I do not know where to even begin, but the beginning will be a good start. We got engaged in May 2023 and my family wanted us to have our Nikkah ceremony right away. Somehow we landed on October 2023. I always knew that I wanted an outdoor garden ceremony and thought I can do this all on my own. The picture was even more complicated because the Nikkah ceremony was going to be in Los Angeles and live in Michigan Fast forward to August 2023, when I started to panic because I quickly realized that I can't do this on my own. I reached out to various vendors and just didn't feel satisfied after our meetings. How do you trust someone with making your dream a reality when you can't meet them face to face? I don't have much of a social media presence, but I heard about Kismet through friends. We had our zoom meeting with Saadia and Sara on August 17 and I immediately knew we needed to go with Kismet. Saadia took my vision and ran! Creating something that went beyond my dreams and expectations. The planning was seamless even with me living thousand miles away. And they did it in less than two months!!! One moment that stuck out in particular was how they handled a "crisis". One week before the ceremony, Saadia called me to tell me they were having difficulty getting the wooden cross back chairs that I had wanted . Deep down I was dying inside and holding back tears because I didn't want to compromise our vision, BUT I didn't want to cause issues. So I gave my best effort in brushing it off. Saadia calls me about 30 minutes later telling me she heard the disappointment in my voice (clearly I failed haha) and had reached out to other vendors and was able to find them. She didn't have to do this, but she did. They went above and beyond to make our day a very special one. Loved working with this team for our wedding (April '24 in SoCal). Our wedding planner has a great relationship with Kismet and we're so happy they did our decor. The kismet team came up with a wonderful theme in partnership with our planner for our pre-wedding event (Santorini vibes), made our acrylic mandap vision come to life at the wedding, and had the perfect reception set up for us (elegance meets grandeur). My husband and I were fairly hands off when it came to specific decor visions, etc. and so seeing kismet bring their design ideas along the way and eventually bring it to life the weekend of the wedding was incredible. They were respectful of our budget asks and the whole family was thrilled with the end product. Overall we had a really nice time working with this team. We initially engaged in discussions with Kismet in January 2023 for our wedding in May 2023. After multiple design calls with them we were in the process of trying to negotiate the contract with them to cut down some of the items due to budget concerns when our coordinator was ghosted by kismet for a week. Saadia later informed our coordinator that they booked another event for our wedding day and were no longer available. While it is understandable that they went with the first party to sign the contract, you would expect some level of transparency here--we were never informed about an other potential event otherwise we would have signed the contract earlier. We were also never told that someone else had inquired about our date at anytime (before or during the planning phase). Saadia is very talented and has great ideas but if you choose to work with kismet, you should sign the contract asap because they may just leave you high and dry without any notice. P.S. We tried asking for some of the rough sketches we worked on during our design calls and they wanted $1,000 for this. read more

Kismet was in charge of my bridal shower and mehndi decor and venue! They definitely outdid themselves on both occasions! As soon as I walked into my bridal shower venue, I could not believe my eyes! I was absolutely stunned... They had converted the venue into a magical garden with flowers, draped all over the back wall, down the tables and to the ground! AMAZING. Love these ladies. Thank you so much Amana & Saadia for all your patience through this process, I was out-of-state so they had to work with my parents mostly, and I'm sure that wasn't easy. They did both my mehndi and wedding events in late April. All 3 of my stages (indoor mehendi, outdoor wedding, and indoor wedding reception) were gorgeous. I'm so thankful they helped talk me through design ideas for the indoor and outdoor stages; everything came together beautifully. They had great suggestions and knew exactly what indian parents want. When Amaana was out of town, Saadia answered all my questions and helped me with a few last minute changes. I felt they both had a lot of experience and great organizational skills. Flower arrangements were great, and I wish I knew more about florals to give more of my own input on them, but kismet did great on their own. Amana did a great job with decor for my sister's wedding in 2012 (and wedding planning, but they don't do this anymore) --- I pretty young then so I didn't know much back then. Ever since I attended a wedding with Kismet decor in 2013, I knew I wanted them to do my wedding decor whenever the time came. I reached out early 2019 and worked with Aatika who was a phenomenal listener and paid close attention to the ideas I had (even though I was all over the place at the time) and helped me come up with a vision. Then when she had to go on maternity leave, Saadia took over and ran with the ideas we had come up with adding her own flavor to the mix. Needless to say, she is a master visionary. She would do numerous sketches for us and helped us imagine the design she envisioned until we were satisfied (and when I say we, I mean my mother). even though I had seen the sketches and gone in for a sample meeting, on the day of, I was floored with the result. I walked in on my mehndi day and couldn't believe it was MY wedding event. In that moment I remembered why I had decided, and I was certain 6 years in advance, that I was going to have Kismet design my wedding. My wedding reception a couple days later was also nothing less than a fairytale - a floral encompassed stage with gates leading in. Kismet planned my wedding almost 2 months ago and I must say their work was superb. They went above and beyond what I expected and helped me bring the wedding I had always dreamed of to life. The team was extremely attentive and listened to what I envisioned and provided great suggestions along the way. Our flowers were simply breathtaking, the table setting with the flowers and the charges that we selected (for extra cost) magnified the regal feel of our ballroom at the Nixon Library. But, my favorite part of the entire setup was our sweetheart table and the stage. Kismet created the most spectacular design I have ever seen. My mother-in-law and Saadia surprised me with a table flowing with white orchids left and right, above and below. It was whimsical to say the least. It was truly art. While I was getting ready, Kaylee came and brought my bridal bouquet. Our wedding was in February 2019 and because we were working with a smaller budget, weren't sure whether a full design service would be possible. I am a wedding snob, I admit it. I wanted to out-do and over-do all the other events I've been to over the years. For my wedding, I wanted nothing but the ABSOLUTE BEST. I knew exactly where to go- Kismet Event Planning and Design. Saadia was very attentive, heard me out, listened to what I dreamed of, and made it a reality. I am not good at explaining all the stuff going on in my head - but she understood what I wanted and brought my dreams to life. People till this day STILL talk about my wedding - and it feels really good to know that my wedding made a lasting impression on my guests. :) She purchased and installed beautiful chandeliers in places that I felt were bare, she installed curtains of diamonds and crystals, she flew in peonies from Amsterdam (which were out of season here in the US), she flew in special roses from South America; Kismet created a romantic and fantasmic (better than Disneyland!) event for me and my hubby. It was breathtaking. Quality does come with a price. Saadia is not the cheap Indian Aunty doing this from her garage (sorry Aunty's!) Kismet is a full on production company. Their team handles EVERYTHING from lighting, flowers, coordination, stages, locations, music, etc etc. There is no detail left unnoticed. One important thing to know - Kismet gets booked months if not years in advance. They are very selective now on what events to do each year and do not take every bride that comes their way. There are a limited # of weekends in a year, and it's just not possible to do every event that comes their way. So plan ahead and secure them first. Kismet's team leads the pack. Other coordinators and companies copy her designs and do not do them justice. I have seen MY wedding replicated more than a few times by OTHER OC/LA planners (ahem, won't name any names - but you know who you are!) It's a compliment to Saadia's work, since Saadia always does it best and is always first. If you want your event to stand out, and for it to be a one of a kind event - go to Kismet. We hired them for wedding and reception planning. They were not upto standards. Infect very bellow industry standards for renting a wedding chairs for bride and groom . We can buy a better chairs in the amount they charged rent . All four chairs were chipped wood and cracked some place. They were faded and color damaged.
