After buddy yelled it about 4 times I turned and released he's yelling at me. So I turn around and go "who me?" And hes like "YES WHERE IS IT!" I tell him "I dont have it? Im picking up our paid order." Buddys telling me I can't continue without showing him my membership card. I tell him ITS ALREADY PAID FOR. So he asks for the receipt... which I show him. This dude then really looks at the date and goes "THIS DATE IS FROM YESTERDAY ITS EXPIRED." I looked at him so dumbfounded... BRO WE BOUGHT THE PIZZA YESTERDAY. IN THE STORE (since you dont even take payment over the phone anymore)... ofc the receipt will have yesterday's date on it. Its for pickup... TODAY. He then proceeded to tell me im not welcome to pickup future orders without bringing my wife's membership card in. Lmfao. You guys need to chill out with this membership crap. It is embarrassing you act like this. It is not that serious. Especially when I've already paid for my order and yet you still treat me like that? Maybe I'll just cancel my membership instead. You guys have the worst employees that think they're so high and mighty. Grow up.

Although we had a smaller project, they took the time to provide us with a quote promptly, offered reasonable pricing, and delivered great quality. During our first visit, we toured their showroom and were able to view the workshop where they store and prepare their pieces. It was a great experience from start to finish. Our pieces are beautiful, and their service was professional. I'm really happy to support good, authentic companies, and this is one that definitely deserves your business. Check them out!

I went to the Marble & Granite Tech in Barrington, looking for a remnant quartzite. I found the…read moreperfect piece. Since I didn't need it for several weeks, I was told they would tag it and hold it for me. After several weeks my sales person called and said that the piece that I selected was not big enough for the side splash. I returned to Marble and Granite and identified another piece that would work for the side splash. After several weeks, I called and said I was ready for somebody to come to my house and measure. Somebody from scheduling would call and set an appointment. They never called. After a month of waiting, they called and set up the appointment. Measurements were taken. After another month I received a call stating that there was an issue with the vein match. I returned to Marble and Granite. The remnant that they were showing me was different from the one that I had initially selected. They said "no this is the one you selected. I took a picture of the original and it was different. However, the second remnant was a good match. So, I went with that piece. Finally, after several weeks, they came to install. Everything looks great, until the clear calk dried. It looked like black mold was growing between the wall and the back splash. I sent a picture to my salesperson who turfed me to Tom. This guy was the most arrogant and insulting person that I have ever met. He said it was the backing that was showing. After going back and forth with him his suggestion was to paint it the same as the wall. Not an acceptable answer. After the clear silicone dried, I noticed that the edges on the entire counter top were jagged. I'm not a fabricator, but this looks like the blade was dull or they didn't take the time to polish it properly. I am very disappointed with the workmanship. I would never do business with Marble and Granite Tech.

Today, in the store, when I needed it to find the aisle and location of a product, homedepot.com refused to come uip on my phone - instead I got a message that the "app is out-of-date". I don't know cell phones from space rockets. Jim figured out that the phone app had started to update but in the middle of updating. He asked what I was looking for and then escorted me to exactly where TSP (Trisodium Phosphate) cleaning products were. Home Depot has abandoned the true TSP (the dry granular crystals) and now only carries the TSP solution or a fake product that has no phosphate (phosphate is what does the cleaning). Which is a shame, but the Algonquin Home Depot gets 5 stars from me because Jim got my phone app updated and was knowledgeable on the TSP situation.

The other three were chit chatting away, totally ignoring the line of customers waiting to be served. I felt bad for the young lady who was actually doing her job while her much older coworkers were having the time of their lives chatting and laughing to each other the entire time. I guess Home Depot pays their employees to stand there and chat instead of helping customers...

Totally agree with Chris' review…read more Not that this review will really matters because he is not local anymore. He evaded pointed questions I asked. For example, how long the project will take (it took 3 months). Primarily one person company with some sub-contractors. He cut corners at the end. Cabinet doors rub together, half of the self-close cabinet doors don't self-close. Cut kitchen floor back without putting proper kick board down. I deliberately went with a local company in case there were any issues, and we could address them after the project ended. His invoice was not on the up and up and varied greatly from the original quote. We ended up not even knowing what exactly we paid for because he doesn't itemize materials vs. labor.

A 4 week job lasted over 6 months. $11k in unapproved up charges that then turned into a battle over who was right about the final balance. Dana passes himself off as a designer but I never received a drawing of the space as promised. Luckily I knew what I wanted. This was my design. He basically was the project manager who poorly executed. His best guy on the job will no longer work with him the poor management, bad practices and terrible communication. I could list so much more but the point is this is maybe a company for a small project. Not a top of the line major project. Maybe. Buyer beware. All in all my bathroom is beautiful. My design shows through. Where left to his own discretion some of Dana's materials are failing (such as the shower drain which is a MAJOR replacement), and the process of getting to the finish line was excruciatingly painful.
