Ownership changed a few months ago and the quality has gone way down. New owner tried to maintain the recipe for the breakfast wrap but I've had it twice since the change happened and the quality is bad /doesn't taste as fresh as it used to. They also don't know how to make coffee. read more

Stopped in for coffee and pastry before heading home from Seattle. We thought from pictures and review the options would be bigger. Maybe 6 things to choose from? The apple turnover and almond pinwheel were slapped down on the table and the silverware thrown after it. The turnover won hands down! So good! Pinwheel was dry and very tough- needed a knife to cut. Two americanos took over 10 minutes to get with no one else waiting. Went up to ask about them and was told the decaf beans were being difficult. It's a standard coffee shop with tables and a couple of comfy chairs. Not sure I would come back- plenty of other places that have friendlier service. read more

Unfortunately this place is starting to go down hill. Every time I come in for a coffee there is no coffee. And when they say there's coffee, there isn't (ie I will order and pay for a large coffee but only get 3/4 full because they're out). And the coffee doesn't taste good, like it's been sitting around. And then they use their bare hands to put my lid on, getting god know what all over the mouth piece. Come on.. read more

Very cute and cozy cafe. We went when it was a bit busy on a Sunday morning - more seats started clearing up after about 10 am. Had one of their matcha latte's and the avocado toast. Both were tasty - the avocado toast was a bit on the salty side for my taste but paired nicely with the sweetness of the matcha latte. A solid place to visit if you're in the area. read more

Wanted to try a new coffee spot post gym and this didn't disappoint! Ordered the ube coconut latte with almond milk. Definitely recommend getting it with sweetened almond milk if wanting it on the sweeter side. Personally it was a little too sweet for me so I'd probably order it again with unsweetened almond milk next time. The coconut taste was a bit overpowering but nothing too strong. Cute little coffee shop with a good amount of seating and a lot of natural light! Unfortunately my latte was nowhere near hot - just warm. I usually can't stand hot things, so that's saying something that I wished it was hotter! The latte itself was interesting. I got the Ube coconut latte, which definitely had a stronger coconut flavor than the Ube. It was still interesting to try though. Wifi can be spotty (1-10mpbs with 3+ people, 50mbps if you're by yourself). Overall a good spot to stop by! This place is ! My coffee is always good. no matter what I order, I know it's going to be delicious. The matcha is my favorite, especially paired with the raspberry bar (so good!). Don't sleep on the paninis either, they're seriously good. It's also a great spot to get some work done; there's usually plenty of seating. My only complaint is the parking lot, it's a bit small, but honestly, it's worth circling around for a spot. read more

Their strawberry coconut matcha latte was probably the best type of matcha drink I've ever had (if I said it before about another matcha drink, this one beats it). The balance of all three flavors was perfection. I had it with almond milk. I hope this isn't just a seasonal special - if it is, please make this a regular on your menu! For food, we ordered the dilettante breakfast sandwich (croissant) - highly enjoyed it! It was either the cheese, the spread, or how they mixed the green onions in the egg that made it good. The filling of Their breakfast wrap was mixed well. Their some places that makes breakfast wraps but the ingredients arent mixed well so there'll be bacon on one end, potatoes in the middle, and eggs on the other end ---- why?! But here is nicely mixed so you get a good bite every time Super nice staff here even on rainy days (coming LA, rainy days = grumpy people). The parking lot is small but convenient street parking is available. When I come back, I'd definitely work from here - very cozy and great natural lighting. read more

As someone that isn't used to leaving reviews, this place deserves one! I'm new to the area so have been discovering new places to eat that. The food was delicious, you can taste the freshness as you bit into it. We each had the breakfast wrap, basically a breakfast burrito. And the Lorraine quiche, delicious!! To start, walking in this cafe is loud. Especially when there's a lot of people in there and they are chatting lol. You order prior to getting seated and they bring out your items. I ended up ordering an iced matcha latte and a crust less quiche and let me say, while the latte was okay - the quiche was so delicious. Like I almost wanted to buy a second but didn't because I had to leave lol. This place is great because of all the options they have for drinks as well as food items. New owner has no idea what she's doing. I was served by her and it was like she has never worked with coffee in her life. She didnt understand me even after repeating myself several times, and after all that still got my drink wrong. I overheard her arguing with her workers who just seemed to be doing their jobs the best they could. The price isn't worth it any more. Stay away! read more

Super cute cafe! There's limited parking in front of the store and indoor seating available. The baristas were so friendly and helpful! I was able to adjust my drink to my preferences. What I got: Frosted Pumpkin (coffee) with oat milk and less sweetness - 5/5 Dilettante croissant (eggs, bacon, and provolone) - 5/5 Wifi was also available and I noticed people using laptops here so it seems good for working remote or studying. Glad I finally stopped and tried Refuel Cafe after driving past it every day. Without a doubt, both the coffee and the food are great. For me, the food might even better than the coffee - which is saying alot! I've had the brown sugar latte and the mocha, both were good. I did prefer the mocha a bit more - it's something special. You'd be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't grab breakfast while you were there. It's a bit spendy at around $10 or so, but it's one of the best croissant sandwiches I've ever had. Their breakfast burrito is also a shining star with large chunks of fresh, local sausage. The avocado toast is definitely "artisan" but it's not very substantial for the price. There's a good size area for seating but it does fill up quickly as this is becoming a popular spot. Enjoy! read more

Cute little cafe in Renton! There's a parking lot right in front. The people working there were super nice. They currently have some socially distanced indoor dining and some outdoor seating. The drinks were fun! I don't usually like matcha, but the sunshine matcha on the spring drinks menu looked intriguing. It wasn't my favorite, so I'd get the chai next time. There was also a little fridge full of bottled and canned drinks that looked delicious if you just want to grab something quick. There wasn't a huge selection for food, but everything they had sounded good! I really liked my focaccia sandwich that came out warm and toasted! It was $13 for my sandwich and medium sized drink, which I thought was pretty decent compared to the Los Angeles prices that I'm used to. I wish I lived closer! read more

Established in 2019.

Refuel Cafe opened at the end of 2019. Little did we know what was in store! We remained open throughout 2020 during all the ups and downs of Covid crafting coffee and food, connecting with others over a very unique experience. We are beyond grateful for the people of Renton for their support. For us, it's all about the customers. We have been nominated for several categories in the Best of Renton for each year we have been in business: best customer service (we won in 2022), best coffee shop and best breakfast. But generally I've had good luck over the years setting up at a table and chatting with friends & fam before a hike, enjoying the morning with my pup doing some socialization training or throwing a few emails around to my corporate overlords. I've seen ads for their evening events and have been wanting to make it to one, but I always seem to see the poster days or weeks after the event! Poetry nights in a space like boon boona seem like an unbeatable vibe, hope to notice & get to one soon. *Parking is also not hard to find at all. There's a free garage down the street at the transit center that is never full, and tons of street parking*

Parking around the streets touching here and the Hyatt Regency Lake Washington at Seattle's Southport is not advisable since it's very limited. There is a paid parking garage near the Hyatt you can use, or you can use the nearby Coulon Park parking lot and walk over here like I did. There's no seating inside here; instead there's tons of treats, merch, tea bags, gummies and other products on tables and shelves filling up the right-hand side of the interior. There's also a grassy background where you can take photo ops of yourself and/or your drinks. Up at the front counter to the left-hand side of the entrance are two kiosks you can use to punch in the drinks you want. The menu is also up behind the counter as well. For this visit, I got their tiramisu milk tea with boba. The tiramisu foam ayer was large enough that when I stirred the whole drink in, I could taste the tiramisu's slight coffee-like, earthy hints throughout. The milk tea itself is very strong as I could taste the bitter undertones of the tea easily after just one sip. Also love how they put their drinks in a plastic container shaped like a can! As for their boba, I actually don't mind them being much smaller than many other boba places. They're both small and very chewable, and still look very good sinking to the bottom of the drink in case a photo op is needed. Regular size boba would take up too much space inside the can anyway. Overall drink was a tad too sweet though. This is one of the few places that come to mind for me when someone asks me what boba places there are around the Renton area, as I've gotten great drinks here for every visit since 2021. I'd love to come back again and try their other drinks when I'm around the area!

Here for more than 3 years now, Redondo is Renton's place for the sweet AND savory crepe. Coffee drinks are made to order, and don't forget the option of horchata for your latte, or small smattering of Nutella for your dining selection. Be advised, there will be a small wait as they create your dish to order. You can also watch the magic happen live as the staff diligently and caringly make your plate. It's a delicious anticipation to view. For me, I got the berry crepes and a nice foamy decaf latter (presented with a side of Maria's Gamesa biscuits!!!l). Be advised, they are open until 5pm and it can get a little crowded. But thay is a small price for a little bit of warmth, artistry, and a peaceful environment.
