Beware of the $25 dollar short notice cancellation policy which seems to be very extremely important to them! There was a miscommunication with their office when rescheduling an appointment. It was expressed to me that after rescheduling my son's dental appointment yesterday, within the proper time frame, that in fact, the receptionist failed to mention there was another appointment for myself. I rescheduled the appointment for my son fine. Now, the office says they are going to charge me $25 and they are just following the cancelation policy because I didn't reschedule the other one for myself, which wasn't even mentioned. Ashton Dental has been great for me as I have been getting a lot of work done on my teeth since last year. I enjoy joking with Dr. Ho and assistant Arlene each time I go. Dr. Ho is very good at numbing and working gently. I am always relaxed and never in discomfort. She's awesome. Arlene is great too and always making sure that I'm okay when I have to wait for a little while for something to set. At the front desk, Brandie is very welcoming and nice while we check insurance and get scheduled in for my next visit. This team is great and a huge reason I don't dread going to the dentist anymore! Made an appointment to get my teeth cleaned. Told the receptionist and the dentist that I have been terrified of the dentist ever since I was a kid. The staff was nice and so was the dentist, but after getting all my x-rays and waiting 30 min for the dentist (I don't remember which one it was) to come see me, he told me I had a gummy smile and may want cosmetic surgery to fix it but that I also needed a deep cleaning and he didn't have time for it then so I would need to schedule 2 more appointments to come back and get it done. I was irritated because they didn't do anything for my teeth but said fine. As I went to make to make the appointment, I was told that my dentist wasn't available on the days I would be available so I'd either have to take off work or use one of their other dentists.. however, if I chose to use one of their other dentists, I would have to get x-rays AGAIN. I said I would call and make an appointment later. A month later I received a bill for almost $400 AFTER insurance. Decided I would never go back. I found a new dentist. Ashton Dental in Aurora is one of the best and reliable dental care. I had an emergency, my child was accidentally bumped by one of a classmate and a front teeth broke. I was very upset about the situation and confused at that moment. Just one time called and Ashton Dental give me appointment to bring her right way. it was an expedited service and my child have a front teeth replaced with out any nerves damage. I ended up reporting this office to my insurance company for questionable billling practices only to find out that they had already received several similar complaints and were in the process of investigating. I moved to the area from Milwaukee last year and began going here because friends in the area were already patients. We all collectively began to notice a trend of them quoting us the same out of pocket amount after insurance that they were quoting to people who had no coverage to speak of ...essentially upping their profit margin and rendering my insurance coverage of no real benefit to me. If that's not bad enough, my friend and I (who both have healthy teeth) were both in pain for several days after routine cleaning. Another friend had a crown replaced improperly and while they admitted their mistake, they still charged him to fix it and he wound up with an infection. We currently are all on the hunt for a new dental provider. read more

First time visitor to Ashton dental. Warmly greeted, processed as a new patient quickly and efficiently. Very little wait for appointment. Initial examination for suspect trouble was well handled as I have not been a fan of dentists over my lifetime. Process was explained thoroughly. Staff asked questions as to my dental history including probing me for gag reflex sensitivity prior to taking xrays. While I provided my self diagnosis on what I thought issue inside my mouth, dentist did his best to relax me and assured me issue was not as serious as I thought. Treatment plan was explained to me including probable cost to perform treatment. No pressure was exhibited. Will continue to visit Ashton Dental in future. Is it possible to give no stars? I could go on and on here about how bad this place is! 1. They have no emergency number. If you need help on a holiday weekend like I did...you're screwed. Their message tells you to call 911. 2. OUCH! The cleaning was the most painful cleaning I've ever had! 3. Dr. Aloor will not forward my records to my new dentist. 4. Dr. Aloor filled eight cavities and within two months--I've had problems with all of them. Now I have to have all these cavities done all over again--money and time NOT WELL SPENT! 5. I came here in the first place because I have no dental insurance and their prices were inexpensive...but you get what you pay for...the quality of work stinks! read more

Would give it no stars if possible. I had a root canal done in 2010, the crown broke off in 2011 Dr. Sean glued it back on and told me if it happens again he'll fix it... Well it fell off again, I called the office on Oct. 8, 2012 and was told that because Medicaid only covers extractions now he wouldn't fix it. This crown is just now 2 years old I paid $750 out of pocket and insurance covered the rest in 2010 when it was done. Now I'm not a dentist by any means but for something to cost that much money that was already paid for I believe it should last longer than 2 years and if it doesn't the dentist should fix it for free, not try to charge an additional $100+ to have it re-cemented. Just terrible business coming from a person who's parents have owned their own businesses all her life. Would not recommend this practice at all. read more

Hmm. Completely disagree with people's complaints. I think they may have had different dentists. But the dentist I had was great; Dr. Aldoori. He was patient and very kind. He did a great job with my deep cleaning and applying the anesthesia. Their staff is also SUPER helpful. They are upfront about the costs and there were no surprises. DO NOT GO HERE!!! 2 stars is honestly me being generous. I started going to Ashton for my braces about 2 years ago. Before my last scheduled appointment I went in to see how many more visits I would have before my braces were to be removed and how much I would have to come out of pocket because my insurance expired. I was told I would have to pay over $1K, they lied. Turns out my insurance had covered all of the expenses and they were trying to get me for some money and also they did not even know what they were doing. 3 of my brackets needed re-positioning & I need a chain on the bottom row. The "Doctor" there only took a few courses in ortho, he is no specialist and does not care about his patients. Barely interacts with you and does not pay attention to progress in your teeth. read more

Though Dr. Sean is very nice, his staff is not at all helpful. After I was billed for more than I expected, their staff would not look into it. They are a preferred provider of my dental insurance carrier. They quoted me a price. It ended up being higher. This dentist office is negligent and commits insurance fraud! I went in February to get a crown/abutment put on a dental implant. I did not get the crown until May 14. Finally when I went in to get the crown put on the dentist shaved two healthy teeth in order to make a crown fit that did not look like my other teeth and after showing me it in a mirror it was so long that I couldn't close my jaw. I told them I did not want another one ordered and would be going elsewhere. Finally I got the crown put on at a different provider and had to pay for the entire procedure upfront because Ashton Dental had submitted paperwork to my insurance a month and half before it was suppose to be put in. My insurance paid them on May 22 and I have been fighting with them for the past three months to get the money returned. Still do not have it. I have reported them to Illinois Department of Professional and Financial Regulations for negligence, Illinois Attorney General for theft and BCBS fraud line for theft. Do not let these big corporations take advantage of you and stand up to them!! read more

Okay. I'm not someone who is typically worried about going to the dentist, but after coming here I think I've figured out why people can get so freaked out just going to get a simple cleaning. The first time I came to Ashton, I had a cleaning done by a woman (who I can't seem to find on their website) and it was GREAT. Seriously fast, quick, painless, she was nice, etc., so I didn't think twice when I came in for a second cleaning. After I was prepped, Dr. Sean came in and, without two words, started the cleaning. Almost immediately I stopped him and said it was painful. He just frowned and continued on, while I frequently interjected that I was in pain and confused because I wasn't getting work done. When he finished I sat up and declared that it was the most painful cleaning I've ever gotten and he just LAUGHED it off. When I got out to my car, I noticed he not only cleaned around my teeth/removed plaque, but seriously SCRATCHED OUT MY GUMS around my teeth as well. I figured I might just be being dramatic, but have a family friend who is a dentist and he confirmed that, yes, I lost a good deal of my gums that day. DO NOT GO HERE. It is one thing to be a new dentist and not always realize you're hurting someone when you're in a rush, but it is another thing to completely ignore someone when they tell you that they're in pain. read more

We do not recommend. My husband and I went here when we first moved to Naperville. They don't care about if you are in pain. They are all about getting the job done quick. It is nice to not be in the office forever, but at what cost. The doctor is very nice but doesn't go out of his way to answer your questions or concerns. We unfortunately lost our insurance benefits about a year ago and this is one of the few area dentists that would accept our state insurance. I have brought my children here twice now. Our first visit was not stellar but acceptable. I felt they barely cleaned their teeth and rushed them through. This second time was horrific for my younger daughter. The hygienist was down right mean to my 6 year old. My daughter was very nervous and she did nothing but verbally berate her for not taking care of her teeth. My daughter was very nervous about them cleaning around a very loose tooth. And she kept taunting her, saying she was going to pluck it right out. The dentist finally had to tell her to leave her be. This woman was so incredibly rude and did nothing but scare my child. She should never be allowed to work with small children with an attitude like hers. After all that, they referred me to a pediatric dentist saying that my daughter squirmed too much for them to work on her. I will never go here again. And by all means, do not subject your children to these people unless you want your kids terrified of going to the dentist. I ended up taking my kids to my regular family dentist for a consultation and after being told at Ashton Dental that my one daughter had 3 cavities and the other child had four cavities, turns out that NEITHER of my kids have any cavities!!!! So glad I got the second opinion at a REAL dentist. read more

I started going to Aston Dental about two years ago and was treated kindly and respectfully, but about three months ago new staff was put in place and they are horrible. They are rude and judgmental. I felt belittle while they got off on whatever power trip the lower staff members got off on. The DDS was pleasant and truly feel sorry for the employee's she has to put up with. read more

I WAS IN DEEP PAIN!!!...the people didn't care that after my cleaning I was in urgent pain...I had a simple cleaning and the dentist used this new tool on my mouth that was electric to take out plaque. After I was done he told me I had 4 cavities. So, I made two appointments to remove the cavities. Before the first appointment, I was in PAIN! I couldn't eat for days before the cavity removal. He took out two cavities and when he was done, the filling was uneven! My bite was overlapped! A couple days later, excess filling came out of my mouth and I told the doctor when I went to my second appointment, but he just said to come back to fix it because he was busy (and in a hurry not to mention). HE WAS TAKING CARE OF 4 PATIENTS AT ONCE!!!! Including me! He took two cavities out in less than 28 min!!!! Jesus!!! 6 months have passed, and I am still in pain up to this day!!! It's hard to eat, sleep, and talk!!!!...my teeth ache in despair! read more
