Serpe offers an online quote option which gives you the rates for 4-5 carriers, and their agent followed up with me on the next business day. Lynda was very friendly and responsive. She was able to come back with better rates that originally obtained in the online quote. Unfortunately my better rates were from some of the smaller insurance companies that I've heard have iffy reputations. We got a better rate from a 'big name' elsewhere. I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars as the affordable options were just not as solid/reputable of carriers as I was hoping to go with. Ian seems to say all the right things when he wants to initiate a policy, or keep a policy, but it…read morefalls apart in the execution. This is why we wanted to have our policy moved to a different State Farm agent. This has been the MO, when ever we need information or have a question it is like pulling teeth to get an answer, if this was not the case he may still be our agent. I understand maybe why he wants to drop the ball since we are moving away from him but in my opinion it is very unprofessional he should carry out his duties to the end no matter the outcome. Yet another reason which shows the professionalism or lack of. According to Ian we need to go on line and request the transfer they cant do it. I have talked to other agents who say that is ridiculous agents can transfer policies. So according to Ian we need to set up an online account just to transfer our account. Sounds like he doesn't want to be bothered. He had our business for a few years with premiums in excess of 20 k per year, maybe we weren't big enough for him not making enough off of us i guess. Now when we requested for him to do something now he cant. Beware hope he doesn't treat all his policy holders this way saying a lot but very little follow through and putting the burden on you when something is needed. I could go on but I think this brings the point across.
