Vegan breakfast sandwich (it's a special) + a side of potatoes ($2 extra)
    El H.

I've been coming to Unicorniverse for years, and I absolutely love this place. It's fully vegan, but the food and baked goods are accessible for non-vegans, as well. I believe they also have some vegan + gluten-free items! Just be sure to arrive before you get too hungry, because there's normally a long wait between ordering and receiving your food. It took 45-50 min for me to get my entree.

10/10 decor and interior design for sticking to a theme and following through. Ambience is there and they had lots of large croissants and vegan friendly items. The drinks themselves I feel are overpriced with a signature latte being around $7.50 -$9. It is a very pretty drink when fresh as you drink, they color somewhat resembles dirty paint water and loses its visual appeal and potentially stained lips. I prefer my lattes to be espresso forward and felt the syrups and milk took more of a lead. I think if you want a cozy place to sit down and have breakfast, the extra price may be meaningful. But likely not a place I'd order or take drinks out to go.

Everything we ordered was incredible!!! The food was fresh and tasted delicious.. drinks were on point but wasn't a fan of all the different colors in my latte. The employees seemed very overwhelmed. Ambiance was amazing but chairs do need a good cleaning. Absolutely worth the hype!

Unicorniverse is serving drinks and sweets dripping in class and colors. I adore the interior, it is captivating everywhere you look. The art, florals and colors are like a Pinterest board come true. One of the bests desserts I have had in a long time is the Ube Blondie. Seriously, outstanding. Not too overwhelming with any flavor, equal parts frosting and cake. The Magic Matcha blends matcha with butterfly pea tea and created the perfect blend of earthy colors & flavors to balance the sweet dessert. The pastry case has stunning macarons of which I tried the Earl Grey and Coconut Espresso. Both had a surprise burst of flavor in the center. There are plenty of reasons to come back including the Saturn's Surprise (in house only drink) or the Afternoon Tea. Treat yourself to a trip into the Unicorniverse and add some color to your world!

the inside is decorated nicely and is so cute! The food is all vegan-I didn't know that going in. I got an omelette but it was missing that extra flavor only meat could give. The hazelnut croissant was pretty good. They have WiFi and it's a good place to hang out and eat some pastries. Keep in mind they close at 4 pm.

This place is so cute!! Although the prices can be high, I found that the portion size matched it. It's $7.50 for a huge croissant with filling inside. I got the chocolate hazelnut and it was like nutella inside but better. There are a lot of options - tea, pastries, cake, and even savory meal options. My friend ordered an omelette which was yummy and the cheese inside tasted like queso. I wasn't a fan of the olives though. Worker was nice and helped bring my order to the table when I had no hands. They have plenty of small tables, but it wasn't very busy when I came so it was quiet but not too quiet. They have really nice music - classical instrumental style that plays modern songs. Even the utensils are cute - gold color with a patina! My only concern is that the seats are all made of velvety fabric so I hope they steam clean them often! :D I would definitely come back to get some work done on my laptop here! Wifi was reliable.

Unicorniverse has a super cute interior and the drinks are delicious but you can expect to pay an inflated price since it's plant-based and aesthetically pleasing. Still, it's a great spot to grab a coffee, tea, and pastry or dessert with a friend or loved one as a treat! FAST FACTS: * Parking - it's in a strip center so there's plenty of parking available out front even when it's busy * Reservations - no... all seating is first come, first serve * Online ordering - available on their website through ToastTab * Everything is plant-based so it's dairy-free and vegan * Gluten free options available (all macarons and some other menu items) SERVICE - You order at the counter and they give you a pager that goes off when your order is ready to be picked up. The workers are all very friendly but it took a bit to get our drinks. We arrived at 10:00 am on a Sunday and there was no line and only about 3 other groups of customers seated but it took 20 minutes to get 2 cappuccinos. PRICING - The total was $14.07 after tax ($1.07) but before tip for 2 regular cappuccinos ($6.50 each). Even with a milk alternative and for a specialty coffee shop, this seems pretty expensive. CAPPUCCINO (9/10) - It was expensive but WOW was it delicious! It comes with oat milk since everything they serve is plant based. I am not vegan or dairy-free so the milk choice doesn't matter much to me but the overall flavor was amazing! I didn't add any flavoring or sweetener to it... it was perfect on it's own. I'd order this again! This was my first time ordering anything at Unicorniverse and I will definitely be back to try some of the pastries and sweet treats! It's expensive but the quality definitely supports the price. I'd recommend Unicorniverse to others in the area looking for a coffee or baked good, whether they are vegan or not.

Was overdue for another review update...the food here never disappoints. They recently posted on social media that they've been slow/need help for business, so we came out around noon on a Saturday and got a feast. Food was 10/10- I had the lemon pepper tofu toast and my husband had the smokey avocado toast. Only thing...it did take 45 minutes for it to come out and it wasn't all that crowded. And the employee working at the counter wasn't very kind. BUT usually their service is great so probably just a fluke. And then...please please try the Dubai chocolate cake. Omg it's out of this world-best thing we've tried so far and that's saying a lot because we love everything there :)

Went to Unicornverse Bakery & Cafe after reading reviews saying the customer service wasn't great, so I was honestly a little reluctant at first. But I'm really glad I still gave it a chance because my experience was the complete opposite. The service was warm and welcoming, and everything we got both looked and tasted amazing. I had the veggie omelet with mushrooms and spinach, plus an ube muffin and a chai macaron -- and the fact that everything was fully plant-based made it even better. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing, and overall it ended up being such a pleasant experience. Definitely glad I didn't let the reviews stop me from trying it for myself.

I came here as a solo daytime activity for my birthday and had a wonderful time. I ordered an afternoon tea and could see some jealous stares from other patrons bc of how good everything looked! Firstly, everything is vegan which is already a huge plus! I am vegetarian and often times, afternoon teas include small finger sandwiches that contain things that I can't eat so this was perfect for me. Secondly, this is probably the most reasonably priced afternoon tea in Austin. You get a ton of food for a fraction of the cost at some other places. Now on to my actual experience: the afternoon tea consists of one pot of tea and a three tiered platter with savory, semi savory, and sweet options. Overall, I enjoyed the food but some of it wasn't to my liking. I can be a picky eater with an aversion to vegan cheese which is why some of the options didn't tickle my fancy. The deserts however, were wonderful! I do wish that they also had some plain scones with a vegan clotted cream or jam. The bakery itself is GORGEOUS and totally instagram worthy (or just perfect for feeling like high royalty). They played a lot of classical instrumental versions of popular modern day music (think: bridgerton soundtrack). The staff was also incredibly sweet and helpful in picking out a tea. They seemed like they really enjoyed their jobs. I even encountered them conducting a job interview and one of the employees was talking about how they love coming in to work everyday. Overall, it's such a great spot and I can't wait to come back to try their croissants

OMG....this place stole my heart! I live downtown and had no idea that this café even existed! I was out running errands in my workout clothes and when I walked through the door I immediately felt underdressed and I almost turned around, but then I realized that there was another lady working in the same attire that I had on. I put my shame aside and walked past the patrons dressed for afternoon tea and made a beeline for the counter. When I got over my embarrassment, I started to feel as if I was in a French café. The décor is so pretty, the pastries behind the glass counter looked almost too beautiful to eat and then my ears perked up when I realized that they were playing music from Bridgerton! I am a HUGE fan! Well done to whoever owns this charming café! The attention to detail is perfect and almost as perfect as my pistachio and cream croissant! I plan to be in the neighborhood again soon and when I stop by this time, I will make sure that I am dressed appropriately.

Extremely cute, whimsical environment -- from the furnishings to the light fixtures, wall decor and music, it was themed very intentionally and beautifully. It really set the stage. Unfortunately, my excitement waned after receiving my food and drink order. First of all, do we need to use buzzers in a small cafe, or could the items be delivered? My Italian fromage sandwich was dripping with grease. I was hoping for something that was light and fresh based on the menu description. I was super excited to see a London Fog on the menu, and the latte artwork was a super cute touch. But the latte was lukewarm and there was a strange artificial taste, almost like Splenda or some other sugar substitute. I was looking forward to maybe having afternoon tea service here, but my impression is really that this is another made-for-Instagram spot where food and beverage quality don't match the level of aesthetic. Sad!

Le vert sandwich, side of potatoes, enchanted delight drink and lemon tart
    Alyssa M.

This place was absolutely beautiful. The aesthetic is what drew me in. The staff was very nice, patient and attentive. I tried the le vert sandwich and it was phenomenal! I only wish they had something with meat on the menu. The enchanted delight drink was good but nothing special to me. In my opinion, it didn't have much flavor. I'd go again maybe to take pictures and to try other pastries but it was a little pricey for me to pay roughly 40 for a sandwich, drink and pastry

Ask the Community - Unicorniverse Bakery & Cafe

What is the wait time situation on Sunday mornings?

Is this place kid friendly, like do they have high chairs and all?

I'm not sure about high chairs, but I took my 5 & 2 year old and there were a few other toddlers there too! I will say the plates were ceramic so not super kid friendly on that front.

Backyard patio has some big bricks for the kids to play with. Parking is a bit confusing at first but there's additional parking to the side if the entrance lot is full. We sat outside and ordered the following dishes: Coxinha (shredded chicken croquette) was excellent and very kid friendly. Crispy on the outside while incredibly creamy and soft on the inside. 9/10 Bolinha de Queijo (fried cheese balls) were my son's favorite, basically their version of mozzarella sticks. 9/10 Pizza Queijo, cheese pizza with crust stuffed with Brazilian cream cheese, really good. 8/10 Espetinho de Chicken Heart, my wife's choice and she loved it. Dense, slightly chewy, and best with lime and the creamy pepper sauce the waiter brought after I asked. 8/10 Strogonoff de Frango, the standout main dish. Rich, creamy, perfectly seasoned sauce with excellent rice and crispy potato sticks. 9/10 Caipirinha Tradicional, solid and paired well with the savory dishes. 9/10 Caipirinha de Caju, my wife loved it, perfectly balanced sweetness. 10/10 Brigadeiro (dessert) taken to go. Small but tasted as expected. 7/10 Pricing is mid range and actually lower than expected overall though drinks can push the bill up quickly. Overall, great vibes and a very enjoyable experience. Best suited for dates, special occasions, or family outings. I would definitely come back, especially to try more appetizers, different pizza options, the Strogonoff de Frango again and try some new dishes. 4.5 / 5 rounded up!

Skewers - these were pretty good with a nice grilled flavor. I loved the texture. Escondidinho de carne - this is a really good dish with ground beef that doesn't have many veggies like the Irish version, but still very good. The visit was not without a miscues though. I asked the waitress for an extra plate when she brought the entree out, but she never returned. Then, at the end, I finished my meal and nobody was coming to my table to give me my ticket. I had other places to be so I had to walk to the register and ask for my bill. Another person at the bar, who I had never seen come to my table, prepared the bill so I could pay. This was a little bit awkward and just seemed like the employees were flustered due to the holiday or something and just forgot about me entirely. If I ever return, I will have to come back and try the steak on my next visit. It looked really good!

The audacity Story time, Today I went to the original Round Rock location, downtown Round Rock, to buy my son's birthday donuts, It's tradition. Every year on his birthday he gets a dozen half glazed and half chocolate frosted donuts. Then I get a kolache and a dozen donut holes for myself. Well when I pulled up today the line was wrapped around all the way to Mays street. So I just followed the line of cars and got in line. You'd think that a line that long would take a long time but.... Round Rock donuts has this process down to a T. It took less than 10 minutes to get through that line and get my order. We ordered the grilled cheese with tomato soup, chicken and waffles, and the strawberry and cream waffle with Biscoff spread. Before I get to the food, I want to recognize the excellent customer service. Since it was my first visit, I had quite a few questions. The employee helping us was patient, friendly, and knowledgeable. She walked us through all of the flight options, and let us know that everything was made fresh to order, so there would be a short wait. I appreciated the transparency, and when our food arrived I soon found out it was worth the wait. The standout for me was the grilled cheese waffle with tomato soup. The soup tasted homemade, with bright tomato flavor and generous chunks of tomato throughout. It was fresh, and absolutely delicious. The grilled cheese featured a flavorful muenster and provolone instead of the standard cheddar you find everywhere else, and the waffle itself was crispy on the outside with a perfect gooey cheese pull. My friend enjoyed the strawberry and cream waffle with Biscoff spread since I'm not a huge fan of Biscoff. I did try the strawberries and cream, though, and both were excellent. The strawberries were fresh, sweet, and firm, while the cream tasted rich and homemade. The chicken and waffles were outstanding. The chicken was crispy, juicy, and well seasoned, and the waffle had a wonderful texture: light and airy inside with a crisp exterior. It was served with syrup and a remoulade-style sauce. The restaurant is clean, welcoming, and thoughtfully decorated with fun murals, word art and nods to Round Rock. For a first visit, Waffle Love made a fantastic impression. The next time I'm in Round Rock, I'll be ordering another waffle flight, probably the same 3 selections, just without the Biscoff spread.
