To get a spot here, we had to call from the park to get connection to online reservation system. No on-site office. This is an RV park in the trees with ongoing renovations. This is going to be managed by large company. We had no problems. No restrooms or showers. Only electricity and water available. RV Dump at entrance of park near garbage bins. We had a quiet night, but wonder about future of this park. read more

Was planning to camp but could not log in to site. Employee said they'd help " in a couple minutes". Disappeared and finally quite a bit later came . Stated rest rooms were out of order, but no deduction in price. Went to a different RV park where we were greeted and made to feel welcome. It was well worth paying the $10 price difference. read more

Made reservations for 2 nights at Kit Carson but camping at Grand Canyon was cancelled due to problems with water at Grand Canyon. We tried to cancel with Kit Carson Monday at 1pm for our up coming reservation on Wednesday. We were told that no refund if cancelation were not made within 48 hours. Our cancelation was at the 47 hour mark. Previously we received a text notifying us that restroom were closed for the winter and you had you use the facilities in your unit. Beware if you plan to use this rv park. read more

Most of the Kit Carson RV park is going to be closed for renovations starting at the end of October 2024 and supposedly will reopen again in time for the summer in 2025. The park will reopen as permanent spots and no longer will offer summer summer residents stays. Please check this park carefully to make sure that it is going to be available at a time that you need it. Many summer residents were impacted by this closer and have to move their units out by October 31st. Some residents will not be able to do this due to the age of some of the park model homes and will suffer significant economic loss. read more

Took our seasonal fee of $5000. Opened May 1st 2024 and we got a notice on May 29th we had to get out. Everyone got the notice. And No refund. The manager was a very ruthless, controlling, and very, invasive on everyone's life. Don't recommend anyone should ever camp at this place in the future. read more

Great location will return back. Very friendly staff who helped me register! Shaded and clean

I would have gave this place zero stars if I could. We travel full-time and this has been by far the worst campground we have been at. First off, they ask you for proof of insurance and tags on rig and vehicle, but there are many rigs and vehicles in the park with no tags and not registered. They add money to your bill without notifying you of those charges...illegal!!! There is zero communication with management and the residents there. Water was shut off for two days without a reason or notification as to why. The maintenance or lack of maintenance in that park is unreal. The bathrooms are shut down during the winter, the dryers constantly run out of propane and the washers constantly don't have any water, but you don't know until you pay! This place is a mud pit! Would never go back or recommend this place to anyone!!! Stay clear! read more

Súper súper bad, whenever you go for packages they will not give you everything, you have to tell them what you're looking for so they can give you it and for them to look for it. Also it snows a lot so whenever it's done snowing the place is just full of mud and you get so dirty, don't bother getting a car wash if your gonna stay for the full 5 months.the lady's at the office never even pay attention to you, they make you pay for the electricity if you stay for more than a month, this is why I don't recommend this rv park read more

Sorry, but this place sucks. I arrived late in the eve. They said my spot will fit my 42' 5th wheel, well the f'n trees said nope! And they have zero standards for people who permanently live there. The guy who parked 4 of his 8 cars to far out to not allow a good swing of the camper in. Some ass hat at 1 am starting building something, meaning no quiet hours, especially after 8 hours on the road. The next morning when i was assessing the damage from the tree, i watched a dude dump his grey water right on the ground, looking around, i see trash in peoples lots, mud (assuming from grey water ass-hats) I needed to get my truck looked at, so asked to stay till 430 pm or use a lot (they where not busy) and they was going to charge me a full day or a monthly rate!! Wtf?!?! You dont give a shit about people.. your place looks like an LA Homeless street.. take some pride read more

Call me a snob. I don't like parking in the middle of permanent residents to see shabby fencing and junk piled up in many spots. 90 % of the people there are permanent residents with what appears not to have regulations as to what they do with their spot. On the bright side the smell of pine trees greets you as soon as you step outside. read more

April 4, 2020 My rating for this place is actually "0"! I seldom file critical reviews for businesses, but feel the responsibility to do so in this case, regarding Kit Carson RV Park in Flagstaff, Arizona. In early March, I made a reservation for two RV spaces for us and our friends at Kit Carson RV Park in Flagstaff, Arizona, for a date in early May. I was told that they do not do refunds if I cancelled. Since I was reasonably confident, I would not cancel, I accepted this policy. I have stayed at this park many times in the past, due to the convenience, not for the comfort I could find nearby in far better RV parks. This park, although it is in a beautiful area, is very poor in it's facilities, upkeep and general attractiveness. Due to the Corona virus situation, I felt we should not go on our normal summer trip to various recreational areas. This decision was more compelling due to my wife's and my age....78 years old. Even though we are running out of active years, I think risking shortening years is foolish. I called to cancel but was told the policy to disallow refunds was firm and not negotiable. I argued that the entire nation (and world) is temporarily on hold, and the Kit Carson RV Park should be more responsibly reasonable and allow cancellations and refunds, in this case. This was unapologetically rejected. I told them I had given them much business, but this is the end, and that I would post my feelings to make others aware of the attitude that is as unattractive as the park. This had no bearing to the person I was speaking with. read more

Do not give this business your charge card number. Yes they will tell you it is non refundable but go see what you are paying for before you commit. There are very few RV parks worse than this one in so many ways. read more

Stayed one night in Fifth Wheel, July 2024. Bar none, the most complicated, unfriendly RV park we have ever stayed in. Required copies of official photo IDs for each person in the party, vehicle registration, proof of liability insurance for all vehicles. It took a very long time just to check in. Had to read and sign park rules. We were not given a copy. Surprised they didn't require fingerprints and a waiting period. Park is not layed out well and is basic, basic, no extras. Upon being assigned a site I had to ask for a map to find the spot and no one offered to guide us to our site.. We were given a plain map with sites shown, no further information such as TV stations, local attractions, phone numbers, WiFi info, etc. Sewer connection was old, old, old style and our sewer connections would not fit. Check in clerk was nice but very restricted on what they were allowed to do. Lots of full timers in the park. Absolutely will never stay again. Negative experience all the way around. read more

Dont stay here! $50 for a muddy campsite and in top of that the site they gave us (212) had the sewer backed up and we were told about this after we had already set up. They moved us to another site thankfully but when I expressed how frustrating it was to set up twice they offered no discount or anything of the like. Crappy read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! This is not a safe place for you or your belongings. You feel it as soon as you arrive on location. Staff is not friendly and when we checked out, we accidentally left our $1000 power cord and surge protector. When I drove back the next day to get it, guess who never saw it. It was on a Monday and our spot was surrounded by permanent residents who were at work. When I asked about it, the energy of the staff was so suspect. The spot we were in was so muddy, which is why we forgot our cord...we spent an hour cleaning all our tools and my wife had to take our shoes to the bathrooms to clean the mud. It caused me to forget to check the space. The laundry was located in a little moldy shed. It was crazy. And....the sewer dump pipe was much higher than our spot. Shit does not roll uphill as it turns out. The trees were great, only positive. But there was a reason this place was the only park with available spots in Flagstaff. Boobdock instead. Or go to the casino 30 minutes east, their parking lot is night and day better. read more

RESERVATIONS: Watch out for lost reservations; it happened to us!! Former employee told us double booking is a common occurrance since KCRV uses a bulletin board with post it notes to assign reservations! Additionally, the park policy states they have every right to keep your deposit/payment since "No Refunds" posters are displayed all over the office and their web site. Beware! We suggest you request a confirmation. APPEARANCE: Lots of trees, but the park is showing neglect. Very untidy office; not sure about bathrooms or laundry. Vintage rigs/park models with long term/long time residents occupy quite a few spaces. They have accumulated quite a few outdoor items. OVERALL: Our experience warranted negative stars. We were forced to give a one star in order to write this review. SUGGESTION: Check out Woody Mountain Campground & RV just a 1/2 mile down the road! They appreciate your business, are super accommodating and enjoy people!More Date of stay: June 2020 read more

I made reservations on line and was almost instantly barraged with emails from the park. Some were to confirm the reservation, while other explained the severe cancellation policy. Almost any policy violation included the threat of eviction. I got no less that 7 emails from the office. When I arrived I noticed a plaque on the office stating 1929. After exploring the park I can believe it's been here since then. Poorly maintained roads with severe warning signs of eviction if you dare to drive above 5 mph. It had recently rained leaving large mud puddles in numerous areas. I found myself doing an obstacle course in order to avoid them. Arriving at my site (114), I located the power panel mounted to a 30' pine tree! The electrical wires were haphazardly strung between other trees. If you wanted to look at Flagstaff's beautiful sky the wires successfully blocked the view. I located the sewer dump access and noted it was covered with a 2x6 board. Well at least it was covered. The actual opening was 12" above ground level. This effectively requires that I make poop run uphill! Inspection of the bath house revealed an older wood structure. I wondered if the many coats of paint was actually holding the building together. I used the furnished access code to unlock the door but noticed the regular door knob assembly had been removed. Now I'm not a prude but I do appreciate a certain amount of privacy. But the hole in the door where the door knob had been was left uncovered! Looking toward the sink area I saw a small wooden crudely made box protruding out of the top was the plastic pump of a soap dispenser. The box was screwed to the wall. The top of the box was screwed shut. I suppose this was done to prevent theft of the empty soap container. The male side of the building contained one sink, two toilets and two showers. One toilet was situated in area barely larger enough to actually sit down. Don't be a big guy in that place! I checked out on Sunday before the check out time otherwise I'd be charged $25 per hour. I found the office locked. Later in the day a friend called the office. There was no answer and no device in which to leave a message. This brings to mind, if some one had an issue who would they call? If you're on a budget and need a reasonable place to stay, my advice would be to take a pass this park. read more

Quiet? Maybe if you are parked on the far back end of it, but not if you are anywhere near the highway out front. And not quiet if you happen to be there when several septic pump trucks show up to pump the drain tanks. And not quiet if there happens to be a plumbing problem and their workers are driving up and down the road until at least midnight in their loud ATVs. I could go on about the customer service and the tiny, crammed together sites, or the tiny dirty bathroom with a shower door that doesn't lock, among other things. This place is a dump. I only stayed here because everyplace else was full. But I will never be back, whether every other RV park in town is full or not. read more

Just called to inquire about a long term stay here, and was informed they do not allow trailers or RVs that are older than 10 years because they "look trashy." No opportunity was given to send pictures or drive up with the trailer to show that it is, indeed, clean and well maintained. What a sad and disgustingly pathetic, discriminatory and close minded group of people running this park. After reading other reviews, I suppose I was spared an unpleasant experience anyway. read more

I'm writing only on the dump facilities. Yes, they allow people to dump if you aren't a registered guest. But it'll cost you $10! And an extra $5 if you want to fill your water. Fifteen bones.... That's outrageous! These people are crazy! They apparently don't know that the going rate to dump is usually $5. Oh and there's a FREE dump at the East end of town at a gas station (but no potable water). Check out my other reviews for another RV park available in Flagstaff where dump is $5 and potable water fill is $2. Save your money! read more

This place doesn't deserve the harsh reviews they've been receiving. We were traveling via RV for the first time. Started in Vegas and made our way to Sedona. As RV novices, we weren't aware that reservations should be made well ahead of time during peak season. We were pretty much out of luck at all the top-rated RV spots, so we gave this place a call last-minute. The woman who answered the phone was friendly, informative and gave us clear directions with our reservations. When we pulled up late at night, we couldn't see and another resident staying there was so kind to show us our exact reservation spot. Our spot was also clearly marked on a tree and easy to back into. The ground was leveled and we didn't need WiFi since we had service. I only knocked off one star because the restrooms had a code to unlock it, which I wasn't aware of until the next morning. I tried to call the front desk for the code but no one answered. I made do with the RV restroom so no real harm or foul. I would just note to inquire about the restroom code when you book. read more

A good friend went there to give an estimate to a resident for some work' The speed is posted a 5mph, most vehicles can't ever idle in gear THAT slow, maybe golf carts. He was threatened with trespassing if he came back. Although he tried to travel as slow as his vehicle could it wasn't slow enough for one resident. Maybe they need to re-evaluate their speed limit! read more

Fantastic Experience. It is so centrally located to everything. Staff is amazing. I am so glad we had a chance to stay here. Very clean and has a lot of trees, laundry, clean bathrooms and very hot showers. My hubby and I have been traveling for 4 months and this place is one of my favorites. Give them a call making a reservation was easy and they are flexible as I had to keep adding on nights for a longer stay. A+ Service and experience. Thank you Kit Carson RV Park for a wonderful and stay. read more

Don't deserve even 1 star. You can see from my other reviews that I'm NOT a basher. I'll post mostly my best experiences and if it's not good I just don't post anything but the manager at this park was so awful that I had to warn people. She is the one with short gray hair on the left side of the desk as you walk in the door. Do not allow your children around her. She is vile and vulgar, just awful. There is some kind of drug use or something going on there. She just snapped like a crazy person. Like we were bothering her. And we are not rude people. Talk about bad customer service. Maybe she's a dry drunk or something. She's just angry and VERY verbally abusive. (And that is to paying customers who were staying multiple days and come thought Flagstaff regularly). Wow, how does she talk to her loved ones? I'm sure she would drive her own children to addiction or suicide. The other girl is rough looking, has hair dyed reddish orange with big solid grey roots. Very skinny, which alerted us to the possible drug situation..or it could be a health issue...She was not evil but very childish, acted one way to us and then changed her story in front of her manager, very unprofessional and didn't take responsibility for her trouble causing actions. We stayed in town for a while after we let that park and as we met people and told them the story they confirmed the druggy reputation. I was told there was a bust there previously. Although I didn't actually see drugs myself. It just has an unsafe vibe. They were the only park with space available the night we got there. They didn't give us the wifi code, so we had to walk all the way back to the office for it. Again for the code to the bathroom. As for change for the washer dryers, they told us to walk across the highway to the market for it. (Laundry in hand). The bathrooms are filthy and so tiny that you can't sit on the toilet without your knees hitting the door. (and I'm a smaller than average person.) The laundry area has dirt around the folding table so thick you can write in it. The only good thing is the location, but there are others RV Parks you can choose from close by. We don't have a vehicle so rely on Uber to take us into town and it was quite easy to get one. read more

We have stayed here for a month and have found the people to be friendly. The view if the trees is Beautiful. The breezes blowing through the trees gives you that wonderful mountain feel. Our site overlooks the majority of the park. Nice setting. Large site with gravel base. The only bad thing is the lack of sufficient electricity to run our a.c. on the unusually hot days for the area. There have only been a couple and our fans did pretty well. Free donuts on Saturday morning made up for it. read more

This is my 5th summer at KC RV Park. Other regulars have been returning for 15, 20 and even 30 years. The location is ideal to enjoy all the amenities of Flagstaff, close enough to walk or bike there. Despite being so close to town, it is unspoiled, cool and shady. The tall ponderosa pines provide aroma therapy, especially after a summer rain. While no campfires are permitted, for safety sake, the Dark Night skies afford great views of the stars and the moon in all its phases. Watching the myriad of birds, squirrels and chipmunks is like watching a Disney cartoon. At night the sound of the train and its whistle is my lullaby. Right across Historic Rt. 66 are 2 convenience stores and a Hiking Trailhead starts there too. I hope to return here for many more summers to come. read more

DO NOT COME HERE. EVER. FOR ANY REASON. I'm writing this from a resident's perspective and a lot of what I am saying I have also been told by the police. Just don't come here! First off, the managers are just plain rude. They don't do anything about any problem and basically let anyone do whatever they want until the owners come through and then they come around and yell at you to cover their own asses. The owners don't live on the campground and come through every now and then to look around. The rest of the time it's run by the managers, who do live on sight, and they are horrible people. They don't follow the rules that are in place at the campground and enforce them on everyone else. For example, the speed limit is 5 mph. They drive 15 mph in their vehicles and yell at everyone else to slow down. Also, there are breed restrictions for dogs. And leash laws. They had pitbulls running around without any leashes. Now I absolutely love pitbulls but these pitbulls weren't fixed and one tried to attack my dog, while the manager sat there and laughed and said that their dog would have really hurt my dog once they had him under control. So don't let your dogs get anywhere near theirs because they are incredibly aggressive and they are not fixed. Second, there's meth. Everywhere. I haven't personally seen it but the cops have tailed my car just because I drive a beat up old Corolla and come from Kit Carson because it looks like a drug dealer's car. I have been told by the police that it's all over Kit Carson and that the managers are all using, cooking, transporting and selling methamphetamine. I have heard so many things from other residents that have been here longer than us. A trailer exploded in 2013 because they were presumably cooking meth, and the managers took the trailer into the woods and dismantled it before the cops even found out. A neighbor of mine told me that she walked in on them shooting up. So there could be other drugs that they have too. The police are here all the time arresting someone and searching property that belongs to the managers or investigating other incidents, like domestic violence which is all over this place. But it's ongoing. As in a few times a week. Like I said, I haven't personally seen any meth or anyone doing meth but the neighbors all know and the police have told me that the area is incredibly unsafe. Third, if you have an issue with any residents, you're on your own. The managers don't do anything. There was a couple that lived down the street from us that would get into fights and the boyfriend would beat his girlfriend. There would be screaming and throwing things and you would hear her screaming at him to get off of her and you would hear him beating her. We called the police probably 3 or 4 times every month for about 3 or 4 months straight. And the managers didn't evict them. No matter how many people complained or called the police. It was terrifying to listen to. Eventually they moved, but it was because the owners came through and personally evicted them themselves. Until then, we had to listen to that all the time. Another resident had her trailer frozen completely during the winter because when she went on vacation for the holidays, the trailer next door to her unplugged her trailer and plugged theirs into her lot. So basically they siphoned her electricity. The managers told her that the person living next door to her had done it before and they did nothing about it. My last complaint is that it's just completely run down. Yeah, it's in the woods and looks beautiful, but when you walk around, there's trash EVERYWHERE. Residents leave plastic all over the place, people break glass and don't clean it up, and there's all sorts of junk just everywhere. And you can't complain because it's pointless! Nothing will get done about it! If there's anything you get out of this review just don't come here. It's not safe, it's not clean, the people won't help you, they're rude and they're on drugs. This is all true and not an exaggeration. Just don't come here. For any reason. read more

This park is in a scenic park of Flagstaff, but the park itself is not so much scenic. It is not really the place if you are an RV camper, it seems more geared towards residents with semi-rundown single wide mobile homes. We reserved three RV spots here for one night, as we were traveling with our family in a caravan of trailers. But, a camper had arrived after closing hours the night before we were due to arrive and pulled into one of the spots we had reserved. The next day the office claimed they could do nothing about it since the folks that had parked there had left for the day, and they are not allowed to tow a rig away. That makes no sense to me, but hey I am not in the campground business so what do I know. I don't think the office really cared though because even after they arrived back at camp no once from the office came out to talk them. So I felt like I was lied to about the whole situation. As a family we camped near each other but not next to each other, oh well it was one night. Now the campsites, were a whole 'nother concern. We were in a pull through site that was uneven and oddly shaped. Our site in particular was very wide when you pulled in, but curved and narrow on the pull out, also we had to run over a tree stump with our trailer just to get out. For anyone who has towed before, you know how bad that can be. All of this said, I don't think i will camp here again. read more

This is a very quiet park that is not too far from the freeway. Lots of trees give it a real outdoor feeling. Their are a lot of permanent RVs in the park. The restroom that is closest to the short stay RV area is locked until May 1st. Apparently there is another restroom in the park, but we couldn't find it as it was late at night. They really should have a map posted outside their office for after hour arrivals. We ended up going somewhere else that evening after we had already dropped cash in the overnight box.
