    Surprise latte
    Jordyn M.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]10/10 decor and interior design for sticking to a theme and following through.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambience is there and they had lots of large croissants and vegan friendly items.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The drinks themselves I feel are overpriced with a signature latte being around $7.50 -$9. It is a very pretty drink when fresh as you drink, they color somewhat resembles dirty paint water and loses its visual appeal and potentially stained lips. I prefer my lattes to be espresso forward and felt the syrups and milk took more of a lead. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I think if you want a cozy place to sit down and have breakfast, the extra price may be meaningful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But likely not a place I'd order or take drinks out to go.

Everything we ordered was incredible!!! The food was fresh and tasted delicious.. drinks were on point but wasn't a fan of all the different colors in my latte. The employees seemed very overwhelmed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance was amazing but chairs do need a good cleaning.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Absolutely worth the hype!

Unicorniverse is serving drinks and sweets dripping in class and colors. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I adore the interior, it is captivating everywhere you look. The art, florals and colors are like a Pinterest board come true.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] One of the bests desserts I have had in a long time is the Ube Blondie. Seriously, outstanding. Not too overwhelming with any flavor, equal parts frosting and cake. The Magic Matcha blends matcha with butterfly pea tea and created the perfect blend of earthy colors & flavors to balance the sweet dessert. The pastry case has stunning macarons of which I tried the Earl Grey and Coconut Espresso. Both had a surprise burst of flavor in the center. There are plenty of reasons to come back including the Saturn's Surprise (in house only drink) or the Afternoon Tea. Treat yourself to a trip into the Unicorniverse and add some color to your world!

Went to Unicornverse Bakery & Cafe after reading reviews saying the customer service wasn't great, so I was honestly a little reluctant at first. But I'm really glad I still gave it a chance because my experience was the complete opposite. The service was warm and welcoming, and everything we got both looked and tasted amazing. I had the veggie omelet with mushrooms and spinach, plus an ube muffin and a chai macaron -- and the fact that everything was fully plant-based made it even better. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], and overall it ended up being such a pleasant experience. Definitely glad I didn't let the reviews stop me from trying it for myself.

the inside is decorated nicely and is so cute! The food is all vegan-I didn't know that going in. I got an omelette but it was missing that extra flavor only meat could give. The hazelnut croissant was pretty good. They have WiFi and it's a good place to hang out and eat some pastries. Keep in mind they close at 4 pm.

This place is so cute!! Although the prices can be high, I found that the portion size matched it. It's $7.50 for a huge croissant with filling inside. I got the chocolate hazelnut and it was like nutella inside but better. There are a lot of options - tea, pastries, cake, and even savory meal options. My friend ordered an omelette which was yummy and the cheese inside tasted like queso. I wasn't a fan of the olives though. Worker was nice and helped bring my order to the table when I had no hands. They have plenty of small tables, but it wasn't very busy when I came so it was quiet but not too quiet. They have really nice music - classical instrumental style that plays modern songs. Even the utensils are cute - gold color with a patina! My only concern is that the seats are all made of velvety fabric so I hope they steam clean them often! :D I would definitely come back to get some work done on my laptop here! Wifi was reliable.

Unicorniverse has a super cute interior and the drinks are delicious but you can expect to pay an inflated price since it's plant-based and aesthetically pleasing. Still, it's a great spot to grab a coffee, tea, and pastry or dessert with a friend or loved one as a treat! FAST FACTS: * Parking - it's in a strip center so there's plenty of parking available out front even when it's busy * Reservations - no... all seating is first come, first serve * Online ordering - available on their website through ToastTab * Everything is plant-based so it's dairy-free and vegan * Gluten free options available (all macarons and some other menu items) SERVICE - You order at the counter and they give you a pager that goes off when your order is ready to be picked up. The workers are all very friendly but it took a bit to get our drinks. We arrived at 10:00 am on a Sunday and there was no line and only about 3 other groups of customers seated but it took 20 minutes to get 2 cappuccinos. PRICING - The total was $14.07 after tax ($1.07) but before tip for 2 regular cappuccinos ($6.50 each). Even with a milk alternative and for a specialty coffee shop, this seems pretty expensive. CAPPUCCINO (9/10) - It was expensive but WOW was it delicious! It comes with oat milk since everything they serve is plant based. I am not vegan or dairy-free so the milk choice doesn't matter much to me but the overall flavor was amazing! I didn't add any flavoring or sweetener to it... it was perfect on it's own. I'd order this again! This was my first time ordering anything at Unicorniverse and I will definitely be back to try some of the pastries and sweet treats! It's expensive but the quality definitely supports the price. I'd recommend Unicorniverse to others in the area looking for a coffee or baked good, whether they are vegan or not.

Was overdue for another review update...the food here never disappoints. They recently posted on social media that they've been slow/need help for business, so we came out around noon on a Saturday and got a feast. Food was 10/10- I had the lemon pepper tofu toast and my husband had the smokey avocado toast. Only thing...it did take 45 minutes for it to come out and it wasn't all that crowded. And the employee working at the counter wasn't very kind. BUT usually their service is great so probably just a fluke. And then...please please try the Dubai chocolate cake. Omg it's out of this world-best thing we've tried so far and that's saying a lot because we love everything there :)

I came here as a solo daytime activity for my birthday and had a wonderful time. I ordered an afternoon tea and could see some jealous stares from other patrons bc of how good everything looked! Firstly, everything is vegan which is already a huge plus! I am vegetarian and often times, afternoon teas include small finger sandwiches that contain things that I can't eat so this was perfect for me. Secondly, this is probably the most reasonably priced afternoon tea in Austin. You get a ton of food for a fraction of the cost at some other places. Now on to my actual experience: the afternoon tea consists of one pot of tea and a three tiered platter with savory, semi savory, and sweet options. Overall, I enjoyed the food but some of it wasn't to my liking. I can be a picky eater with an aversion to vegan cheese which is why some of the options didn't tickle my fancy. The deserts however, were wonderful! I do wish that they also had some plain scones with a vegan clotted cream or jam. The bakery itself is GORGEOUS and totally instagram worthy (or just perfect for feeling like high royalty). They played a lot of classical instrumental versions of popular modern day music (think: bridgerton soundtrack). The staff was also incredibly sweet and helpful in picking out a tea. They seemed like they really enjoyed their jobs. I even encountered them conducting a job interview and one of the employees was talking about how they love coming in to work everyday. Overall, it's such a great spot and I can't wait to come back to try their croissants

OMG....this place stole my heart! I live downtown and had no idea that this café even existed! I was out running errands in my workout clothes and when I walked through the door I immediately felt underdressed and I almost turned around, but then I realized that there was another lady working in the same attire that I had on. I put my shame aside and walked past the patrons dressed for afternoon tea and made a beeline for the counter. When I got over my embarrassment, I started to feel as if I was in a French café. The décor is so pretty, the pastries behind the glass counter looked almost too beautiful to eat and then my ears perked up when I realized that they were playing music from Bridgerton! I am a HUGE fan! Well done to whoever owns this charming café! The attention to detail is perfect and almost as perfect as my pistachio and cream croissant! I plan to be in the neighborhood again soon and when I stop by this time, I will make sure that I am dressed appropriately.

Extremely cute, whimsical environment -- from the furnishings to the light fixtures, wall decor and music, it was themed very intentionally and beautifully. It really set the stage. Unfortunately, my excitement waned after receiving my food and drink order. First of all, do we need to use buzzers in a small cafe, or could the items be delivered? My Italian fromage sandwich was dripping with grease. I was hoping for something that was light and fresh based on the menu description. I was super excited to see a London Fog on the menu, and the latte artwork was a super cute touch. But the latte was lukewarm and there was a strange artificial taste, almost like Splenda or some other sugar substitute. I was looking forward to maybe having afternoon tea service here, but my impression is really that this is another made-for-Instagram spot where food and beverage quality don't match the level of aesthetic. Sad!

Le vert sandwich, side of potatoes, enchanted delight drink and lemon tart
    Alyssa M.

This place was absolutely beautiful. The aesthetic is what drew me in. The staff was very nice, patient and attentive. I tried the le vert sandwich and it was phenomenal! I only wish they had something with meat on the menu. The enchanted delight drink was good but nothing special to me. In my opinion, it didn't have much flavor. I'd go again maybe to take pictures and to try other pastries but it was a little pricey for me to pay roughly 40 for a sandwich, drink and pastry

Biscoff Croissant and Butterfly Pea Latte.

As soon as I opened the door I definitely stepped into a magical universe! The decor is absolutely beautiful! Candy assisted me and she was so kind. She took her time to explain some menu items and offered great suggestions. I ordered the biscoff croissant with a butterfly pea latte w/wild berry flavor added. Both were delicious! The croissant had a cream filling as well and had an amazing flaky texture. As I headed out I was told to have a magical day and indeed it was!

What is the wait time situation on Sunday mornings?

Is this place kid friendly, like do they have high chairs and all?

I'm not sure about high chairs, but I took my 5 & 2 year old and there were a few other toddlers there too! I will say the plates were ceramic so not super kid friendly on that front.

Language barriers aside, a smile or a head nod goes a long way, But I digress, This market is tucked away out of sight for the most part. We travel in the area frequently , but never spotted it. Parking is a little scarce sharing space with a newer restaurant . This market was unique to say the least. Offering authentic imported items, and some local brands. We browsed for a bit, and picked up a few items. Granted most items were pretty pricey. We were eager and hoped to receive better service in the cafe. Two ladies were in the back assisting, one of which treated us pretty decently, the other was very short. Could not muster up a smile and completely ignored our kind gestures and thanks. However while serving the Brazilian customers was warm, friendly and laughing. The food was pretty good. We shared a piece of coconut cake. cheese bread, and a mini chicken pot pie. Overall I can't say that we would ever go back to this market. Rather spend our money in establishments where we feel welcomed and appreciated. Sadly, I would not recommend.

These are server issues and maybe the cook didn't read the ticket correctly. It had great flavor and was something we both really enjoyed. We also ordered the Million Dollar Bacon, which was honestly disappointing. The bacon was sliced fairly thin and wasn't as crispy as we expected. We think it would benefit from either a thicker cut or a crispier preparation. The biggest letdown for us was the waffle. It arrived soggy, overly salty, and lacked the crisp exterior we were hoping for. Based upon reviews and research, I deduced this was a place that required those who visit to order at a kiosk to get their goodies. Side note: I have noticed that many Bobba and fast casual places have reverted to this model; where customers order and pay themselves without the interaction of an employee and then wait for their food. The main difference here and other places that have similar self service is that this place provides customers with a plethora of Instagramable/ FOMO opportunities. My partner elected to order an oreo marshmallow frappe. This frappe was rich and decadent and included silky chocolate interwoven with oreo crumbles. This frappe tasted exactly like a 'fluffy' oreo; just devine. On the other hand, I ordered the creme brulee souffle pancake. For those who have not yet had the opportunity to try this Japanese delight, the name is what it implies; a creamy stack of pancakes with crunchy bitter caramel, and silky vanilla custard. This dessert happened to be accompanied by a dollop of vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. These pancakes melted in my mouth and each bite was just as good as the one that preceded it. Aside from the great desserts as mentioned above, there are far too many instagrammable opportunities in this place (*truly a foodie and Yelp Elites dream).
