time I know them, prompting me to always be hopeful they would correct their many problems, is actually HOSTILE to customers. The last time I was there, April 16, 2012, the SERVICE WRITER treated me poorly, to say the least, proving he was indifferent to customer needs, and more interested in winning an argument than winning a customer. I regret loosing the relationship with CHUCK, a fine mechanic, and Matt, who always treated me fairly in SALES, but returning to KIP KILLMON FORD is something only a gluten for punishment would do. Gibson's Garage in Mineral, VA is more professional, better qualified, and a delight to deal with. They will undoubtedly be able to service my FORD after servicing my PORCHE, and MERCEDES through the years. read more

We sent Kip Killmon an email with all the details about three days ago and have not received a response. Test drove and agreed to buy a used vehicle from Kip Killmon Ford. I told the sales person to work up all the costs and send me an estimated payment based on my money down etc. When I got the breakdown of title, tags, fees, etc. I noticed there was a $500 document fee and a $269 Etch fee? These "fees" added 7% to the cost of the car. I researched the "document fee" and discovered it is a bogus dealer mark up that really means nothing. Virginia is one of the few states that does not regulate this fee. Most states cap it around 200. I could not find out what a Etch fee is. This dealer like many others can advertise a car at a low price and even lower the cost during negotiation, knowing they can add these bogus, unjustified, and rip off "fees" at any amount they choose. These don't show up until you are sitting down signing all your paperwork. This is a deceitful practice and any dealer that engages in this should be avoided. Because this Ford dealer is convenient to where I live, I took my 08 Chevy Suburban to the Killmon service department for an annual VA state inspection. It was failed because of two serious problems: front brakes were said to be worn below safety tolerances ($399 to replace pads and rotors) and there was said to be a "worn tie rod end" in the steering mechanism ($300.61 to replace and align all four wheels). This didn't seem right to me, so I paid the failed inspection fee ($16) and took the car, sporting its FAILED sticker, to a well respected independent shop in nearby Mineral, VA. They found that the brake pads were worn, but still within safe spec, and there was no problem with the steering but there was some extra play in a wheel bearing that could be taken out just through adjustment of the torque on the bearing. I elected to replace the rotors and pads anyway, since they would need it in a few more thousand miles, and the bill came to $282.90 plus inspection fee of $16.00. A full $100 less than Killmon's charges for the same brake work, and certainly not a total bill of $699.61 for additional work that wasn't needed. This leaves me with either of two conclusions about Killmon Ford's service department; (1) The service technicians are poorly trained, or (2) the service department simply milks customers with false replacement information and bills accordingly. Either situation is enough to keep me from going back or advising anyone else to use their "service". I would like to see a reply from Killmon Ford that justifies their actions, or I would like to see reports from other Killmon Ford service customers that have had similar experiences. Amendment/correction 5/20/2016 I mistakenly said that the wheel bearing was "adjusted". A check with the shop that did the final work informed me that the wheel bearing "shows normal wear and has some detectable play" that will be cause for replacement in the future. No specific miles or time, just a "keep an eye on it" issue that should be checked during future normal service routine. And confirmation that the tie rod end is not in any way in need of replacement. I should also mention that the local Ford service manager and the General Manager in the Northern Virginia offices phoned personally and discussed the issues I reviewed. read more

My F150 i bougThey told me i had anti freeze in my oil which meant a cracked block.ht there was missing once in a while.I took it to them to check it out.2 days later they called me to come in and told me they think it was a sensor but were not sure. They would have to tear theengine down .More than likely i needed a new motor. 6K ..They also told me there was antifreeze in the oil. the oil was clean no sign of anything and i drove it home 1 year later it is running fine.Went for a second opinion from a friend who builds race cars he said there is nothing wrong with the truck. If you buy used, don't expect honesty, have someone else look it over first. But I would recommend staying away all together. Purchased a used Ford truck, thinking that buying from a brand-name dealer would be a wise choice. We were wrong. They sold us a truck with a rear-end issue, a pre-existing (and previously looked at or worked on) valve cover issue and the worst....a rusted underbody. After these things were brought to our attention after 2 months we asked if they were willing to fix any of them. They were will to let an auto body shop re-coat the bottom without removing the rust first and pay for half. They couldn't tell us who they would choose. Come to find out, auto body shops don't do that kind of work. As far as the valve cover and rear-end....nothing! OR they would buy ours back for $6,000 less than we paid OR we could trade it in for another used (but newer) truck for $31,500 that had terrible body work to it's back left side that they denied until we demanded the CarFax report. The replacement truck was on the lot when we purchased ours for $28,000, now they want $31,500!! Crooks! May as well bought from the shady used car lot across the street. Kip Killmon has had a 2011 Ford Expedition EL Limited (VIN: 1FMJK2A52BEF33456) up for sale for some time now. While perusing the images they posted for the vehicle, I noticed that two of the pictures depicted a body color (black) grille, whereas another picture depicted a chrome grille. Note that in 2011, a body color grille was not offered on ANY Expedition. I sent several emails to used car sales manager, Matt Seidlarczyk, regarding this issue. I inquired as to whether the images posted were of 2 separate vehicles or whether the grille had been replaced. While Matt had responded quickly to emails before I had noticed this issue, he ignored every email regarding the grille, including two emails from me and two from two of my friends that inquired about the issue as well. In my opinion, the lack of response from the dealership makes it clear that the dealership has something to hide in regards to this vehicle. Considering that alongside the poor reviews for both this dealership and the now defunct Kip Killmon's Tysons Ford, many of which are in regards to deceptive business practices, I would suggest taking your business elsewhere. read more

So let's just say that Michael Huffman the Parts and Service Director is very rude and unprofessional...let me give you a break down of my situation...I bought a 2011 Ford Fusion Hybrid from them middle to end of May 2017...before a week was up of having the vehicle I could hear something in the front end of the car when braking...so I contacted them and set up an appointment to get it taken car of...before the appointment could get here the brake light warning came on...so I contacted them and was told to bring the vehicle in right away...the car was looked at and I was told that nothing was found to be wrong with the brakes but they found an issue with the brake light sensors going bad on the Ford forum...so they replaced that...I picked my car back up and continued to hear something...so me thinking I am hearing things until people riding with me started to hear it too...I took it back by there and made a mechanic ride with me to hear it...so they didn't think I was a nut job or so they couldn't say they didn't find the issue this time...he heard the noise and told me he would get some type of machine put on the vehicle the next day that would pin point the noise...the next day the Service Writer Grant called me and told me it was the driver's side ball joints making the noise and the passenger side ball joints were loose and it would have to have an alignment...so I explained to him that I didn't think this repair should be at my expense since I brought the car back in after not having it a full week...he told me he would speak with Jim and get back to me...he contacted me back and said that Jim had agreed to the repairs with a $100 deductible...now mind you in this conversation there was no mention of them only paying for what fixed the noise...I agreed to pay the $100...I picked my car up and paid my $100...the next day I was reviewing the receipt I was given and noticed there was only two ball joints and an alignment on the receipt...I contacted Grant to ask him why what he told me was going to be done wasn't done...and that is when he said the Sales Department would only pay for what fixed the noise...I then said to him well when you all thought I was going to be paying the full expense for this it needed 4 ball joints and then it turned out that only 2 got done...what does that say to you...upon being angry I vented on Facebook to which Michael Huffman responded to my post that he was going to look into...instead of responding to me by phone which they have my contact information...he put everything under the post I made...and that was after telling him I would PM him or call...I tried calling 5 times that day and I was either told he was not in the office or I got his voicemail which was full and you couldn't leave a message...he them proceeded to PM me through Facebook to continue to have a conversation with me...I ended the conversation with we will agree to disagree because I feel it was very dishonest of the service department to not let me know what was actually going to be done to my car and then to not honor what I was told...I have not an issue in the world with the Sales Manager Jim he has always been nothing but nice to me and always given me a vehicle to drive when they have my car...I don't want Jim to look bad in the situation because I believe what he told the Service Writer was not conveyed and this issue should not fall on he Sales Department it is now the Service Departments issue and they should handle the cost of completing what I was told...and again Michael Huffman is very unprofessional...and comes off very condescending through his written messages... read more

I would give zero stars if I could. This service department is made up of the most unprofessional and rude people I've ever met. I bought my car from a great sales department but started having problems after just 2,000 miles (a brand new car) with what turned out to be a recall. I took it to the service department at least four times with their response being that there was never anything wrong with it, yet somehow blamed me for creating the "nonexistent" problem. I continued to take it to them for TWO YEARS (my fault for thinking they'd eventually do their jobs) and they CONSISTENTLY told me nothing was wrong, didn't test drive it like I asked, parked it in the back and NEVER called me that it was ready. (They once had it sitting in the back for over a week with no call, no work on it, nothing). I finally took it to Battlefield Ford in Culpeper and they fixed it immediately with no excuses from the sales department and were perfectly nice and professional. The only thing the Kip Kilmon service department knows about cars is how to plug it into the computer and read what it says. I would drive an incalculable number of miles to get my car fixed than to deal with this service department again. read more
