We went last night for our mom for Mothers Day (party of 6) and now we are ALL fighting for our lives! We definitely got food poisoning last night. I DO NOT recommend going here. They were extremely unorganized and understaffed on a busy day. We asked for rice at the beginning of our meal and it came right when we asked for the check. They've completely changed management and their menu is no longer accurate. No longer ala carte but forced AYCE. Quality has gone downhill. All the meats we ordered were frozen sheet blocks, you can't even pick up a single slice to dip the meat. All the premium meats are gone, the only options now are the cheapest 4 slices of meat (that again, are frozen sheets with frost on it). We took two couples with us, and it was so disappointing because this was their first impression of it. I flagged down the server to have fresh cut meat, and they brought out more frozen sheets. I know it's not their fault, but honestly just disappointed you can't even experience even dipping the meat in the broth. Ran out of sweet potato noodles and only had cheap ramen noodles/udon. They added new buffet trays of fried cheap French fries and chicken nuggets on the side. I'm praying that the other locations aren't moving to this model, would not recommend this location. We shared a 3 soup base and I'd say my favorite was the house special, but the golden chicken was good too. The mala was super spicy so it was a tad painful to eat but if you can handle spice well, you may enjoy this. It's a decent size restaurant and the employees are nice, but Haidilao's service is at a higher level that nobody can compete. For pricing, I prefer to go to Nan Hot Pot ($40/pp) or Chocho Hot Pot ($50/pp) because AYCE. At Shoo Loong Kan or Haidilao, you will spend around $60 each average but not getting all the stuffs you want. read more

I really wanted to like this spot, but the lack of hygiene was a major dealbreaker. We came for the "Meat O'Clock" special (weekdays before 5 PM) and were the only ones there, yet the service and cleanliness were still lacking. The Major Red Flags -Cleanliness: My plate and chopsticks were dirty when we sat down. At the sauce bar, over half the bowls were dirty. I had to keep pointing it out to the staff to get clean ones. -Maintenance: The snack/dessert bar looked like it had been sitting out all day, and many items were empty and never refilled. -Service: Despite telling our server we'd never been here, she didn't explain the sauce or dessert bars at all. The Value: The pricing is steep for the quality of service. The soup base is a flat $20 (1-3 flavors), and the sauce bar is $3-$4 per person. I like this place overall, but the value and way they charge for things here kills it for me. And, it's frustrating when restaurants don't provide pricing transparency online so you don't know what you're getting into or how it's going to work. So basically, the bases are the same price regardless of whether you split it into one, too, or three types. So you are starting at $20. Meat orders are 10 bucks each and if you are going to get at least 2 then it makes sense to get all you can eat at $20 more, I think it was. One problem here for me is that you can do that, but then you get killed on any vegetables you want to add. I get it, they have costs associated with these things, but I'm never going to feel good paying $5 for a small bowl of raw broccoli. Similar for anything else you want. I have been at other places where if you are buying all you can eat meats then it includes veggies too. That probably works out well at a lot of places for them too; when your cost is fixed they would rather you eat some greens and fill up sooner so you don't order more meat. That's my theory, anyway. Ended up at $100 for lunch for 2 people that I could have done at similar restaurants for closer to $60. I did enjoy the dine but 2 stars are for low value and lack of pricing transparency. Second visit to this location in the last 4 months and this time we brought a group of 8 for my uncle's birthday. Originally I was hoping to have 10 ppl and when I called in earlier the day for a reservation they offered a VIP room and mentioned a $300 minimum purchase. The waitstaff said with even just 8 people we could definitely spend $300! Since two ppl weren't able to make it we decided to change to a regular table instead and the service on Sunday night was pretty hands off. We had to ask for tongs ourselves, they didn't give us any bowls even though we ordered rice. Everyone enjoyed their food though. We got the golden chicken broth which is so flavorful and savory. And we loved the tangy zip of the tom yum broth. For proteins we got 3 orders of premium fatty beef to eat with the golden broth and 2 orders of basa fish for the tom yum. Tofu fish cakes to eat with both! For veggies we got 2 of the assorted veg platters and winter melon. And we also got the tri-color noodles and one order of rice. This was a good amount of food for our group and we had room to get ice cream down the street afterwards! Oh I almost forgot we tried the pork hock with the cumin seasoning I enjoy. My friend and I love hot pot, so we came this past weekend, and I think this location is even better than the one in Chicago. It's so clean, and our waitress was so attentive despite how busy she was. She came to fill up our water multiple times and even gave me a hairtie and an apron. She also gave us a rundown of the menu and handed us some really cute freebies at the end! It happened to be the 15th day after CNY, and everyone got little bowls of tangyuan, which is such a thoughtful touch. Broth is pretty good, but it's not my favorite in the city. However, that doesn't really matter because their sauce bar is stacked and you can make a top notch sauce with their ingredients. Everything is really high quality. The meat comes out beautifully. The interior of the restaurant is gorgeous, and it actually makes you feel as if you're sitting in a restaurant in China. 10/10 would come again. I see the hype now. I don't really like hot pots that charge per item because with so many all you can eat with excellent quality, it's hard to compete. Here's what we got: 3 flavour pot : the choices we got were the golden chicken broth, mushroom, and the medium spicy hot house mala beef broth. The mala beef broth was still extremely spicy even in medium so if you cannot handle spicy, just don't order this. If you can handle spicy, I'd still suggest getting the slightly spicy. This coming from a girl who LOVES spicy food and grew up in Malaysia. From all the choices, the golden chicken broth is the best. I love the flavor. All the meats are good. I recommend the lamb and ribeye. They are well marbled! The veggie selections were just okay but I do wish they would sell enoki mushrooms. I skipped seafood for now but they do have a lot of selections and look pretty fresh. I cannot comment now but I may update if I do try it. Now, they do charge you for sauces which is like $3. Came here for the first time tonight! It was very packed for a Saturday night and we had to wait for a bit. Approaching the entrance, you can see the bustling atmosphere through the windows covered in lit lanterns.
