The bread at La Concha Feliz is super delicious and stays soft for days! Highly recommend this place for fresh bread.

We had gone to the paletaria down the way many times and saw the sign for this place. This time we walked over to check it out. This place is well stocked with all sorts of baked goods. They even have a dulce de leche empanada! But for those of us that are gluten-free, the only items available are the custards, jello cups and the basic flan. There are some macarons but they seem to be brought in from somewhere else. The staff was nice. The store was clean and parking was easy being in a big lot but without many gluten free things it's hard for me to need to come back alone.

I paid a visit to this location two days ago to get fresh bread and conchas. Did ya'll know: Before the Spanish arrived to Mexico in the early 1500s, Aztecs (and all native indigenous populations that lived in North America at that time) primarily ate meals consisting of corn, squash, and beans. After conquering the ancient and thriving Aztec capital of Tenochtitlan, on what is now the Mexican plateau, the Spanish established Mexico City and designed it in the model of a little Spain. And with that, not only did European architecture take the place of many Indigenous architecture, food was replaced, too.The traditional corn and tortillas that the indigenous people of Mexico City grew and ate for so long was disrupted. The increasingly present European population wanted a grain they knew from the Old World: wheat. The indigenous population at first did not desire wheat, but it wasn't until someone was seen dipping their bread in hot chocolate that others around Mexico quickly caught on and turned it into a custom. Fast forward French influence, the combination of French and Mexican technique, panaderias were formed. Such panaderias are responsible for Pan Dulce or Conchas. Class dismissed! Yelp fam, you may have guessed based upon my historical knowledge of Pan Dulce, I absolutely 'am here for' a good concha, and this place delivers. These conchas served here pair perfectly with a cup of tea or coffee (which this establishment has). These conchas have a distinctive, slightly earthy flavor. Aside from the conchas purchased here, I also purchased fresh bread and cinnamon rolls. The bread is also fresh and sweet and has a pleasant aroma even after day three of purchase. Everything purchased from this location was fresh. If in the area, this is a local shop that should not be slept on! #supportlocal

This small bakery located in a strip center on Palm Valley Boulevard in Round Rock opened its doors in August 2022. Within the small confines of this space you'll find some freshly baked Mexican pastries, breads and cookies. They also have kolache's, donuts, cold drinks and even frozen cakes. Their system is simple. You grab a metal tray and tongs and select whatever you want from the display cases and bring it to the counter. They are open from 6 AM till 8 PM every day except Sunday (when they open at 7am). This is a great spot to stop on your early morning commute to work for a bite, however, they don't have coffee. And yes, there is a tip jar or a tip screen at the end of your transaction. Plenty of photos to get you through the door.

Service is always friendly and fast. The Pan de Dulce is always fresh too. Big large pieces too. I have to control myself to avoid stopping when passing through there shop.

The audacity Story time, Today I went to the original Round Rock location, downtown Round Rock, to buy my son's birthday donuts, It's tradition. Every year on his birthday he gets a dozen half glazed and half chocolate frosted donuts. Then I get a kolache and a dozen donut holes for myself. Well when I pulled up today the line was wrapped around all the way to Mays street. So I just followed the line of cars and got in line. You'd think that a line that long would take a long time but.... Round Rock donuts has this process down to a T. It took less than 10 minutes to get through that line and get my order. And those donuts came out hot and fresh. So did my kolache. Anywho, Don't let the lines scare you away, Just jump in and know they're going to move quickly. Also, If you're planning an office event or any type of event and you want donuts and coffee or kolaches donuts and coffee, Round Rock donuts offers a great menu for large orders and also they have a cake menu for custom cake orders. If you don't want to stay in line in your car you can also park wherever you can find a spot and go to the walk-up ordering window, It's shaded and there's plenty of space to hang out while your order is being made and brought out to you. All this to say, It's a Round Rock Donut, Happy Birthday to my Son!

For years, I'd heard so much good about them; it was about time to sample their goods. Since it was a weekday and a bit later in the morning hours, the line wasn't too bad. Watching the vehicles flying through the drive-thru, I could see that these folks have it down to a science. Order after order is being handed to their customers with military precision. We got a cinnamon roll and a fritter for the road, plus 6 donuts to take back home with us. The fritter was OK, I've had better. My wife's cinnamon roll was too huge to manage. It was definitely Texas-sized. The six donuts we took home were two blueberry cake donuts, two regular raised donuts, and two filled. The filled donuts were our favorites, along with the cake and the traditional raised. We can now say we've been to the legendary Round Rock Donuts.

We've always loved the quality of their cakes and were happy to support a local business, which is why it's disappointing that we won't be able to continue using them this year. Historically, we've paid around $135 for the same style of birthday cake. This year, we were quoted $235 for essentially the same cake--a price increase of more than 70%. While I completely understand that costs have gone up and businesses have had to adjust pricing due to inflation and increased vendor costs, this level of increase feels excessive, especially for a child's birthday cake. I reached out to Diane, the owner, to better understand the significant jump in pricing. After about a week, I received a response stating that their vendors' prices had increased. While I appreciate the explanation, it doesn't change the fact that a more than 70% increase is difficult for many families to justify. This review isn't meant to criticize the quality of their work, which has always been excellent. Rather, it's to share the experience of a long-time customer who has unfortunately been priced out after years of supporting the business. It's disappointing to have to look elsewhere after so many years, but at the current pricing, we simply can't justify the cost.

I was patient until my niece was getting antsy, she finished her pastry, we both finished our mediocre coffees, still no toast... I checked and the Apple Pay time stamp went through more than 30 minutes prior. I asked staff if our toast was still coming and they replied rudely like I was being a jerk to even ask. Pagers for food when they went off were obnoxious beeping. Just give people a table number and carry it out to them. Maybe they have one little toaster and person in the back? That said once the food came, the tofu was DELICIOUS, and a large portion. We could have split it. Croissant was unimpressive as was their chocolate croissant. Macarons were tasty, but not with the signature chew that ones made with egg whites would have. $$ Two plain lattes, two lemon toasts, a chocolate croissant and 6 macarons with a $5 tip was $88. The employee was polite, very informative. It's a cute little shop, bathroom was in a separate building, not a far walk. Outside seating, in front and back of shop, vending machine with their products. Giving three stars because of how dry, possibly old the cake bites were. When I arrived, I was told the cake wasn't ready and was asked if I could come back the next morning--which obviously didn't work given the timing of the event. As a substitute, they offered me a pre-made cake from their display case and assured me it was chocolate like I originally ordered, just with a chocolate mousse filling. They refunded me $15 to account for the difference, and I felt pressured to accept since I needed something for the dinner that night. Unfortunately, the situation got worse from there. When we cut into the cake, it turned out to be confetti--not chocolate. Then, when we tried to eat it, it was clearly stale, dry, and inedible. No one touched it after the first bites. It completely missed the mark for what was supposed to be a special moment. What's especially frustrating is that I ordered from them last year for the same occasion, and everything went perfectly--that's why I trusted them again. This time, however, it was a complete letdown from start to finish. When I called the next day to request a refund, I asked to speak with a manager but was told that wasn't possible. Instead, I was told I would only be offered a partial refund because I accepted the replacement cake. I understand that mistakes happen, but the lack of accountability and quality here was really disappointing--especially for something as important as a birthday celebration.
