This entire experience was just awesome. First thing to note - they open at 10AM which is one of…read morethe earliest I could find. I wanted to go before the church crowd let out. You pull up and there is ample parking right outside the farm. We were greeted by one of the Wilson's children (added that nice family feel) where we purchased admission. $10- they take cash, card and Venmo. From there you have fresh kettle corn being cooked and bagged, and a nice size area to purchase pumpkins and other goodies. You can hop on the tractor and take a ride around some of the property or they also had a little 'train' for the kids - super cute. The corn maze is straight back from the entrance - it's huge and you can get lost - take note of the aerial photo at the entrance . When you come out, if you start to head back where you came, you'll see a wildflower path up ahead, was a nice stroll up through there, and wraps you back around to another pumpkin patch. That's where the 'action' takes place... cannon and slingshot action! Here you can pay for a slingshot or cannon experience; we did both. Slingshot was fun, mini pumpkins - $1 for 2 shots and you totally get that 'pull back far far far sitting on the ground experience' - loved it! The cannon - well- I loved the power in between my hands!! That sucker shot a NICE distance. This was $2/shot or $5 for 3. Well worth it!!! We didn't carry cash on us, so after grabbing a wagon/cart up front (there a few to use - or bring your own!) we grabbed a variety of pumpkins in the field - ghost, green, orange, etc... then we ended up paying for the cannon experience when we purchased the pumpkins. Things to note: Bathrooms on site, cards accepted, pumpkin patch, kettle corn, tractor rides, cannon and slingshot, corn maze, 'train' for the kids. I spotted some fire pits, might be able to use those as well, just ask! We spoke with Lynn (Mrs. Wilson) and learned all about the farm. She and her family really put their heart into this and you can tell. This farm has been in Mr. Wilson's family since the 1800s!! Cannot say enough good things about this Farm and how kind the entire Wilson family is. Bring the family, go with friends, fly solo - whatever, just do it!

So I went looking for a CSA - community-supported agriculture - meat share. The search lead me to Caney Fork Farms. Boy, am I glad I signed up!! So a full share runs you $100 a month roughly. This is all organic fresh butchered meats from their farms. The taste is simply unbeatable! If you live in Murfreesboro, the closest pick up is at Smith and Lentz Brewery in Nashville once a month. Not too bad, really, for what you get!! The shares vary in meats and you can set preferences at the start. Plus, the weekend before your Tuesday pick up time, you can customize your share based on availability. You can even get extras - I got fresh local honey and focaccia bread this last time! I have had roasts, steaks, pork chops, ribs, bacon, Canadian bacon, sausage links and patties, and even bratwurst! The flavours are unlike anything you can get at a grocery store. Once you try the fresh bacon, you won't want grocery store again!! A full share goes a long way for the two of us. Family of four would need more, in my honest opinion. Nevertheless, the share is worth it to me for the freshness and flavour!! Shares go by the season, so if you do one season, you can skip out of the next if you wish. The staff is super nice, too! Buying a share from BBF was probably the best decision I made this past Spring. My boyfriend and I went with the half-bushel for summer which we pick up every other week at the 12South Farmers Market. I love that they offer a payment plan, you commit to paying the whole price but they automatically deduct it from your bank account over a period of months to help split it up. We have not been disappointed with any delivery. The produce is ridiculously fresh and very clean. Another word that comes to mind is variety: kohlrabi, greens, beets, cauliflower, green beans, leaks, green onions, eggplants, kale, fresh herbs, peppers, cucumbers, carrots, radishes, rainbow chard, zucchini, hot peppers, potatoes, tomatoes, bok choy, lettuces, squash, garlic, and the best strawberries ever! We have friends who also get the 1/2 bushel on the opposite week to us and it's sooo much fun to compare and talk recipes. Our friends were able to go to the farm tour and said the farm itself is gorgeous. I guess they have a natural spring too which can make a big difference to how produce tastes, it's also all certified organic - Sweet! The family is very communicative via email about how things are going down on the farm, although this year has been a challenge for them since it's been so cool and wet, they let us know what's going on and they don't ever sound desperate or upset. That's what has been the most important thing to me, their honesty and communication. Some weeks our bushel is rather meek, but they make up for it the next week with extras. Their website is very descriptive and provides a lot of information about how CSAs work and how they run the farm. The older kids run the market table at 12South and they are sun kissed, beautiful and so friendly and welcoming. Seriously I feel like this families outlook, dedication, and warmth make the produce that much more wonderful! Can't wait to sign up for their Winter CSA soon!

The fruits and vegetables are organic. The selection of healthy food that shows up in our box each week is wonderful. From carrots, spinach, onions, green peppers, to interesting vegetables like kohlrabi. The price for a share is very reasonable. The summer share is 18 weeks long and they also have an Autumn share my family participates in (squash, sweet potatoes, greens, etc) . They make deliveries in and near Franklin and also in Nashville and are always looking for new drop off locations. And Judy and John (the owners)! Kudos!! As a milk purist, it's a perversion of the simplicity and purity of fresh, delicious milk. All that changed when someone convinced me to try the chocolate milk at the Hatcher Dairy. WOW!!!!!!!!!! They said it would be amazing, they said it would be perfection, they said I would get addicted. They were right!!!! I don't even really like chocolate itself (I know, I'm the only human being who has ever said this). Unless it's white chocolate, or mixed with a lot of other ingredients, it's too strong and bitter for my taste. But despite my distaste for chocolate, this chocolate milk is so amazing that I think about it daily!!! I don't know what they put in it, but this is certainly the best chocolate milk in the world!!!
