I threw the $100 cake in the trash. It was tasteless. To give you an idea how bad, I always joke if something has sugar and fat, im gonna eat it...I have NEVER in my life thrown away even a serving of HEB cake, much less a $100 9-inch cake. Don't be fooled by the website photos...sure they look pretty but a cake from a bakery should wow me, not end up in the trash. I'd have to say that I wouldn't recommend Kiss my Cakes to friends. I love going local and am proud to support local businesses. With the great reviews, I'd thought this would be a home run. Ordered a cake for my mom's birthday. I'll say the cake looked good. However, it was as dry as the desert and crumbled to pieces upon cutting. Honestly, you could get a better product at HEB. We had a meeting at work today and these cupcakes were brought in. I'm not exaggerating even a little bit when I say the raspberry cupcake was literally the best cupcake I've ever had. I didn't try the others, but my coworkers all devoured theirs so I assume they were just as delicious. read more

We were most displeased with the graduation cake we purchased. I would give the experience a one-star rating, but I will say that Kelley was very nice and agreed to handle our order with only a week's notice. However, the product we received for $200 was not what we had hoped for. I told Kelley we were transporting the cake to College Station. She said she thought it would be fine as long as the driver was careful. Also, she stated that it didn't need to be refrigerated since we were eating it the day after we picked up (we couldn't pick up the day of the party because they didn't open until 10:00AM and we had to be in CS by 11:00). Before we even left Austin the cake began to collapse on the right side. Something was not designed properly it appears. (The cake had been inside a cooled home since being picked up from the bakery.) By the time we arrived in College Station, it was a mess. We ended up having to cut the cake up prior to the party because it looked terrible. And then it got worse, because the frosting on the sides literally fell off the cake as we tried to cut it. There was no way to even make the pieces look presentable because the cake just fell apart. The pieces ended up being cake and zero frosting. As for taste, we got mixed reviews from our party guests. They loved the top layer - which was strawberry. Kelley had said it was the most popular, and it indeed tasted amazing. The bottom layer was chocolate, and did not go over well. The problem was not the taste, but instead the cake was very dry (perhaps because we had to precut pieces since the cake fell apart). Finally, we supposedly paid extra for the dipped strawberries ($20 I believe). The picture we were sent by Kelley as an example of what she would do had dipped strawberries surrounding the entire base of the cake. It came to us with only 6 dipped strawberries for some reason. So, overall a horrible experience because we didn't even get to display the cake at the graduation party. It was very disappointing. For $200 we just expected a better product. The cake did look great when we picked it up, however. So...if you don't have to transport a cake anywhere, and can refrigerate it or eat it quickly, Kiss My Cakes may be an okay option. And take Kelley's advice - the strawberry cake was amazing. read more

Paid an astronomical amount for a custom cake that turned out it could have come from the grocery store. The owner didn't do as I asked and instead of drawing the design on the cake with icing took the easy way out and used a paper edible picture. Was so disappointed with the result but had to use it as the party was in half an hour from pick up time. Cake tasted good but not great for a $150 (for an 11x14 inch cake)! Hello Everyone, My family had the absolute best experience with Kelly owner of Kiss my Cakes. I called over 30 bakeries in and around Austin and was rejected by each one due to so many weddings. I wanted to give up trying to get a large cake and 24 smaller cakes to celebrate my Mom's 90th birthday party and Kelly at Kiss my Cakes answered the phone . She said she was busy as well but she would take and complete my order. Wow Kiss my Cakes came through with the most beautiful cake for Mom and 24 more cakes for all of the guests. We had chocolate, red velvet, pumpkin and lemon for my order. They all came out perfect. The carrot cake for Mom was the best ever. Nobody makes a cake this good anywhere. I chose one of everything in the case! My favorite from that day was a pineapple upside down cupcake! I just ordered a pecan pie today and she was the first person I thought of when I told my boss I would bring a dessert to my pot luck tomorrow. First and last time to order a cake here. Went in 2 weeks before I needed the cake - gave them all the information regarding the cake including the date and time for pickup. Paid for the cake upfront. Went to pick up the cake today and they had forgotten to make it. They said they could get it done in time for the event, but I would have to come back up to pick it up 30 minutes before I had a house full of people. When I asked about a discount for the inconvenience of it all, I was told she would give me a $10 GC for a future purchase. I said that I wanted a credit on the order and in addition I said I was not given the 20% discount offered at the time I placed the order. I was told I had to ask for it even though that is not what the FB post said. In addition, she proceeded to blame me for not confirming the pick up time and I told her that was done when I came in and placed the order. She was extremely rude and proceed to tell me she didn't need my business as I'm only one customer and didn't matter because she has plenty of customers. Such a major disappointment in this business and the way Kelly, the owner, handled a past order that had to be delayed due to Covid. I paid over $75 for a cake for my daughter's Birthday in 2020. We paid in full and we had to cancel the party due to Covid. When it was time for a true celebration this year I emailed Kelly twice with no response. After she was non-responsive to two emails I stopped into the store front. She said since I did not contact her within 6 months she would not honor the cake I had already paid for. Horrible horrible customer service!!! There are other local bakeries that deserve support and with no doubt would have honored something that had already been paid for and cancelled due to a massive National pandemic. Her only response was that she put it out on Facebook that no past orders would be honored after 6 months. Not everyone has Facebook!!! I had her do multiple cakes for me in the past and she has now lost a customer! Take your business somewhere else where you will be treated kindly. read more
