We don't leave reviews often, but Toasted Yolk absolutely earned this one. My wife ordered the Brisket Scramble with cheese grits, and I had the Reuben sandwich. Both were outstanding. The food was fresh, flavorful, and easily some of the best breakfast and brunch we've had in a long time. What really set this place apart, though, was the customer service. We were greeted warmly, thanked multiple times for coming in, and genuinely made to feel appreciated. One team member even said, "My prayer is that you love the food and that you return." Well... that prayer worked. We enjoyed everything so much that we came back the very next day. Great food, exceptional hospitality, and an atmosphere that makes you want to return. A friend and I had a lovely brunch at this location on a recent weekday. We arrived around 11:30, and there were plenty of tables. We requested seating in a quiet area and were given a comfortable 2-seat booth towards the back. The dining area is cheerful but on the noisy side. Service was great. We were asked about drinks, which were delivered quickly. Cloth napkins were a nice touch. I'd read that the hash brown casserole was good, so both of us included this in our orders. I had the burrito and my friend had a spinach, mushroom, and cheese omelet. Food was tasty while not being over-salted. Portions were good; I ended up taking some of my burrito home. The burrito was a bit on the spicy side at the restaurant but seemed to mellow out overnight. In my opinion the cheesy hash brown casserole was good but not great. Had a few things to do up in Round Rock, thought I would grab some breakfast before running errands. Found this by accident. Parking lot is large, as it's in an H-E-B shopping center. They do have some outside seating. Today was a bit breezy, so I opted to be inside. The host opened the door for me. I said it was just me today. I walked over to a booth seating. My server came to drop off menus and a cocktail list. Decided on eggs, biscuits and bacon, with a side of gravy. I love Texas for their biscuits and gravy. This Northern girl finds that a food group of its own. I plugged in my head phones and listened to my audiobook that I'm hooked on. Didn't take long before my dish arrived . Eggs were over medium. Bacon crispy, but not over done. And the biscuit was flaky and soft and pillowy. Then I drowned that biscuit in the delicious white sausage gravy. Looked like a lot of food, and I don't know if it was because I was hungry I ate, or maybe because it was so dang delicious I couldn't stop myself. That biscuit though, outstanding. Wish I bought a dozen to take home. With a side of gravy too. Of course. My server was really nice. She was multitasking greeting at the door, and taking my order. Cute decor, clever without being twee, enough space between tables (Thank You!), and very delicious food. Absolutely 5 stars except for our server forgetting to come back to take our order (the assumption is that elderly ladies tip badly, so why extend?) I worked front of the house for a DECADE, and had times of digging coins from the couch cushions. In general I over-tip to an outrageous extent. My wife and I were in the mood for brunch and The Toasted Yolk Cafe has been on our list ever since they opened. Maaaan... they did NOT miss on anything. I ordered the Sunrise Country Bowl from their seasonal creations menu and everything about it was perfect. The eggs were fluffy, the potatoes were crispy, and the queso/pico combo tied everything together perfectly. Halfway through I thought, "You know what would make this hit even harder? Some toast or a croissant." So I asked our waitress, who was super nice and attentive, and she recommended the sourdough toast. Bruh... how does TOAST get 5 stars?! Because it absolutely did. For my drink I went with the IMMUNIBERRY BOOST and once again... 5 stars. Super refreshing and paired perfectly with brunch. But we still weren't done. My wife and I ordered the CHURRO-STYLE DONUTS from the shareables menu for dessert and man... one bite instantly brought back memories of the Amish donuts we used to get back in Indiana -- and those are arguably some of the best donuts in America. We reserved seats ahead of time, but honestly the wait didn't even look bad for people walking in. The atmosphere was great -- everybody vibing, laughing, and enjoying amazing food. Had breakfast with my husband at The Toasted Yolk Cafe and it was a great experience! I joined the online waitlist beforehand since the last time we tried coming there was a long wait outside. When we arrived, we were seated within about 3-5 minutes. The air conditioning was blowing pretty strong, but the staff was accommodating and moved us away from a vent to a booth on the side of the restaurant, which was perfect. This was our first time here, and I think we've found our new regular brunch spot because the food was amazing! I ordered one of their seasonal items -- the egg, sausage, and Gouda sammich -- with cheesy grits and a Dragon Fruit Stardust Energizer drink. Everything was delicious! My husband ordered the Sunrise Country Bowl and said it was very good as well. We also tried the churro-style donuts for dessert. They came out after our meal, so we only had a few bites since we were already full, but they were delicious too! Came here for brunch. The place was packed so getting on the waitlist ahead of time was beneficial. Now it did take a long time for our food to come, but surprisingly they brought out everyone's food, but mine. I sat there for a long time without my food. A man, I presume to be the manager, noticed that I didn't have my food and he went to the back to get it thankfully. Our waitress was a little forgetful. We had to ask multiple times for things and some things were forgotten about. Then came the end of our meal. One of our party had a personal Red Bull. I didn't notice a sign regarding outside food, but I wasn't looking to see if one does exist. No one said a word about it during our entire meal, not the hostess, not our server, nobody. As we were ready to leave, food already in to-go boxes, bill already paid, the hostess approached, and asked if he was done with it. Before anyone could respond or figure out what was happening, she took it, still half full, off the table and threw it away. She then curtly informed us that outside food and beverages aren't permitted and that her manager had been on her about it. She claimed she didn't see it during our 90+ minute meal. We understand policies exist. A polite heads-up at any point during our meal would have been received graciously and accommodated with our apologies. We aren't trying to cause issues intentionally. To note: we spent nearly $100 for brunch and everyone had drinks from the restaurant . So, the way this was handled left us all stunned and honestly soured what had been a genuinely lovely meal and a nice time with family. We were already packed up and ready to leave, and would've just taken the drink with us. Jose, the food, the vibe, all deserve five stars. That ending does not. Came for Sunday brunch, joined using the yelp waitlist. Upon arrival you check in using a device, that basically determines your actual wait time from my understanding. The seat based on table availability and who physically checks in first. That was a bit frustrating to understand that, but to each their own. Food wise, I ordered the toast yolk and cheese grit. It was a delightful breakfast, I'd come back for the food itself. Service was lagging, it took almost 10-15 mins just to get waters. A drip coffee didn't arrive until food was almost done. I found myself getting a bit frustrated between the seating situation and table service but the food truly is what will bring me back, if the service elements improve next time. 4 star food, 3 star service read more

I had a great first visit here. I will say on the weekends. It seems like the waitlist system is down so you do have to go in person. I'm not sure if you are able to call, but worth a try calling because it does get busy on the weekends, but it's so worth it. The wait wasn't very long, and the staff was very friendly as we waited and even once we were seated, I didn't feel rushed at all. The owner came by and checked in gave us their recommendations as well. I ended up trying the brisket scramble as well as the croissant French toast. We also tried the churro donuts. All of the serving sizes were very big portions so you could really share if you wanted to. The brisket scramble was so good. The brisket was very tender; it was just something I wasn't expecting, especially at a breakfast type restaurant. The croissant French toast was absolutely unforgettable and that a huge portion I was able to take some home. I think for the churro donuts it's definitely an acquired taste. You have to like churros, but it was pretty good. Then for my drink I had one of the chai latte. It had a hibiscus cold foam, which was incredible. I could definitely stop by just for that to go in all. It was very busy, but it wasn't too loud in the area that you couldn't hear your conversation. The service was very helpful. Food Review - The Toasted Yolk Cafe Today, my wife and I visited The Toasted Yolk Cafe for probably the fourth or fifth time. Believe it or not, every time we've come here, I've forgotten to take pictures of the food so I could write a review. Well... I almost did it again today! Once again, we had the pleasure of being served by Thomas, who also waited on us during our very first visit. Since we've been here several times, we already knew what we wanted. Thomas was friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better by recommending the French Toast Sticks as an appetizer. They were a great suggestion and definitely worth trying! I ordered the Handcrafted Omelet with chicken, spinach, tomatoes, onions, and cheese. It was absolutely delicious! Every ingredient complemented the others perfectly, creating a flavorful and satisfying meal. My wife ordered the Rocky Mountain Omelet with added spinach, and she thoroughly enjoyed hers as well. We both had grits on the side, and they were creamy, moist, and seasoned just right. One of the things we appreciate most about The Toasted Yolk Cafe is the consistency. Every visit has been a great experience with delicious food and welcoming service. I brought a group of friends here yesterday for brunch, and it was a fantastic experience overall. We went on a Saturday around noon with a large party of 10. I arrived a little after 11 to put my name on the list because I wanted us seated and eating by around 12, and that plan worked out perfectly. If you're coming with a large group during peak brunch hours on a Saturday or Sunday, I'd definitely recommend arriving at least 30 to 40 minutes before you actually want to sit down. That made all the difference for us. Once we were seated, everything else was amazing. Our server was incredible. He was attentive, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the menu, especially considering how busy brunch can get. The food was absolutely top notch. I ordered the cowboy breakfast, and it was really, really good. The portion sizes here are no joke. I honestly could have shared my plate with two other people and still been full. I also tried a few bites from around the table, and everything was excellent. Someone ordered pancakes, and they were amazing. Another friend got the chicken tenders, and those were absolutely phenomenal. Everything we tried was seasoned perfectly, which really stood out. I also had the chance to meet the owners, and they were extremely kind and welcoming, which always makes a place feel even more special. The ambiance was cute and inviting, and I loved the decor on the walls. One thing that really caught my eye was the coffee mugs. If you order regular coffee, they bring it out in these really cute mugs that come in a variety of colors, and they sell them too. I will definitely be buying one on my next visit. Overall, this place checked all the boxes. Great food, great service, great atmosphere, and genuinely nice people. We were 1 on the list for quite a while, but they seated three other tables before us. I asked when we were going to be seated and the manager asked how long we had been waiting. We started off with mimosas- many options for the juice to go in it (Cranberry, orange, pineapple, apple, strawberry). We also had the yolk lovers breakfast with no meat. My husband ordered the Biscuit and Gravy with Eggs. The biscuits were very heavy, and the sausage gravy had very little sausage. The soft scrambled eggs that were supposed to come with it were completely missing. I had the Brisket Scramble, which sounded great--12-hour smoked brisket, eggs, jalapeños, onions, cheddar, topped with house-made queso. However, the queso was poured directly into the container instead of being served on the side, which made the dish messy and poorly presented. Flavor-wise, it was just okay. We visited over Labor Day weekend, and even though the restaurant was packed and we had to wait to be seated, the overall experience was still wonderful. Given how busy it was, I completely understood the wait and the small hiccup with our food arriving cold. Our server, Jadyn was absolutely excellent! He was so attentive, friendly, and genuinely made sure we were taken care of throughout our visit. His customer service really stood out and made a difference. We also had to speak with Alisha, the manager, and she was wonderful as well. She handled the situation professionally, listened to our concerns, and made sure everything was addressed. I really appreciated how attentive and accommodating she was. Things can happen, especially on a busy holiday weekend, and what matters most is how a restaurant responds--and the team at Toasted Yolk handled it very well. The Wednesday Lunch Bunch ventured to the new toasted yolk restaurant in Round Rock. It's conveniently located on Highway 79 near the H-E-B grocery store. It's very bright and nicely decorated. The staff is very friendly. We were seated promptly and our waitress came to the table and took our drink orders while we took a look at the menus. It's primarily a breakfast spot, but it does have sandwiches and salads if you're looking for a luncheon item. I opted for a breakfast sandwich.. called the yolk which which is sourdough toast with two eggs, cheddar cheese, tomatoes, and bacon. From what we were told, this place has been open for 2 weeks and our first time experience was not great. Waitress was nice and the inside looked bright and pretty. I ordered the double-decker omelette and my husband ordered the veggie omelette with chicken. Long story short, order came out wrong. I never ordered feta cheese but was charged for it. Feta was supposed to go on my husband's food. Also, after looking at the photo of my food that I took and what was supposed to be in the omelette, I don't think I got the correct order either. What a wonderful place to eat! One of my friends saw this place had opened while driving through the HEB parking lot off of E. Palm Valley in Round Rock. We grabbed a few friends to eat brunch there together. So glad we did! Everything was amazing! The staff was extremely nice. The food was absolutely delicious. The drinks (yes, DRINKS lol) were really good. There are many drink options to choose from...coffee items to alcoholic selections. The inside decor is bold and bright. Definitely inviting. I ordered the french toast meal that comes with eggs, your choice of meat and hash brown casserole with strawberries or blueberries. The decor and murals on the walls just pop with color that is just nice. They even have a wall with a lit up sign which provides the perfect photo opp! NOW the food is outstanding!! They're only open for breakfast, brunch and lunch but there is a nice variety to choose from. Whatever your preference as far as healthy to pure gluttony or anything in between, they've got it!! I had the Alaskan Benedict which was delicious but the fried chicken was also good. Those pancakes though, are the best I've had probably since I was a child!! I would recommend this location for everyone in the area. I say that as a long time The Toasted Yolk Cafe fan. This is a new location for the Austin area, so of course I had to visit. We got in line before we arrived, which I would always recommend. It's in a big shopping center so there's plenty of parking. You can see the patented green chairs of the vibrant restaurant from outside. The staff was helpful and friendly but check in right away to avoid a delay. The food was fresh and delicious. Im not sure if this location locally sources items, but the taste was top notch. The one thing I did notice on my Saturday visit was that the portion size was a little smaller than locations I've visited recently in Houston and Bryan/College Station. Still no complaints. I joined the waitlist ahead of time (two toddlers ), and we were seated right away in a booth. The kids meals were a hit!
