I hired them to accommodate my family's 4 day Airbnb stay in San Diego last month, in October of 2021. I felt that their Chef Daniel was very professional and prompt with our initial contact, and very creative with his menus that he came up with for our different meals throughout each day. One of our family is vegan and one is gluten-free, both of which he tailored the menu to and didn't bat an eye at it, but rather embraced the request with the same creativity he did with the rest of the meals. He brought a server in for the dinner portion each night which were plated and paired with wines for the adults, and that added an extra touch of class and elegance and made for a very smooth service. That extra assistant also allowed him to engage with us a bit more and allowed him time to answer our many (and probably slightly annoying, lol) food questions that my family had. His plate presentation skills and thoughtfulness with flavors by the way... unmatched and up there with the best meals we've tasted in our travels anywhere. We would definitely recommend Chef Daniel and his team for any intimate event and plan to hire him again for a holiday event around New Year's Eve this year. You can tell that their Chef has many years of experience and has dealt with a variety of scenarios, and I would bet he does well in the bridal event realm in San Diego, and have referred my sister to him for consideration for her bridal shower for this reason. My husband and I hired chef Daniel to come cook in our home to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. To say that chef Daniel exceeded our expectations would be a complete understatement. His communication from the get go was flawless and his proposed menus were wonderful. From the time that he arrived at our home it was a great experience. He is personable and was very fun to talk to while he cooked. He was very flexible, which was great as we had a young child to get to bed. The food was even more wonderful. We enjoyed four courses, each better than the one before. The ingredients were fresh and flavors delicious and inventive. I highly recommend anyone who is looking to celebrate a special occasion or just getting a group together and not wanting to cook to book chef Daniel. Me and my friends host some fun meet up groups and we decided to do a vegetarian tasting menu meal months ago because a good chunk of our group are vegetarians so it has been in the works for a while. We knew we wanted to hire a chef with presentation skills as we eventually are doing a cook book with all of our favorite recipes from out meet up events. We hired them to cater our little anniversary retreat in Tijuana this year since our cruise plans got cancelled due to Covid-19. Their chef customized a special menu for us and really made the night special including wine pairings and a suprise extra dessert course that he prepared more than what we paid for! We appreciated the anniversary gift very much. He was a lucky find too because we weren't sure if the plans would work as me and my husband dont speak Spanish fluently and we did not know if we would be able to find an English speaking chef in time that would allow a smooth private chef sort of meal service, but he was based locally it turned out. I cannot say enough great things about Chef Daniel. I hired him to cater a private 4 course dinner for my husband's Birthday event in August 2020, and he was so easy to work with and so helpful in every step of planning and on the day of the event. His plating is just stunning by the way, and his food is very flavorful and creative. You can really appreciate the passion he has for food, he is so talented! Chef Daniel did a fantastic communicating with us fast, before any other chefs did on Takeachef.com. We hired him to make a nice dinner for my birthday on September 2nd of this year for my wife and I and group of friends. He was very prompt about things even through the event date with each detail. Food and presentation were phenomenal too. I have nothing really negative to say, he did what he said he would and more. His prices were actually pretty low that almost made me nervous but we had high expectations based on everything he said and come my birthday, he exceeded all of our expectations. Oy vey, what a treat Chef Bear cooked up for my grandson's Bar Mitzvah! I'd heard many good things from the other grays in my figure drawing class. I was concerned because our budget wasn't much with the economy, but I tell you what, you wouldn't know it from the food! Chef Bear took traditional Mitzvah cuisine and spun gold, true to his name! All the guests thought we'd spent a fortune on catering, little do they know the magic this talented chef is capable of performing! If I had to criticize anything, it would be that his expertly selected cheeses made it very difficult for me to stay away, causing quite some trouble the following day. I hired them for a small Halloween gathering I was throwing for a group of friends on 10/30 and they did a great job and went above and beyond what I was hoping for. Their chef made a fun Halloween themed ghoulish appetizer menu my friends all loved. Their pricing is pretty good for the area, but the food and service were AMAZING! I am a little confused reading any negative reviews for this company, as that was nothing like the experience that we had. I have a feeling there is more to these stories? Me and a group of coworkers were visiting San Diego for a convention and we decided to hire a private chef for one of the nights of our stay. We were so impressed with both the chef's presentation and clearly very seasoned experience. He did very well with a fair sized group and he produced the party by himself. Chef Daniel was absolutely amazing I hired him to be a private chef for a surprise dinner. He went above and beyond to make everything as Easy and as perfect as possible. The meals were absolutely amazing his steak was better than any steak house I've ever had and if I could give him a million stars I absolutely would. He was like a ninja chef cross between Iron chef and karate kid, he was hilarious lol! Where did we find this guy!?! I had to replace a chef who had to cancel on us for our family event I had planned for a couple of months and we found these guys on craigslist. I was impressed with what they produced for the price. They matched what we were paying already which we were not expecting to find last minute so we paid less than $100 per person for a 4-course meal. The quality and presentation of what we received looked far above what we saw in the photos from our original chef so I think it worked out! read more

I hired them for a small family retreat in La Jolla. They put together a nice kids menu since my younger children are small and a four course menu for me, my husband and older kids. Everyone left happy including my young picky eaters We don't go that way often but we would recommend them to anyone local or other travelers visiting the San Diego area. I flew from nashville to San diego for my wedding and hired chef Daniel to cater my wedding. It was a 200 person wedding with many diet restrictions. Chef Daniel was able to accommodate all of the different allergies and different preferences within a reasonable price. I attended a family gathering in La Jolla, Ca and was impressed with the dinner they put on. The food was inventive but not over the top. It was a good range of flavors that did not get boring as it included a variety of ethnic cuisines.
