Over the next two years of planning, Abby and her team brought our ideas to life and helped to make our dream wedding a reality. Design: We told Abby we wanted an "East Meets West" theme that blended our cultures in a way that felt modern and elegant, a tough balance that could've easily come off as cheesy in if executed poorly. But Abby nailed it of course, her design sense is unreal. From color palettes and floral choices to the way she tied together modern décor with cultural elements, everything was cohesive and elevated. She has an incredible eye for detail and always found creative, out-of-the-box ways to make our ideas work. The end result was a wedding that felt truly felt like us! Communication: Throughout the entire process, Abby and her team were consistently on top of communication. She kept us updated between meetings, sent friendly reminders, and made sure we were always aligned on next steps. It's easy for things to slip through the cracks when planning something this big, but Abby kept everything organized and stress-free. We never once felt out of the loop, she was always calm, professional, and genuinely fun to talk to. Vendor Management: Abby's vendor management skills are next level. She has deep connections and knows everyone in the wedding world. When we needed vendors for flowers, desserts, or décor, she already had a curated list of the best options with pros and cons ready for us. Some of our vendors were booked more than a year in advance, but Abby and her team were always on top of follow-ups, contracts, and logistics. By the time the big day arrived, every vendor was perfectly coordinated. It really felt like we had assembled the Avengers of wedding vendors! Working Style: We can't say enough about how enjoyable it was to work with Abby and her team. They're so friendly, positive, and genuinely care about their couples. You can tell they love what they do and that they actually enjoy working together - it felt like they were more of friends than coworkers. Whenever unexpected hiccups came up (and they always do in wedding planning), Abby handled them with grace and a sense of humor. She's done hundreds of weddings, so she always had the experience to guide us to make informed decisions. It was so fun working with the entire team and it made the stressful process of wedding planning feel less stressful. Execution: This is where Abby and her team truly shine. Planning is one thing, but executing flawlessly is another and they did it all seamlessly. From coordinating vendors to keeping our timeline on track, they were everywhere and nowhere all at once, putting out fires behind the scenes before we even knew they existed. The day flowed perfectly. At the end of the night, we were blown away to see how they had already packed up all our belongings, made sure our ride was ready, and tied up every little loose end without us lifting a finger. That level of thoughtfulness really showed how much they care. Budget & Financial Management: The truth is weddings are expensive, and it's easy for costs to spiral if you're not careful. Abby was phenomenal at keeping everything organized and transparent. She tracked every expense, set reminders for upcoming milestone payments for vendors, and even handled tipping for all our vendors so we didn't have to stress about it on the big day. What really stood out was her honesty and foresight -- anytime a decision could push us beyond our budget, she proactively flagged it and walked us through the financial trade-offs before we committed. Thanks to her meticulous tracking and planning, there were zero surprises at the end. Everything was clearly outlined and accounted for, which gave us complete peace of mind. She showed genuine care and interest from the get go and we knew we were in good hands. As someone who is a little more Type A (bride) when it comes to organization and planning, it was over whelming trying to consider how to plan the biggest day of our lives. Maria went above and beyond and took any ounce of stress away. She helped us pick our vendor team early on into the planning process, allowing us to find people who matched our energy. What seemed to be so daunting became some of the easiest decisions to make. Throughout the year, Maria checked in with us to make sure things were okay. She looked over our contracts and helped us plan the next steps whether it was food tasting, floral meetings, making a design deck, or buying a cake just for a photo. Monthly chats quickly turned into weekly chats as we got closer to the big day. Maria ensured every little detail was covered asking us questions about our bridal party, songs we wanted to be played, table greetings, and thank you cards. Before the day of our wedding, she sent us a checklist of items to give her to help take the added weight off our shoulders so we can enjoy our day. What we thought was already an above and beyond was nothing near the day of experience. Maria and her team could not have planned a better timeline for us and our loved ones. Maria took charge handling all our vendors while her assistants Cat and Chelsea ensured we were okay and our bridal party was set and ready to go. Everything was seamless as they took care of little things such as ensuring we had food to eat, water to drink, and a moment to breathe. When we had some last minute changes such as changed meals or guest coming and going, they handled it with ease. Many of our guest raved about our vendors and how amazing the day was, but it couldn't have happened without Maria and her team. Our closest loved ones who knew Maria was our planner couldn't stop complimenting how on top of it she was the whole day, and we couldn't agree more. Maria is not only a planner but she becomes your friend. She takes genuine interest in you and makes you feel on top of the world. Although…read moreHeather communicated very well, there were a couple of incidents that I found slightly unprofessional: 1. I signed a contract with one of her staff as my wedding planner. Unfortunately, from my understanding, there were unexpected changes in the company, so Heather had to take over. However, Heather responded that she would make an exception for me and not charge me an additional $1000 for this change. With all due respect, I should not be financially penalized for changes that an owner experiences; especially since I already signed the contract that I financially agreed to. 2. I encountered a lot of life changes that disrupted my ability to move forward with a wedding that my brothers were supposed to be in. For instance, I had a depressed, suicidal brother, I had another brother leave for Japan for the Marines, and I had an uncle pass away. All vendors except for Heather were so kind to fully refund my deposits due to the situation. Unfortunately, Heather responded that she was still a businesswoman and was financially hurting, so she was in no place to offer a full refund. I basically paid Heather almost $500 to establish a simple contract. I already had all the vendors in place and organized, so this deposit was for nothing. Heather should not be held responsible for unexpected circumstances, but this wedding meant a lot to me. As a business owner, you should be able to compromise with your clients based on their situation. I could have easily used that deposit to help my family for the funeral. I find this situation absurd because I never wanted a wedding planner to begin with. Our wedding list was only 32 guests, but my fiancé insisted that we hire a planner because he did not want me to stress out. I admire him for caring, but this wedding was going to be a private and intimate event with very little management. I blame myself for hiring a wedding planner when I did not need one. It is unfortunate that Heather was thinking like a businesswoman and not a human being with empathy. Nonetheless, please make sure to ask about the refund policy for emergencies such as death, health, etc. Two stars are for her communication, but I can only evaluate Heather based on my experience with her before the wedding date. Therefore, I am unable to provide feedback for her day service since my wedding never happened. Has it ever occurred to you, Heather, that you had not heard from me in a year because I was busy dealing with other important things like planning a funeral? My wedding was the last thing on my mind. Also, I was not complaining about the charge that never happened, I am complaining about your response to your changes. There was no need to comment on that you are more expensive and won't be charging me. We could have proceeded forward with whatever it was we were doing. You contacted ONE venue and that is because they had YOU sign a contract with them. FYI, my pre-engagement photos were scheduled with the photographer I hired for my wedding and I was still refunded the full amount. This vendor did not work for free either and still managed to prioritize customer service over money. You are a business owner and have the liberty to do as you please, but you must have needed the money more than I did, so I hope my contributions helped your business. Nonetheless, well done on your communication. If you have a family member with a life-threatening illness or you have a medical condition that may require potential hospitalization, please do not hire Heather as your wedding planner as she will not refund you the deposit because not make exceptions for your situation simply because she does not "work for free." We got married in Casa Romantica in San Clemente. However, we were living far away in San Jose in the year building up to the wedding. We also had a baby and were enduring the covid pandemic throughout the wedding planning year. Despite all this, Katherine made everything a breeze. Most of the "work" we had to do was make multiple-choice type decisions where she presented us with options (like: picking dj, food, flowers, decor, cake, etc). For fuzzier things like vows and ceremony script, she gave us lots of advice and guidance. Since we were remote, we could only afford a couple trips to arrange wedding details in person. Katherine greatly accommodated our special situation: for a couple weekend visits, she packed our schedule to be super productive and get most in-person things done at once. On the techie side, she is extremely organized with spreadsheets for timelines, guest management, budgets, etc. She was very responsive and focused in email threads. She also easily handled any task involving invites online, wedding websites, registry etc. As I work in the tech industry, I feel like Katherine is like the kind of product manager you dream of working with. On the personal side, Katherine is very low-key, never exerted her influence or opinion, and always had a cheerful attitude. She would mostly listen to us try to reason decisions out, and offer any insights or details we might not have thought of. We really felt like we owned the decision-making process and made the wedding to our own taste. We, with our families, are now scrolling through wedding photos with joy. When I embarked on this journey to find a wedding planner, I carefully went through multiple interviews and phone calls, before I selected Vidhi. I only had 8 months to plan, so I really wanted someone who could help execute a seamless, beautiful, and elegant event. I had luckily already secured the venue by the time I had hired Vidhi, and I had already had some vendor contacts from helping plan my brother's wedding a few years ago, but she also had ample recommendations based on what we were looking for. I really appreciated Vidhi's detail oriented nature, with minute by minute timelines, lists, and collaboration on airtable--especailly while planning a multi-event wedding. We were so lucky to get blessed with perfect weather for an outdoor Sikh wedding. Vidhi and her team were instrumental in making sure everything went smoothly on the day(s) of--so I didn't have to, and constantly checking in with me. She held her ground and ensured that we stayed close to the timeline and flow that we had carefully laid out, and played the bad guy when she needed to. Jessica, my wedding attendant, was a lifesaver and was with me every step of the day to cater to my every need and whim; I highly recommend having a wedding attendant, as sometimes you are left alone to wait and it's nice to have someone with you as company and to direct you to where you go next. Any event that you plan, particularly a wedding, will never go exactly to plan, but we got pretty darn close, and I thank Vidhi and The Marigold Company Team for making our vision and dreams come true. My only piece of advice would be to really understand their different wedding planning packages, before selecting one. Obviously, you can always upgrade to a higher package, but it can be a little off-putting to expect a wedding planner to handle something and in turn be told it's not included in your current package. read more

We truly couldn't have asked for a better planning team for our wedding than Vidhi and the rest of the The Marigold Company. From the very beginning through the wedding weekend, they were incredibly organized, responsive, and on top of every detail, especially in regards to budget, vendors, and timeline management. After spending a year planning, it was so rewarding to see everything we had envisioned come to life. Throughout the weekend, the team handled everything seamlessly behind the scenes, allowing us and our families to be fully present and enjoy every moment without worrying about logistics. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were taking care of everything and handling issues that came up without us even knowing. A special thank you to our lead planner, Vidhi, whose organization and attention to detail made the entire process feel so manageable, as well as Waverly and Bella who were onsite to support in this. My bridal attendant Liv went above and beyond all weekend; she was always there when I needed her, anticipated things before I even had to ask, and made me feel so supported throughout the day. Vidhi and the rest of the team at the Marigold Company were AMAZING !!!! I didn't realize how much effort went into planning my wedding, until I saw and experienced it on my special day. Vidhi helped me right from day 1 with making my vision come to life. She knew all of the right vendors, took care of the pricing, and made sure everyone and everything was perfectly in place throughout my wedding weekend. The team was always accessible and there wasn't anything too big or too small that they were not able to help with. Vidhi even created our wedding website for us, that we were able to share with all of our guests that included all of our wedding information and even allowed them to RSVP. Thank you Vidhi & the Marigold Company for taking care of my dream wedding. We spent almost 14 months planning our wedding, and towards the end we were getting overwhelmed and knew we needed a coordinator to make sure our big day goes smoothly. We hired Vidhi when we had 3 months left before our wedding from the moment she took over it finally felt like we could actually enjoy the remainder of our engagement and knew our wedding would be in good hands. She helped us take care of the vendors we were having issues with and made sure we stuck to our budget. She created a timeline of for the entire wedding that was detailed right down to the minute. Indian weddings are multi-day affairs with several separate events. Coupled with that, our son-in-law comes from a Mexican heritage. The EE team took all of these into account to visualize and implement a memorable, once-in-a-lifetime experience for us and all of our guests at a beautiful venue, the Hyatt Regency Resort in Huntington Beach, CA. Their services included complete event planning and timeline orchestration, coordination of multiple wedding components, including, specific location/venue selection and decoration for each event, Hindu priest for the wedding, bridal party hair & make-up, DJ & Lighting, Groom's horse and dhol (drum) player for the "baraat", catering for multiple events including "Chai Time", Appetizers & Dinners for Sangeet and the Reception, shuttle service between 2 guest hotels and wedding venue, etc. Many of these activities were implemented using different vendors, but EE had a ready list of tried and tested vendors for each, and they handled the actual negotiations on our behalf. Each event venue was very creatively conceptualized with Indian & Mexican elements and masterfully executed to create a lovely ambience. Smita's background and experience in design was amply on display! The DJ did a super job in getting everyone to get off their feet and join in the fun. The caterer, Manohar of Delhi Palace, served up a delicious cornucopia of appetizers and entrees that included items featuring Mexican, North Indian and Bengali flavors. EE helped us to refine the fusion menu that included items such as churros, kulfi-faluda, 3 types of halwa, paneer & lamb tacos, avocado fries, variety of kababs, luchi-kosha mangsho-dum aloo, etc. I would like specially recognize our event planner, Jennifer, who did a masterful job guiding us over a 15 month period planning our event and managing all day-of activities. She was ably assisted by the EE team, including Rippu, Neha, Priya and others. The EE proactiveness and attention to detail was really awesome. Case in point: I fell accidentally on the night before Sangeet and was hospitalized. They set up a livestream so that I could watch it from my hospital room. Next day, I got released in a wheel chair/walker so I could participate in the ceremony, and they had a ramp built to get on the wedding "mandap"! All without us asking. All said and done, we are very happy with all that EE did for us and would whole-heartedly recommend them to anyone considering an experienced event management team who can deliver memorable experience.

I would not recommend Events by Sepali to Satan himself…read more This review is based entirely on my personal experience as a paying client for our May 2025 wedding. I'm sharing it so other couples, especially in the South Asian community, can make an informed decision before trusting this vendor with one of the most important days of their lives. THE SHORT VERSION - If your goal is to: Set your (and your family's) hard-earned wedding savings on fire Add massive stress, confusion, and chaos to what should be a joyful planning process Scramble at the last minute to save your own wedding from someone you paid to help ...then by all means, book Events by Sepali. For everyone else: RUN. TIMELINE & ENGAGEMENT We reached out in early 2025 for day-of coordination for our May wedding. We had already secured our venue and vendors. All we needed was a professional coordinator to pull everything together, manage logistics, and keep the timeline on track. Instead, we got: "Planning calls" that were often late, missed, or rescheduled and NEVER actually productive or involved any planning. Excuses instead of accountability. No clear structure, no detailed plan, and no confidence that anything was actually getting done. UNPRODUCTIVE PLANNING & NO DELIVERABLES Whenever we asked for something concrete, like a finalized timeline or vendor coordination details, we were: Given "homework" that felt like busywork, not meaningful progress Asked for things that weren't urgent priorities Left feeling less confident after each interaction MONTHS went by with: No real timeline No confirmed day-of plan No introductions to any "team" members that were kept being referenced No vendor calls or proactive coordination TWO WEEKS OUT: CRISIS Less than two weeks before our wedding: No vendor introductions (because they were never contacted) No communication with our full vendor team No confirmed day-of staff (because there was no staff) After I privately and respectfully raised serious concerns, we were told that, after an internal "team discussion," it would be best for her to remove herself from our wedding and issue a full refund. This decision came DAYS before our events. THE REFUND THAT NEVER HAPPENED (IN FULL) What followed over the next six months was: Delays and excuses A strange "$1 test" Zelle payment instead of promptly issuing the actual refund Repeated promises with no meaningful follow-through As of writing this review, we still have not received the full refund she agreed to provide. In my opinion, walking away at the eleventh hour and then failing to honor that commitment shows a serious lack of professionalism and integrity. INDUSTRY & COMMUNITY FEEDBACK After this experience, we spoke with other vendors and former clients and heard similar stories: Overpromising and under-delivering Last-minute chaos "Sepali is always the last vendor in, first vendor out" Reliance on loosely assembled, ad hoc help instead of a consistent, trained team We also learned some vendors are hesitant to speak publicly because they rely on referrals. That alone is telling. From our vantage point, the "team" did not appear to be a stable professional staff. We heard about freelancers and even requests to "borrow" staff from other vendors, completely misaligned with what you expect when hiring a professional coordinator for your wedding. THE REAL COST Because of this situation: We had to scramble and hire new, unvetted coordinators, communicate with vendors, and hastily put together a timeline at the last minute at a higher cost. In fact our total costs for the wedding went by 30%, AT LEAST, due to Sepali's action's alone. We endured completely avoidable stress in the days leading up to our events We lost both time and money dealing with someone who, in our experience, did not deliver on promises and did not resolve the situation appropriately And based on my personal experience, think very carefully before trusting this vendor with your wedding We trusted her with our day. She exited at the last minute, did not make things right, and left us to fix the damage ourselves. Couples deserve better. Families deserve better. Your wedding is too important to risk. FINAL VERDICT If you are considering Events by Sepali: Just dont, stop and walk - RUN. You are better off letting an intern or high school volunteer use your big day as a capstone project for free. People like Sepali that cause this much pain to a newly married couple deserve to burn in the reddest fire in hell.

We felt that the team genuinely cared and was willing to step in anywhere needed to ensure we had a memorable day which helped put us at ease. It was great to have someone coordinate with our vendors the month of so that we could focus on all the other little details. On wedding day, Giselle and her team handled everything and communicated with all the vendors so that we could just focus on enjoying ourselves. Mili, Neema, Sonal, and the whole Planning Elegance team are truly exceptional. To say Indian weddings are complicated, is an understatement. On top of that, Mili's team helped us plan 6 events in 3 days, at 3 different venues with guest counts from 200-800. My actual wedding and reception were held at the Long Beach Performing Arts Center Terrace Theater, a very far from typical choice for a wedding venue. However, we chose it because we wanted to utilize the space in a unique way - something that had never been done before. We spent many meetings and site visits with Mili to evolve our concept and the many logistics that came with it. It was challenging to say the least, but with Mili and her team's experience, knowledge, and attention to detail, we watched our vision come to life. Both mine, and my husband's immediate families were heavily involved in the planning process. That means 4 parents, 4 siblings, 2 grandmothers, and a bride and a groom, yet Mili and her team found a way to incorporate everyone's ideas, suggestions, and wishes. Yes, a wedding is about the couple, but for Indian weddings, it's also about the family. You can tell Planning Elegance's team truly understands this because the entire weekend both families were constantly checked up on and offered food, water, and any other assistance they needed. Mili and her team go above and beyond to take care of not just the couple, but their families and guests. All 6 of our events started and ended on time, (some even ahead of schedule), which meant a lot to our guests who weren't left sitting and waiting, and in turn felt that we valued their company and time. She did all of this while maintaining her pleasant demeanor and shared her abundance of knowledge in wedding planning and events...well, I can go on and on, but to say Amy was a great addition to my vendors would be an understatement. She went above and beyond what I expected and handled every situation with finesse. Both families as well as myself and my groom were so happy with her and will recommend her to others without hesitation. She made the days up to the wedding run smoothly and the grand event go on without any hiccups.
