Walking in a mall, I needed to have coffee break. I was in the mood for good coffee, not boba drink and these days hard to find. This place is very cozy cafe but not too crowded so I can have relax coffee time. Kitanda is a Brazilian coffee shop and not only have coffee also Brazilian food menu, Brazilian snacks. I ordered 12oz Brazilian Latte and sell Kitanda bread. They have regular Latte but I tried Brazilian Latte which is espresso shot and steamed milk sweetened with condensed milk. Kitanda bread is Brazilian cheese bread aka Pão de queijo. I enjoyed my coffee break with sweet drink and savory snack. I don't prefer high acidity coffee, so their midsummer dark toasted coffee flavor is good for me!! For sure Kitanda is one of my best coffee place! Can't wait to try another menu!!! read more

Service: 5/5 Dropped by on a Saturday morning, it was quiet. The ladies working behind the counter greeted us and let us take our time with the order. We got a Kitana bread and two açaí bowls. I think it took maybe 7-8 minutes from order time to receiving the food. Pretty fast pace. Food: 5/5 Delicious! Mine was loaded with toppings, it was a good combination of açaí purée and the toppings. Though I think my teeth didn't appreciate that I was chomping away at cold hard mango pieces lol. Used to love this place so much, but what happened? I went to get their coffee shake today and there were two baristas and yet neither didn't even acknowledge me for 5 minutes when they both knew I was there. Popped in for a coffee and light breakfast. Got the Brazilian latte with almond milk (espresso, milk, condensed milk) it is similar to a ca phe sua da but sweeter/less intense- not bad a touch sweet. Tried the little chicken cones and they were super good, like a bite size chicken pie but with more filling and less dough. A first timer to this coffee shop! Wanted to try out the Caramel Shake, so checked out this joint at the mall. They had a little tablet to place the order on. Pretty pricey for a 16 oz Caramel Shake ($7.21 Total), but taste was pretty good! Definitely a good mix of caramel blended with coffee, which I liked the balance of. I was visiting Washington from out of town for a friend's wedding, and really wanted an acai bowl (i'm highkey an acai bowl fanatic), and luckily we found this place in the mall nearby. And I was pretty hungry so I was pretty open to anything. Ambiance: This place was in the mall, so it was easy to find. It was surprisingly busy inside which is usually a good sign. But not much else to note. Service: The service was pretty standard, not very personal because the employees were just trying to get through the line. But I did ask for my receipt which they could not provide because they had an issue with their machine, so they asked me to come back in a few minutes to get it, which I did like 10 minutes later. Food/value: A very mid acai bowl, not even accounting for the price they charged for it. First off, you can't really customize or change things, plus there were very few ingredients in it. I know I might unfairly be comparing to BYO acai bowl places, but I'm used to having more ingredients and having the bowl full. But this bowl was much smaller than what I usually get and for what I paid ($13.10 after tax, though I think I added peanut butter). And the limited ingredients made for a poor experience. Overall, would not come back. Maybe other people have had better experiences, and I'm sure the lackluster acai bowl experience is because they might specialize in their other food/drink items. The açaí bowls here are everything! So creamy and not to sweet. Many combinations to choose from for the perfect açaí bowl or make your own or customize your bowl. The options are endless. No matter which açaí bowl you get, the toppings are always fresh. I mean always. You won't get over ripe or underripe fruit here. The coffee here is a game changer. It's such a high quality. It's medium-dark blend. Smooth and bold without being bitter. These beans from Brazil are the holy grail. And my oh my. The Kitanda bread (pao de queijo) had a nice crust but soft and chewy on the inside. Made from tapioca donuts gluten free too! Pairs so well with the coffee. Love this place tucked away in the busy south center mall! It's a must when we shop there. My daughter always gets a delicious açaí bowl, I always get a Brazilian latte. I have no idea what's in it but it's their specialty drink and it's yummy. We also always leave with some fresh made chocolate truffles. Their name- Kitanda is this delicious cheese bread that they offer and really the star of this review! Served warm, they really hit the spot with the balance of bread and cheese. I definitely ate too many of them my first go. I am so glad they offered at the register at checkout or I wouldn't have tried them. After an uplifting renovation, Kitanda in Redmond looks fresh and inviting. I wish they were right near where I live because the quality of their cheesebread and coffee seems outstanding. The energy blast acai bowl was equally delicious and lovingly prepared. They have a nice front seating section with a "bar" and sofa plus tables in a separate section to get some work done. Since I could get it frozen to bake at home plain, I wanted to try it with a topping while I was here. I thought this one was OK. The cream cheese didn't really leave an impression on me. It also wasn't served warm (makes sense as the cream cheese would probably melt). Next time I want to try the bacon egg and cheese sandwich on this bread. Ham and Cheese $3.79: This was ordered from the case. It's like a fancier hot pocket. While everyone's waiting in line at Starbucks, I snuck over to Kitanda just around the corner. I had it on good authority that Kitanda has the best coffee in the Southcenter Mall so I was eager to try it. I was immediately struck by how classy it was by comparison. Rich, dark colors, shiny natural wood furnishings, and a gorgeous spread of sumptuous baked goods. They have coffee, fruit/açaí bowls and smoothies, shakes, and a variety of unique sandwiches. This is a fantastic breakfast and morning snack spot. The mocha I got was the right amount of sweet, served promptly by a friendly server. I was in and out in less than three minutes, but felt like it was a cozy space where I could hang out and write for a bit even though it's a narrow quick service coffee stand in a mall. In fact, two patrons were already outside people-watching while I went. The coffee got cold a bit more quickly than expected. It wasn't served with a cardboard holder, and I wonder if the cup was too thin or the environment too cold. But I'll definitely be back for a snack. read more

At this point I am just trying all of the Kitanda locations near the Seattle area. Before going on a flight, I decided to try the one in Southcenter. I know what I like & what I like is the Tudo which consists of açaí base w/ peanut butter, banana, strawberries, coconut, cacao nibs, dried mango, hemp seeds, Brazil nuts, sweetened condensed milk, & honey. So far all of the Kitanda locations that I have been to are really good & this location is no different. Plus since it was out of here Seattle I noticed the price was cheaper. read more

The acai bowl was a solid 3/5 for me. I'm a bit of an acai snob at this point as I've made it my mission to try as many acai bowl places as possible. Pros: - Very solid consistency. So often do places claim to have acai bowls then give you a smoothie bowl mixed with a sambazon package. This was an actual acai bowl - They don't skimp on the toppings. A good amount of peanut butter was given, enough that I would be able to have some pb with every bite Cons: - Fruit was large and in charge. You kind of have to maneuver around the giant pieces of fruit to get to the acai. Would be nice if they sliced them smaller/thinner so you aren't trying to cut it yourself with the plastic spoon - The acai might be mixed with sweetener because it was super sweet. Thankfully I asked for no honey or else it would've been sickeningly sweet - Granola was similar to Nature Valley bars. Not necessarily a con but it added a lot of sweetness to the already sweet bowl. The granola was also thicccc so you risk the roof of your mouth being scraped. I prefer a lighter granola Despite having more cons than pros, I'd still say this place is okay. I would come here again if I had a really strong craving for acai bowls. read more

This place is in the mall and isn't set up in a way that it's comfortable to hang out. A bar and several tables. The main reason I enjoy this place is it's one of the few in the area where you can get some Brazilian and Latin American groceries/food. My Brazilian partner enjoys the coixinhas and pão de queijo (cheese buns) although they're average for what they are. The coffee is just ok, nothing special. The açai is pretty good, although there are probably better places to go now that açai bowls are popular. For me, the back wall of groceries is a draw. They have biscuits, jellies, and other packaged foods that aren't available in the grocery store and it's a bit of nostalgia to pick them up here. Overall it's a pleasant pit stop if we are passing by but I wouldn't go out of my way to plan a trip here now that we've tried almost everything. To be fair, our standards are high as a Latino couple who grew up with these foods at home. Nothing compares to Mom's cooking The staff are really nice and patient too, by the way. read more

I was very pleased with the quality of the açaí they use...fresh açaí...NOT powdered. The staff is friendly and quick with service. I would go here again for an açaí bowl if I'm in the area and craving açaí...and if they clear all the fruit flies from the store. It's a nice and clean establishment with plenty seating and Brazilian goodies to snack on and drink but, I could not enjoy my açaí there. We sat at a table near the entrance of the store but kept being bothered by all the fruit flies from the fresh produce in there. Organic açai bowls! I Rio De Janerio with the granola on the side. The granola here has WALNUTS people. It doesn't show on the menu but I saw them on top of my açai bowl and I had to give it away. I came back today and ordered the granola on the side for my husband. I usually like my açai bowls with a bunch of fresh fruit. Here they have dried fruits and fresh banana. It was different, but it was still very good. The cheese bread is sinfully delicious and they make sandwiches out of this bread too. So dangerous!! Try this place next time you come to Southcenter. This place seems...healthy...seeing the smoothie bowls with fruits in it. Oh right, they have a name, Acai bowls. I'm not too familiar with this concept so I'm not sure how to rate them as that's mainly what this place is known for, but I do know that Acai bowls are trending, it's all over Pinterest. Lol. I ordered a sausage egg biscuit, it's definitely higher quality than McDonald's sausage egg McMuffin. The biscuit portion is made with their house bread, it has an interesting texture and taste, not bad, just unique. I followed the address and didn't realized that it's located in the mall, park on the side where Din Tai Fung is.
