I showed up after 20 mins after placing an order online and order wasnt ready, its ok. I asked waitress to check how much longer I would have to wait. She went to the back, checked, and didn't say anything when she came back out. I said ok I'll just wait. Another five mins goes by and it was finally ready. Be prepare to wait a long time. As she was packing the food, she forgot the rice, I had ask for it. After waiting for so long, she had the audacity to ask for my order number to confirm because she said sometimes there's multiple orders of the same name. If that was needed, shouldn't she confirm that before she went to the back to check on my order? I asked how many online order she had, she said one. We ordered a bunch of dishes as they all were priced pretty well and we wanted to try a little of everything. The soup dumplings were great and hot. The sizzling baos were not as good as the dumplings but we still enjoyed them. We also ordered the sweet and sour pork, salt and pepper fish filets, and green beans. They were all very good. Sweet and sour pork was a little dry, though. One of the only issues we encountered was that apps and dumplings came out with everything else at the same time. This place is great and has a good mix of authentic Chinese dishes and American Chinese as well. The soup dumplings are really good and they are pretty massive! They did break a bit easy but the soup and meat portion inside is super generous and the broth was very rich. I enjoyed the rest of the dishes especially the stewed chicken it tasted very familiar. We enjoyed almost everything at China Blue. Surprisingly, we really liked eggplant though we don't usually care for the texture. The eggplant paired well with the string beans. The seasoning on the beef and fish filet were delicious. Beware of their dumplings as they're really big. I thought they were a bit expensive, but after noticing their size, the prices were reasonable. I liked the chive and pork dumplings the best. For all the good reviews, my husband and I were kind of excited about going to this place and we actually drove about 40 minutes to get there. It was not good! Food was mediocre warm not hot, over sauced, and our waitress was hard to hear and not very friendly. Changes to their items on the menu are not doable. I would give this place 4 - 4.5 stars as the food and service was good overall! We came to China Blue on a Friday evening for dinner and the restaurant was decently busy but not overly so. We were seated immediately and after we put in our order, the food came relatively quickly. Pretty much everything we got was quite delicious! The spicy wontons were flavorful and not super spicy (good for me as someone with a lower spice tolerance). The pan fried pork baos were perfectly crispy on the bottom with a nice juicy filling. The eggplant with minced meat was pretty standard for an eggplant dish at a Chinese restaurant but good nonetheless. Unfortunately, our only gripe was that we ordered the spicy fish with Chinese sauerkraut and they brought out the non-spicy version instead. Not a huge deal since we were totally okay with the non-spicy version and opted to not make a fuss out of it. Fitting my screening criteria perfectly at 132 reviews with a 4.3 average. First of all,the atmosphere is great. Traditional Chinese design influence is found throughout including the tables and chairs. This is a big deal to me and can put a place on my go back list instantly. Service was urgent and friendly. Although I needed more time to digest the extensive menu,I wasn't forgotten and checked on often. The food was delicious and well prepared. Szechuan chicken was more a traditional preparation than I'm used to but excellent spice level and crunch. The pan fried spicy pork boa were perfect as were the blue China soup dumplings. Finally,I feel like the prices are good for 2024. I even added a lunch special of fried string beans to go for tomorrow. There were plenty of leftovers. There is no shortage of Asian restaurants in every shape and form in the Plano area these days. I absolutely love it when a restaurant invests in a theme. China Blue truly ties together their food and culture, making it a lovely ambiance to experience. We tried several items on their menu. Each one was a hit and miss at the same time. We were comparing their style to another popular restaurant nearby. We ordered the Spicy Wonton appetizer. The sauce was delicious, obviously made in-house, full of cashews, peanuts, and cilantro, but the wontons were tiny (1"). It was like eating a chewy bite-sized sample. Next, we ordered the Beef Flat Noodles. To our surprise, it was a generous portion, definitely enough for two people. The hand pulled noodles were cooked perfectly! The beef was tender, the sprouts, and onions were fresh. It's definitely a mild bland dish. We added some of the sauce from the Spicy Wontons, drizzled it on top, and that made it perfect for us. We also tried the Walnut Shrimp. It was not worth $17.00. The plate presentation was showy. The sweet mayo sauce and candied walnuts were delicious -- but the shrimp were very small, 90% of what you see in my picture is batter and thats why they look huge. If you enjoy this style, you will love it. Our greatest test for any restaurant is Orange Chicken. If you're a fan of Orange Chicken from Panda Express, you will be thrilled with this dish. They serve a generous portion, enough for two people. Each nugget has a taste of chicken and a ton of batter. I may be wrong, but it tasted like a bag of frozen chicken nuggets dropped in a fryer. Service was good, our servers stopped by quite often to refill water and it was easy to ask them for anything else we needed. The food we ordered was subpar at best though :/ it was user error maybe since the items we picked just weren't to our liking. Honey walnut shrimp wasn't what I was looking for the batter was too much and not as crispy as other places. The drizzle on there had too much mayo and I wished the shrimp was tossed in the sauce instead. We ordered some spicy pan fried pork buns but the dough stuck to my teeth too much and I didn't like how they seasoned the pork filling. Also wished it was more crispy. The only things we really liked were the string beans and the spicy chili wontons. The wontons honestly weren't spicy but the flavor was everything! Heard a lot about this place, so had to try it out. I went with my family and, walking in, we were greeted by the friendly staff. I immediately noticed the nice decor, making it look upscale. When we were looking the large menu, our waitress recommended the Salt and Pepper fish, which turned out to be our favorite dish. The batter was light, not too salty, crispy, and not oily at all.
