Based on the positive reviews here I was hopeful this would be a contractor I could consider. Made a call and spoke to a man letting him know I was looking to do a kitchen remodel. Since their website advertised remodels on a budget I thought great! Unfortunately-- it did not turn out that way. We had Kitchen and Batch Werk did out kitchen and down stair powder room remodel this August(2013). I found them on Yelp as we had no other contactors that we know and liked, so I took a chance. The best thing that I like about dealing with David (the owner) is that he is an honest guy. So I am going to be honest in my review. I think no contractor is perfect, especially when it is not a minor fix but a remodel. So I give 4 stars. The following is the pros and cons of using Kitchen and Batch Werk in my opinion. Pros - 1. Honest - This is what I like about them the most. You really don't find this kind of person in business nowadays very often. David's quote is clear and fair. During the process we needed to change stuff here and there, he will not quote you outrage price since you already started the work and had to stick with them. When there are jobs that are not his specialty (for example - paint), you will find the price that he quoted is very high. Don't hesitate to communicate with him that you want to hire other people to do the job. He was nice enough to work with our painter without holding any grudge. The pre-built cabinet material that he provided is very high quality and well worth the price. 2. Kind - All his crew members are courteous and kind. They will cover up stuff and clean up their mess. I feel safe to leave them working in my house without supervision. 3. On Time - David sticks to the schedule that he gives you in the beginning even though he is very busy. He will not leave your job site waiting forever when he got other big jobs. Cons - OK, now this is the missing star. As I mentioned earlier, David is very busy. He is not only a contractor but also a pastor of a church. So sometimes you cannot get a hold of him. He left his crews and talked a few minutes with you and took off. I had a hard time trying to reach him to tell him when there is something wrong with their work. I finally had to tell him straight that he should at least reply my emails or text messages if he could not pick up the phone during the day. It is very frustrating when you find out there are jobs not done right and wanted an answer on what to do next but could not find the contractor. I found other reviews all said that David is very responsive, so I guess he must be VERY, VERY BUSY when he worked on our project. Finally, I have some tips for people who are considering doing kitchen remodel. 1. Use custom slabs instead of prefab granite. Yes, it costs 2,000 more, but the look is completely luxury and you can do bigger island for more storage space and have no grout granite kitchen backsplash. When you spend 16K on your kitchen, the extra 2k will transform the whole room which is well worth it. David's granite team is exceptional, they did a great job in my kitchen and it complements the beautiful cabinets so much. You also have a lot more choices in the custom slabs; the beautiful nature stone truly brightens the whole kitchen. Make sure to reserve the stone when you go to the granite yard to pick your slabs. David forgot to tell us this, so we had to rush back to reserve the stone in the last minute. 2. Expect to do a lot of shopping even if you hire a contractor. You will have to pick everything by yourself - faucets, granite, cabinet, sinks, lights, cabinet knobs, wood floors, outlet trims, and accessories. Contractors can only give you suggestions, but you have to decide what you like and buy them from local stores for them to install. (They only provide recess lights, cabinet, granite and wood floor.) I think the most difficult part in this process is you have to select stuff without seeing them putting together as there is no model room or sample pictures for you to choose. It has been a while (more than a year) since Dave and his crew finished my remodel, but I thought I'd write. This was no simple task. I wanted a wall removed, and another wall moved over, reconfiguring a closet on the other side, and claiming some dead space to use as a linen closet. The kitchen part of the remodel was a complete gut job. I also had them install floors throughout the kitchen, living room, and dining room area... anywhere there was no carpet. From start to finish, David was great. He mapped out the plan, made precise measurements, and double-checked his work throughout the job, always stopping to make a suggestion that made sense. Also, David's invoices are crystal clear. Every part is itemized so you can easily tell what's happening with adds or subtractions. He only asked for payments when milestones were hit, and he was around as much as possible to insure the job was done well. I would recommend David again without hesitation. read more

We began our association with David Burr, owner of Kitchen & Bath Werks, in April 2014. We were looking for a contractor to remodel our guest bathroom. After a lengthy search in the area, we were so pleased when we found David. He was very pleasant, knowledgeable and quoted us a very reasonable price. Within one month his team transformed our project into a model bathroom. His subcontractors and crew are the BEST! They are great craftsmen and are very trustworthy. We always felt comfortable leaving them alone to work in our home. We were extremely pleased with the final outcome, so we contracted with David once again in July. We had him remodel our master bathroom. David and his team worked very hard to complete the job in a timely manner. Once again they did a fantastic job. Our master bathroom is beautiful! In January 2015, we contracted with David for a third time to remodel our kitchen. We had our cabinets refaced with new doors and some pull-out drawers. Luis, the master cabinet builder, does amazing beautiful work! We had them put in granite countertops and tile flooring. They also installed recessed can lighting and a pocket door in the pantry with an automatic sliding door (It's very cool!). We are so proud of our kitchen!! We couldn't be happier. Although David and his crew were always busy with different jobs, they managed to make sure that we were happy with the work in progress. If we needed something redone and wanted it changed, David didn't question it. He made sure that it got fixed to our level of satisfaction. David is a very fair and honest professional. We are thrilled with a beautiful new gourmet kitchen in our vacation home in Big Bear. The job was done right the first time, on time. We highly recommend Kitchen & Bath Werks! Our home was built in the 1970s and the kitchen looked it! Dave and his crew came in and transformed it in just a month!! They really made it look spectacular. We tore down a wall between the kitchen and living room and made it into a great room with hardwood floors throughout. We just LOVE the final result and have received so many compliments on how great it looks. Dave is easy to work with and gives his honest opinion on design aspects. He's helpful with his advice on how to make things look good, but is respectful if you want to go another route. We remodeled our kitchen in 2011 and I was basically my own general contractor on this job. I had Dave as my cabinet and countertop subcontractor. He showed up one day and helped with a design problem we had with a load bearing wall after we had already removed one. His idea was first rate. We did the electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, flooring, tile and paint. His crew was perfectly timed to mesh with our work. He was the absolute best. Now we are planning a bathroom re-model and want Dave to do almost everything this time. As soon as we have something on paper we'll be giving him a call. Kitchen Bath & Werks just remodeled our kitchen with new cabinets and countertops! It looks amazing and it was pretty much a pain free process. They made things go smoothly and were done in the 2 weeks time frame they had originally estimated despite a couple of changes we made. Dave was super easy to work with and the design he made for our kitchen was perfect. We have had 7 other contractors come out and nobody had a design that was like Kitchen Bath & Werks. Dave knocked it out of the park! The price for it was quite affordable compared to other contractors as it was in same price range but we had so much more done in the kitchen than the others were willing to do. The workers were easy to talk to and did great work. Overall we highly recommend Kitchen Bath & Werks and we personally will call them again when it's time to do our big bathroom! read more

Great experience! I highly recommend Kitchen and Bath Werks. I had my kitchen and master bath remodeled plus linen cabinets changed out. I had my ideas and Dave had great ideas that I hadn't even thought of that really resulted in a better outcome than I could have originally imagined. Dave is a great collaborator. The cabinetry work is first class and the subcontractors Dave uses were great to work with as well. We stayed within budget and the job was essentially done on time--there are always going to be unforeseen delays in construction--it's just the nature of the beast. I called today in hopes of finding a farmhouse sink after Lowe's failed to get mine in time. I spoke with David, and although he didn't have what I needed, he actually gave me a recommendation for another company that he thought might carry them. He couldn't think of the name off the top of his head, but asked if he could text it to me later. I didn't think I'd hear back from him, but just as promised, he found the name of the company and sent it over a few hours later. I wasn't a customer in his store, nor was I a customer he was going to get business from (wish I could have given him my business!), but David went above and beyond. The work done in our home by Dave and his crew is the highest quality and the price is very competitive. You may have to be patient as Dave and his staff are extremely busy, but it's worth the wait. We've hired other companies who get the job done quickly and charge a lot more $ but but the quality of the other contractor's work has been sub-par compared to K&B Werks. I made the BIG mistake in calling this company for a proposal to remodel my kitchen. Our appt. on 9/3 with Pastor David Burr in which, he met with my husband to look at our kitchen and leave us a catalog etc. to review. He arrived only to measure our kitchen. No samples of counter tops, back splashes or cabinet doors, and told my husband he was out of catalogs etc. He measure my kitchen and was unsure when he would have a proposal for our kitchen because he did not know if he was going out of town or not and for how long?? We had met with (2) other manufacturers over the Labor day weekend who spent 3 hours each showing us samples, catalogs and taking measurements of our kitchen. When each salesman left, we had a complete comprehensive proposal down to the nickel of exactly what we picked out from their selections. I called David at noon today, 9/8 to inquire on when I could expect our proposal to be e-mailed for consideration. David replied that he was free tomorrow and could put it together for me? I asked him how he could provide a quote he said that he would give me a basic quote for the size of our kitchen with gutting the kitchen (instead of refacing which is all we wanted). He claimed that it is cleaner to gut the entire kitchen (more expensive) than to use what is existing and reface???? He did not even remember what finish we wanted for our kitchen and said that he leaves variances in his proposal for what ever we pick on finishes??? When I asked him when we can meet to see some samples of the products, he replied,"I am booked up today, but you can drive to Rancho Cucamunga yourself and look at the cabinets or look at their website.??????? Who picks material off a website picture without seeing it in front of your eyes???? Not me for such an expensive project. I told him that from his demeanor on the phone, he is obviously way too busy and does not need my business on my kitchen reno job. I also told him that I had two very good sales reps from other companies at my home who were very much wanting my business. I prefer to give my business to someone who appreciates it as oppose to someone who feels a sense of entitlement!!! This is not my first kitchen reno and he was not aware of the extensive additional projects to follow the kitchen in our home. I have never been treated so poorly by someone who wants me to pay THEM money!!!!! read more

I found Kitchen & Bath Werks from yelp and we were very pleased! Dave was always in communication with us and started our project a day early and ended several days earlier than estimated. We had our own novice ideas about our layout and once he saw our kitchen, he suggested the perfect layout. He redesigned it and we LOVE IT!!! So much better than our original idea. He stayed within our budget and didn't push granite countertops (like another contractor did); he matched our existing cabinets perfectly and let us use our own tile. Definitely give Dave a call! I had a really good experience with my bathroom remodel. When I moved into my home I wanted to remove my shower and install a bathtub but put it off for nearly a year because I was concerned with finding a trustworthy contractor.
