We were craving dim sum and went here at 10:30am on a Sunday, the restaurant was only opened for 30min but it was packed and filled with people, that's when you know the place is good! The food came out piping hot and super fast, within 5 minutes our table was full of dishes! We were a small party so we only tried some dishes: Shu Mai, Shrimp Har Gow (eh), Chicken Feet, Steamed BBQ Pork Buns, Baked BBQ Pork Buns, Soup Dumplings, Fried Shrimp Balls, and Tofu Pudding for dessert. The stars of the show were the siu mai, the Baked BBQ Pork Buns and the Steamed BBQ Pork Buns. The siu mai was packed with fillings and it was so good, might be the best one I've ever had. The Baked buns were good but the buns might be a little too heavy. However, the steamed buns were so airy, light, and fluffy. I've never seen a bun that fluffy, it was like touching a cloud. It was still good when we reheated it at home, too! My boyfriend also loved the chicken feet, it was packed with flavor and very juicy. On the other hand, the soup dumplings were okay they didn't have any soup in them. The shrimp har gow wrapper was really thick, making it not as good. The tofu pudding was delicious. It's silken tofu with sweet ginger syrup, usually served with chewy balls but they didn't have that here. It was served hot and it was my childhood so I had to get it :) It looked like a lot of food but the bill came out to be around $50+, which wasn't bad given that we had a lot of leftovers for the day. Let me start by saying A-Mazing. Went to Kirin Court with a group of friends, party was about 11 people. We've been previously during dinner and wanted to try the lunch buffet style. The food was delicious, fresh and reasonably priced for the portions. The lighting and furnishings were reminiscent of the culture. I loved the family style lazy Susan as this allowed us to share portions and dishes. Our group really enjoyed themselves. Great food, fun and fellowship. My only complaint was with the server or waitstaff. There was a lady who openly expressed her frustration with our group being that we were not sure of some of the dishes ingredients. As Americans, we don't always understand the protein and other ingredients, so patience or empathy is always appreciated especially when you're spending your hard earns money and are being resentful with your questions. She turned her nose up, called a gentleman over to our table and states, 'you deal with them' and walked off. Not good, however, the gentleman was more than gracious and attentive. Especially given the 20% gratuity was already added to the checks due to our groups size. Thankfully, her behavior did not ruin our meal nor the experience. Had dinner here with a group of friends! It was not super busy, so the service was very fast and efficient! We ended up ordering some main dishes and dim sum plates to share. I don't usually like orange chicken, but this was probably the best orange chicken dish I have ever had. The chicken was so soft, tender, and fresh, and the outer fried layering was thin and did not have that oily taste at all. It tasted as though it was air fried, and it was so delicious. The sauce was also great, and there wasn't too much to overpower the chicken itself. 10/10 dish, and the broccoli florets were well cooked and paired well. Otherwise, I really like the stick rice in lotus leaf, which is my favorite dim sum dish! It was gooey, chewy, and the meat inside was plentiful. Overall, I really enjoyed my time here! This place is super popular; we (a party of 4) waited 30 minutes to get seated for Sunday lunch. My friends and I heard that it's the best dim sum experience in DFW, but we agreed that it doesn't meet the standard of other US cities like Houston or Los Angelos. It was chaotic in the restaurant and the food wasn't amazing but was able to satisfy our dim sum cravings. Service was alright; one worker in particular wasn't friendly. As for the dishes we ordered, our favorites were the Shumai (a classic that really can't be messed up) and the Fried Taro Balls (good texture of crispiness on the outside and soft on the inside). Our shrimp dumplings were really sticky. The skin was sticking to the shrimp. This was the same observation for the xiao long boa and other dumplings. I thought the food was average, nothing to write home about, but I think it definitely satisfies a dim sum craving. Dim sum is such a nostalgic dish for me that I have high expectations. Kirin Court hits that nostalgia factor well. They have the traditional carts that go around and if the carts don't have what you want, you can go to the front or order from the kitchen. Overall, the dim sum was good. Nothing spectacular but truly just good dim sum. The har gow and human were tasty, the taro shrimp balls were yummy, and the desserts, although they mostly ran out by the end of the afternoon, were classic treats too. The mango pudding, which was the only thing that lasted long enough to take a picture before our hungry mouths demolished it was not too sweet and had little sago pearls that really rounded it out. If you go during their brunch hours, the staff is pushing around a cart with selections of pre-made dimsum items. You just point at what you want and they will put it on your table. I can't believe I've never written a review for this place when I've been coming here for 10+ years with my family, even before it became Kirin Court! I've tried multiple other dim sum places but Kirin Court has always been the best in terms of taste. If you are planning to come on a weekend, plan to come either super early or super late. They open at 10am and there's usually already a wait for a table for 4 by 10:30. I came with my parents and husband last weekend at 10:30 and was told we would need to wait about 20 minutes, but they had us seated in about 5. Also, if you have a large party (I think 8+) you can call ahead to make reservations. They offer the authentic dim sum experience with lots of little carts circulating around. There are a few items at the front of the restaurant that you have to go up to order. My favorite items are: the steamed pork ribs, radish cake, fried shrimp balls, shrimp har gao, shrimp rice noodle roll, chinese donut rice noodle roll (needs to be specially ordered from the kitchen), egg tarts, and tofu dessert. Just like any typical dim sum restaurants, the service could be a little lacking. They do push the carts around here. They have a lot of variety of dim sum to choose from. There's something for everyone. When we are craving for dim sum, we are willing to do the drive here. It's 50 minutes from where I live, so that tells you a lot about how good the dim sum is here.
